Former Basketball Wives Star Brittish Williams Faces Legal Troubles After Failing to Surrender

Former Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams is facing legal troubles after failing to surrender as scheduled for her four-year prison sentence on fraud charges. The reality TV personality had initially been granted a delay in her surrender date to spend Christmas with her daughter before serving her sentence.

According to court records obtained by Radar Online, Williams was due to turn herself in on January 3, but she did not check into prison as ordered. Instead, hours before her scheduled surrender, she petitioned the court to reduce her four-year sentence to 2.6 years.

Williams, who accused the judge of imposing a harsh sentence due to her celebrity status, filed an appeal challenging the original four-year sentence. The reality star argued that a reduced sentence would eliminate the need for her to be transported back and forth between the prison in West Virginia and the court in Missouri.

However, prosecutors opposed the motion to reduce Williams’ sentence, asserting that the initially imposed four years behind bars was appropriate. They pointed out her failure to report to the Bureau of Prisons as directed and emphasized the generous disposition she had already received.

Days later, court records revealed that Williams was arrested on January 12, though details surrounding the arrest remain unclear at this time. The Federal Bureau of Prisons currently does not list Williams as an inmate at Alderson, the designated prison facility.

As the process unfolds, the reality star may face further consequences, raising questions about the impact on her impending prison term and the reasons behind her arrest on January 12.

David Marvin Blake, a.k.a. DJ Quik, was born in Pomona, California, and shortly after relocated to Compton, California. His love for music began at a very young age, and by age 12, he could already play several instruments. Quik jumpstarted his path to fame by selling mixtapes he made with the turntable he received while still in school. Through self-promotion, his fame began to rise, and he started to DJ and host events in Southern California.

Whether due to knowledge of his future success or lack of interest, Quik dropped out of high school in the 11th grade. DJ Quik had created so much of a buzz on the streets by selling tapes and making appearances at parties and events he gained the attention of local record labels Ruthless Records and Profile Records. Despite a one million dollar offer from Eazy E, Quik signed with Profile.

On February 12, 1991, DJ Quik released his debut album, Quik Is the Name, which debuted at #29 on the Billboard 200 chart, where it would peak, and sold 50,000 copies in its first week. The album hosted hit singles “Born and Raised in Compton” and “Tonite.” after about four years, the album was certified platinum by the RIAA and had to date, sold 1,068,203 copies. After his debut success, Quik produced eight more solo studio albums and a collaborative album with rapper Kurupt called Blaqkout in 2009.

Outside of music, DJ Quik has made appearances as an actor on popular TV shows: Method and Red, Entourage, and Everybody Hates Chris. His career is one of the more influential ones on the West Coast. Quik was an instrumental part of the G-Funk sound and helped it to gain popularity early in the rap world. Countless rappers, producers, and DJs alike have noted their influence by DJ Quik, and if you ride around SoCal today, there’s no doubt you can hear one of his hits playing on someone’s stereo. Today In Hip Hop History: The Game Dropped His Debut LP ‘The Documentary’ 19 Years Ago

the source sneakers rap albums the game the documentary

On this date in 2005, Compton emcee The Game released his debut album, The Documentary, on Aftermath/G-Unit/Interscope records.

The Game was the first G-Unit representative from outside of NYC to be a part of the then-dominating roster consisting of Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and its general, 50 Cent. The album was initially called “Nigga Witta Attitude Vol.1,” but Eazy-E’s wife, Tomica Woods-Wright, legally blocked that N.W.A. title reference from being used.

The album received commercial and critical success, reaching gold status in its first week and 2X platinum within the first two months. The singles that received the most acclaim were 50 Cent-assisted, which many felt was the primary reason for the project’s success. “Hate It Or Love It,” “Westside Story,” and This Is How We Do” allowed The Game to see the same degree of fame as his Queens boss but left many critics to wonder if this feat was capable with no guest appearances. The album’s production was a Hip-Hop producers’ Hall of Fame, with the likes of Kanye West. Scott Storch, Just Blaze, Timbaland, and Dr. Dre are behind the boards. These fundamental elements make The Documentary The Game’s most notable and successful album to date.

Salute to Dre, 50, Em, The Game, the entire G-Unit, and everyone involved in one of the most pivotal Hip-Hop projects of the new millennium.

Jerod Mayo, the new coach of the New England Patriots, is not dismissing racism exists. In his introductory press conference, Mayo stated that his ascension as the first Black coach in team history is important.

“I do see color,” Mayo said. “If you don’t see color, you can’t see racism.”

Just one day after Bill Belichick moved on from the head coaching position of the New England Patriots, the franchise has named their new coach, Jerod Mayo.

The 37-year-old will be the youngest coach in the NFL and the 15th head coach in the franchise’s history.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Mayo joined Belichick’s coaching staff in 2019 as the linebackers coach. He was selected as part of a succession plan built into his contract extension last summer. Mayo becomes the first Black coach in New England history.

As anticipation builds for Super Bowl LVIII, singer Usher is gearing up to headline the Apple Music Halftime Show, promising a performance that transcends entertainment to become a healing experience. The R&B icon shared his aspirations for the show and reflected on his remarkable musical journey.

In a recent chat with Vogue, Usher, who was announced as the headliner last September, expressed his desire for viewers to walk away from the halftime performance with a sense of healing and hope. “I’m hoping they walk away with something that’s healing them, something that makes them feel hopeful,” he stated. The Grammy winner aims to inspire not just a reflection on the past but also a sense of optimism for the future.

The choice of Usher as the headliner for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is particularly fitting as the game will be held in Las Vegas, where Usher had an extended residency at the MGM from July 2022 to December 2023.

As he prepares for this monumental performance, Usher acknowledges the challenges and the significance of the moment. Reflecting on his journey, he shared a moment before taking the stage, where he looks out and remembers the times when the venue was empty and the road seemed tough. “I see them having a great time, and I’m like, ‘Here it is — honor that moment. Now go have a good time,’” he revealed.

Building on the success of Rihanna’s groundbreaking performance while pregnant in 2023, Usher is set to join the ranks of elite performers who have graced the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage. He emphasizes that his 13 minutes onstage must be perfect, marking three decades in the industry.

The “Yeah” singer teased elements of his performance, promising fans the signature killer choreography they’ve come to expect along with skating and musical surprises. Usher envisions the night as a celebration of R&B, not just in terms of music but also in performance, connection, and spirit.

Acknowledging his inspirations, Usher draws on the legacy of legendary Vegas showmen like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. However, he also pays homage to trailblazers who paved the way for Black performers like him, such as Michael Jackson and Prince. Reflecting on their sacrifices, he expresses his joy and the responsibility he feels to bring energy, love, and connection to the world.
