Drake Makes Lil Wayne’s Top 5 Rappers List Instead Of Kendrick Lamar

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s viral lyrical battle has left fans everywhere curious about who their favorite artists have sided with. The general consensus is that Kendrick came out on top with explosive diss tracks like “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us,” but evidently, that wasn’t enough for everyone to declare him a better artist overall. Recently, for example, Lil Wayne shared a list of his top five rappers during an interview. Kendrick didn’t even make the cut, but his longtime friend Drake did.

“My Top 5 rappers of all time are JAY-Z, Missy ElliottEminem, ummm… The Notorious B.I.G. — oh, and this is no specific order right here — and Drizzy,” he said. This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, as Drake and Weezy go way back. With that being said, it’s quite a statement to make right now considering the feud.

Lil Wayne Reveals His Top 5 Rappers Of All Time

Listeners have been especially curious about Lil Wayne’s stance in all of this, as Kendrick name-dropped him on “Not Like Us.” In the song, he accuses Drake of sleeping with Lil Wayne’s girlfriend while he was behind bars and mentions his Weezy arm tattoo. Lil Wayne seemingly confirmed that this did happen in an interview that resurfaced amid the beef, though he didn’t appear to be too hurt by the debacle. A clip of the track playing at a Lil Wayne concert later circulated online, which led to speculation that he was siding with Kendrick.

It was only a DJ getting the crowd excited for the main act, however, which likely means that the rapper himself had nothing to do with it. What do you think of Lil Wayne putting Drake in his top five rappers and leaving out Kendrick Lamar? Are you surprised or not? Where do you think he stands in their feud? Keke Palmer Has A Question About Kendrick Lamar’s “69 God” Line Against Drake

Some believe that Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef may not be over yet, and in the likely event that it is, folks still have an avalanche of wild, cutting, and comical bars to take stock of. Moreover, beyond some of the hefty allegations they launched at each other, these diss tracks contained a lot of clever wordplay, funny flips, disrespectful jabs, and downright vicious assessments. On the lighter and more ridiculous tip, folks have been singing along to K.Dot’s “69 God” attack at Drizzy for almost two months, but Keke Palmer has a very important question. Since when did that sexually suggestive number become a bad thing in our Internet discourse?

“Now this is no shade, no tea, but I have a question, okay?” Keke Palmer, SZA’s future buddy comedy partner, began her inquiry. “Because I know the rap kids, they do a lot of little tricks and clever little lines. Especially somebody like Kendrick. But I really am curious of… What’s so bad about being a 69 God? I guess what I’m saying is, far as I knew, 69 was something that just means you’re reciprocal, right? So if you’re a 69 God, you know, what’s so bad about that? I must be missing something. We’ll see, boo.”

Keke Palmer Doesn’t Know What’s So Bad About 69 Gods

Of course, fans quickly chimed in with their theories, agreements with Keke Palmer, and other interpretations that paint this as a diss. People are still arguing over who won; did you think a debate over bars would be any less divisive? Anyway, some fans believe that the “69” in question is actually a reference to 6ix9ine, who has his own history with grooming, child abuse, and predatory behavior (which in Drake’s case is purely alleged and unconfirmed). Maybe that’s a reach, but it’s rap beef, so what else is new?

Meanwhile, Keke Palmer is busy elsewhere, dealing with the fallout of her breakup and hopefully moving on peacefully from that reportedly toxic bond. As such, it’s no surprise that she wasn’t able to go down the same Reddit rabbit holes and OVO/TDE Twitter Stan reply threads that we did. Do you agree that being a 69 God is not such a bad thing after all? Or does it make “Not Like Us” all the catchier?

Pete Rock Goes Bar For Bar With Common On “All Kind Of Ideas”

It is safe to say that Common and Pete Rock are pouring their souls into this upcoming album, The Auditorium, Vol. 1. The July 12 release will be the first time this tandem has made a full-length effort together and so far, it has yet to disappoint. These East Coast legends have given fans two offerings from the tape, and they include “Wise Up” and “Dreamin’”. Both cuts feature incredible jazzy, boom-bap production, as well as intricate lyricism from the Be MC. However, Common and Pete Rock are apparently looking to one up themselves, as “All Kind Of Ideas” proves to be equally impressive.

Things are a little different on this single, as Pete is now laying down some bars. “Keep your top five, I’m god’s favorite producer / Sixteen bars of pressure, no metronome / Thinking outside the box, that’s a better zone“. It is clear that he wanted to deliver his best stuff as he is in fact trying to complement the lyrical mastermind that is Common. “On the mic, I’m Micah Parsons any subject I tackle / And grapple with wack dudes / And school n****s like black schools ‘cause they lack rules“, the Chicago MC spits. Pete and Common have both been thrilled to share this passion project with fans since they first teased it, and we are just as anxious them to get this out on July 12.

Blxst Announces Debut Album ‘I’ll Always Come Find You’

Blxst Announces Debut Album 'I'll Always Come Find You'

Grammy-nominated artist Blxst announced his debut album, I’ll Always Come Find You, set for release on July 19 via Red Bull Records/EVGLE.

The announcement coincides with the release of the album’s next single, “Dance With The Devil,” featuring Grammy-winning Anderson .Paak. The track blends quintessential SoCal vibes with live horns and climactic strings, creating an irresistible dancefloor groove.

Blxst expressed his admiration for .Paak, saying, “I’ve been a fan of Anderson .Paak since his ‘Malibu’ album. His approach as an artist and tone of voice inspired me while coming into my own artistry. Full circle moment, he organically reached out to me summer 2023 to collaborate with him and the group Free Nationals. I took it as an opportunity to shoot for the stars and asked for him to be a part of my debut album as well. This song is a perfect blend of two artists from California and is sonically undeniable from first listen. Conceptually, the song paints a picture of the tug-of-war with temptation in love and relationships.”

The album’s theme has been subtly hinted at since Blxst’s debut Coachella performance, where he sported a jacket with “Birdie” on the back, and a classic Buick Grand National appeared on stage. This theme continued in the visualizer for his single “Risk Taker” with Offset, and last night’s album trailer featured Blxst driving the Grand National.

Blxst shared his excitement about the album, stating, “This is the most confident I’ve ever felt in my music. What I had to overcome while making this album changed my entire creative process, and the fans deserve to see the growth from that. I would be doing a disservice to not reach the heights I dreamed of reaching when I first started as an artist. No better time than now.”

In addition to “Risk Taker,” Blxst released the reggaeton hit “Rewind” with Colombian superstar Feid, signaling a multi-dimensional album. Following his performance at Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out, Blxst is set for another live appearance this weekend ahead of the BET Awards, where he’s nominated for “Best Group” alongside Bino Rideaux for their mixtape, Sixtape 3.

Doechii Is Done Jumping Through Hoops For A Bad Boyfriend In Her Nostalgic ‘Rocket’ Video

Doechii has rapidly been developing a reputation for swapping genres like outfits in a music video. After making her mark with hip-house hits like “Persuasive” and straightforward Southern rap street bangers like “Universal Swamp Anthem,” she takes on Afroswing with her new single “Rocket.”

Part of Sprite’s Limelight series, which invites artists to give unique takes on a single “core hook” created by Take A Daytrip, the song is meant to highlight a moment from each artist’s life in which they’ve “prevailed over a moment of heat.” In Doechii’s case, she details a situationship that is going nowhere fast — hence the “Rocket” of the title, which she says she is debarking posthaste — and the video is set in the primary incubator for confusing, hormonal relationships: High school.

Decked out in a variety of Y2K mall ensembles and gymnastics gear, Doechii’s “Rocket” video depicts the camaraderie between girls and women that gets them through such situations. In the song’s press release, she says, “Music is so many things to me, to artists, to fans. It soothes you; it heals you; it can uplift you and drive you on when you need it most. That’s what compels me to be part of this project with Sprite Limelight – creating new music with different producers, different artists, for people to connect to and feel a part of. It’s special.”

Kodak Black Admits He Regrets “Super Gremlin” Bar About Fake Percs: Watch

It’s no secret that Kodak Black has struggled with substance abuse issues in the past, and recently, the rapper revealed that he has some regrets about glorifying that behavior in his music. In a new clip making its rounds online, he chats with fans about his Percocet habit onstage. He also refers to a bar from his 2022 track, “Super Gremlin.” In the song, he raps about knowing that a “Perc was fake,” but ultimately taking it anyway.

Kodak explained that if he had actually been taking fake Percocets at the rate he was taking real ones, he would have been “dead” by now. He told the crowd that he didn’t want them to hear the lyrics and think that it’s okay to take fake drugs, as it can be incredibly dangerous.

Kodak Black Reflects On Past Substance Abuse

His admission has fans split in No Jumper‘s comments section. While most agree that it’s a good move to acknowledge that substance abuse is dangerous, some think he shouldn’t pick and choose which substances are okay to promote. With that being said, he’s been pretty open about his Percocet addiction in the past and has stated that he’s in a much better place now that he’s on the road to recovery.

During an Instagram Live in April, for example, he discussed how much his life had improved since cutting back drastically. “I’m proud of myself,” he told viewers at the time. “I’ve never been this happy in my life.” What do you think of Kodak Black admitting that he regrets his infamous bar about fake Percs from “Super Gremlin”? Are you surprised or not? Are you glad to see him taking a step in the right direction? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Latest Shots At Nicki Minaj Spark Mixed Reactions

Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN is finally out, and fans have a whole lot to discuss and react to when it comes to this collection of tracks. For example, some fans are going wild over her anime references on the project, and others took note of some of the more emotional and personal lyricism on the LP. After all, the Houston femcee went through a lot over the past few years, situations that saturated media exposure and discussion certainly didn’t help either way. But one conversation around her, and concerning this new album as a whole, is probably a more intentional choice.

Moreover, fans couldn’t help but notice that there seem to be a couple of shots on MEGAN against Nicki Minaj, and we all know there’s history there. Their “HISS” and “Big Foot” disses kicked off a year of battles in the game, and Megan Thee Stallion might’ve doubled down on her stances with new bars here. However, this is mostly speculative and there’s not a lot of direct links to talk about… at least, that’s what usually is the case with these subliminals. But she chose to rap “I’m a motherf***ing brat, not a Barbie” on “Figueroa,” and a couple of lines on “Rattle” suggest that Roman was a main target.

Megan Thee Stallion Might’ve Sent More Nicki Minaj Shots On MEGAN

Still, a lot of these early assumptions owe their current relevance and propagation to the very obvious lens that many fans initially viewed all of MEGAN through. Given how bombastic Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj’s beef was earlier this year, a lot of listeners went into this new album with that history at the forefront of their minds. It’s entirely possible that there are other bars on the record that we’re not even picking up on yet. In addition, it’s equally likely that these reads of “Figueroa” and “Rattle” provide inaccurate conclusions. Regardless, you can find more reactions to the project down below.

Fans React To The Album & Possible Disses

Meanwhile, we know that MEGAN had some release headaches to handle, such as difficult anime sample clearances. But Megan Thee Stallion should feel very proud of her latest work, and stay ready for a retort. Nicki Minaj could pop out whenever to claim her continued dominion of the rap throne. So we’ll see how this ages…
