Uncle Luke Considers Entering Congressional Race Against Incumbent Florida Democrat

Uncle Luke Reveals He Tested Positive for COVID 19 After Being Peer Pressured to Attend a Party

Miami bass/Hip Hip pioneer Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke is considering entering politics by running in a local race against an incumbent in his local Florida district, according to reports.

In an interview last weekend with Miami’s The Bulwark, the 2 Live Crew founder explained his decision in considering running for incumbent Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick’s 20th Congressional district seat. Campbell said, “I’m living my ideal. I have the opportunity to bring something back to the community…And I get to fight these motherfuckers.”

By “motherfuckers”, Campbell was referring to “Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump, and all these crazy-ass Republicans who want to divide us.”

In anticipation of his bid, Campbell established a political committee in January called “Don’t Stop Get It Get It”.

“Campbell has had informal conversations with political consultants in South Florida to help run his primary campaign,” reports The Bulwark. “He has also been followed around by a Los Angeles-based documentary film crew, whose name he’s keeping secret for now.”

Campbell said he’ll decide whether to run before April 26, which is the race entry deadline in the state of Florida. The primary elections are set August 20.

Eminem Trolled Fans With A ‘New Album’ Announcement For April Fools’ Day — But, Of Course, There’s A Catch

Eminem fans have impatiently awaited news of a new album from the Detroit rap icon for nearly four years. He last released new music in 2020 with his eleventh studio album Music To Be Murdered By and its extended edition, Side B. While that project totaled 33 songs, it still wasn’t enough to satisfy fans’ cravings for another complete collection. While Em has offered appetizers here and there — “Doomsday 2” and “Lace It” spring to mind — he hasn’t acknowledged the hunger for a full-length project until now.

Of course, your mileage with this “new album” may vary depending on your tolerance for revisiting catalog… uhhh… classics. And for April Fools’ jokes.

Oh yeah, sorry, Eminem fans but the “new album” the Rap God is pushing is actually the oldest one in his discography: his independently released 1996 debut studio album, Infinite, which was his introduction to the Detroit rap scene at large. However, the album didn’t receive much pickup outside the Motor City due in part to comparisons of the young Eminem to influences like AZ, Big L, and Nas. While it received mixed reviews at the time — and in retrospect — it offers a rare glimpse at an earnest, developing Eminem, without some of the quirks that would later become his signatures.

Fans have hoped that the album would make it to streaming, but it looks like Eminem’s joke remains a joke — at least, for now. Some are taking it well; others… not so much. Check out Em’s tongue-in-cheek trailer for Infinite‘s “release” below.

NBA YoungBoy Family Easter Pictures Have Fans Wondering If They Are His Actual Relatives

NBA YoungBoy has been a hardworking man this year. That should come as no surprise to anyone who listens to hip-hop as he has one of the most robust catalogs. Now, the quality of most of his records is up for debate, but there is no denying his work ethic. So far, YB has put out a plethora of singles, especially on YouTube. Shockingly, none of them were for his most recent project, Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain. On top of that, this offering was actually a surprise to his fans. Many were assuming that his first release of 2024 would be I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders instead. But, before he puts out another project, NBA YoungBoy wanted to spend some time with his family for Easter as evidenced by the pictures on his IG.

The Louisiana rapper doubled up on the photos, sharing separate ones with his boo and their two children. YB, his nuclear clan, as well as the extended relatives were dressed up in black and white attire. All of the photos were extremely wholesome, and it is nice to see YB looking happy to be with those he loves the most. However, people still had a lot to say about who he was celebrating the holiday with.

Fans could not fathom the fact that the rapper has mostly white family members. The comments were flooded with assumptions and jokes that NBA YoungBoy bought a family for Easter pictures. One person wrote, “I’m dying cus what if he rented these ppl for the pictures 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭” Another adds, When I get rich ima buy me a family too 💯” However, some were just happy to see YB enjoy the company of his loved ones. “N****s see a family at peace and get spooked,” one wrote. “These people probably treat him better than his own… he probably gave up on his side of the family…” Whatever his situation is, we are also loving the pictures and the connectedness.

What are your thoughts on NBA YoungBoy and his family posting pictures from Easter? Do you think YB actually “rented” a family to take these with? Why are people making these jokes and assumptions? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Tyler, The Creator Called Jerrod Carmichael A “Stupid B*tch” For Admitting His Feelings For Him

Jerrod Carmichael revealed that Tyler, The Creator called him a “stupid b*tch” after the comedian admitted he had feeling for him. During the premiere of The Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show, he discussed having a crush on his “best friend” before the two sat down for a candid conversation about the situation.

“I fell in love with my best friend. 1 out of 10, don’t recommend,” Carmichael admitted during a stand-up portion of the show. “I knew I had to tell him. Things started getting kind of weird between us. I had these feelings… So I texted him. I remember saying, ‘I know you didn’t ask for this, but somewhere down the line I developed feelings for you and I don’t know what to do with that.’ Then I immediately turned my phone off and went into therapy.” From there, he recalled: “He sent me a voice note. I was so nervous. It was like six seconds… He said, ‘Hahahaha, you stupid bitch.’ And I don’t really know what that means.”

Afterward, Carmichael invited Tyler to be his date for the Emmys, but he shot him down. Eventually, Carmichael brought Tyler in for a candid interview to hash things out. “It’s because I told you I had feelings for you, and we didn’t talk about it, ever,” Carmichael said. “That was, like, weird. I don’t know if it was just too awkward to talk about or just too… I don’t know. I feel like you left me hanging out there a little bit.” Tyler responded: “I did,” while laughing. “Yeah. I did. And I think I just, like, brushed it off. Getting news like that and then avoiding it is a way to avoid change.” He added that he views Carmichael as a “brother.”

Today in Hip Hop History: DJ Kool Dropped His Classic Single “Let Me Clear My Throat” 28 Years Ago

On this date in 1996, Washington, D.C.-based DJ Kool dropped his monumental single “Let Me Clear My Throat,” the last single from his debut LP of the same name on the American Recordings/Warner Bros. Blackout! Imprint.

The song’s most prevalent version is recorded live at Philly’s Bahama Bay Club, which is why this version incorporates audience cheers, shouts, and participation in the recording. Produced by Kool, the late DJ Mark The 45 King and Funkmaster Flex, the song contains samples from Kool and the Gang’s “Hollywood Swinging”, Marva Whitleys “Unwind Yourself” and Mark The 45 King’s infectious “The 900 Number”. The song’s title and standard line, “let me clear my throat,” was taken from the Beastie Boys’ “The New Style” from 1986’s Licensed to Ill.

Several American sports teams have used the song for their intros, including the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. After the start of the 2023 MLB season, the Milwaukee Brewers began playing the song in conjunction with their horn at American Family Field, which is sounded after every Brewers home run.

Salute to DJ Kool for creating such a memorable and everlasting piece of Hip Hop history!

Metro Boomin Couldn’t Help But Notice LeBron James Had A Career Night After Rapping ‘Like That’ Pre-Game

Sunday (March 31) was a good day for Metro Boomin. His and Future’s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — Metro’s fourth-career No. 1 album and Future’s ninth, according to Billboard. The album earned 2024’s largest week by any album, with 251,000 equivalent US album units, as per Luminate.

Hours later, ESPN’s Omar Raja recorded LeBron James rapping Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That” during the Los Angeles Lakers’ warmups ahead of their game at the Brooklyn Nets. James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, proceeded to do what he does in the Lakers’ 116-104 win. The 39-year-old logged 40 points on 13-of-17 from the field with nine three-pointers. Per ESPN, James tied his career high for threes in a game and joined Michael Jordan “as the only players in NBA history with multiple games of 40 points or more after turning 39.”

Metro Boomin was delighted, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “bro was warming up to Like That then went 9/10 from 3 and 13/17 for 40 points [exploding head emoji, three steam-from-nose emojis, flexing emoji] #WEDONTTRUSTYOU.”

By the time James was spotted spitting “Like That,” he and the Lakers had already run onto the court to “Ya Ya” from Beyoncé’s newly released Cowboy Carter, as seen in a video posted by Jasmine (@hausofJazzy) on X.

Cowboy Carter debuting at anything lower than No. 1 next week would be a bigger upset than James’ Lakers winning the West, and then it can almost already be penciled in that Metro and Future’s We Don’t Trust You sequel album will recapture No. 1 after its April 12 release date.
