Gervonta Davis And Ryan Garcia Make Another Bold Promise

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have already taken numerous steps in ensuring that their April 22 bout is going to be the boxing event of the year. The catchweight fight, which pits the reigning WBA lightweight champion against the former interim WBA champion, is already set to be a star-studded Vegas affair. The fight features two undefeated boxers and has the feel of a title fight, despite no belt being on the line.

But Davis and Garcia have also gone out of their way to make the spectacle as hype as possible. Last week, the fighters agreed to make it an all-or-nothing bout. Both will wager their purse on the result, meaning the fight immediately became a winner-takes-all affair. Now, just over 24 hours before the bell rings, they have once again made headlines.

Davis And Garia Vow To Break Each Other’s Jaw

Both fighters spoke to ESPN after their public press conference. Garcia (23-0) envisioned silencing the sold-out crowd at T-Mobile Arena. “I see him getting caught with a left hook, just slept – goodnight,” Garcia said, “One of the most brutal knockouts you’ve seen in many years. And the whole crowd’s just going to go silent and we’re all going to have to take a knee. I see that. Seriously.” Additionally, Garcia is barely speaking hyperbolically. While he has only finished nine of his 23 career fights via knockout, his devastating left hook has become his signature. This includes his last fight in July 2022 against Javier Fortuna.

However, Davis was undeterred by the 24-year-old’s bravado. “All he talks about is that one punch. I only need one, too. I touch that jaw and I’m telling you: you’re going to sleep. I’m going to break your jaw, I promise you. Don’t even bring your mother or your daughter.” Furthermore, Davis has a resume to back up his comment. Davis is a knockout specialist, finishing 26 of 28 fights through KO. Despite the barbs, we will have to wait until Saturday night to find out which of these powerhouse fighters will come out on top. Davis v Garcia: It Doesn’t Get Better Than This is set to start 8pm EDT on April 22.

It’s like hitting the lottery. But when you watch it as a kid, they only show you the skyline and they show you the big buildings and the penthouses and this and that. You thinking you going to heaven, you know what I’m saying? You get here. They sent me to Mott Haven projects into East Tremont Lafontaine by Crotona Park with all the Africans and you just get there and the people downstairs yelling and Spanish people, she hit them with a chair and it was like, “Yo, where am I at? I should’ve stayed in Morocco for this.”

Diddy Had A Lot Of Sex Advice For James Corden On A New ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The Late Late Show With James Corden is quickly coming to an end, as the late-night program is set to wrap up on April 27. Before that, though, Corden is getting some more “Carpool Karaoke” segments under his (seat)belt. Over the past month or so, he’s done installments with Bad Bunny, Lil Nas X, Blackpink, and on yesterday’s (April 20) episode, Diddy. During their drive, Diddy had plenty to say about how Corden should approach sex.

(There appears to be an issue with embedding the video at the moment, but it can still be watched on YouTube.)

Between songs, the conversation got to Diddy’s latest child, his seventh. Corden asked how Diddy came to have yet another child, and Diddy explained it’s because he got back into music and producing R&B again. He went on to note that for love-making purposes, he made a playlist of ’90s songs, describing it as “the Super Bowl of R&B.”

Corden then broke down how he thought he should set the scene, saying, “I go home, I light a candle…” Diddy cut him off, interjecting, “You got to put the red light on, no candle. It may burn down the place.” He also encouraged a phone-free, “off-the-grid” environment during the build-up to intercourse.

At that point is when Diddy encouraged the use of his playlist. This conversation went on for several minutes, and throughout, Diddy painted a detailed picture about how to create a sensual romantic environment.

Raptors Fire Nick Nurse After Five Seasons

Nick Nurse briefly turned the Toronto Raptors into one of the NBA’s hottest brands. Serving with the team since 2013, Nurse took over as head coach in 2018. Despite going 59-23 the previous season, long-time head coach Dwayne Casey was fired after being swept in the Conference Semifinals by Cleveland. Nurse took Toronto all the way to a title in his first season, while also bringing to Kawhi Leonard to Canada.

However, Nurse has never been able to replicate that first-year success. Leonard left for LA in the offseason, meaning the Raptors traded a first-round pick for a championship. That 2019 first-rounder became Keldon Johnson, the Spurs’ leading scorer this past season. After winning 53 games the next season, the Raptors have completely dropped off. They won just 27 games in the 20/21 season and finished with a .500 record in the most recent season. As for the postseason, they lost in the first round in the 21/22 campaign and were outclassed by the Bulls in this year’s Play-In tournament.

Raptors Look To “Reset”

On April 21, the Raptors fired Nurse as head coach. Nurse had one year left on his contract and had met with Team President Masai Ujiri numerous times to discuss the plan going forward. However, it appears that Ujiri had other plans. In a statement, Ujiri said that the decision to move on from Nurse was “an opportunity for us to reset, to refocus, to put into place the personnel and the players who will help us reach our goal of winning our next championship.”

So what’s next for the Raptors, and for Nurse? Sources who spoke to ESPN said that former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is a serious contender to take the Toronto job. Udoka has been a free agent since the Celtics suspended and later fired him for conduct violations. Meanwhile, Nurse may not have to wait long for his next role, as sources say that he is a prominent candidate for the vacant position with the Rockets. However, the move ends an era for the Raptors and the team will now look to find a new direction. The team holds a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.
