Azealia Banks Adds Australia To Long List Of Feuds

Azealia Banks has added an unexpected new entry to her long list of beef: the entire country of Australia. The rapper took to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction with the handling of her single “New Bottega” in the land down under. According to her, a subpar remix of her master track was released in Australia instead of the original version she preferred. She goes on to discuss her record contract before criticizing the Australian music industry more broadly.

“I don’t think they realize how unimportant they are as far as music culture goes… they’re deluded with the idea that their whiteness makes Australia an A Market, when it’s truly a C-D market,” Banks said on her Instagram. “Brazil is a MUCH more important market for music than australia lmao. (this is mostly because Australia has an extreme dearth of internationally appetizing talent outside of Kylie Minogue, INXS & AC/DC, {tame impala is just cheesy to me, and wolfmother is excellent – but clearly an American rock tribute band}.”

Label Problems, Bigger Beef, And New Music

Australia isn’t the only feud Azealia Banks has had this year. She has also gone very public in her beef with former label, Parlophone. The rapper had barely been signed with the label for three months before leaving. In November 2022, she announced the signing via social media. At the end of January this year, she said she was leaving because the label was full of “fragile white liars.” She also called the label’s roster “corny losers.” Even if she had changed her mind about leaving, there was likely no going back after those comments. It’s another bridge burned for Banks.

Although the rapper is currently independent, that doesn’t mean that she isn’t going to release music. In a recent interview with Dazed Magazine, she spoke about the music she has been working on. Apparently, Banks has already recorded 75+ songs for two new albums. Additionally, she said that her opinion of her voice has changed. “My voice has definitely matured a lot, and I feel really sexy when I sing now,” she said in the interview. “When you’re younger, especially when you come from theatre like I do, you’re kind of listening to yourself as you sing to make sure that you sound pretty. But I don’t care about sounding pretty. Because I’ve realized that I’m f*cking gorgeous.” What do you think of Banks’ latest beef? Let us know in the comments!

Azealia Banks Is Not Pleased With Australia, ‘One Of The Most Culturally Stale White Nations On The Planet’

When it comes to Australia, Azealia Banks isn’t feeling the love.

In a series of Instagram Stories shared yesterday (May 7), Banks wrote about how her recent single “New Bottega” was handled in Australia, claiming a “piss poor remix of my master track” was released over there instead of the preferred version. She writes more about the song and her record contract before going after Australia and its music industry more generally.

“I don’t think they realize how unimportant they are as far as music culture goes because they’re deluded with the idea that their whiteness makes Australia an A Market, when it’s truly a C-D market,” Banks said. “Brazil is a MUCH more important market for music than australia lmao. (this is mostly because Australia has an an extreme dearth of internationally appetizing talent outside of Kylie minogue , INXS & AC/DC, {tame impala is just cheesy to me, and wolfmother is excellent – but clearly an American rock tribute band}.”

She continued, “Australia doesn’t really have many music acts that anyone truly cares about on a global scale because they’re in a vacuum of off-brand British culture,” noting she thinks they have “actually created one of the most culturally stale white nations on the planet.”

“Sidebar: I’m reading this article in the Guardian about the ever dwindling and insignificant Australian music industry and have SO MANY THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS, but the delusions of the Aussie music execs quoted in this article is f*ckkkng astonishing and making it clear to me how sheer jealousy, racism and desperation allowed @sweatitoutmusic to purposely sabotage a bonafide hit in lieu of their fragile fragile egos and DESPERATE attempts to try and steal my IP. The Australian music industry is so devoid of internationally appealing talent they literally harrased, threatened, menaced and corruptly stole my IP. Let’s take a deep dive.

the version of my song New Bottega, the Australians released as The final composition is actually a piss poor remix of my Master Track , and should not be titled ‘New Bottega’.

There’s no language stating that any ‘left over ideas’ do not belong to me. Because they essentially treated the fully mixed mastered single as a discard, when they had it in their possession the entire time, the song splits were not papered once done,
and they have nothing with my signature confirming ‘New Bottega’ as the song that qualifies the parameters of the initial contract.

They left it as ‘TBD’ which was stupid on their part. So they basically denatured my intellectual property, cherry picked what they wanted from it and fraudulently presented it to the world AS the song EYE wrote. And they released it, so that is the only version of the song they have claim to. My Sony atv deal explicitly states that I am not allowed to assign control of my publishing/vocals etc to any entity. Again I was very f*cking sick when I signed the deal and really just signed it so They would stop calling me at 2am and let me rest. The fact that they are steadfast on trying to have ownership over something that is going to make them no money without my involvement is asinine. They fact that they are so obsessed with owning my vocals but adamant about treating me poorly and adamant about not investing in such a massive song (the tik tok stats and best of year end lists literally proved that the product works, what’s the point in changing it?) is literal stupidity. Whatever remix they released is not ‘New Bottega.’ So they don’t have the right to title their remix track as such. ‘New Bottega’ is my intellectual property, and time has proven that these aussies have zero clue how to market this song, absolutely no knowledge of the big business that is American female rap, or how to engage with Azealia Banks and leverage the power of her already established international fanbase to their advantage… here I am LITERALLY telling them how to get my fans excited- and they re taking it an insult.

For the record. ‘New Bottega’ by Azealia Banks Is a hiphop record. It is not a dance record. Categorizing it as a dance record was their first wrong marketing move. Clearly -There is a cultural dissonance here. HipHop is the most profitable genre of music in the world right now. EDM is f*cking dead For people so thirsty to try and own the rights to my vocals , you’d THINK they had some huge money play to go along with all of the empty and baseless threats to sue me. (lmao, can’t sue me for not participating in promoting garbage.) if they were good crooks – they would have at least kept their racism under wraps long enough to have taken my photo and shot a video to have assets to promote their bullshit with) For all of the dsp c*cksucking @sweatitoutmusic did in effort to try and prove to me that their marketing strategy was better than mine – registering it as a dance song Was the most anti-algorithmic sh*t an algorithm dickrider could have done. F*cking stupidity.

Australia’s media /music /entertainment industry isn’t exactly heralded by the heads of government or anyone in the world as a coveted cultural export, I don’t think they realize how unimportant they are as far as music culture goes because they’re deluded with the idea that their whiteness makes Australia an A Market, when it’s truly a C-D market. Brazil is a MUCH more important market for music than australia lmao. (this is mostly because Australia has an an extreme dearth of internationally appetizing talent outside of Kylie minogue , INXS & AC/DC, {tame impala is just cheesy to me, and wolfmother is excellent – but clearly an American rock tribute band}

Australia doesn’t really have many music acts that anyone truly cares about on a global scale because they’re in a vacuum of off-brand British culture. Could be do to with it being geographically so out of the way and how aggressive, barbaric, oppressive and violent they have been in regards to the very existence of native black peoples that they’ve actually systematically stomped out their country’s own ability to develop its own music/arts culture – to instead look to England and the USA for ideas to regurgitate not realizing that the reason the Australian music industry and Australian culture is so trash is BECAUSE of their country’s historical post colonial obsession with I guess, trying to prove to England and the Monarchy that they -a legion of convicts/mentally insane social rejects – were in fact a proper white/Anglo-saxon society – using the massacre/ subjugation of black/indigenous peoples (manifest destiny bullshit) and theft of their land as a marker of national strength

But they have actually created one of the most culturally stale white nations on the planet.

The fact that these aussie music execs are COMPLETELY OVERLOOKING THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS PURPOSEFUL ETHNIC CLEANSING OF NATIVE PEOPLES AND THEIR INABILITY TO PRODUCE MUSIC ANYONE ANYWHERE CARES ABOUT IS F*CKING COMEDY .

Someone has GOT to tell the Australian music industry that Absolutely no one on earth takes it seriously. Like, they HAVE to understand how untalented/uncultured and unneeded they are to the greater global arts community, realize musical talent is just not in the gene pool, and redirect those funds to the aboriginal peoples of the continent and just pack their shit up and go back to Europe. LMAO. Y’all stomped all the blackness out of Australia – which is why your music exports suck and we don’t feel bad for you lmfaooooooo.”

Snoop Dogg’s Pole Dancers Shock Australian Crowd, He Parties With Ed Sheeran & Russell Crowe Backstage

Snoop Dogg just shocked an Australian crowd of 20,000 with a lewd concert including pole dancers on Thursday (March 2). As the scantily-clad performers danced to his music, he performed some of his classics like “Gin And Juice” and “What’s My Name?” Moreover, he also brought out an ape-mask-wearing performer carrying an oversized blunt prop to throw money onstage. Overall, it sounds like quite the display of debauchery and campiness that we’ve come to expect from the Cali legend. It might’ve been shocking for many, but the crowd overall loved his performance, screaming and singing along on his “I Wanna Thank Me” tour.

Furthermore, Snoop faced accusations of groping one of his backup dancers during his Monday night Perth show. However, it seems like that referred to people concerned with how he touched them while on stage, with no further wrongdoing reported. Still, a testimony from another dancer painted the rapper’s energy in a more positive light. “It’s just having fun and entertaining the crowd,” dancer Nicole remarked to a radio show. “He’s the coolest person, super laid back and he just wants to entertain the people like we all do.”

Also, the 51-year-old hung out with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe backstage at his Melbourne show on Saturday (March 4). Of course, many pointed out some jars and rolled cigarettes among them, pointing to some chill celebration. Still, it was a bizarre sight as a hip-hop legend, one of the biggest artists right now, and an acclaimed actor kicked back. In addition, it seems like Snoop gifted both celebrities with a Death Row chain to commemorate the occasion.

Meanwhile, the Doggpound head honcho will make a return to TV alongside his longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre. Moreover, DJ Pooh confirmed a reboot of their film The Wash (which he directed) as a TV series. For those unaware, this was a star-studded 2001 film for hip-hop and could make for a fun, nostalgic revisiting. Given their chemistry and decades of experience working together, it should be a treat to see even if the end result isn’t revolutionary. Regardless, check him out with Sheeran and Crowe below and stick around on HNHH for the latest news from Snoop Dogg.

Harry Styles Drinks From A Shoe At Australian Concert

Harry Styles drank from one of his green Adidas sneakers at his recent concert in Australia, participating in a long-standing tradition known as a “shoey.” The moment was shared on social media by a concert attendee. “This is one of the most disgusting traditions I’ve ever witnessed,” Styles joked to the audience. After pouring a drink into the shoe and downing it, he remarked, “I feel like a different person. I feel ashamed of myself. It feels so personal. Such an intimate moment to be shared with so many people.” He also joked that he “will be discussing this with my therapist at length.”

Many artists have taken a drink from their shoes at concerts in Australia over the years. Both Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone as well as many more have done so during their concerts. After Malone’s “Shoey,” fans expressed concern about the singer’s well-being as he also looked noticeably thinner on stage.

Harry Styles’ “Shoey”

Styles’ Australian show comes after wrapping up a sold-out, 42-date tour in the United States that began in 2021. He was also recently named the British artist of the year at the 2023 BRIT Awards. In accepting the award, Styles thanked his former One Direction bandmates. “I want to thank my mum for signing me up for X Factor without telling me, so I literally wouldn’t be here without you. I want to thank Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn because I wouldn’t be here without you either. Thank you so much,” Styles said in his speech. He also recognized some of the female artists who he beat out for the honor. “I’m really really grateful for this and I’m very aware of my privilege up here tonight so this award is for Rina, Charli, Florence, Mabel, and Becky,” he said, referencing Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Florence Welch, Mabel, and Becky Hill.

Styles also took home Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards, earlier this month, for his project, Harry’s House. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 521,500 album-equivalent units back in May 2022.

Kanye West Burger Lawsuit Dropped As He Goes MIA

The never-ending saga of Kanye West‘s life continues with a dropped lawsuit over an Australian burger joint. Ye filed the lawsuit against College Dropout Burgers owner Mark Elkhouri over the usage of his 2004 debut album’s name. According to WA Today, the rapper accused Elkhouri of his misleading and deceptive choices, as the restaurant owner had never contacted Ye about using “College Dropout.” But, after mysteriously going AWOL, Ye’s lawyers have had enough.

The initial 43-page court statement was filed back in October of 2022. The claim referred to Ye’s status as one of the top 100 artists of all time, insinuating that the usage of his name in any business automatically references the rapper. Accordingly, Elkhouri was to destroy any materials related to Ye’s personal branding. Needless to say, this included his Australian trademark application for College Dropout Burger. Elkhouri had reportedly complied by removing signature art pieces and logos related to Ye from his establishment. This included a mural of Ye, as well as the logo referencing the album covers bear. The case has been dropped, however, not because of Elkhouri’s cooperation, but because the 45-year-old rapper has gone AWOL.

Ye’s Lawyers Want Out

Ye has been known for stirring controversial views, and often goes against the status quo. Most recently, Ye has struck up disappointment with his comments praising Adolf Hitler, and self-identifying as a nazi. These recent remarks urged Education Minister Jason Clare to declare Ye’s ban from Australia. Despite 24 Grammy wins and placing as the United State’s fourth-highest certified artist by digital singles, Ye still finds himself on a slippery slope.

Just this month, Ye’s lawyers have officially cut ties with the rapper due to his unresponsive behavior. In a report released by AllHipHop, the legal team working with Ye on a copyright case was unable to contact the “Runaway” singer in order to denounce him. Accordingly, they took to newspaper ads to publicly announce their separation from Ye. The presiding judge questions how extensively the legal team tried to contact their client. However, this is certainly not the first time that Ye has found himself under fire with the law.

Post Malone Denied Entry At A Hotel Bar For Surprising Reason

While touring with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone found himself down under. The “Rockstar” singer was just trying to enjoy some drinks at the QT Hotel’s rooftop bar in Perth, Western Australia when he was turned away, despite his fame and success. The reason? Posty’s face tattoos. As it turns out, it doesn’t matter if you are an A-Lister with multiple award wins under your name. The QT Hotel adheres to strict dress codes that are against “face, neck, and offensive tattoos,” even if you are a top-charting artist. Posty noted that this is the first time he has been denied entry for being tatted, according to Consequence.net

With a growing list of over 75 tattoos, Post’s grungy meets eccentric style continues to stand out. On his face alone, he rocks barbed wire alongside the phrases “Stay Away” and “Always Tired.” The New York native is recognized internationally for his tattoos and continues to add to his one-of-a-kind ink collection. Lucky for Post, he was easily able to recuperate the energy of the night. Alongside his entourage, the group switched gears by kicking back with local fans at 18 Knots, another nearby bar.

Post Malone Explains What His Tats Mean

The QT Hotel eventually did issue an apology, telling the DailyMail “at QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual.” Furthermore, they state, “our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion, and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologize to the individuals affected.” While the half-hearted apology hints at admiring individuality, it’s unclear as to why the organization maintains such rigid rules.

Last summer, Post released his latest album Twelve Carat Toothache, which earned him number two on the US Billboard’s 200. Prior to his Australia shows, he toured the album with Roddy Rich as the opening act. It’s unlikely that such an incident will discourage this rockstar, who already has exciting plans coming up in the next few months. As his stadium run with the Red Hot Chili Peppers ended this week, he’s headed back to the states to perform at BottleRock 2023 in Napa Valley.

Kanye West May Be Denied Entry To Australia Over Antisemitism

Kanye West may be unable to obtain an Australian visa due to his history of antisemitic behavior. One government minister said on Wednesday that Ye’s “awful” antisemitic comments could result in him being denied access by the country.

West is reportedly hoping to travel to his new wife Bianca Censori’s hometown of Melbourne to meet her family.

“People like that who’ve applied for visas to get into Australia in the past have been rejected,” Minister for Education Jason Clare said in an interview with CNN affiliate Nine News. “I expect that if he does apply he would have to go through the same process and answer the same questions that they did.”

Ye has made all sorts of antisemitic comments in recent months. He admitted to liking Adolf Hitler while speaking with Alex Jones, shared a Swastika on Twitter, and more. He’s also been hanging out with infamous white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief Peter Wertheim addressed the situation in a statement to Sky News.

“We’ve made the case that this particular individual does not meet the character test and that it would be in the national interest not to grant him a visa and we set out our reasons in some detail,” Wertherim said.

Australia has blocked far-right figures from entering the country for failing the “good character” test in previous years. In 2015, they blocked British conspiracy theorist David Icke who was on a speaking tour.

Immigration Minister Andrew Giles will likely make the final decision on Kanye West’s access to the country.

West and Censori reportedly tied the knot, earlier this month, however, they did so without filing a marriage certificate.

Australian Jewish Orgs Want Kanye West Banned From Country

It’s said Kanye West is visiting our friends Down Under in an effort to bond with his new in-laws, but Australia’s Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) wants the rapper ousted. Although we haven’t heard much from West in recent weeks, his racially insensitive, anti-Semitic remarks have been imprinted in pop culture. The Rap mogul has been banned from several social media platforms, and many lucrative business deals were ended.

It was revealed that he allegedly married 27-year-old Bianca Censori, an architect that reportedly worked for Yeezy. The Australian designer is said to have wed West in a private ceremony. They have allegedly made their way to her home country to visit her relatives.

However, Australia Anti-Defamation Commission has penned a statement about the rapper’s visit. They want the country to ban West.

Calling for violence and hate must have consequences, and Australia should not put out the welcome mat and provide a platform to a hatemonger who spews threats against the Jewish community and peddles conspiracy myths about Jewish power, greed and control,” Dr. Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the civil rights organization ADC, told Billboard.

“This kind of rhetoric is dangerous and has real-world consequences,” Abramovich also stated. “Given the more than 30 million followers that this person has and who may start believing that his demonization of the Jewish community and that they must act.”

“Allowing Kanye into Australia would also send the wrong signal about our nation and violate our core values of tolerance, diversity and respect. At a time of rising antisemitism in Australia and increasing vilification, his presence in the country, revolting anti-Jewish propaganda and incitement, and abhorrent rhetoric poses a significant risk to the Jewish community.

“On the basis of his record of demonization of the Jewish people (’death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE’) we urge Minister Giles to use his powers under section 501 of The Migration Act and refuse Kanye entry.”

The Australian Jewish Association also fired off an open letter asking for Ye to be blocked from entering the country.

“Antisemitism is at elevated levels in Australia, part of a worldwide trend. Multiple recent antisemitic incidents across Australia have specifically referenced Kanye West,” they said. “Including graffiti in Melbourne and leaflets in Brisbane.”

It is unclear if any steps will actually be taken. Meanwhile, West has not spoken about the rumors of his new marriage. It has been further suggested that West is currently working on his 2024 campaign for President of the United States.

Kanye West & Bianca Censori Travel To Australia To Meet Her Family: Report

Slowly but surely, more details regarding Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s relationship are reaching the public. According to a report from The Herald Sun today (January 22), the rapper may be travelling to Australia to meet his new wife’s foreign family.

The happy couple “will spend time in Ivanhoe, east of the CBD, where Censori grew up,” the outlet alleges. As you may recall, the 27-year-old and her beau were reportedly married at a private ceremony at a resort in Utah earlier this month. Since then, they’ve both been sporting luxurious rings to symbolize their union.

Sources have made it clear that the wedding was real for both Censori and West. However, a marriage certificate might not exist, meaning it may not have been legal.

According to Daily Mail, the architect is originally from Victoria. Her LinkedIn profile reveals that she attended Carey Baptist Grammar School. After high school, she and a friend named Irene launched a jewellery company called “Nylons.” The idea came as the two girls were making chokers and bracelets for themselves from Swarovski crystals. Eventually, they realized that their creative hobby had serious business potential.

Censori kept this project up while studying at the University of Melbourne from 2013 to 2017. The last two years of her Bachelor’s degree also saw her working as a design consultant at the furniture design company Kelektiv.

The brunette beauty continued her education as she pursued her Masters in Architecture at DP Toscano Architects. By November 2020, she was ready to move on to better things, leaving Australia behind to work for Yeezy in Los Angeles. She was brought on by West as the Head of Architecture, and they’ve obviously since built a close working relationship.

After her relationship with the father of four went public, Censori promptly deactivated her social media profiles. Hopefully, in the future, she’ll begin to share more of the pair’s life together with fans.

Elsewhere in the news, sources say that Ye’s ex, Kim Kardashian “hates” Censori. Sources initially claimed that the tension between the two is because of the latter’s good looks.

However, those reports were shut down by others stating that the socialite isn’t paying attention to the drama. Read her apparent thoughts on the recent romance here, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
