Rihanna And ASAP Rocky Delightfully Channel The Glamour Of An Old-Hollywood Film Noir For A New Fenty Beauty Ad

Rihanna is turning up the glitz and glamour for a luxurious new ad for her Fenty Beauty brand.

In the creative video, she appears alongside ASAP Rocky in an old Hollywood-inspired film noir, with the two really committing to the era. It first opens on RiRi, with the title card “Born To Steal” written in a movie-style font.

“She was a classy dame, but she had odd ways of showing her affection, from leaving me out cold in the dark to stealing my heart… and my stuff,” the voiceover says. “I’d let her get away with murder. The male chooses his attire carefully. Although the female’s choices are endless, she borrows from the male for her camouflage.”

Viewers see Rihanna dolled up in early-1900s-inspired makeup and a diamond necklace, as she dances around. She then changes into a suit. While getting dressed and trying it on, ASAP Rocky appears, nearly catching her in the process. He walks into the room, but much like the mystery movies, she is creatively hiding out of view.

Later on in the video, the two get together, eating breakfast as he reads the newspaper — including an issue where Rihanna is hilariously dubbed the “blazer bandit.” Basically, we need Rihanna to bring back these types of movies now.

Until that happens, if at all, check out Rihanna and ASAP Rocky starring in the “Born To Steal: Yours, Mine, Ours” Fenty Beauty ad above.

Free Nationals, Anderson .Paak, And ASAP Rocky Set The ‘Gangsta’ Legacy For Their Younger Selves In Their New Video

Free Nationals have teamed up with frequent collaborator Anderson .Paak, as well as rapper ASAP Rocky, for a scorching new track. Tonight (February 23), the artists have shared “Gangsta,” which amalgamates the signature components of each act, and results in untouchable musical chemistry.

Over a groovy, hypnotic beat, which comes by way of brilliant production by Free Nationals, Rocky taps into a sense of bravado, remembering his father who taught him his gangster ways. .Paak delivers a soulful chorus, somehow making the life of a gangster sound smooth and sweet.

The song’s accompanying video features younger versions of .Paak and Rocky driving through town looking fly, and getting in trouble along the way

It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten new music from any of the three acts. Neither Free Nationals nor .Paak have released an album since 2019, and Rocky hasn’t dropped one since 2018.

But in an interview with Dazed published last fall, Rocky teased his long-awaited fourth album, teasing a more adventurous sound.

“I want to leave expectations wide and open,” Rocky said. “I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it how they do naturally.”

You can see the “Gangsta” video above.

Anderson .Paak is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

ASAP Rocky Offers A Promising Update On Rihanna’s Long-Awaited, Highly Anticipated New Music

Rihanna fans who have been waiting for her new album might finally be in luck. During a recent viral video, ASAP Rocky gave an update about the status of her ninth album. “She’s working on it,” he responded — and the fans who had just taken a photo with him cheered.

She last released Anti in 2016, making it nearly a decade since dropping a full record. Many had suspected she would release something last year when she headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, but Rihanna decided to build anticipation a little longer. She’s also been very busy with her Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty companies.

Last December, she opened up about a possible game plan during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “We’re always gonna go back on tour,” Rihanna said. “I wanna go back on tour when there’s new music, right? We already know what that’s gonna be.”

“I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music, and after that, let’s just blow everything up,” she added.

According to the Daily Mail, Rihanna had also reportedly signed a deal with Live Nation that is worth $40 million — which would presumably mean she would also put out new music.

Hopefully, this year will mark her grand return.

Drake Seemingly Shades Rihanna During The Opening Night Of ‘It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What?’

Drake’s growing tension with Rihanna has seeped into his live sets.

The status of the rumored ex-lovers (with matching tattoos) appears to be far from cordial. In 2023, fans began to speculate that Drake was sending shots at Rihanna on his song “Fear Of Heights” off his album, For All The Dogs. Now, users online believe he’s back to his shady ways.

During the opening night of the It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What? in Tampa, Florida, Drake refused to perform his parts of Rihanna’s hit 2016 song “Work.” Instead of completely removing the tour’s setlist, Drake allowed concertgoers to jam out as he enjoyed a brief break between records.

“I don’t sing this song anymore,” he said. “But you [all] can sing it though.”

Once an attendee posted the clip, users online rushed to respond to Drake’s remarks.

“I mean, they broke up, so it makes sense,” wrote one user.

“It’s a timeless hit, but Aubrih has been over, so I get it,” penned another.

“He’s never gonna get over her, is he,” added a user.

“He’s so lame…why play the song in the first place,” asked another.

Drake has undoubtedly come a long way from professing his wish to get married and start a family with Rihanna. Or even him begging for her to release a new album.

ASAP Rocky Showcases Unreleased Westside Gunn Track During Orchestral Performance

With every year comes another wave of anticipated albums. ASAP Rocky’s has to be at the top of people’s lists in 2024. Throughout 2023, the New York multi-hyphenate relentlessly teased his forthcoming record Don’t Be Dumb. Many thought it would drop, especially after he came through with two singles “Same Problems?” and “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n).” Both brought different vibes and look to be additions to the tracklist when that ever gets revealed. If this year roughly follows the same song pattern as the one before it, then we could be in for a new treat very soon.

ASAP Rocky was in Europe this past weekend for a glamorous charity concert in Paris, according to HipHopDX. Many other music celebs were in attendance, including his “RIOT” collaborator Pharrell and his boo Rihanna. Besides the spectacle that was Rocky and his accompanying orchestra, the song that was played is what is getting the buzz. The track is rumored to be called “Whiskey” and it features Griselda rapper Westside Gunn.

ASAP Rocky And Westside Gunn Have A Hit In The Vault

Damon Albarn, one-half of the famed alternative band Gorillaz, is also in the mix. Clams Casino tag teams the production making for an all-star lineup. We have no true idea of what the original version sounds like, but Rocky’s rapping and flows are very solid. Late last year, ASAP and Westside were in the studio together, presumably working on “Whiskey,” according to HipHopDX. Gunn even detailed their link-up in the studio on Twitter, as seen above. This would not be their first collab, but, it sounds like it could be their best.

What are your thoughts on ASAP Rocky, Westside Gunn, and Damon Albarn’s unreleased collaboration “Whiskey?” Will this be the best song off Don’t Be Dumb if and when it drops, why or why not? Is Rocky one of the best creative minds in hip-hop today? Do you need more collaborations from him and Gunn in the future? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Rihanna And ASAP Rocky Meet With French President Emmanuel Macron

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky have had a busy itinerary this week. The pair are in France for Paris Fashion Week and have kept busy. At the start of the week, Rihanna popped up for the Christian Dior show. She was sporting a layered black look that left fans a little divided. Later in the week she and Rocky popped up together where her fit was a lot less divisive. But that wasn’t the full story as many online were looking for an explanation from her hair-dresser.

Now their newest appearance may be the biggest yet. Earlier this year the couple were spotted at Elysee Palace after meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron. It’s Rocky’s first time officially crossing paths with Macron but Rihanna has some history with him. RiRi has sat down with Macron twice in the past to discuss educational initiatives she supports. The reason for her newest visit with Macron alongside Rocky is currently unknown. Check out the pictures of the couple leaving the building below.

With nearly every picture of the singer that emerged from fashion week, the comments swarmed with those speculating that a she could have a third child on the way.

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky had their second child Riot just last year. It came after she surprised fans with an announcement of her second pregnancy during her highly-anticipated Super Bowl Halftime show performance. It’s her second child with ASAP Rocky following the birth of their son RZA back in 2022. Jokes about Rihanna’s long drought without a new studio album have persisted for years with many fans hoping that it would come with last year’s Super Bowl show. Did ASAP Rocky Diss Drake On Kid Cudi’s New Album?

The 2024 calendar isn’t even two full weeks in and already, we’ve got rap beef cooking on the horizon — maybe.

Fans pressing play on Kid Cudi’s new album Insano are pretty convinced that there is, as line from guest rapper ASAP Rocky on “WOW” sounds like it could be referring to Drake. As true rap beef lore heads may remember, Drake has feuded with both fellow blog-era rappers as often as he’s collaborated with them, so there could be a little bit of merit to the speculation.

In his verse on the song, Rocky raps, “These n***as can’t stomach me, gotta go get a mandrake.” Fans have interpreted this as a clever way to sneak Drake’s name into the line, which references a natural remedy for stomach problems. It could also be reference to Drake’s 2023 admission that he’s taking time off to deal with a stomach issue. You can hear the song for yourself above.

Rocky citing himself as the source of Drake’s tummy troubles might be a nod to their shared dating history; Drake dated Rocky’s current partner Rihanna in 2016, however, she moved on pretty quickly. And while Drake insists he’s over it — most recently, on his For All The Dogs song “Fear Of Heights” — the fact that he keeps talking about it undercuts his argument pretty thoroughly.

(Drake also notably had a back and forth with Cudi after the Cleveland rapper appeared to shade him on Twitter in 2015. Drake later dissed him on “Two Birds, One Stone,” then collaborated with him on Certified Lover Boy. Basically, rap is wrestling, all this is kayfabe, and it’s hilarious that people keep taking these artists seriously.)

In any event, there’s probably a certain amount of good-natured gamesmanship going on here; and we’ll probably see Drake and ASAP on each other’s music at some point in the future. In the meantime, it’s fun to speculate (for some people) about when and how Drake will respond.

ASAP Rocky Might’ve Issued Drake Response On Kid Cudi’s New Album “INSANO”

A$AP Rocky recently featured on Kid Cudi’s new album INSANO, which is a star-studded and pretty wild affair. There’s a lot of production versatility, plenty of themes, aesthetics, and appeals to unpack, plus a slew of creative collaborations like this one with the New York MC. On the track “WOW,” ASAP Rocky lets off the following bars, which many interpreted as a dig towards everyone’s favorite Toronto hitmaker. “These n***as can’t stomach me, gotta go get a mandrake,” he spits. Moreover, amandrake is a Mediterranean root commonly used to treat stomach issues, and this may be a reference to Drake’s alleged diss against the 35-year-old and their overlapping romantic interest.

Furthermore, the 6ix God had seemingly taken shots at his former flame Rihanna, who is of course now ASAP Rocky’s boo, and Rocky himself on the For All The Dogs cut “Fear of Heights” last year. “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you?” Drake croons on the song. “That could never be, gyal can’t run me, better him than me, better it’s not me. I’m anti, I’m anti, yeah, and the sex was average with you. Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you, okay, I’m auntie like your daddy’s sister, auntie like a family picture. And I had way badder b***hes than you, TBH. Yeah, that man, he still with you, he can’t leave you, y’all go on vacation, I bet it’s Antigua.”

However, Drake also had a specific reference to the A$AP Mob frontman on this album, particularly on the Lil Yachty-assisted “Another Late Night.” “I ain’t Pretty Flacko, b***h, this s**t get really rocky. Damn, what? Dirty how I did him in the Wraith,” he raps on the song. Given that ASAP Rocky didn’t respond to a TMZ reporter’s question about this alleged diss a while ago, we still don’t know how if he took it as such. Also, these two rappers have had a pretty solid relationship in the past, so this is all pretty speculative since they haven’t given us any real reason to think there’s some beef brewing.

Still, it’s hard to read these bars and not think that something went down in the past couple of years. Fans will likely continue to draw these parallels, even when they don’t find the most solid evidence in the world. We’ll see whether either superstar has anything else to say about their relationship. On that note, stick around on HNHH for the latest updates and more news on ASAP Rocky and Drake.
