Kanye West & Bianca Censori Relax At A Science Museum On Fourth Of July Amid Lawsuits

Kanye West and Bianca Censori must be pretty stressed out these days, what with multiple lawsuits currently against Ye that name-drop her and an unfulfilled album trilogy. But they were ready to just relax amid the maelstrom and have some educational and intellectually curious fun at a science museum. Moreover, the couple visited San Francisco’s Exploratorium on Thursday (Fourth of July), hitting up mirror exhibits, taking all the knowledge in, and strolling through the premises like us regular folk. Reportedly, according to TMZ, most people left them to their privacy, and the Chicago rapper donned an an almost all-white ensemble that made him look like an astronaut as his wife wore a blue strapless top, leggings, and heels.

Furthermore, this visit seemed like a pretty fun one, and hopefully Kanye West and Bianca Censori enjoyed it before getting right back to accountability issues. However, the lawsuits aren’t the only thing that drummed up some controversy as of late, as a recent Moscow visit turned a lot of heads. In fact, this even led the nation of Ukraine to deem Ye as an enemy of their people, considering the conflict that Russia engaged them with over the past several years. Somehow, it’s not the wildest crossover into politics we’ve seen from him.

In addition, fans are recently looking at old Kanye West comments about Nicki Minaj during a lecture that comprised of heaps of praise. “One of the most memorable things about My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was Nicki Minaj,” he recalled. “And the fact that she kicked my a** on my song. On one of the best albums… the best album.” Considering the state of their collaborative bond now, fans long for simpler days.

Meanwhile, Kanye West’s former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos reportedly took further steps to blast the new lawsuit against them from former employees. He claimed that Bianca Censori denied sending adult content to an app development team member who was a minor, as the lawsuit alleges. We have no idea whether or not this case will make the whole court circuit or if these parties will be able to reach an agreement. Either way, we’re sure it’s far from the last wild Ye story that will emerge this year, so quaint moments like a museum visit are a welcome break, photos of which you can see with the “Via” link down below.

Shordie Shordie & 03 Greedo Deliver A Breezy West Coast Groove On “Ride With You”

Shordie Shordie and 03 Greedo are riding into the sunset with this new single “Ride With You”. The former and the latter are known for their summery and bouncy cuts, so hearing them collab is the perfect recipe. These two do not have extensive chemistry together, however they do have previous work out there. One of them came in 2020 off 03’s tape Load It Up Vol. 01. However, the most recent evidence dropped last year off Shordie’s A Life For Two. On each of these tracks, the Baltimore, Maryland and Watts, California natives delivered different soundscapes. “Remember Me Sober” shares a lot of similarities to “Ride With You”, as it is more of a melodic West Coast nod. Conversely, “Baccstage” is a little darker and sees each rapper get more aggressive with their deliveries.

Overall, we feel that this more easy-going sound fits the duo better, as it allows them to be a little more versatile. For example, the instrumental on “Ride With You” allows for Shordie Shordie and 03 Greedo to be more flexible with their approach. They could either go with lowkey rap flows, or opt for a melodic crooning vibe. The latter is what they go with and at various points, Shordie and Greedo are even singing together. In terms of where this single falls into place for the versatile artists, the former is coming off a fun rerelease of another 2023 LP.

The “B****uary” MC dropped a rapper/producer tape with famed beat crafter Murda Beatz called Memory Lane 2. It is their second tape in their series, and they took that offering on tour. Finding set lists can be a chore, but they made it easy by sequencing the order they performed them in. As for 03 Greedo, he has been having a prolific 2024. He has been on a strong feature run (Mach-Hommy, Maxo Kream, etc.) and has several loose tapes on the internet as well.

Heembeezy And Skilla Baby Bring Menace To “They Wanna See Me”

Heembeezy is all about nonchalance. The rapper has a persistent, laid-back flow that makes him sound unbothered on any beat. It’s part of his appeal. His vocals mesh well with menacing production and the kind of outsized threats that 21 Savage got famous making. “They Wanna See Me” is the Heembeezy playbook executed perfectly. The song sees the Los Angeles rapper trash-talk his enemies while Skilla Baby matches his metronome delivery. What more could you want?

Some of the bars on “They Wanna See Me” are memorable. There’s a bleakness to Heembeezy’s first verse, especially when it comes time for him to talk about betrayal within his circle. There’s no love lost for anybody, and Skilla Baby keeps things going strong on the second half of the song. Skilla definitely has more expression in his voice, but he manages to maintain the menacing vibe with bars about Derek Jeter and gunplay. He also pulls out an unexpected Amy Winehouse bar. It’s exactly what you think it is in terms of subject matter. The real star of “They Wanna See Me,” though, is the production. The bass hits so hard, and the drums are so persistent that it lulls the viewer into a nearly hypnotic state. Heembeezy often lives and dies on the strength of his production, and everybody came through on this one.

MGK Gets Extra Personal On “Hotel Diablo: Floor 13 Edition”

MGK is at an interesting point in his career. He found success as a rapper, then pivoted to pop punk. Now, he’s attempting to combine these genres into something uniquely him. The standard version of Hotel Diablo was mostly successful in doing this, but the deluxe version, aka Floor 13 Edition, proves that there’s even more to MGK’s stylistic fluidity than originally thought. There are six extra songs on Hotel Diablo: Floor 13 Edition, and they showcase impressive range in terms of tone and topic. The Ronny J beat on “El Pistolero” is going to make it an obvious standout for rap fans. It’s one of the best songs on the whole album.

Things get woozier and more reflective as the Floor 13 Edition wears on. “Bullets with Names” carries over the horns from “El Pistolero,” but have a more wistful feel to them. MGK also manages to secure a solid Young Thug feature. “FLOOR 13” is a live performance of the titular song, and it showcases MGK’s abilities as a rhymer and rocker simultaneously. The fans who like Tickets to My Downfall MGK will adore the last couple songs on the album. They are remixes of pre-existing Hotel Diablo songs, but the “sad version.” There’s acoustic guitars and dramatic strings added to “I Think I’m OKAY” and “Glass House.” The former is more successful, thanks to the YUNGBLUD feature, but all the “sad versions” are solid in their own right. Overall, an improvement on the original album.

Lil Peep’s New Single “Lil Angel” Is A Reminder Of His Unique Talent

Lil Peep’s death was a tremendous loss for hip-hop. The rapper’s ability to blend disparate genres and sounds into a cohesive, compelling whole was unrivaled. He was one of the most unique voices to come out of the Soundcloud generation. Peep’s new song, “Lil Angel,” is a bittersweet reminder of this. It’s the latest posthumous release from the rapper, and another collaboration between him and producer Lederrick. It’s also a great song.

“Lil Angel” starts differently than the original 2016 version. The audio of Lil Peep playing the song “Roses on the Dresser” was removed due to sample clearances. In its place is a snippet of the rapper sounding extremely contemplative. “I’on know, I’on know where to start,” he says. “I’m over here and it’s just.” The rest of the song sounds like the original, complete with Lederrick’s producer tag and his moody beat. Lil Peep’s wildly catchy chorus kicks the song off, in which he claims that California helped him write it. The rapper talking about demons is particularly difficult, given the circumstances in which he died, but it does definitely validate the line’s authenticity. “Lil Angel” is an appropriate single to roll out how, given the impact that Lil Peep has had on so many after his death.

JAY-Z Buys Stake In Luxury Watch Marketplace Wristcheck

JAY-Z is the rap businessman. Other artists have been successful, but nobody else has made the business side of things such an explicit part of their persona. He backs up in real life, too. The Brooklyn icon has invested in the luxury watch marketplace Wristcheck. He bought a $5 million in the company, which was founded by Austen Chu in 2020. The rapper joins a prestigious list of Wrist Check investors, including Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, K3 Venture and Gobi Partners GBA.

Austen Chu announced the deal on July 3. He issued a statement praising JAY-Z and his exposure he’s given to luxury watches in his lyrics. He also cited the rapper as an inspiration on his business mindset. “As an entrepreneur, JAY-Z has always been an inspiration to me,” he wrote. “I remember growing up to his music. His lyrics not only introduced me to watch brands like Audemars Piguet, but also fueled my love for watches even further… He bridged the gap between watches and pop culture.”

Wristcheck CEO Praised JAY-Z’s Enormous Influence

The praise didn’t stop there. Chu also cited JAY-Z’s enormous influence as something that will boost the Wristcheck profile moving forward. “[He’s] the most influential celebrity watch collector of the 21st century and a certified G.O.A.T.,” Chu explained. “His support carries immense weight both personally and professionally. It’s a testament to the trust and community we’ve built. And marks a major milestone in cementing Wristcheck as the go-to platform for watch enthusiasts worldwide.”

Chu is not wrong in overstating JAY-Z’s association with watches. The rapper has spent decades putting fans onto brands and names they wouldn’t have heard otherwise. The association even applies to other rappers. N.O.R.E. claimed that he always consults Jay before he buys a new watch. “I won’t buy a watch unless I speak to certain people,” he told the Wrist Check podcast. “JAY-Z’s top of the list. He does not answer me all the time. But I think that’s respect. I think that if he doesn’t like the watch, he won’t say, ‘N.O.R.E., don’t do that.’”

Playboi Carti Promises Fans That His New Album Is Coming: Watch

Playboi Carti fans are nothing if not patient. The rollout for his last album, Whole Lotta Red, was one of the longest and most protracted in recent memory. The rollout for his next album has been more of the same. That being said, a release date might be in site. Playboi Carti performed at Splash! Festival on July 5th, and he surprised everyone by addressing the album delay. Not only that, but he made a promise to fans they will get to hear it soon.

Carti is known for his aggressive stage presence. It made sense, then, that he dropped his bombshell news while screaming at the top of his lungs. “I promise you,” he told the fans. “The album is coming.” The rapper didn’t stop there. “So it’s only right,” he explained. “That I come here tonight and give you a world premiere.” He then decided to treat fans to the first full performance of the song “All Red,” which is expected to be on the untitled album. Playboi Carti has given fans lots of reason to be hopeful for a new album soon, with all the teasers and snippets. That being said, this is the most encouraging piece of info shared yet.

Playboi Carti Premiered The Song “All Red” At Splash! Festival

Cardo, who has collaborated with Playboi Carti for years, talked about the album’s lengthy making during a recent interview. The producer claimed he was traveling to Atlanta to put the finishing touches on the album. He also revealed that he’s been working on the album for four years, which is even before Carti announced it. Playboi Carti is obviously not a rush. In November, the rapper told Numéro Berlin that he spent three months in a cave. He claimed he wanted to see what the acoustics of a cave would sound like on record.

“I really try to stay out my head,” Playboi Carti told the outlet. “I try to stay out my phone and I just try to lock in. I’m in my surroundings. I’ve been recording in Paris. I love Paris. I was recording in a cave for like three months and all the music that came out of that is just chaotic and crazy.” It’s safe to assume sonic experiments like this are what has led to the album’s delay. That being said, the aforementioned leaks suggest that the wait will be worth it.
