Kendrick Lamar Announced He’ll Perform At The Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

The first Sunday of the 2024 NFL season featured some big news about Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. It has nothing to do with the teams that will end up participating with the Lombardi Trophy on the line, but instead, we now know who will perform in the halftime show.

Kendrick Lamar announced on Sunday via his social media channels and his YouTube page that he will take the stage during halftime of the biggest football game of the year. In the video, which you can see at the top of the post, Lamar feeds footballs into a JUGS machine in front of an oversized American flag before addressing viewers.

“You ready?” Lamar asks. “Exactly. What’s the deal everybody? My name’s Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl LIX. Will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship, no round twos, let’s get it. BOOM. I wouldn’t want you to miss it — meet me in New Orleans, Feb. 9, 2025. Wear your best dress, too, even if you’re watching from home. Let’s go.”

This will not be the first time that Lamar takes the stage at the Super Bowl, as he was part of Dr. Dre’s star-studded halftime show at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles.

Lil Troy Reveals His Mother Had A Stroke Amid His Heart Attack Recovery

Earlier this month, Willie D took to social media with some concerning news, announcing that Lil Troy had suffered a heart attack. “The bad news is, he’s not out of the woods,” he explained. “I spoke to Troy this morning. He is alert, but he’s still in the hospital, where he’s been since Tuesday of last week.” Shortly after, Lil Troy spoke with AllHipHop, providing fans with an update on his health.

“I’m good now. Feeling blessed. I’m going to start speaking about taking our meds and going to the doctor and heart attacks,” he told the outlet. Now, during a recent interview with Fox 26 News, he opened up about the poor lifestyle choices that he thinks led to the heart attack. He also revealed that his mother suffered a health emergency the very same weekend, while he was in the process of recovering.

“I ate all this fried chicken, up all night drinking—that’s what I did,” he described, “I was a rapper, so I was up all night drinking and everything else, not taking care of my body… I thought I was Superman, I wasn’t taking my medicine, thinking I could keep going without eating right.”

Troy continued, “I was in the hospital that Saturday and I called my mom on the phone, just talking to her in general, and she had a stroke while I was on the phone with her. I had to call the ambulance and everything. They brought her to the same hospital I was at on the same floor.” He went on to stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle, sharing that he no longer smokes or drinks. Tyreek Hill Handcuffed Before Dolphins Game For Alleged Traffic Incident

Tyreek Hill made headlines during this year’s off-season for his many children, but he couldn’t escape some extracurricular interest once the regular season kicked off. Moreover, footage emerged on Sunday (September 8) of authorities detaining and handcuffing him in Miami right by the Hard Rock Stadium where his team, the Miami Dolphins, will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in mere minutes at press time. Per TMZ, it looks like this went down hours before kickoff, and that Hill will still play in this game. Police yelled at him while he was face-first on the floor during this detainment, which looks like it was over a speeding violation.

While there are some conflicting reports on the matter, the Miami Dolphins issued a statement shortly after the incident. “Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.” It seems like Rick Rossformer friend is all good now.

Tyreek Hill Detained Before Dolphins Game

Speaking of which, here’s how Tyreek Hill explained his issues with the Maybach Music Group mogul despite their previous friendship. For those unaware, this is because Hill suffered a house fire while he was away and Ross, his neighbor, recorded a firefighter for social media instead of contacting the football star. “Rick Ross, bruh, I can’t vibe with you now. I can’t f**k with you no more… Rick Ross, man, like you ain’t even come over,” he said on The Pivot podcast. “You had the audacity to talk to a fireman instead of — you got my number, bruh. You get on Twitter, posting me all over Twitter. Like after what me and my family went through. You supposed to be the neighbor, the neighborhood hero!”

Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill hasn’t stated anything publicly about this whole thing at press time. He has some other things to address, such as his controversial family life and behavior. But hopefully this situation resolved itself quickly and fairly, as these run-ins with law enforcement are always scary and potentially dangerous. We’ll see what the near future holds as far as updates and revelations.

Kendrick Lamar Responds To Drake In Super Bowl Announcement: “No Round 2s”

For the umpteenth time in 2024, Kendrick Lamar has stopped the hip-hop world in its tracks. He just announced on Sunday (September 8) that he will be the headlining act at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. In his announcement video, K.Dot even made a cheeky and downright dismissive reference to his victory in the Drake battle that raged on just a few months ago. “You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two’s,” he says at one point in the video linked in the post below. This, of course, electrified a lot of fans, whether they are Kendrick fans or not.

Furthermore, this “Round 2” reference is about Drake’s recent IG burner post about “winning Game 2,” which many took as a direct reference to the Kendrick Lamar battle. We don’t know what he actually meant by this, though, as a “Game 2” can mean many different things. Does the 6ix God actually plan on lyrically battling the Compton rapper again or is this more of a symbolic flex about career longevity and commercial success? After all, anyone who truly thought that the OVO mogul’s career would be over after this beef is delusional.

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Announcement

With all this feud discourse in mind, you can already imagine the kind of criticisms and praises that Kendrick Lamar and Drake fans are throwing out in reaction to this. When one fan gets excited about Kendrick stomping on Drizzy for the millionth time, another fan thinks that “Not Like Us” is Mr. Syrup Sandwiches’ only big hit. Nevertheless, this adds to some other teases about the former TDE lyricist’s next moves, including a possible future collab with Playboi Carti. Don’t get your hopes up, though: that’s still purely speculative as of writing this article.

Meanwhile, we can’t wait to see what Kendrick Lamar brings to the Super Bowl halftime show next year, especially as this suggests that he might drop something to pair with it. But that wasn’t the case for Rihanna, so let’s not get our hopes up. In any case, this should definitely mitigate some of the lost momentum that some people attributed to his tardiness. Whether or not any of this actually relates back to the Drake battle remains a mystery, as this announcement suggests that The Boy will be yapping to a brick wall if he tries to re-engage.

Kendrick Lamar Will Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

It goes without saying that it’s been a massive year for Kendrick Lamar. The hitmaker went head-to-head with Drake in what would become one of the most explosive battles hip-hop fans have seen in a while. Of course, this has his supporters more eager than ever to know what his next move will be. Luckily, fans have more of an idea now, thanks to an announcement he just made on Twitter/X.

“Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans,” he wrote simply alongside a YouTube link. The video shows Kendrick positioned in front of a huge American flag, announcing that he’ll be headlining the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is scheduled for February 9, 2025. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he explained. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Kendrick Lamar Delivers Exciting News

This won’t be Kendrick’s first Halftime Show, however, as he was a special guest during Dr. Dre’s showcase back in 2022. Either way, fans can’t wait and are sounding off about the exciting news online. The announcement arrives amid the tremendous success of the Compton-born performer’s track, “Not Like Us.” The song has sold over 5 million units in the United States alone, an impressive milestone for being just four months old. It was the second track to do so this year, per Chart Data.

The announcement also comes just as Drake has been teasing the idea of a second round of their viral rap beef. Late last month, the Toronto artist shared a clip of Rasheed Wallace saying “We will win Game 2” on his burner Instagram account, which many took as a hint at what’s to come. What do you think of Kendrick Lamar announcing that he’s heading Super Bowl LIX? Are you surprised or not? Are you looking forward to his performance? Tia Kemp Tells Rick Ross To Check On Diddy: “You Was On His Nuts!”

Tia Kemp is once again trolling her ex Rick Ross online by bringing up his Diddy connections, a sadly common route of attack in 2024. We say that because of the man unresolved lawsuits against the Bad Boy mogul, as the prevalence of this scandal has made many use it casually without much respect to the alleged victims in question or to Sean Combs’ character. Nevertheless, Kemp asked Rozay to check on his friend, mocking their various parties and previous social media antics. She even roped DJ Khaled into the whole debacle, clearly using any and all links to eviscerate Ross’ close ties.

It’s not the first time that Tia Kemp has spoken about a rap figure’s possible proximity to the Diddy scandal. For example, she theorized that Joe Budden’s criticisms of him and of Yung Miami actually indicate that he’s jealous of their previous relationship. “Yeah, I think these men be mad that she had Diddy and they didn’t,” Kemp responded to the podcaster’s viral rant against the former City Girl. As for the attacks against Rick Ross, those work with the opposite narrative.

Tia Kemp Goes Off On Rick Ross

Speaking of The Biggest Boss, Tia Kemp isn’t his only opponent these days. He’s also kept up his long-standing feud with 50 Cent, who’s also taken many opportunities to clown both him and Diddy together. But Rick Ross can also be on the offensive. “Cuban Link [broken heart emoji],” he commented under a post of Fif explaining his celibacy and praising its outcomes. This refers to how 50 and Cuban Link seemingly broke up, something that Ross quickly trolled him with after she was spotted out with Travis Scott.

Meanwhile, despite Tia Kemp and Rick Ross’ issues, the former would still want to do a reality TV show with him. “Now you need to come over here and we need to do this farm ranch show,” she explained on social media. “They want to see us as a family and ride horses and cattle and all that. Me feeding horses and cows and slapping the s**t outta you with a stack of hay or shovel or something.” It might be cathartic for both…

NLE Choppa Gets Roasted For Bold NYFW Looks

Criticism is certainly nothing new for NLE Choppa, and unfortunately, it’s not limited to just his music and online antics. Over the weekend, the “Slut Me Out 2” rapper has been showing off his bold looks for New York Fashion Week. One of them features a long black skirt and a sheer top, two belts, and a pair of sunglasses. The other features sheer pants and a sheer top, which Choppa paired with various pieces of eye-catching jewelry.

Sadly, critics in 2Cool2Bl0g’s comments section were quick to weigh in on his fits, and most of them were less than impressed. “N***a went lingerie,” one writes. “Alright I’ve seen enough,” someone else says. While many of the comments are negative, others came to his defense, noting how he has a right to wear whatever he wants.

NLE Choppa Shows Off His New York Fashion Week Fits

At the time of writing, NLE Choppa has yet to directly respond to the backlash. Earlier today, however, he took to his Instagram Story to share an inspirational message from his mother, Angela Potts. “People are so afraid to step out of their comfort zone, to come out of that shell, to get out of that box, dare to be different because of what someone else is going to say about them,” she explained. “Keep missing your blessings worrying about an opinion that doesn’t matter anyway.”

Clearly, this is some solid advice for the 21-year-old artist, as his fashion week fits aren’t the only thing earning him backlash these days. Earlier this month, he hopped online to announce that he was “coming out.” Shortly after, he followed up with a Tweet confirming that he was talking about a new project. What do you think of NLE Choppa showing off his looks for New York Fashion Week? Which one is your favorite?
