Eminem Mocks Drake And LeBron James’ Infamous “The Shop” Clip

Eminem channeled Drake and LeBron James during his appearance on Complex’s The Face-Off series, on Tuesday, to mock the infamous encounter between the two on HBO’s The Shop. Drake famously recalled texting the NBA legend about whether he had let him down, to which James remarked that he could never let him down. With his Face-Off appearance, Eminem went head to head with his alter ego, Slim Shady.

“Look man, did you text me after ‘awfully hot coffee pot’ or not?” Shady asks Eminem in the viral clip, referencing his 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards cypher. Fans have been sharing laughs about the joke on social media. “That Drake clip is still crazy to this day,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote. Another remarked: “LeBron is only two years older than Drake bro this clip is crazy.” The interview comes as the Detroit rapper continues to promote his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

Elsewhere in the interview, he goes head-to-head with Shady to discuss his relevancy. “Everything that people think of when they think of Eminem is f*cking yours truly. From the blonde hair to the middle finger to the f*cking jokes — all of it, me. And if we’re being honest, the music that you’ve been dropping since I bounced ain’t it. Look man, nobody gives a f**k about your lyrical miracles you’re scaring the hoes. People wanna be entertained,” Shady tells Eminem at one point. He retorts: “So you think it’s entertaining to just be a d*ckhead and piss people off? Every other week on TikTok, Gen Z discovers you on Monday and cancels me on Tuesday. When’s the last time you took a shot at someone who wasn’t a pop star, a non-rapping celebrity, [or] f*cking marginalized communities?”

Kodak Black’s personal life, sadly, is one of inconsistency. It seems like when he’s about to turn over a new leaf, he reverts back to his head-scratching habits. To clarify, though, we are certainly not saying that overcoming steady issues are easy. It’s why seeing Kodak Black seemingly take pills once again is truly a sad sight to witness. According to HipHopDX, the Pompano Beach, Florida rapper did so via Instagram Live. Watching the clip, it seems to be the same one where he was offering cheaper features and a discounted birthday party performance. The supposed pill popping appears to take happen before the price negotiations were the topic of discussion. Kodak does note that he’s been feeling much better since embarking on his sobriety excursion.

However, it seems something overcame him mentally for him to go through with this decision. After the reshared clip blurs out the pills in his hand, as well as his face, Black says that he’s “finna glitch real quick”. Hopefully, this means that it’s a one-and-done scenario. But one slip-up could cause him to spiral. As we said, this is disheartening to see, especially with so many fans highlighting the fact that Kodak looks better physically since he’s gone clean.

In one viral moment from the video, Shady trolls Eminem for making “lyrical miracle” raps and not focusing on producing entertaining songs.

Luh Tyler and Bossman Dlow are both rising stars in the Florida rap scene. They’ve been drumming up buzz for themselves over the last couple of years. Tyler was on the XXL Freshman list in 2023. At 17 years old, he was among the youngest participants in the XXL Freshman proceedings to date. Dlow was on the XXL list this year and delivered one of the better verses from the two cyphers. Leading up to Tyler’s debut album, Mr. Skii, the two of them linked up for the song “2 Slippery.”

Lul Tyler and Bossman Dlow flex over a booming beat produced by X9Beatz and Prodrisk. Dlow dubs himself “Mr. Too Slippery,” while Luh Tyler calls himself “Mr. Too Ski.” Tyler and Dlow also talk about the cars they have, with multiple references to Mercedes and Bentleys peppered throughout the lyrics. They also talk about their jewlery, with Tyler saying he feels like “Bugs with all those carats.” Overall, it’s an effective promo single. Both of them should be happy with the early results as well. As of writing, it’s #26 on YouTube’s Trending For Music tab. The song has also amassed nearly 300,000 views on the platform since its release on July 26. Luh Tyler’s Mr. Skii releases on August 23.

Tia Kemp wants her and Rick Ross to film a reality series together and made the proposition in a recent video on social media. She described it as a “farm ranch show.” Her suggestion comes after she demanded the rapper pay her $200,000 to cover their son’s college tuition costs.

The offer began with some of Kemp’s standard insults toward Ross. “You’s a lying-ass fatback b*tch and I’m tired of you seeking muthaf*ckin attention,” she said. “You want this attention, you come over here. I got a deal for you; the people been calling me too. They want us to do like a show, me and you Will. I ain’t going to act illy Willy silly no mo, just give me the millys.”

From there, he outlined the proposition. “Now you need to come over here and we need to do this farm ranch show,” she explained. “They want to see us as a family and ride horses and cattle and all that. Former partner of Joe Budden, Cyn Santana, has some big news! According to The Shade Room, the musical artist and reality TV star is expecting her second child. The news outlet found this out through an announcement on her Instagram page showing off her baby bump. “Life been showing out lately ”, she said in the first of two posts. In both, the “Come” talent is wearing an all-white ensemble with a middle cut out revealing her belly in all its glory. Cyn Santana’s second pregnant post has two photos from what appears to be a black and white tinged photoshoot. “Big mama, big blessed ”, the caption reads.

This is certainly one heck of a bombshell as there has been hardly any indication that the Love & Hip-Hop contestant was in the midst of her pregnancy. Obviously, this leads to the obvious questions of when did this happen and with who? Well, all of that is currently unknown as well, as Cyn never announced how far in she is and there are no posts of who the baby daddy is. Joe Budden’s name is in the mix by default, but The Shade Room cites some past comments that would probably disprove that theory.

Back in October 2019, Cyn Santana described her split with the former rapper as not mutual. R. Kelly Appeals to U.S. Supreme Court to Overturn Convictions

Two years ago, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for human trafficking and violating the Mann Act. The Chicago R&B singers not giving up without a fight. Now, Kelly is seeking to overturn his conviction by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Legal Grounds for Appeal

R. Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, has filed a petition arguing that his convictions for possession of child pornography and inducing minors to engage in sexual acts should be dismissed. Bonjean contends that the alleged acts took place in the mid to late-1990s and are therefore barred by the statute of limitations.

Statute of Limitations Debate

The crux of Kelly’s argument revolves around the statute of limitations. When Kelly was accused in 2020, he argued that the statute of limitations had expired. However, prosecutors cited the 2003 PROTECT Act, which made the statute of limitations for child sex crimes indefinite. Bonjean argues that this act should not apply retroactively to conduct that occurred before the law was enacted.

2003 PROTECT Act

The PROTECT Act was designed to extend the statute of limitations indefinitely for child sex crimes committed after 2003. According to Bonjean, Congress did not include a provision that would apply the law to crimes committed before its enactment, which forms the basis of Kelly’s appeal.

Previous Convictions and Sentences

In 2020, R. Kelly was convicted on six of 13 counts, including three for child pornography and three for inducement. He received a 20-year sentence and was ordered to pay substantial damages to his alleged victims.

Supreme Court Decision Pending

The Supreme Court is expected to decide in the coming months whether to hear Kelly’s appeal. If the court agrees to take the case, it could lead to a significant legal battle over the application of the statute of limitations in sex crime cases.
