The UFC organization is being called everything from insensitive to racist after they aired a broadcast where boxer Terence Crawford was mistaken for famed Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar.
The “Not Like Us” lyricist spit this verse on “Euphoria”, saying, “I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whooping feet.” Many people laughed at the coincidence of his predictions, but they still launched a campaign accusing the UFC of racism, which is understandable. Crawford and Lamar are in two different forms of entertainment, and no insult to either, but the two personalities do not look alike at all.
Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the highly anticipated release of The Fire Inside, a biopic based on the inspirational true story of two-time Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist Claressa Shields.
Directed by Academy Award® nominee Rachel Morrison and written by Academy Award® winner Barry Jenkins, the film stars Ryan Destiny as Shields and Academy Award® nominee Brian Tyree Henry.
The film recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), earning a standing ovation and debuting on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 100% critics rating.
The film’s logline reads: THE FIRE INSIDE is the inspirational true story of Claressa Shields, arguably the greatest female boxer of all time. Claressa, a high school Junior from Flint, Michigan, aided by her tough-love coach, Jason Crutchfield, pushes past all limitations to become the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. But even at the pinnacle of success, Claressa has to reckon with the fact that not all dreams are created equal, and the real fight has only just begun.
The official trailer showcases the incredible journey of Shields, who overcame immense odds to become one of the greatest boxers in history. The Fire Inside promises to inspire audiences with its powerful portrayal of resilience and triumph.
Pharrell is pushing his Something In the Water festival to 2025. Originally set for April 2024, it was moved to October. The fest will be presented to Virginia in 2025.
“Dearest Virginia, I love you with all my heart,” Pharrell wrote on Instagram. “Nobody loves you more than I do. Virginia doesn’t deserve better, Virginia deserves THE BEST. So SOMETHING IN THE WATER has to match that. It just isn’t ready yet. GloRilla is teasing her debut album. Speaking with Extra TV, Big Glo revealed the album will come in October. “I’m so excited about that. We gon’ go number one!”
Speaking on the album, Glo revealed it starts with a “G” but does not go any further.

Less than 24 hours after Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, signing off as a childless cat lady, Elon Musk oddly offered to give her a baby.

Now if you behind on the times, it was clearly a nod to previous remarks made by Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, who referred to Harris as a “childless cat lady” during his campaign.
That was a genius move btw. Tapping JD Vance as Trump’s running mate. That’s really working out well for them.
What’s more, Swift took the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to urge her audience to “do your research” on the candidates and the election, emphasizing the importance of informed voting. She also addressed the circulation of AI-generated images falsely portraying her as a Trump supporter. Swift remarked that seeing those misleading images prompted her to clarify her position, saying, “I need to be very transparent about my actual plans.”
In no time, the surging Harris campaign quickly responded to Swift’s endorsement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). They celebrated by highlighting friendship bracelets that symbolized the close connection between Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Why this matter, the bracelets served as a nod to Swift’s own diehard fan culture and influence during the election season.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.
Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.
I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. Nicki Minaj went off on a reporter on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday after he asked her a question about “unity.” She had been speaking with DTLR radio host Fadam Got Da Juice when she argued that everyone will always have disagreements with one another. “Do we have unity amongst human beings? Like, if its eight billion people in the world, imagine thinking all eight billion people gon’ get along with each other,” Minaj explained. “I used to be a waitress. It was a bunch of people not getting along in there. I mean, no matter where you go, you’re going to be at odds with people. I think the point, though, is when you get to a place where nothing around you affects what’s inside of you.”
When Elliott Wilson congratulated him on landing the interview, he wrote back: “She ducked the smoke on the question man. I had to take the shot though.” Minaj eventually caught a repost of the comment online and wrote in response: “The obsession. Only thing I ducked was his fkng breath. When The Shade Room shared the back-and-forth on Instagram, many of Minaj’s fans came to her defense. “He asked a question she answered it. He then tried to be funny on the internet and she came back funnier. Play stupid games win stupid prizes,” one user wrote. Another added: “How did she duck the question? Some of the Barbz have not been too happy with their queen, Nicki Minaj. Over the weekend, the superstar rapper had to deal with concertgoers demanding refunds. They had been voicing their frustrations over her starting shows late, alleged lip-syncing, and not performing certain songs. Peewee Longway was among a total of 101 people that police in Columbus, Georgia on Friday in a major drug bust. In the raid, authorities seized a total of 7.1 kilograms of fentanyl, 57.21 kilograms of cocaine, 55,248 pounds of marijuana, and 1.3 kilograms of heroin. Altogether, the drugs are reportedly valued at over $200 million. Multiple federal, local, and state agencies worked together in the bust, with the FBI bringing in 250 agents and analysts to assist.
Discussing “Operation Sweet Silence,” Sheriff Greg Countryman used the opportunity to demand an end to gang activity in Columbus. “If you’re involved in criminal activity, I want to send this message to you. Just because your name was not caught in the arrest yesterday, I don’t want you to relapse,” Countryman said, as caught by Complex. “I don’t want you to breathe a breath of fresh air, a sigh of relief, because our work is not done. Just because you were not arrested does not mean that we’re not looking at you. So don’t get too comfortable because our work is not finished.”

Longway’s exact role in the allegations remains unclear. On social media, fans have been sharing supportive messages. “We all know PeeWee Longway don’t talk to the Feds,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote. Another posted: “That Migos, Rich Homie Quan, Peewee Longway, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, & Young Thug era really died in front of our eyes in a couple years… 14 year old me sad rn.” Others called for his freedom.
