Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have been married since 2010 and in that time they’ve become one of the definitive musical couples around. Not only do fans love their often hilarious antics together and wholesome relationship, but also the musical talent they both possess so much of. Earlier this week, Swizz celebrated his 45th birthday alongside his wife on a sort of double date.
The couple joining them were Lil Durk and Indie Royale. Despite some up-and-down moments in the past year the pair seem to be pretty stable now. They accompanied Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys on the producer’s birthday celebration and some photos of the four made it onto the internet. In the pictures, they did some very prom-looking poses together on some white steps. Fans in the comments mostly mused on how surprising of a combination they all make. “such a random link up but f*ck it black excellence,” the top comment on the post reads. Check out the picture below.
Every once in a while fans pop in to laugh at something Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have shared. Last month, the pair took to social media to ask fans for their opinions on something Keys tried to do. Apparently, she was hungry in the club and when everyone else ordered drinks, she tried to get carrots. In a hilarious video filmed afterward, Swizz charmingly mocks her for the decision, while she defends herself claiming she was hungry.
Unsurprisingly, the musical pair’s children also seem to be quite talented when it comes to playing instruments. They shared a video of their son Egypt playing the piano with impressive ability for his age. In the short but elegant clip he seems all too amused with his skill while Swizz films him performing. What do you think of Swizz Beatz and Lil Durk hanging out for the producer’s birthday? Let us know in the comment section below.

September 11th (9/11) changed United States history forever. The memory of the many lives that were lost is cemented. From the World Trade Center employees to the first responders, the country pauses each year in its memory. Take a look at five tracks that memorialize September 11.
Jay-Z “Empire State of Mind”
Jay-Z’s strong connection to 9/11 remains forever. He released his classic album, The Blueprint, on the same day as the attack. 8 years later, he teamed up with Alicia Keys to give a legendary ode to their beloved home of New York City.
Long Live The World Trade
The memory of the World Trade continues to live on to Brooklyn’s finest.
Jay-Z 9/11 Freestyle
Live from DJ Clue’s Stadium series
Jadakiss “Why”
Jadakiss’ track took a more conscious approach than many of his previous records. In the Anthony Hamilton assisted song, the Yonkers natives question several issues or daily occurrences he has experienced firsthand or witnessed from afar.
One of those witnesses was September 11th. Kiss questioned,
Why did Bush knock down the Towers?
In 2001, former President George Bush was 9 months into his first presidential term.
50 Cent & Eminem “Patiently Waiting”
The track comes from 50’s legendary debut album that was certified 9x platinum. Both Fif and Em mention 9/11.
50 Cent’s 9/11 lyrics
I’m innocent in my head Like a baby born dead Destination heaven Sit and politic with passengers from 9/11
Eminem 9/11 lyrics
Them cowards f**k with the wrong building they mean to hit ours
Talib Kweli- “Around My Way”
The conscious Kweli delivers on this record with the help of EGOT winner John Legend. The country’s pride was at stake at the hands of 9/11.
It really gets me mad The way we saluting the flags Wrapping them around our heads When ni**as ain’t become American ’till after 9/11
As Talib Kweli’s words echoed for many, the country banded together as one to keep spirits high in such a trying time.
Two decades, we continue to send our hearts and prayers to the family and friends of the 9/11 victims. Long live the World Trade Center.
Alicia Keys concluded her mesmerizing KEYS TO THE SUMMER TOUR with a captivating final night at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles.
The tour spanned 22 cities and showcased Keys in a unique and intimate 360-degree in-the-round production, leaving audiences and critics amazed by the spectacle. During the Los Angeles show, Keys delighted fans with a surprise appearance by Annie Lennox. The two icons teamed up for a special collaborative rendition of The Eurythmics’ classic “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” a highlight that resonated with the crowd and added an unforgettable touch to the tour’s grand finale.
In a new video posted to Instagram yesterday, Swizz Beatz is driving around with Alicia Keys. When Swizz first points the camera in her direction she doesn’t even want to look at it, probably because she knows what’s coming. In between laughter, Swizz tells the story of the pair at the club, when Keys tried to order carrots instead of a drink. Though she tries to defend herself, responding “I was hungry,” Swizz clearly has his mind made up. In the caption of the post, he writes “The white side is in full effect again” and follows it with a number of carrot emojis.
Fans in the comments were mixed with some coming to Alicia Keys’ defense. “I’m her defense, if they have wings they should have carrots,” says the top comment on the post. Another similar argument says “I feel her tho like if y’all got food in the club why y’all don’t got Carrots or Celery? That’s basic sides to wings & I know they got wings in da club.” Others in the comments are more aligned with Swizz. “lmaooooooooooo girl u better go ask for sum lemon pepper wings,” says another top comment. Finally, one of the top comments on the post ignores the debate entirely and takes the chance to point out how good Keys looks. “She looks like she hasn’t aged at all,” it reads.
Last month Alicia Keys fell victim to the increasingly hostile concert trend of fans throwing objects at performers. During an incident where this happened, Swizz Beatz’s son Genesis got on stage to defend his mom from fans throwing objects. Afterward, Swizz had high praise for his son’s actions.
Swizz Beatz was also one that reached out to Gillie Da Kid following the tragic passing of his son late last month. Many rap legends from across the genre poured out love for Gillie and his son during such difficult times. Who do you think is right between Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys? Let us know in the comment section below.
This summer marked 22 years since the release of Alicia Keys’ debut album Songs In A Minor and the official start of what became a massive music career. Since then, numerous Grammy Awards and multiple No. 1 songs, both as a lead and featured artist, are just some of what stands out on Keys’ resume. While Keys is a more low-key superstar than she was in the 2000s, her legend hasn’t diminished and remained captivating during her Keys To The Summer Tour stop in Boston’s TD Garden.
Unsurprisingly, the arena was packed with fans who grew up on Keys’ music. The crowd was mostly millennials who watched the young singer blossom into what she is today rather than a younger generation who may not be fully aware of her previous status. With that in mind, Keys’ setlist for the night reflected the audience at hand. A show that lasted nearly two hours contained just a few songs from Keys’ recent albums ALICIA and KEYS released in 2020 and 2021, respectively. The rest of the setlist bounced around beloved albums like Songs In A Minor, The Diary Of Alicia Keys, As I Am, and The Element Of Freedom.
Keys kicked off the night with “Fallin’” which captured the attention of the arena through the introduction of Keys’ trademark voice and the equally notoriously dance of the piano keys that is easily recognized more than 20 years after its release. The nostalgia only increased as Keys navigated through other records that are undeniable standouts in her discography like “You Don’t Know My Name,” “Unthinkable,” and “My Boo” as well as other strong outputs that include “New Day” and “Karma.” Keys also made room for her newer records throughout the night. “Love Looks Better” and “Underdog” fit well into the setlist from a sonic perspective, as did “Come For Me” and “City Of Gods (Part II), proving that though the music industry has changed over the years, Keys has stayed true to her vast pocket over the last two decades.
The last half of the night was more focused on Keys’ biggest records and songs that became cult classics over the years. A soaring performance of “A Woman’s Worth” was followed by a captivating rendition of “Superwoman.” A tender moment was shared through “Butterflyz” and “That’s How Strong My Love Is” and again with “Diary” and “Like You’ll Never See Me Again.” The energy returned with lively performances of “I Need You” and “The Gospel.” Through it all, Keys seemed to have the time of her life, utilizing the entire stage, which stretched from end to end of the arena. It allowed her the opportunity to interact with the crowd in all areas of the room, and in return, she received the excitement and energy that they had within throughout the night.
Keys’ show at TD Garden concluded with a collection of her biggest hits, all of which the crowd in attendance was more than happy to join. “Girl On Fire” was met with roars from the audience as TD Garden quite literally heated up to sing the record in one accord. Keys then jumped into her classic hook on Jay-Z’s “Empire State Of Mind” before checking into the 2016 record “In Common,” which is a personal favorite of mine from her catalog. At long last, to close the night, Keys ended with an empowering performance of “No One” before delivering a grand finale encore with “If I Ain’t Got You.”
Keys’ night at TD Garden was driven by love for her fans and hits that unified everyone in the building. For two hours, the arena came together to indulge in love songs and uplifting records. The experience was made better by the 360-degree stage design that allowed Alicia Keys to interact with all corners of the arena. It was also proof of how this can and should become the standard for artists that perform in arenas as opposed to the traditional setup that leaves some in the space at a disadvantage. Keys’ Keys To The Summer Tour leaned on love and unity for a nostalgic night that certainly left fans to reflect and appreciate all that she’s done over her two-decade career.
It appears that musical genius runs in Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys’ family. Swizz posted on Instagram (and aggregated by The Shade Room) of their son, Egypt, going absolutely ballistic on the piano. The video begins with Swizz coming into the room, where beautiful music is pouring out. That’s when the video sees Egypt seated at the ivories, turned around and looking at his dad while he’s still playing incredible music. He continues to play for the better part of a minute before ending the song and getting up from the piano.
Swizz Beatz posted this to his socials with the caption, “This boy is turning into something else,” with tons of celebratory emojis. The Shade Room adds its own caption to the amazing feat: “Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys’ son Egypt giving y’all a glimpse of what he can do on them keys!” Egypt is 11 years old and is the older brother to Beatz and Keys’ other son, Genesis, age eight. And if he’s doing this at 11, who knows what heights Egypt can take his music career to.
Beatz and Keys got married on July 31, 2010. Since then, they’ve had two sons and plenty of musical success. Alicia Keys just recently celebrated her Jay-Z collab anthem “Empire State of Mind” going nine times platinum. Swizz Beatz, a music producer and rapper with almost 20 years of experience in the hip-hop industry, has been feeling nostalgic by sharing a ton of DMX stories and content.
But first and foremost, the couple is still going strong. Other than fostering the musical talents of their boys, they keep giving each other grand romantic gestures. Swizz Beatz recently gave Alicia Keys a $500,000 Virgil Abloh-designed Mercedes-Maybach car. So now Keys is mobbing around in style while her son Egypt is becoming an honest prodigy on the piano. Where Egypt takes his piano powers is anyone’s guess. But we wouldn’t be shocked if he wanted to take up music as something more than a hobby.
With 15 Grammys under her belt, Alicia Keys has long proven that she is an unstoppable force. The acclaimed pianist singer-songwriter has dominated soulful R&B spaces for decades, but her influence doesn’t just stop with chart-topping hits. Keys’s talents have seen her shine as a New York Times best-selling author, a formidable entrepreneur, a film, television, and Broadway producer, and even as an actress. She is also the maestro behind the beauty line Keys Soulcare, her venture into the wellness sphere, marrying her passion for music and wellness.
