Kaytranada Clarifies Beyonce Criticism After Fans Come For Him On Social Media
Kaytranada has spoken out on social media after his claim about Beyonce lowballing him for a collaboration request. He has been facing the wrath of the singer’s fanbase on social media after saying in an interview with Vulture that she wanted the rights to his remix of “Cuff It.” He remarked to the outlet: “Sometimes people don’t see your worth and how important you are. I know what I mean to people.”
In a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), he clarified: “Mannnn I didn’t drag her that’s just what happened. The remix didn’t get a release and it is what it is but later that year I opened [for] her on tour AND on her Bday on top of that. Now what? I love that girl & y’all ain’t gonna make me look like I ain’t rocking with her.”

Kaytranada Performs During All Points East In London
It’s not the first time Kaytranada has revealed that a high-profile collaboration fell through. Speaking with Montreality for a previous interview, he explained that Drake requested he work on Honestly, Nevermind, but it never came to fruition. “I met Drake in L.A. one time, and that was it, really. At one point, one of his boys was like, ‘Your boy wants some beats. He’s gonna do a house album.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, sure, hit me up.’ That’s my thing: anybody that wanna work with me, just hit me up. Maybe my reaction rubbed them the wrong way, but I was just saying, ‘Hey, if you’re serious, hit me up, let’s work, for real.’”

Big Sean Suggests The Alchemist Collab Album Is In The Works
Big Sean may have just dropped his new album Better Me Than You, but he’s already thinking about the future. In fact, he has a lot more full-lengths where that came from, and he spoke briefly on them during a new Complex interview. Specifically, the Detroit rapper spoke at one point about the struggles of being a famous musician and how it can stress him out. While reflecting on these emotions, he revealed that one of his perceived weaknesses and difficulties is how he works on a lot of different things at a time. It’s here where fans got a hint about a full-on collab project with The Alchemist.
“I have been burnt out lately because I have chosen to take so much on by doing multiple music projects,” Big Sean told the outlet. “So what I mean by that is my album and then also cooking up with Alchemist too,” he said of the legendary producer behind his recent cut “Together Forever.” In addition, they also collaborated on Larry June’s “Palisades, CA,” and surely have more gems in the vault.

Also, Big Sean spoke on his current ideas for his TWENTY88 duo with his partner Jhené Aiko, as well as other loosies. He suggested that these two categories and others might end up on Better Me Than You or on a forthcoming project. “Conceptually, I got this song I did with KAYTRANADA called ‘My Life’ as the last song,” Sean stated. “That kind of concludes the album from a conceptual standpoint, and it’s basically more so saying it is the light at the end of the tunnel, and I wanted to end it like that.
“But then, after I had already turned it in and was releasing it, I was like, I kind of do want to go one more step further. Maybe even add an alternate ending, how they do with movies and stuff to the album,” Big Sean explained. “I’ve been looking at [the album] as a living, breathing being because I decided to put it out this week. I was going to keep holding onto it. I had a song with Nicki [Minaj] that I was working on. One of the TWENTY88 songs, I was like, ‘Oh, it kind of fits better on the album’. But it wasn’t all the way done yet.”

NBA YoungBoy Links With Rising Country Star Kevin Smiley For “Matador”
Country and hip-hop are crossing paths more than ever nowadays. There are some that we could see working out like mgk and Jelly Roll, for example. However, there is a track that’s been gaining some traction online lately that we didn’t think would ever happen. Today, we are referring to NBA YoungBoy and Kevin Smiley teaming up for “Matador”. The latter is a pretty fresh face, as the 20-year-old has just three songs on his professional resume.
According to HipHopNMore, he hails from a really small town in Florida called Okeechobee and broke onto the scene with “Paralyzed” on May 10. Smiley began to pick up his love for music at a fairly young age due to his mom being artistically inclined. He learned to sing and play guitar at church thanks to his father being a pastor and his mother having wicked piano skills. Perhaps due to their faith, Smiley was not allowed to listen to hip-hop, but instead developed a love for country. Now, all of that homecooked experience and knowledge is being translated into songs like “Matador”. This is one of three singles that will be on his debut EP later this fall. Smiley and YB sing and rap with pain and a sense of tiredness for trying to love someone who doesn’t love them back. It’s a nice blend of emo, country, and trap, and we can foresee Smiley achieving some similar success that Shaboozey has been seeing as of late.

Ice Cube must be feeling pretty annoyed these days, as the Internet wants him to respond to four-year-old comments he made online. Moreover, folks recently resurfaced a September 2020 video of him explaining why the Black community should be skeptical of participating in electoral politics. “Be skeptical of anybody telling you to vote and not telling you to ask for anything or to tell you to just vote and not to get anything for your vote,” the Los Angeles rapper posited. “That’s not how it works. That’s not the process. You don’t vote just to vote. You vote because you’re getting something, or your community is getting something.

Destroy Lonely & Lil Uzi Vert Take You To Another Planet With “LOVE HURTS”
Lil Uzi Vert has been developing a relationship with Opium signees like Destroy Lonely lately. Ken Carson was the most recent name to get the opportunity, as they collaborated on A Great Chaos last year with “Like This”. However, that record also included Destroy Lonely, and we can maybe point to that as the launching pad for him to now be working with Uzi on “LOVE HURTS”. This is one of the two team efforts on the Atlanta, Georgia native’s sophomore album LOVE LASTS FOREVER.
The tracklist was only led by “LUV 4 YA”, and that only had been out for two months prior to the LP’s release on August 30. Regardless of the fairly minimal roll out, this project was awaited by Destroy Lonely and Opium fans. Now that its here, it seems that “LOVE HURTS” might be one of the records that listeners revisit a lot. We say that because like with most emo/rage/trap rap cuts, the atmosphere is perhaps the main selling point. “LOVE HURTS” has that and then some, as it sounds like it was concocted in outer space by higher life forms. You can thank 808 Mafia member Lil 88, as well as yugen and Dylxn for the warped and epic scale this song has. The auto-tune is a little overbearing at times, but Lonely and Uzi do match each other styles very well. Overall, it’s a solid woozy trap cut, no more, no less.

A month ago, Cardi B announced she was pregnant, and over the weekend, she offered an update on her journey by sharing an ultrasound photo of her unborn child. That arrived alongside some maternity photos of Cardi baring her belly as she sits on a motorcycle.
“I wanna meet my little boo boo soo bad already,” Cardi wrote.
