Michael Rubin’s White Party this year on Thursday (Fourth of July) was an absolute smash with far too many A-list stars to name in attendance. Drake was there, most likely coping through a great time with the release of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video dissing him into the dirt. But there were a lot of other celebrities there that weren’t encumbered by rap beefs, including a new friend duo that provoked plenty of laughs on the Internet. Travis Scott and Jake Paul appeared in a viral clip, and the Houston rapper became particularly animated in a way that seemingly took Paul by surprise.

Furthermore, this is just one of many windows into this White Party, including Yeat’s many link-ups, Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla’s performance, and Druski chilling with Tom Brady and Leonardo DiCaprio. Before this event, Travis Scott played some beach football with Quavo, Brady, and more for some pre-party fun, and these crossovers are very cool to see. We can only wonder what else everyone got up to during the festivities. After all, there are way too many egos in the mix for some shenanigans to go unnoticed.

Of course, we can also imagine that Travis Scott was quite happy to pop out and see all his friends after some recent turbulence. In the past few weeks, some new details have emerged about his Miami arrest, including some sources who claim that the whole situation occurred due to forgotten items that he had left behind at a yacht. That was a pretty bizarre moment to witness, and fortunately it seems like La Flame avoided a big hassle and everything resolved smoothly. Just goes to show that some party animals need a downer before getting right back into the action.

Meanwhile, fans are pretty excited about a potential Don Toliver and Travis Scott collab album. While the chances for this don’t look amazing, some recent statements from Don give fans a little bit more hope. They dropped albums relatively recently, and if they come through with something big soon, they would keep up a wild work ethic. July 4 turned out to be a hood holiday as Kendrick Lamar released his celebratory video for “Not Like Us.” Unlike its combative content, the video had a much more playful and boisterous vibe, with Kendrick bouncing around his hometown, Compton, accompanied by seemingly half the city’s residents.

The video brought more than good vibes, though; some fans are absolutely convinced that Kendrick not only danced on his rival Drake’s metaphorical grave, but also revealed the date of his next album’s release.

In one scene clip, Kendrick is seen wearing a blue windbreaker, with fans reading the lettering on its right breast as “8/8/2024.” As noted by the fan below, that date would fall on a Thursday, and thanks to the time difference between the coasts, technically a Friday release for New York would be on Thursday for Compton.

However, that theory was quickly shot down by more fashion-savvy users, who pointed out that the Martine Rose jacket actually reads “S/S 2024” — i.e., that it’s from the British-Jamaican menswear designer’s spring/summer collection.

Now, whether Kendrick even has an album coming out remains to be seen. Fans have been asking for a full release of the snippet from the beginning of the “Not Like Us” video, but let’s be honest: we still haven’t gotten the song from “Alright” video’s interlude, nearly 10 years later, so even if there was a new album coming out, that joint probably ain’t on it. Gucci Mane is looking for artists. Yesterday (July 5), the “There I Go” rapper posted an open call to his official Instagram page.

In the clip, Gucci expressed his desire to sign two new acts (one woman and one man) to his record label. “Who wanna be tha next millionaire,” he wrote. “I got $2 million ready! 1milli for tha next male SUPERSTAR & $1 million for tha next female SUPERSTAR! I gotta a brand new record label, SO ICY MILLIONAIRE! Tag the hottest unsigned artists now & DM ME! #SoIcyMillionaire,”

Typically, artists would jump at the opportunity to gain the backing of a hip-hop heavyweight like, Gucci. However, many users online have begun to urge independent acts to stay far away from the dotted line.

Trae Tha Truth Hops On A Remix Of The Titular Track By J. Cole

J. Cole’s Might Delete Later project was one the biggest moments in hip-hop this year. It was preceded by several vlogs on the North Carolina rapper’s YouTube of the same name. It surprised many, as no one thought they would culminate into a full collection of tracks. Unfortunately, the collection of B-sides sort of came and went for a lot of people, with the actually deleted “7 Minute Drill” playing a big role. The futile Kendrick Lamar diss track did not come across as authentic and it led to the infamous J. Cole apology at Dreamville Fest. However, it did spawn a few highlights like “Trae Tha Truth in Ibiza” which now has a remix.

Overall, the original song does not have anything to do with the Houston rapper. J. Cole is more so talking about he is fed up with the labels and expectations. The on-brand themes and fantastic lyricism make it a standout and this remix is equally as fulfilling. Trae Tha Truth sticks to the program, as his verse sees him get real about his career and his future plans. Tory Lanez is still giving fans some heat even though he remains behind bars in the form of the “(Lost Tapes)”. These are a handful of tracks that were recorded by the Canadian melodic rapper in 2016. Both “Girls Around The World” and “I’ve Been” are also self-produced, along with some help from his frequent collaborator, Play Picasso. The latter has helped make some of the rapper/singer’s biggest tracks such as “Traphouse” “LUV” and more. Their chemistry is highly underrated and if you have not heard a lot of their work together, we highly recommend you check out their catalog.

Overall, these two “Lost Tapes” cuts from Tory Lanez see him in his R&B bag. Fans debate back and forth whether or not they think singing Tory or rapping Tory is better. It is certainly a tough question to answer, and that versatility is why the Canadian has gained such a following over the years. On “Girls Around The World”, he experiments with the Afrobeats genre as he swoons over women from Africa. Then on “I’ve Been”, Tory is trying to win back a former lover over a sexier and moodier club-ready beat. Hopefully, these two “Lost Tapes” are a part of a full project of the same.

Azealia Banks is one of the most outspoken people to ever grace the Internet, but she’s not always on the offensive online. Moreover, if you’ve been on social media today, you might have seen some alleged court documents spreading online supposedly showing that she was allegedly evicted from her Florida home for about $8K in unpaid rent. Apparently, the rapper said she didn’t pay rent due to a rat infestation and sued the homeowners for $50K for harassment. She then denied this rumor outright on social media, which posited that she had 72 hours to vacate the premises, and explained her side of the story.

“Ummm, this is a lie,” Azealia Banks shared on her Instagram Story on Friday (July 5), captioning a screenshot of a report on this eviction rumor from Pop Tingz on Twitter. “Lmao these Miami landlords be despeeeeraaaate. I’ve already moved CXO HQ to 7995 SW 154th Terrace, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. Lmao why do these tostones grease bathing white wannabes in Miami really think I’m gonna play with them? Logic Reveals The Drop Date & Tracklist For Sought After LP “Ultra 85”

Prolific Maryland rapper Logic is finally ready to unleash Ultra 85 and it is coming very soon. According to the NFR Podcast‘s X account, the album will release on August 9th and possess 20 tracks. Fans of his know that he has already previewed the project three times over the last five months. Logic has dropped “Fear”, “44ever”, and “Deja Vu”, which is the most recent of the trio. According to Genius, this will supposedly be the veteran’s final album, but we know happened after No Pressure in 2020. He went on to release several fan-fare mixtapes and singles, so who really knows what is in store Logic following this.

Just like his future, the chance of Ultra 85 existing was also in limbo for many years. Some of his fans have even claimed that they have been waiting on this since the mid 2010s. With Logic being so hard to read overall, it is no surprise that this project has taken so long to come to fruition. If this indeed his going away gift to his fans, then we hope it will be one of his best yet. For the speedy lyricist, Ultra 85 is supposedly also going to be the conclusion to the storyline on 2017’s Everybody.

If you remember, it was about how Atom, voiced by BigVon, dies in a car crash and is reincarnated by God, played by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Everyone else also receives the same treatment. Each song is every perspective that Atom has lived through, which ties into the themes of Everybody, which is Logic’s experiences of being black and white. It is something that has divided listeners over the years, but time and time again, people still come back to his music. A lot more should do the exact same for Ultra 85 as well.

Birdman Hopes Drake Will Pull Up To Perform At Cash Money Reunion Set At Essence Fest

Birdman is hosting a Cash Money reunion at New Orleans, Louisiana’s 30th anniversary rendition of the Essence Festival on Friday (July 5), and the festival’s been running since Thursday, July 4 and will continue through Sunday. Moreover, it will probably be a star-studded and very special affair to witness alongside Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, and more, and the record label’s co-CEO and cofounder emailed Billboard about how excited he is for it. In addition, he also hinted at Young Money icon Drake pulling up for an appearance, which would be very notable since Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video just dropped.

“It’s been 15, 20 years since we’ve been onstage together,” Birdman remarked. “We’ve got a great production and some special guests. It’s going to be amazing! We are working on a few things that we can’t talk about yet. But I can promise you that it’s going to be a night to remember. We’re excited to be a part of the Essence Festival … We’re going to bring the energy; we’re going to have a good time. And we’re going to make sure the crowd has a good time, too.” “Everybody you thinking of as far as Cash Money will be there,” he told People for a July 4 piece. “But, also a lot of people that started with me when we was young in the game.
