Dallas’ multi-platinum breakout superstar BigXThaPlug has released the heartwarming music video for his hit single “Back On My BS,” directed by Jerry Morka and Trey Soulss. The video offers a dynamic look at moments from his ‘Take Care’ North American tour, marking a pivotal chapter in his career. It serves as a tribute to his rise to stardom and a thank-you to the loyal fans who have supported him along the way. Highlighting his ability to energize crowds with his stage presence, the video also captures genuine interactions with fans, from autographing shirts to backstage moments, showcasing BigXThaPlug’s deep connection with those who helped elevate his success.
This Friday, November 15, Maxo Kream will release his fourth (or eighth, if you were to ask him) studio album, Personification. The rollout for the album has included the release of his singles “Talkin In Screw” featuring That Mexican OT and “Cracc Era” featuring Tyler The Creator, and a few guest features with the likes of Denzel Curry, with whom Maxo collaborated on “Set It.” Curry also appears on the tracklist for Personification, which Maxo shared this week, and also has appearances from fellow Texan BigXthaPlug, Houston rap legend Z-Ro, rising starts Rob49 and Skilla Baby, and Maxo’s brother, who has renamed himself Josh Kream.
Also, earlier this week, Maxo broke down the philosophy behind his new album with a short film shared to Twitter (which I will never call “X”). In the caption, Maxo writes, “Emekwanem. Trigga Maxo. Maxo C. All me all in one. I’ve had it all and lost it all. Thankful for my angels and I regret nothing. I’m still here dropping albums and my new one comes this Friday.”
Dallas, Texas native BigXthaPlug has stomped into this year with some big expectations. After two successful projects, AMAR and THE BIGGEST, he earned XXL Freshman honors. He joined fellow Texans That Mexican OT and 4batz on that list and it’s going to be interesting to see who separates themselves from one another. So far, we may have to give the slight edge to BigXthaPlug, as he arguably has the best project out all of them now with TAKE CARE. This is his sophomore alum, and it’s all him. The features are getting tossed out for this one, as BigX is looking to show us what makes him who he is as a person.
One of those is being a dad, as he expressed how much it means to him that he is one with Apple Music. The father of two tells Ebro, “My kids is what drives me. That’s the reason when I’m tired and I get up every day when I don’t get up, they’re the reason.” He makes sure to highlight just how much they inspire him on “Therapy Session,” an immediate fan favorite. “When I be away from ’em I cry / ‘Cause I love ’em the most, I’d hate for them to ever say that their daddy wasn’t right on they side.” On top of giving fans “The Largest” look behind the curtain, his producers, namely BandPlay, are bringing that Southern charm thanks to some terrific soulful sample usage from all eras.
Dallas’ multi-platinum hip-hop sensation BigXthaPlug has again made waves in the music world by releasing his latest single, “Change Me.” Dropped through United Masters Group and produced by BandPlay, Tony Coles, and Charley Cooks, the track is a bold declaration of BigXthaPlug’s dedication to staying true to himself despite his meteoric rise to fame.
Following the release of his high-energy music video “The Largest” earlier this week, “Change Me” showcases a new side of the rapper. With a blend of soulful vocals and a hard-hitting beat, BigXthaPlug reflects on his journey from humble beginnings to the spotlight. His sound, inspired by the classic hip-hop era of the ’70s and ’80s, is marked by his powerful storytelling and introspective lyrics.
In the track, BigXthaPlug rejects the superficiality of fame, rapping, “I’ll never change, I am the same, just hit me. The only thing that’s changed is my paper. Forget about the diamonds and chains on my pendant.” The chorus further emphasizes his determination to remain grounded, declaring, “I won’t let them change me, I’ll forever remain.”
Closing with the line, “I come out on these folks that say X changed, I am standing on 10 with my name,” BigXthaPlug reassures his fans that he remains unwavering in his authenticity. As he continues to rise, his ability to blend hard-hitting beats with raw emotion cements his place as one of the most promising voices in the hip-hop industry today.
This past weekend, Dallas’ multi-platinum breakout star BigXthaPlug brought electrifying energy to the NFL stage during the sold-out Houston Texans vs. Chicago Bears game. Joined by Houston rap legends Maxo Kream and Slim Thug, BigXthaPlug performed his hit single “Texas,” which has amassed over 15 million streams and debuted on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart. The track also powered the Dallas Cowboys’ official hype video for this NFL season, solidifying its place as a regional anthem.
BigXthaPlug’s performance underscores his growing influence in rap and rising prominence in sports entertainment. His halftime show at the Texans game follows a dynamic appearance at a Dallas Mavericks game in June, further showcasing his ability to captivate diverse audiences at the intersection of music and sports.
As his star continues to rise, BigXthaPlug is preparing for his 32-city “Take Care” North American tour, which kicks off on October 25 and runs through December 14. The tour will hit major cities like Los Angeles and New York, with appearances at marquee festivals like Rolling Loud Miami.
2024 XXL Freshman and Dallas, Texas native BigXthaplug is definitely someone to keep your eyes on moving forward. There are certainly a few others that standout from this latest “graduating” class so to speak such as BossMan Dlow, That Mexican OT, and ScarLip. But with an instantly recognizable voice that he can be heard from miles away and a great ear for beats, BigX is going to be one of the topflight names. He really made a name for himself last year with two projects, AMAR and THE BIGGEST. Both of them have successful tracks such as “Texas”, “Levels”, “Mmhmm”, “Climate” with Offset, and more. Additionally, BigX showed what he could do with a more country-like beat on the Shaboozey collaboration, “Drink Don’t Need No Mix”.
That song is helping the new country superstar’s new project, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, do well on the charts. On top of the XXL nod and this massive single, BigXthaplug hasn’t been up to much solo wise. He teamed up with Ro$ama and 600 Ent. for the short team effort tape MEET THE 6IXERS back in May. That’s the closest he’s been to dropping anything for his own catalog. However, that has come to an end as of this weekend with “The Largest”. Produced by his frequent producer pal BandPlay, BigX raps about how far he’s come thanks to all of these aforementioned accomplishments we listed off.
On the second verse though, he gets even more braggadocious and prideful. “I just got off a tour, finna go on another one / Album dumb, finna drop me another one / Couple of Ms, finna run up another one / Super Bowl rings, s***, I had to go double ’em“. Check out the new BigX single with the link below.
Moved out the trenches, now look how we live Told my BM to furnish the crib Walk out the mall with some shoes for the kids Deposit a check, s***, my bank full of Ms Paid up my rent, now I’m up for the year The view look crazy from here
Shaboozey and BigXthaPlug take over a dive bar for some drunken shenanigans in their “Drink Don’t Need No Mix” video. The video captures the debauchery as Shaboozey shoots pool and double fists a glass and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s. Bar fights, body shots, and borderline flashing punctuate the hedonistic action. It all looks like a fun night out and one humongous headache the next morning for at least one patron — but not Shaboozey, who departs with a pair of companions and a big grin at the camera.
“Drink Don’t Need No Mix” appears on Shaboozey’s new album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which came out in May, punctuating the genre-jumping Nigerian Virginian’s precipitous rise to stardom over the past year. After appearing twice on Beyoncé’s personal Great American Songbook, Cowboy Carter, he released the J-Kwon homage “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” jumping to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (and launching J-Kwon back into the limelight, incidentally).
In September, Shaboozey heads out on tour in support of the new album after playing Outside Lands festival in August. It’s safe to say he’s got plenty to celebrate; let’s just hope he drinks responsibly.
You can watch Shaboozey’s “Drink Don’t Need No Mix” video with BigXthaPlug above.

Dallas’ own Mo3, known for his unique brand of raw street gospel, continues to inspire fans and artists from Texas and beyond. Today, his estate partners with his record label, H$M Music, and EMPIRE to release a new video for “AR,” a standout track from Mo3’s posthumous album Legend. The track features rising Dallas rapper BigXThaPlug and Bay City rapper That Mexican OT, who both pay tribute to Mo3’s impact on Texas rap.
In “AR,” BigXThaPlug delivers powerful, bass-heavy triplets, while That Mexican OT spits fiery verses, dubbing Mo3 the “King of Texas.” Despite their compelling performances, Mo3 remains the star, with his soulful melodies and rapid-fire rhymes anchoring the track.
The “AR” video, set in Dallas, showcases BigX and OT visiting one of Mo3’s favorite spots, Big Mama’s Chicken And Waffles. They ride dirtbikes and cruise in vintage cars, celebrating Mo3’s legacy. The video includes clips of Mo3 performing and features ‘LL3’ chains, emphasizing the lasting impact of his music.
Though Mo3 is no longer with us, his legacy continues to inspire a new wave of melodic rap, proving that his influence on the genre and his fans endures.
21 Lil Harold & BigXthaPlug have been two of the most entertaining up-and-comers as of late. Both borrow from their respective corners of Southern hip-hop. Lil Harold grew up in Atlanta and is a longtime friend of 21 Savage. Which makes sense, considering their stage names are the same and he utilizes the “P***y” adlib quite often with a slightly different delivery. As for BigX, he hails from Dallas, Texas. The 25-year-old possesses one of the best mic presences in modern-day rap with his deep and husky cadence.
Both also have their fair share of bangers and big-time collaborations. Lil Harold had some background vocals on Savage’s third studio album, american dream, earlier this year. You can find him on “dangerous” and “letter to my brudda.” He also had a fantastic single with JID not too long ago. Furthermore, he will be joining Savage, JID, and Nardo Wick for The American Dream Tour that kicks off in May. BigX had a big 2023 with the release of two projects, THE BIGGESTand AMAR. Those saw him work alongside Offset, Sauce Walka, Finesse2tymes and more.
Listen To “Gin & Juice” By 21 Lil Harold & BigXthaPlug
Now, these two soon-to-be-stars are teaming up for the first time on “Gin & Juice.” However, this one shares no similarities to Snoop Dogg’s classic. The beat on this song slaps hard with the soulful vocal samples that return every now and again. The bass is resonant, and the string sections add a big budget feel to everything. Both rappers deliver sticky flows as well and it all comes together. Be sure to check this one out ASAP.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Gin & Juice,” by 21 Lil Harold and BigXthaPlug? Is this better than “Sundown” with JID, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the strongest performance on the track and why? If an album is coming soon, do these last two efforts have you excited? Southern hip-hop has always been providing the genre with infectious hits for decades on decades. The slow-mo and wavy sounds just have something about them that gets listeners in a trance. However, some artists just hit you with endless slippery flows and intriguing cadences. One of those names who is doing this as of late is BigXthaPlug.
He has been releasing music into the world since 2019 but has been hitting his stride over the past year or so. In 2023, Plug put out his debut album, Amar. That came out in late April, but this new EP is garnering some serious buzz. THE BIGGEST is shaping up to be the perfect reminder for fans that Plug is going to be doing bigger and bigger things going forward.
One of the reasons for that is because he was able to nab a feature from Offset. Together, their aggressive flow patterns are perfect compliments on the song “Climate.” THE BIGGEST dropped on December 1, but the music video for this track has just hit YouTube. Already, the visuals have raked in over 313,000 views in two days. That is good enough for number 21 on trending for music. Production is also a strong point here with its watery and plucky synths and banging trap percussion.
What are your initial thoughts on this new song, “Climate,” by BigXthaPlug and Offset? Is this the best track from Plug’s THE BIGGEST? Is he going to be someone who takes off even higher next year after his coming out party? If you were to compare him to more established rappers, who is he similar to? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around BigXthaPlug and Offset. Finally, always stay with us for all of the best song drops throughout the week.
