Twitter Reacts To Jonathan Majors Texts, Many Think Lawyers Are Making Him Look Guilty

As March began, Jonathan Majors was feeling on top of the world, thanks to the arrival of two huge projects – Ant-Man: Quantimania and Creed III – which he worked incredibly hard on. Following the latter’s highly anticipated premiere, he and co-star/director Michael B. Jordan enjoyed their time in the spotlight, consistently making fans laugh (and swoon) with their antics. Unfortunately for the 33-year-old, things quickly came crashing down last weekend when he was arrested and charged with assault, among other things.

Since he was taken into custody, Majors’ legal team has vehemently denied any wrongdoing on his part. On Thursday (March 30), the defence shared screenshots of texts between the actor and his alleged victim, seemingly attempting to prove his innocence. However, as many social media users are pointing out, it could be argued that the receipts only make the accused attacker look more guilty. “Please let me know you’re okay when you get this,” one of the messages begins. They assured me that you won’t be charged. They said they had to arrest you as protocol when they saw the injuries on me and they knew we had a fight.”

Jonathan Majors’ Attorney Unveils Alleged Texts

The anonymous woman went on to say that she was angered over the situation, and “will make sure nothing happens about this.” Aside from her lengthy paragraphs, the only words that came from Majors’ phone were “Did you leave the keys?” and “Goodbye, [redacted].” While they don’t exactly prove or disprove anything at this point, social media is having a field day reacting to the investigation’s latest update.

“Jonathan Majors’ lawyer really woke up and was like, ‘Let’s put out evidence that the girl did pass out and collapse and maybe people won’t ask how that happened if she says she grabbed his phone,’” one Twitter user quipped this morning. “You have to be the dumbest lawyer alive to think releasing texts from your client’s victim that have her taking the blame for injuries she received from him are evidence of his innocence instead of one of the clearest signs of domestic violence and an abusive relationship,” someone else wrote. Another person added, “Jonathan Majors got his lawyer from the same place Trump got his.” Keep scrolling to see more reactions, and make sure to tell us your thoughts on the situation in the comments afterward.

Jonathan Majors’ Attorney Refutes Assault Allegations As U.S. Army Pulls Actor’s Ad Campaign

If anyone is having a wild weekend at this moment, it’s obviously Jonathan Majors. The 33-year-old was arrested on Saturday (March 25) morning, after allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old woman during a taxi ride. Some reports have said that the rumoured victim is the actor’s girlfriend. She apparently saw a text from another woman come in on his phone. This caused an altercation to break out between them as she attempted to read the message. Paparazzi cameras caught the accused leaving an NYC courthouse yesterday evening. He was markedly wearing a cap with “FREEDOM FREEDOM” written on it.

As fans continue to seek answers about the accusations brought against Majors, his attorney is vehemently denying the claims. “[Jonathan is] completely innocent. [He’s] probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” Priya Chaudhry told PEOPLE in a statement. “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently,” she added.

Actor’s Attorney Maintains His Client’s Innocence

“This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place. Witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations,” Chaudhry’s statement on behalf of Majors concluded. While she sounds confident that her client’s name will soon be cleared, the U.S. Army is doing its part to avoid controversy by pulling recent ad campaigns which feature the Creed III star.

According to Deadline, the multimillion-dollar rollout has been placed on hold today (March 26) in wake of the assault, strangulation, and harassment charges brought against him. “The U.S. Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest,” Laura DeFrancisco, Army Enterprise Marketing Office spokesperson told the outlet. “While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.” See Majors’ work in the campaign for yourself below, and check back later for any updates on his assault investigation.

Jonathan Majors Seen Leaving NYC Courthouse In “FREEDOM” Cap After Facing Assault Allegations

On Saturday (March 25), the world was shocked by the news of Jonathan Majors’ unexpected arrest. As DailyMail reports, he was taken into custody yesterday morning. He’s currently facing charges of “strangulation, assault, and harassment,” according to NYPD officials. The accusations come from his 30-year-old girlfriend, who called authorities after sustaining injuries to her head and neck. Despite the evidence coming out against his client, the Creed III actor‘s representative is vehemently denying any wrongdoing.

“He’s done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up,” they shared in a statement. Less than 12 hours after he was arrested, another update regarding Majors’ case came out. At the time, photographers captured him leaving an NYC courthouse. He was notably wearing a cap that reads “FREEDOM FREEDOM” and a COVID-19 mask. By his side was either an attorney or assistant, who shielded the 33-year-old from the rain with a translucent umbrella.

Jonathan Majors Enjoys His “FREEDOM” After NYC Arrest

While many details regarding the situation that resulted in Majors’ arrest are still under wraps, we have heard reports claiming that the couple broke out into an argument during a taxi ride. The alleged victim apparently saw another woman text her man’s phone, resulting in an altercation that’s said to have turned physical. The Ant-Man star is being accused of slapping his partner when she tried to view the messages before putting his hands around her neck, ultimately resulting in visible injuries. Among them was a “laceration behind her ear, redness, and marks to her face.”

At the time of his arrest, Jonathan Majors was promptly cuffed and hauled off to jail. Police reportedly “felt there was enough evidence for probable cause.” At the same time, his girlfriend was taken to a local hospital where she was assessed and thankfully declared to be stable. The reason for and conditions of the 33-year-old’s release remain unknown at this time, though we’ll surely receive more updates on the situation in the coming days. Travis Scott’s Rep & Attorney Address Assault Allegations

Another controversy is sweeping Travis Scott’s camp. Scott is accused of acting out at the Nebula nightclub in New York City this week. Initially, reports stated that Scott was accused of assaulting a sound engineer in a heated confrontation. That same evening, the rapper was also seen in a video attempting to grab someone’s phone. Clips of the rows quickly circulated online, and soon, Scott’s representative and attorney issued statements via Complex.

The Houston star’s rep says the allegations are “a complete and total joke.” They reportedly added, “As anyone with common sense can see, the video that shows Travis DJ’ing in Nebula proves that the incident was nothing. All it shows [is] that Travis’s performance was disrupted by someone aggressively in his personal space.” Additionally, attorney Mitchell Schuster spoke on the ongoing controversy.

At the time of this publication, no official charges have been filed against Scott. However, there are reports that he plans to turn himself over to the authorities. “Legal counsel for Travis are actively working with the authorities and remain confident that Travis will be vindicated once all is said and done,” he stated. “Any statements about the incident involving Travis are clearly an attempt to sensationalize what is nothing more than a misunderstanding.”

When news of the incidents was first shared, Schuster called it all “clickbait and misinformation.” He further explained to TMZ: “While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

The Alleged Victim Speaks

The sound engineer named in the controversy has only been identified as “Mark.” He detailed his alleged injuries with a new station and claimed Scott damaged $12k worth of equipment. Mark asserted he and Scott verbally disagreed before the rapper allegedly attacked him. “My neck is f*cked up. My arm is tingling. I have pins and needles going down it,” he said. Nicki Minaj & Kenneth Petty Sued For $740K Over Alleged Attack: Report

It looks as if Kenneth Petty has another legal issue to deal with. Nicki Minaj and her husband live a more reclusive life away from the spotlight, but that hasn’t kept their names out of headlines. Petty has been battling it out in court over his attempted rape conviction and registering as a sex offender. However, he and Nicki Minaj were also accused of being involved in an attack on a security guard in 2019.

In January 2022, reports stated Minaj and Petty were sued by a German man named Thomas Weidenmuller. The Blast reported Weidenmuller was the head of security at a Minaj concert in Frankfurt when a fan made it past guards and jumped onstage. The incident allegedly made Minaj upset, and Petty, along with her entourage, confronted Weidenmuller backstage.

Court documents revealed that the “concert-goer breached a security barricade dividing the audience from the stage and was able to get on stage while Minaj was performing. In obtaining access to the stage, the concert-goer bypassed a female security guard stationed at the stairs leading to the stage.”

The Blast reported on newly filed paperwork where it shows that Weidenmuller is demanding $753,958.51 in damages. “The concert-goer did not cause harm to any other person, nor did he damage any property during or after his limited time on stage. He simply danced on stage to the music. He did not attempt to, and did not actually, make any physical contact with Minaj while on stage.”

Weidenmuller added that Minaj’s entourage was “irate during this confrontation and screamed at the female security guard that she was a f*cking b*tch and accused her of having put Minaj in physical danger. During the confrontation, the female security guard was in tears and apologized to Minaj.”

The accuser claimed that the apology from the guard wasn’t enough for the Rap icon. Minaj allegedly told the woman to apologize again, this time while she was being recorded. “Tell Minaj’s fans, via the recording, that she failed to do her job and put Minaj in danger,” Weidenmuller stated. He also said Minaj threw her shoes at the guard before Weidenmuller was allegedly verbally and physically assaulted.

“Without warning, Petty PUNCHED Weidenmuller from the side and made contact with the right side of [his] face.” He was said to have spent 10 days in the hospital. Minaj nor Petty have commented on the accusations.

Tory Lanez & Prince From “Love & Hip-Hop” Settle Alleged Assault Cases

Tory Lanez and Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star Prince are reaching a settlement over a number of past assault allegations, reports reveal.

The rapper’s new attorney, Kadisha Phelps has specifically shared that the Brampton native agreed to the financial deal. This comes as part of the lawyer’s plea to further remove the trial date completely.

Phelps says she has “information to believe that a settlement has already been reached between the parties and [Lanez] has tendered funds to [Prince] in consummation of their agreement.”

The alleged assaults stem from two separate incidents between the reality star and rapper at two different Miami nightclubs.

The first allegedly took place in November of 2019 at LIV Nightclub. Prince says that Lanez swung his fists and punched him in the face after a verbal confrontation.

The 32-year-old also alleges that the “Say It” singer’s security assaulted him. Ultimately, this caused blunt-force trauma to his back, neck and chest.

The second incident took place when the two got into it at Vendome Nightclub in Miami a year later. Prince claims that the R&B vocalist later let his anger get the best of him again, punching the Love & Hip-Hop star in the face.

A trial date of December 5 was previously set, but Phelps believes it’s no longer necessary. Her client has been busy putting together a defense for the criminal trial involving his alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. That trial will begin next week, on December 12.

Lanez is also allegedly responsible for an assault on fellow artist August Alsina that took place in September. The D.A. is currently looking into this case.

After his last lawyer dropped him for “irreconcilable differences” earlier this year, Phelps began representing the Canadian rapper. She has put in a request for that trial date to move four months.

The 30-year-old is arguing that his actions were self-defense.
