A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Makes His Presence Felt On “Steppas”

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie has built up quite the fanbase since he blew up in 2016. The Highbridge The Label founder hit his stride with tracks like “My Shit,” “Still Think About You,” “Look Back At It,” and so many more. 2022 was the last time we got a full project from the New Yorker and that was Me vs. Myself. The time in between that has been spent by dropping new versions of classics in his catalog like “Drowning Pt. 2” and “Timeless” but sped up.

But, in late 2023, A Boogie started giving fans a look at his new record Better Off Alone. This another album title that will deviate away from his Artist series. “Did Me Wrong,” “Her Birthday,” and “Booby Trap,” were a set of three singles that debut in September. Now, A Boogie is back with his newest addition to the promotional tracks with “Steppas.”

Lola Brooke, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, And Big Freedia Want You To ‘Bend It Ova’ On Their Hyperactive New Song

Lola Brooke is four months removed from the release of her debut album Dennis Daughter and keeps her momentum rolling in 2024 with a new single, “Bend It Ova.” The hyperactive single is a borough-blending, region-crashing crossover, featuring verses from Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and New Orleans Bounce icon Big Freedia. The beat blends the best of both artists’ favored production styles, pairing A Boogie’s moody piano riffs with a flashy NOLA beat for a track that is sure to see listeners doing exactly what the song says.

Earlier this year, Lola Brooke followed up her first project with an appearance on Wyclef Jean’s PSA “Paper Right” alongside R&B star Capella Grey, coke rap mainstay Pusha T, and hooper-turned-rapper Flau’jae Johnson. Meanwhile, her September track “You” with Bryson Tiller remains a fan favorite, racking up 15 million views on YouTube and over 13 million streams on Spotify.

A Boogie is also planning on expanding his discography this year, promoting his upcoming album Better Off Alone to capitalize on the buzz he acquired from appearing on “Calling” from the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack by Metro Boomin.

Kai Cenat Directing A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Music Video, Shares BTS Footage

Kai Cenat is arguably the biggest streamer around, especially thanks to his prominence in the rap sphere as of late. For example, a video showed him joining A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie for a studio session, where the rapper previewed some new music for him. Apparently, the Twitch giant liked what he heard so much that he wanted to support his fellow New Yorker in bigger ways. Moreover, he recently uploaded behind-the-scenes footage of him on a music video set for A Boogie– one that he’s apparently directing. In the short clip, you can see the desired shot on the camera display, as well as various tech set-ups for lighting, sound, and much more.

While it’s a brief look into Kai Cenat’s directorial beginnings, it’s still exciting to see him level up while not losing touch with what propelled him to fame. After all, this week went wild with hilarious footage and juicy gossip surrounding his 24-hour stream with Offset. As such, it seems like the 21-year-old is balancing out those worlds quite well so far, opening big doors for himself along the way.

Kai Cenat At The Helm Of A Boogie’s Next MV

However, this shouldn’t be surprising at all for people well-versed in Kai Cenat’s content. The social media star recently broke into the film industry with his short film Global Pursuit, a buddy cop action comedy reminiscent of classics like Rush Hour. Not only that, but he even got a cameo from Lil Yachty for it, who’s done his part to boost Cenat’s profile in his own right. Yachty could’ve brought out anyone to perform during his Rolling Loud set, but he chose Kai.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how this MV plays out, and what the NYC native has planned for the future. Sure, his path to stardom hasn’t been without speed bumps, such as his chaotic giveaway event in his home city. That being said, that affects pretty much every celebrity at one point, and it surely won’t be the last controversy he has to face. One thing’s for sure, though: he wants to be much bigger than a reactor or content creator at this point. For more news and the latest updates on Kai Cenat and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, check back in with HNHH.

Metro Boomin Dedicated A Haunting 2023 MTV VMAs Performance With Future And Swae Lee To His Late Mother

Metro Boomin brought a who’s-who of hip-hop superstars to his performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, overseeing the proceedings from a DJ booth hovering far above the stage. First, Future appeared to perform their song “Superhero” on a mist-covered stage. Then, Swae Lee popped out to sing the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack standout “Calling.” He was joined in short order by Nav, then by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (whose name got mangled by announcers and presenters all night. How hard is it to say “A Boogie?”). The performance ended with a loving dedication to Metro’s mom, Leslie Wayne, who was killed last year.

Their performance closed out an eventful night that saw exuberant performances from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Stray Kids, and more. The night also saw an reunion of sorts for NSYNC — although Megan Thee Stallion might not have been completely impressed.

However, because of the ongoing WGA strike, it was pretty clear that show didn’t have as much room for the scripted moments that have made the VMAs must-see TV in prior years. That left more room for music and awards, making the three-hour show feel much shorter than it actually was.

You can watch Metro’s performance above.

Kai Cenat Links Up With A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie In The Studio

Kai Cenat may be primarily known as a streamer, but across his skyrocketing career, he’s carved out a lane in the hip-hop realm, as well. Whether it’s inviting rappers on his live streams, calling them up, performing with them, and so much more, rap has a lot of love for the New York native. Most recently, he linked up with another New York native and further proved that he’s an effective tastemaker and an instant way to hype something up. Moreover, Kai and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie recently linked up in the studio, and the rapper played him some new material. Overall, the Twitch giant seemed quite impressed with what he heard, bopping his head throughout and keeping a smile on his face.

On the other hand, the Highbridge MC also had a great time rapping along to his music and commenting a thing or two to Kai Cenat. We can’t hear what they spoke about, but we know one instance remarked how they had the same grey jacket on. Studio session footage is far from a new concept in hip-hop, but it still doesn’t make them any less exciting or fun to witness. After all, many fans would give up an arm and a leg to see their favorite artist in their natural creative element.

A Boogie Brings Kai Cenat To The Studio

What’s more is that Kai Cenat didn’t just tap into the game: it actively supports him. When his giveaway event in NYC devolved into riots, NLE Choppa and Offset came to his defense. It’s still a grey and murky topic, especially given the streamer’s lack of acceptance of personal responsibility in the matter in his public statements. Regardless, this is an opportunity to learn, not a final judgement on his behavior.

Meanwhile, another instance of a rap artist supporting Cenat actually involves another wildly popular streamer. Travis Scott recently voiced his support for the social media star’s efforts to convince Twitch to unban IShowSpeed. We’ll see what other hip-hop adventures are in store for these creators. On that note, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kai Cenat and A Boogie.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s 7 Best Collabs

A Boogie wit da Hoodie has been active in the mainstream Hip Hop space for almost a decade. From dropping songs on SoundCloud in 2015 to releasing his first mixtape in 2016, the rapper rose to one of the most exciting new prospects. Now, he is an established and respected artist in the genre. He has honed his craft and built a splendid discography over time, garnering commercial and critical acclaim along the way. A Boogie is regarded for his artistry and is a sought-after rapper for collaborations.

This assertion is evident in the sheer number of projects he has made guest appearances on over the years. With four studio albums, a mixtape, and three EPs under his belt, A Boogie wit da Hoodie has dropped a good number of collaborations throughout his career so far. He has also made multiple appearances on the Billboard charts, topping the Billboard 200 once. While he has great solo songs, the rapper has done some of his finest work with others.

“Stretch You Out” – Summer Walker feat. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (2019)

This song was released in 2019 as part of Summer Walker’s debut studio album, Over It. The two artists meld their sounds beautifully on this R&B offering that explores themes of desire and relationships. Summer Walker leads with the verse and chorus, sensually singing about her emotions, feelings of insecurity, and dissatisfaction with the behavior of her romantic partner. A Boogie delivers his verse with similar dexterity, gliding over the beat effortlessly as he tries to reassure Summer.

“Numbers” feat. Roddy Ricch, Gunna, & London On Da Track (2020)

This trap tune is one of the biggest collabs from A Boogie’s 2020 album, Artist 2.0. On it, he is joined by fellow rappers Roddy Ricch and Gunna, as well as producer London on da Track. This is the rapper’s highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 to date and one of the most iconic songs in his discography. With the production, London on da Track created a musical buffet on which all three artists feasted, leaving nothing on the table.

“Right Back” – Khalid feat. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (2019)

“Right Back” was first released as a solo single from Khalid’s sophomore studio album, Free Spirit. The version featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie dropped a few months later. The song fuses R&B and Hip Hop elements, showcasing the two artists’ signature styles. Khalid’s smooth vocals blend seamlessly with A Boogie’s to contribute to the laid-back, summery vibe the production already established. With this collaboration, both artists broadened the scope of their sounds a bit more, creating a catchy and unforgettable summer record.

“FAR AWAY II” – Jessie Reyez feat. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & JID (2020)

From the R&B singer’s 2020 album BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US,  Jessie Reyez lulls listeners to ecstatic places with her sultry vocals. She is assisted by A Boogie and fellow rapper JID, who both match her energy, delivering stellar verses. The song is a very successful offering, both cohesive and memorable. It brings together all three artists’ distinct musical styles, creating a smooth and sensual vibe that will certainly resonate with fans of Hip Hop and contemporary R&B.

“Drowning” feat. Kodak Black (2017)

Released in 2017, this is among the earlier releases in his discography. However, it is one of A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s most iconic collabs. It was released as the lead single from his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist. In the song, both artists spit bars about success and fame. They also cover the feeling of being overwhelmed by the pressures that come with them. It is a very personal song; on it, the artists reflect on personal experiences, vividly expressing their emotions through their verses. The song’s production, with its melancholic piano and trap-influenced beat, helps convey the rappers’ messages even more fluently.

“Monica Lewinsky” – SAINt JHN feat. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (2019)

On this standout track from his 2019 sophomore album Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs, SAINt JHN enlists the help of A Boogie wit da Hoodie. The title of the trap and R&B-infused track is used metaphorically to convey a sense of seduction and allure. The song features a heady blend of the artists’ distinct vocal styles, elevated by the sophisticated and groovy production. “Monica Lewinsky” has a catchy chorus that contributes to its appeal, and both artists deliver complementary and memorable verses.

“Demons And Angels” feat. Juice WRLD (2018)

Hoodie SZN, A Boogie’s sophomore album, is the only one in his discography to top the Billboard 200 so far. Released in 2018, the A Boogie album contains some great collabs, including this song with Juice WRLD. The melodic track features an introspective vibe characteristic of Juice WRLD’s style. A Boogie fully exercises his vocal range, creating an interesting contrast with Juice WRLD’s vocal delivery. “Demons and Angels” is a heartfelt and emotive track with honest and relatable lyrics. It is definitely among A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s best collabs ever.
