Saquon Barkley Makes Runway Debut at Hermès NYFW Show

Saquon Barkley, the star running back of the New York Giants, made a stunning runway debut at the Hermès show, celebrating the Men’s Autumn-Winter 2023 collection. The event, held under the artistic direction of Veronique Nichanian, took place at Skylight at the Refinery, an iconic location in the historic heart of Williamsburg.

With the cityscape as a breathtaking backdrop beneath the venue’s shimmering glass dome, the Autumn-Winter collection was unveiled, bathed in warm light as the sun set. Saquon Barkley joined the ranks of models showcasing the latest Hermès creations, turning heads and adding a touch of athletic prowess to the runway.

The star-studded event continued with an exclusive afterparty two floors above the catwalk. Notable personalities, including Taiki Waititi, joined Saquon and the models in celebrating the Hermès Men’s Universe.

For his Fall Winter 2023 look, Saquon Barkley sported a stylish ensemble that included a straight blouson in black 180’s compact wool with a leather back and snap-on clasp, a coffee compact cotton poplin shirt with a high collar and buttoned tab, black stretch cotton drill wide pleated trousers with an elastic waist, and brown calfskin ankle boots, showcasing his impeccable sense of style and adding a dash of sportsmanship to the world of fashion.

ICYMI: LA Native YG Took New York Fashion Week By Storm

Rapper YG came to the east coast and showed out during New York Fashion Week. Sporting dope upscale looks, the west coast native kicked off the week by attending the Palomo Spain SS24 Runway Eckhaus Latta Show, held at the renowned Rockefeller Plaza. He later joined the festivities at the highly-exclusive CR x Dundas New York Fashion Week afterparty, hosted at the iconic Casa Cipriani in New York City. 

The following day, YG made an appearance at the Phillip Lim SS24 Fashion Show and that evening he attended and performed at the highly-exclusive Flaunt Afterparty located at the glamorous Ned NoMad Hotel. The star-studded event welcomed the grammy-nominated artist as he sported a cool leather ensemble by Jean Paul Gautier. On Tuesday the 12th, YG attended the GQ X Christian Louboutin Runway Show and on Wednesday the 13th he wrapped up his NYFW appearances by walking at the Willy Chavarria SS24 Show before performing at the Willy Chavarria afterparty.

Gunna Stunts Front Row At New York Fashion Week In Stylish Black & White Fit

The conversation around Gunna’s alleged snitching isn’t over, but there’s no one less fazed by it than Wunna himself. Moreover, he came back to his career this year following his December release from jail, where he served time for YSL’s RICO case. Now, after a sold-out New York show and a lot of fan acclaim for his new album, the rapper seems more comfortable than ever with popping outside. Not only that, but this heightened profile paired with some of his biggest commercial success to date. The College Park MC’s track “fukumean” recently beat out Drake’s “Search & Rescue” as the most streamed hip-hop song of 2023 in the U.S.

Furthermore, it seems that he wanted to show off his fit and look at other great ones to celebrate. Gunna recently attended the Luar fashion show for New York Fashion Week in the city this week, and looked dapper as ever while doing so. His look combined a lot of blacks and whites, from the top of his beanie all the way down to his kicks. Even if the 30-year-old’s career isn’t what it used to be, it’s far too early and successful right now to predict whether it’ll be even bigger than it ever was in the future.

What’s more is that, when it comes to that “snitching” conversation, people close to both him and Young Thug have denied any bad blood. For example, Thugger’s father remarked during an interview with Infamous Sylvia that his Drip or Drown protégé is all good with them. “I love Gunna,” Jeffery Williams Sr. stated, further addressing the actual implications of his plea deal in the case. “Gunna hasn’t done anything whatsoever that can hurt us on this case. Period.”

Meanwhile, this is a conversation that the “turned your back” spitter wants to lay to rest, too. During his recent concert, he gave a birthday shoutout to King Slime and called for his freedom with his stage design. There’s been tension brewing between her and Latto as the latter seemed to take inspiration from some of Spice’s outfits. Nevertheless, nothing serious has erupted between them yet.

Rather than allowing haters to hold her back, the “Butterfly Ku” lyricist has learned how to troll them right back. After catching a video of the East Coast icon turning up at NYFW with Doja Cat and other friends earlier this week, one Twitter user had some feedback for Spice and her crochet dress. “Ice… It’s urgent we get you [an] everyday stylist!” they pleaded with the rap diva.

Ice Spice linked up with both Coi Leray and Kali Uchis during New York Fashion Week. The three artists all sat front row for Dion Lee during an event on Saturday night. Afterward, they shared pictures from the meet-up on social media. Diplo and Lourdes Leon were also in attendance.

“Me and @icespicee_ hair colors,” Coi Leray captioned a photo of herself and the New York rapper. She added several heart eyes emojis. Ice Spice also shared a series of pics from the night on Instagram, one of which features Kalis Uchis. In addition to attending the event, Ice Spice also performed at the brand’s afterparty in Manhattan’s Boom Boom Room.

Ice Spice has been in the midst of a huge year for her career. After blowing up in 2022, following the success of “Munch (Feelin’ U),” she’s continued to dominate headlines in 2023. Back in May, she graced the stage alongside Taylor Swift at one of the singer’s concerts on her Eras Tour. “I was like, ‘You f— with my project? Like, what?’” Ice Spice told The Guardian when asked about how their relationship came together. “She’s so sweet — I was so obsessed with how humble she was and willing to work. Last night, Pulitzer Prize winning author, Mitchell S. Jackson, award-winning filmmaker Crystal McCrary McGuire and Founder & CEO of FYI Brand Group Tammy Brook, joined forces to present “Between the Lines,” a riveting discussion at the intersection of fashion, sports, and activism. Mitchell S. Jackson took center stage to showcase iconic style evolution photos, conduct a reading of his latest book Fly: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion, and open a vibrant dialogue with New York Fashion week as a backdrop.

This event was held at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York, a cultural institution and public research library devoted to the research and preservation of global black experiences and history. Established in 1926, the center’s collection now boasts over 11 million items, including manuscripts, recordings, and photographs. The panel of speakers were joined by the associate director, producer, president, and other staff from the Schomburg Center. In attendance were former NYC mayoral candidate Ray McGuire, Tom Kalenderian, of Italian luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna, NBA agent Javon Phillips, fashion designer Kai Wonder, and more.

Quavo Delights Fans With Surprise Concert In New York City

Quavo drew a massive crowd in the center of New York City as the former Migos rapper pulled up for an impromptu concert. The Atlanta rapper is in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week but decided to make some headlines away from the runways. In a clip uploaded to social media, Quavo could be heard performing “Hotel Lobby” to the assembled crowd. Furthermore, the concert appears to come courtesy of SideTalk NYC, the viral “one-minute street interview” show.

Fans were overjoyed by the surprise concert. Additionally, many were surprised (and excited) to see that True Religion, Quavo’s fashion line, may be making a return. “If you stopped wearing Tru because rappers did you corny 😂😂😂,” one person said. “Damn… true religion back??? I just roasted a Walmart worker for ….. nvm… Go crazy,” added another. However, some people pointed out the double standard that Quavo could do this and be fine but Kai Cenat was arrested for “the same thing”. On this note – the Quavo concert was probably planned, while the Cenat giveaway was not. Meanwhile, people were not fully rioting at Quavo’s concert.

Quavo Demands Industry Change

However, aside from tearing up in NYC, he has been pushing for some industry change recently. “Platforms need a mixtape outlet for US,” Quavo recently tweeted on Friday (September 8). “So we can blitz the market like lil Wayne Gucci future and MIGOS did! tired of holding all this HEATTTT #RocketPower Powered Up. Havin plenty to go back to back to back!” Quavo said on social media this week. His biggest issue with the current state of streaming is that an impromptu mixtape can no longer be dropped as most platforms treat it like a formal commercial release.

Elsewhere, the rapper has also dropped another music video from his recent Rocket Power release. The video for “Galaxy” features Quavo and the female subject of the song taking in the life and culture of a Favela-esque backdrop. Rocket Power has been a fairly modest success. Severing as a tribute to TakeOff, the album peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200.

Ice Spice Shows Off Futuristic Silver Fit For Marc Jacobs NYFW Performance

Ice Spice recently performed at Marc Jacobs’ New York Fashion Week show. In clips circulating online, she’s seen performing “Deli” from the deluxe edition of her Like..? EP. The 23-year-old showed off her outfit on Twitter, rocking an all silver look in line with the brand’s “AI-inspired” fall 2023 collection. She complimented the mini skirt and matching crop top with a pair of chunky white platform heels, similar to those worn by the models on the runway. Ice Spice tied everything together with a Marc Jacobs shoulder bag and some silver jewelry.

This isn’t the first time Ice Spice has teamed up with Marc Jacobs. Earlier this year, the NYC-born performer starred in her first ever fashion campaign for the brand’s spring 2023 Heaven collection. She posed in the desert for the photoshoot, showing off various Y2K-inspired looks. From the looks of her comments section, fans are loving her latest NYFW fit.

Repping Marc Jacobs again isn’t the only thing Ice Spice has to be excited about. Earlier this week, BMI honored her with their first-ever Impact Award. She’s also still hot off the success of her hit collaboration with Nicki Minaj for the Barbie movie, “Barbie World.” At the end of last month, the duo broke the record for the biggest jump to No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart since 1992.

In August, Ice Spice was also honored with Billboard’s 2023 R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year award. She accepted her award at the Novo in LA, and her speech managed to get social media users talking. She thanked those who helped her reach the point she’s at in her career, closing the speech with “And my fans, thank you to my fans, period.” Some thought she was giving a nod to Latto’s viral 2023 BET Awards moment, but that remains unconfirmed.
