Benny The Butcher Labels J. Cole The Best Rapper Alive

Benny The Butcher says that his “Johnny P’s Caddy” collaborator, J. Cole, is the best rapper alive. He made the case for the Dreamville artist during an interview with HipHopDX. Additionally, he reflected on attending a writing camp with the Dreamville roster.

“I’ma have to say Cole [is the best rapper alive],” he said. “Like right now, fresh in my memory right now. It gotta be that kid there, man. It’s a different aura with him, right? He always been a contender but I feel like he’s coming into his own right and standing over it. You know how [Lil] Wayne said he’s claiming it? I kinda feel like he’s claiming it right now. And he’s done enough where he could claim it.”

A bunch of producers – [so many] I can’t even remember… Westside Gunn, Lil Yachty was through there.” Benny previously named Cole’s contribution to “Johnny P’s Caddy” the best guest verse of his career during an interview at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. G Herbo Reveals New Mixtape “Best Rapper Alive” On The Way

G Herbo has revealed to TMZ that he has a new mixtape on the way. “I got new music comin’, man. New mixtape. It’s called Best Rapper Alive. I gave it to y’all first, TMZ,” Herbo told the outlet. Herbo didn’t reveal much else about the project and its release date also remains a mystery.

However, the project appears to be a bounce back for the rapper after the legal mess he found himself in to start the year. Herbo was sentenced to three years probation on identity theft and fraud charges. This was seen as a massive win for Herbo’s team, especially as prosecutors had wanted him to spend at least a year behind bars. Are you excited about new music from Herbo? Let us know in the comments.

Ari Fletcher Rejects Notion That G Herbo “Made Her”

However, one person who may take issue with Herbo calling himself the best rapper alive is his ex, Ari Fletcher. Last year, Fletcher disputed the idea that her ex, G Herbo, “made her”. In a recent lengthy interview, Fletcher argued that her success was self-made and it didn’t matter who her ex was. The host agreed, arguing “They also say this about their exes, but why aren’t their other exes just as successful?” Furthermore, Fletcher argued that Herbo held her back. “If I had stayed…dead a—, I would not be the person I am today,” Fletcher said.

However, reactions were split online. “What does she do if he didn’t make her? She had a baby by a Chicago rapper,” one person argued. “Honestly the reason she gets this statement so much displays in this interview her arrogance she confuses with confidence. I left viewing this still asking what does she do again?” another concurred. Despite this, not everyone was against Fletcher. “And honestly Ari helped Herb become more successful. The way she use to promote his music NONSTOP and hype him is why I use to listen to his music. Check his album sales when he was with her vs after. IJS,” one supporter noted.

J. Cole Named Best Rapper Of 2023 By Complex, Debate Ensues

Complex has named J. Cole the best rapper of 2023 for a piece in which they pick an artist who dominated each year since 1979. In doing so, Complex argues Cole has “over a dozen standout features across several genres” and cites “First Person Shooter,” “The Secret Recipe,” “All My Life,” “Evil Ways,” “Thanks,” “On My Block,” “Passport Bros,” and more as examples. The outlet also notes that “First Person Shooter” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Cole managed to assert his dominance and showcase his lyrical prowess without even putting out a solo album,” the staff writes. “On the 13 songs that Cole appeared in 2023, he always delivered the track’s best performance, even when rapping with fellow heavyweights like Drake, Lil Durk, and Lil Yachty. Every new Cole verse was a moment that had the rap world buzzing, and he was able to do this in several genres, from Afrobeats and R&B to K-pop, and trap.”

The decision has warranted plenty of debate on social media. When TheHipHopWolf posted the ranking on Instagram, one fan argued Drake outperformed Cole on both of their 2023 collaborations. “No disrespect… Drake ripped him on both songs…. Drake is sadly the best male rapper and it’s not close,” they commented. Another wrote: “I know like 10 local rappers more worthy of that bold ass title lol.” Many also defended Cole’s placement. One fan remarked: “Yes. He’s the last of a dying breed from the previous era and still the best of the current era.”

Lil Wayne Declares Himself “The Best Rapper Alive” During Performance

Of all the rappers who can say they’re the greatest MC on this planet right now, Lil Wayne is arguably the most deserving of that title. Sure, that debate is decades old at this point and will never fade, but who else is currently on Weezy’s level? Whether it’s due to his historic catalog or his most recent excellent singles and features, either category holds massive weight. Also, you have to take into account that when it comes to the current rap wave, few (if any) rappers laid its groundwork as consequentially as the New Orleans lyricist. Of course, Wayne knows this, and declared as such during his final stop of the “Welcome To Tha Carter” tour.

“I am the realest motherf***er in the game right now,” Lil Wayne told the crowd at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night (May 13). “Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t give a f**k what you think you’re looking at, but you are looking at the best rapper alive.” The “Kant Nobody” rhymer gave fans a stunning set for his final tour stop of his trek, although it came as a disappointment to some. That’s because his team canceled the scheduled livestream of the event hours before.

Lil Wayne Knows He’s “The Best Rapper Alive”

Regardless, we know that Tunechi thinks he’s the best rapper alive, but there’s no way that he’s his own favorite. During a recent conversation with Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne spoke on his love for her. “As a kid before Jay- this before I even knew a Jay-Z existed- I was into Missy Elliott,” he remarked. “You know it was because you were able to say things that I would want to say as I’m rapping. You not only made me like- you made me love it. And I became so interested in you. And what happened was I bought the album and did not know that you really was spitting like… you know what I mean. You know I spit that verse to you all the time. So, it was you and Cee-Lo Green was who I would listen to at the time a lot.”

Meanwhile, the 40-year-old also spoke on his legendary 100+ feature run in 2007. His insane work ethic, even if it impacted his consistency, is another argument in his corner. But the question remains: do you think he’s the best rapper alive, or is there another MC that holds more weight? Let us know in the comments and return to HNHH for the latest on Lil Wayne.

Tyga Gives Nicki Minaj Her Flowers, Also Praises Doja Cat

Tyga is someone who has been having a great time in life right now. The artist is currently in a relationship with the likes of Avril Lavigne. As unlikely as this relationship is, there is no denying that they appear to be quite happy. Overall, the two have spent a whole lot of time together. Moreover, he is already buying Lavigne some expensive gifts. There is no telling where this relationship will go, although for now, it is definitely promising.

As for his professional career in rap, Tyga has certainly been taking his time when it comes to releases. However, it should be noted that he saw a nice resurgence a few years ago. Songs like “Taste” were major hits that went off on playlists and the club. Additionally, he is now with Avril Lavigne, which opens up the opportunity for a pop-punk revival. In this case, he would also have access to the likes of Travis Barker. Although, based on his most recent Twitter posts, it seems like he could very well be angling for collaborations with two women’s rap heavyweights. Of course, we are talking about Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat.

Tyga Praises Two Generations

As you can see above, Tyga had the ultimate praise for Minaj. In fact, he referred to her as the best female rapper ever. This is high praise, although it is not a hot take by any means. “Nicki is the best female rapper of all time no one comes close!” Tyga wrote. “World play, punchlines, delivery, pockets, beat selection, creativity. Inflictions.” He subsequently went on to praise the likes of Doja Cat, saying “Doja is a really good rapper too.” Doja Cat has proven to be a pop machine as she has numerous charting songs. Every time she drops an album, you can be sure it will be chock-full of hits, and Tyga recognizes this.

Overall, this praise is definitely nice to see amongst peers. Although, we wonder what prompted Tyga to make these declarations. Either way, there is never a bad time to give people their flowers. Artists like Nicki are simply legendary, and they definitely deserve the praise. Let us know what you thought of Tyga’s declaration, in the comments below.

G Herbo Feels Like “The Best Rapper Alive”

There are a few rappers that could claim the title of Best Rapper Alive. However, G Herbo feels that he meets the criteria. The Chicago native emerged as a lyrical giant in the city’s drill scene, especially when he showed out with Lil Bibby. However, he’s matured since then while sharpening his lyrical sword. These days, it seems like his new competition is the greats that came before him. G Herbo shared a message on Instagram that read, “I really feel like I’m the best rapper alive nbs.”

After nearly a decade in the rap game, perhaps, G Herbo has a case behind his statement. Though some would feel otherwise, Herbo’s maintained a consistent stream of music over the past few years. Each effort showcased the depth of his artistry. Projects like PTSD and 25, specifically, were met with acclaim from both fans and critics. Releases like these made many feel as though he stepped things up since releasing joint projects with Southside.

Is G Herbo Dropping A New Album?

G Herbo came through with his last body of work, Survivor’s Remorse last year, which boasted appearances from Jeremih, Future, Offset, Benny The Butcher, and more. Though he continues to ride high off of the release, his recent claim on Instagram seems to be a strong indication that he’s cooking something up. After all, why else would G Herbo publicly claim to be the “best rapper alive” if he doesn’t have another project up his sleeve to prove it?

He closed out 2022 on a rather quiet note. Still, the Chicago rapper came through last month with his first drop of the year. Herb teamed up with Murda Beatz and Yung Bleu for the single, “Raining.” However, he’s currently on the road alongside Future for the One Big Party tour, so if he does have a new album on the way, it’ll likely arrive after he wraps up his obligations. Hopefully, another single drops soon. For now, check out what G Herbo had to say above. Do you think G Herbo belongs in the GOAT conversation? Let us know in the comment section below.

Elliott Wilson Dons Future the “Best Rapper Alive” in New Cover Story

FQt wJlVsAICXny

As Future gears up to drop his forthcoming album on April 29, the Atlanta rap superstar did an interview and cover shoot with GQ magazine. In the piece for GQ, legendary Hip-Hop journalist Elliott Wilson said Pluto is currently the No.1 rapper in the game.

“When you survey the hip-hop landscape, no other artist has been as consistently excellent, or as influential, for as long as he has. He invented his own sound, which has since become the dominant style in rap. He has delivered hit after hit after hit. And he’s done it all on his own terms.I’ll say it again: Future is the best rapper alive,” said Wilson

Now while this may be a controversial statement? Are there any truths to this? You be the judge.
