Earlier this month, for example, her son Jayson Scott was arrested in New York City for his alleged involvement in a murder. Reportedly, he could be looking at a life sentence for his alleged crimes. Before that, the femcee was making headlines for rumors that she cheated on her husband Papoose with a battle rapper. The man believed to have been her alleged side piece, Eazy The Block Captain, only fueled these rumors with a flirty birthday post at the end of last month.

Recently, Remy took to Instagram Live to air some of her frustrations, revealing that there are three people in particular that she’s had enough of. “Three people that when I catch them, I don’t give a f*ck who they call. Smacking they f*ckin’ cheek off and that’s just that on that,” she said. “And they know it too.”

Of course, it’s not like the Compton lyricist had to make the list, or that Lil Wayne had previously included him, but it’s a curious choice nonetheless for fans. After all, why wouldn’t the New Orleans legend pick one of his proteges? We’re sure that Nicki Minaj is number six. J Cole Track “Mama’s Eyes” Leaks Onto The Internet

J Cole has had a very, very peculiar 2024 so far: a beef exit, some divisive features, a new mixtape, and a whole lot of teasing up until the release of his next album, The Fall Off. Fans can’t wait for what’s next, with some just simply hoping for great material and others looking for retribution after the Kendrick Lamar and Drake situation. Moreover, an unreleased track of his titled “Mama’s Eyes” hit SoundCloud recently, and some Internet sleuthing doesn’t reveal much of a breadcrumb trail in its wake. We don’t know if this is an old leak, a new one, or some bizarre A.I. trickery, but nevertheless, it’s a very tender and introspective cut.

“Mama’s Eyes” seems to be a conversation between J. Cole and an old friend of his as the rapper talks about making it out of his old life, dealing with suppressed emotions, and feelings of loneliness in the face of perseverance and self-conscious focus on his craft. As is usual with the Dreamville boss, there are some very sharp and heartfelt bars all throughout. It’s just as humble and aware as many of his fan interactions are, and it’s a uniquely grounded quality that he’s always championed with his music. Hopefully some more heat comes soon.

Meanwhile, a recent audio inclusion at Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” might suggest that he and J. Cole are all cool now following the beef situation. Fans thought that they heard one of Cole’s ad-libs in the background of K.Dot’s “Alright” performance at his Los Angeles Juneteenth concert. Whether this is just a small mistake due to picking the wrong backing track or a deliberate decision might be an unanswered question for the rest of time. But at least it was cool to take note of.

If you’re looking for more after hearing this leak, you will get new J Cole material soon… But it might not sound like “Mama’s Eyes.” For example, he was recently spotted filming a music video with Tee Grizzley in New York City, so they could have some heat on the way. Nevertheless, it’s more likely than not that The Fall Off will be a more lyrically dense and emotively measured LP. The BET Awards are today (June 30) and the stars are set to hit the stage. Donald Glover, known musically as Childish Gambino, is poised to perform at the BET Awards this Sunday. The actor, writer producer and occasional musician/rapper will be sharing the stage with newly announced artists Chlöe, Coco Jones, Keke Palmer, Marsha Ambrosius, and Summer Walker.

Get this, Childish Gambino’s return to the stage comes amid rumors of a new album titled “Lithonia”, which Glover clarified on Instagram Live is actually a single. He attributed the leak to Audiomack and revealed that his new project is a soundtrack album titled “Bando Stone & the New World”, though details about the accompanying film remain scarce. Glover explained, “I’m trying to have fun. Because I feel like there’s just people not having enough fun… Even this year, the most fun we had was from a fight…which I enjoyed every minute of. But still kind of negative in a certain light, I guess.”

What’s cool is the Hollywood tie-in to the BET Awards which will also feature presenters such as Andra Day, Colman Domingo, DC Young Fly, Devale Ellis, Jay Ellis, Ms. Pat, Niecy Nash-Betts and her wife Jessica Betts, and Saucy Santana.

ICYMI, previously announced participants include host Taraji P. The motivational track follows Smith’s return to the spotlight with the film “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”.

What’s probably just as exciting is the carpet. BET detailed their red carpet live show, produced by Matasa Williams, with host Terrence J and performances by Too $hort, Lil’ Mo, Blxst & Bino Rideaux, Connie Diiamond, 4batz, Hunxho, Kalan.FrFr, Mariah The Scientist, October London, Remy Ma, Tee Grizzley, 310babii, and DJ Quik. Pretty Vee will serve as a correspondent, Tank will host a style stage, Mouse Jones will host a live stream, and Jae Murphy will be the resident DJ.

If you want to check it all out, BET Awards will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/PT from Downtown L.A.’s Peacock Theater, with Drake leading the nominations with seven nods. Oh, and that part. Period.
