Big Boi shared a video and picture of himself meeting up with his Outkast partner, Andre 3000, on Instagram, Saturday night. In doing so, he joked about the rapper’s flute skills following the release of his first solo album, New Blue Sun. The project sees Andre venture away from hip-hop and into ambient music.

“Antwan & Andre Flutie Hoooooo,” Big Boi captioned the post with a UFO emoji. Fans were thrilled to see them together again. “Why does it feel so good seeing them together,” one asked. Another fan wrote: “It’s crazy that in 1995 they told the whole world on stage that the ‘south got something to say’ and they where dismissed.. now they are literal Hip Hop Icons and the south has killed the game as far as quality music and bangers.. manifestation is real.”

The meet-up sparks the obvious question as to whether Big Boi and Andre 3000 will ever work on new music together again as Outkast. Andre addressed that question during an interview with CBS Mornings back in December. “No, to be honest,” he said at the time when asked whether Big Boi has pressed him to team up again. “No but I think because he knows who I am and knows what gets me going, knows what inspires me, knows when I’m excited about something. So I think in that sense, he’s never pushed that issue. But I’m sure like, I want another Outkast album. Yeah, like in my mind – but see, that’s the thing. That’s the human side. I want an OutKast album a long time ago. And honestly for me as an individual, it would be gratifying to me to put out a solo rap situation. But not for nobody else at this point. It’s for me because I actually like the challenge of, ‘How could I make this part of my life interesting and rhyme in words?’ You know what I mean? Like how can I do that? So yeah, it’s still a challenge. So I think hopefully with will and intent, something will happen.”

According To Joe Budden, The ‘Girl Rapper Wave Is Over’ For Several Reasons, But He Did Make A Few Exceptions

Joe Budden is no stranger to controversy. In fact, the musician-turned-media figure’s takes on trending topics on his namesake podcast often land him in hot water. In fact, his past opinions of women rap stars Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion had fans pulling out their pitchforks. Well, Budden’s recent hot take will have them on the attack yet again.

Yesterday (March 2), in a teaser clip for a forthcoming episode, Budden boldly claimed rap fans shouldn’t get excited about the push for women acts. “Y’all ain’t gonna want to hear it from me, but the girl rapper wave is over,” he said. “Just telling you what it is. I’m normally a few months ahead with this stuff, sometimes a few years ahead with this stuff. The girl rapper wave is finito.”

Budden went on to share the reasonings behind his claim. “I think labels are looking at it like, ‘Very few of y’all are selling records, it’s too much work to get your coin back, we got to go do brand deals all over the world with y’all, y’all are expensive, some of y’all are annoying,’ and none of these records are working,” he said.

But all hope isn’t lost, according to him, as there are a select few recording artists that he expects to have longevity. “The cream rises to the top,” he said. “So, Latto shall remain; Flo Milli shall remain; Rapsody will always be there, but she wasn’t really a part of [that scene]. But all of that, ‘Go find a girl, send her to Columbia, get it done, put her in the studio with fucking Mike WiLL [Made-It] or any one of them n****s’ … all that planting the girl in the scene, getting the record and it taking off — that wave is over.”

Tokyo Toni Accuses Cardi B Of Stealing Her Look, Sneak Dissing Her On “Like What (Freestyle)”

It’s no secret that Tokyo Toni has her fair share of issues with Cardi B. After all, she is an avid Nicki Minaj stan, and has even used her platform to connect with the Queen of Rap in the past. Of course, considering her allegiance to Nicki, and budding rap career of her own, supporters have been expecting her to weigh in on Cardi’s new “Like What (Freestyle)” which she dropped last week.

Fortunately, Tokyo came through over the weekend, hitting Instagram Live to share her thoughts on the track with supporters. Almost immediately, the reality star and mother to Blac Chyna grew suspicious, and developed a theory that some shade was thrown her way. According to her, the apparent jab must be an attempt on Cardi’s part to get her to promote the song.

“Did she say red lips?” Tokyo asked, shocked that the alleged diss would be so blatant. “Did she just say red lips? Please somebody find [the lyrics] right now before I lose it.” She went on, insisting that there’s nobody else Cardi could be rapping about, as she’s known for her signature red lips. “Oh my god,” she continued, “She stole my whole sh*t. She stole my whole image on it… You know what? If I didn’t know any better, she wants me to promote this.”

“They think they slick,” Tokyo added. “It just hit me… Who the f*ck wears red lips other than me? There’s Rihanna, but you ain’t talking about no motherf*ckin’ Rihanna, b*tch.
