Doja Cat Keeps Dominating The Billboard Hot 100 With “Paint The Town Red”

Doja Cat’s Scarlet is still in heavy rotation, it seems, as the new album’s biggest hit single continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Moreover, “Paint The Town Red” bounced back from No. 2 to return to the No. 1 spot on the ranking, beating out artists like Taylor Swift, SZA, and more. In addition, it marks her first multi-week chart-topping song, as her previous No. 1 hit “Say So” with Nicki Minaj held the placement for a single week. Just three weeks earlier, the Los Angeles native’s single became the first hip-hop record to reach the top spot in over a year. The last track to do so was the Queen’s “Super Freaky Girl,” and it’s funny to see all these links pop up with their commercial performances.

Furthermore, this is proving to be a great year for Doja Cat, even despite her relationship with her fans and what her fans think of her rumored relationship. WIth Scarlet, she pretty effectively switched lanes into more straightforward, but nonetheless engaging rap fare. Given that “Paint The Town Red” is a solid fusion of the “Balut” MC’s various styles, it’s no wonder that this was the track to make it big. That being said, don’t let that assessment keep you sleeping on the rest of the tracklist, because there’s a lot of quality to find.

Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red”: Watch The Music Video

Other big names on the Billboard Hot 100 for this charting week include Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” which rose from No. 6 to No. 4. SZA also continues to show that she’s a commercial and critical darling, as “Snooze” occupied the second spot. Funnily enough, this is her third track to get to either No. 1 or 2 (all of which were this year), following “Kill Bill” and “Slime You Out” with Drake. There’s been some steep chart competition in 2023, although admittedly not as much as other years.

Meanwhile, Scarlet itself is also proving itself to be quite successful on the Billboard charts, exceeding initial expectations. With just three months left to go in the year, there’s still time for Doja to etch herself more firmly in the 2023 chart history books. Jimmy Butler Debuts New Hairstyle, Reveals Plans For Country Music Album

Jimmy Butler is a phenomenal basketball player, and everyone should probably already know that by now. Overall, he is someone who gets his team going in the playoffs, and it has led to two NBA Finals appearances. Unfortunately, Butler has yet to win an NBA title with his squad. Despite attempts to get Damian Lillard in the offseason, it was the Bucks who ended up getting him. Now, Butler has a tough task ahead, but he is ready to go after it.

Today was NBA Media Day, and teams around the league were having players conduct photoshoots. Last season, Butler made waves for his hairstyle during media day; a hairstyle that he immediately abandoned when the season started. Subsequently, it seems like Butler has tried to recreate some of that magic as he came into media day with straightened hair. Fans immediately recognized Butler was simply going for what he tried back in 2022. However, this time around, he may have been even more successful.

Jimmy Butler Tries Something New

Perhaps the hair can be explained by his desire to release a country music album. While talking to Rolling Stone, Butler revealed his love of the genre and how he has been working on an album. He even has a plethora of songs written and completed. “I don’t want to tell anyone who I’ve been writing with because then it’ll ruin the surprise,” Butler explained. “Now, I’m in the lab writing and producing country music. We got some real artists and songwriters. We probably got around 45 tracks right now, and I hope to go write some more. There’s definitely going to be an album.”

Whether or not this album actually comes out, remains to be seen. However, it is crystal clear that things are getting very interesting on the NBA front these days. Offset Teases Another Track From “SET IT OFF” With Don Toliver: Listen

Atlanta rapper and Migos affiliate, Offset, has been relentlessly teasing and prodding his fans with tracks off his next album. His solo sophomore release, SET IT OFF, is due to be out on all streaming platforms on October 13. The sales numbers could be swayed due to how much music is expected to be out that day, but, nonetheless, a lot of people will be tuning in. It is for good reason too. Offset has already put out two nice tasters. The first of which was “JEALOUSY” with Cardi B, has already racked up over 27 million streams in just two months.

Following that, on September 15, “FAN” dropped and that got even more people excited. His terrific flows and resentful lyrics about cutting toxic people off made for a great listen. The music video for it was also enticing because of the references to Michael Jackson’s classic song “Thriller.” Offset’s rollout continued with he and Travis Scott bumping a little bit of their track at a listening event. The song is rumored by Offset to be called “SAY MY GRACE.” Finally, the most recent teaser was with Playboi Carti and that has fans buzzing too.

People’s anticipation for this record has to be through the roof now because Offset also let the cat out of the bag again. Don Toliver also appears to be a feature on SET IT OFF. At the same event as the Playboi teaser, he played a snippet of his and Toliver’s song. It sounds like it will be more of an R&B type of vibe with some nice guitar sampling in the instrumental. It should be safe to say this has the makings of a great album for Offset.

Cardi B Does The Mute Challenge During Final Renaissance Show

Over the weekend, the tour that has been capturing people’s imaginations all summer ended. Beyonce played the final show of her legendary and record-breaking Renaissance tour in Kansas City. It was fitting that once again there were some major celebs in attendance. That’s been the case for pretty much the entire tour with fellow musicians as well as actors, reality stars, athletes, and more popping up for various Beyonce shows all over the world.

For this final show, one of the biggest names in attendance was Cardi B. The “Bongos” rapper made sure not to miss what could be the final show Queen Bey plays for quite a while. For further proof that she’s just as big of a Beyonce fan as anyone else, she shared a video of herself participating in the viral “Mute Challenge.” For those that don’t know, all tour Bey has been asking her entire crowd to go silent after a particular lyric on her song “ENERGY.” While it took a few tries at first fans seem to have largely nailed down the challenge and it’s taken center stage at more than a few tour stops. In the video she posted Cardi shows herself nailing the mute challenge despite others around her who don’t quite have it down. Check out the clip below.

Cardi B Shows Her Love For Beyonce

Last month, Cardi B released her new single “Bongos.” It saw her teaming up with Megan Thee Stallion for a second time following their massive hit collaboration “WAP” back in 2020. The song made its debut at number 14 on the hot 100 before falling back to number 31 in its second week on the chart.

Cardi B also had to be honest with her fans about her long awaited 2nd album. She told fans the project wasn’t coming until 2024 after speculation and rumors had run wild. SZA & Future Enjoy Studio Session Together

Two of hip-hop and R&B’s most beloved and dominant artists right now are apparently cooking up something great for fans. Moreover, Future and SZA were recently pictured in the studio together, and it’s impossible to tell what they’re working on. Of course, this should be incredibly exciting because we haven’t really heard these two on many tracks together. In fact, we’ve never heard them in a strict one-on-one capacity, so hopefully this marks their first time doing so. However, we know from previous examples that the trap titan and the soulful superstar can show off a lot of chemistry on wax.

For example, they worked together on last year’s album GOD DID from DJ Khaled on the track “BEAUTIFUL.” Considering the We The Best Music mogul’s approach to songs, maybe you could consider that their first one-on-one collab. Technicalities aside, the more prominent and promising example of Future and SZA’s kinetic energy is the song “TELEKINESIS” on UTOPIA, for which they both assisted Travis Scott with wondrous features. No matter how you slice it, it’s clear that this team has a lot of potential to not just craft fan-favorite hits, but also surprise listeners with a different direction.

Future & SZA Hit The Studio Up Together

After all, “TELEKINESIS” is a bit more slow, dramatic, and sparse than your typical Future banger, so hearing what he could do in that space was a welcome skill to showcase. On the other hand, SZA fit like a glove on the lush and grand outro, but the sonic pallet is very different to what she played with on SOS, Ctrl, and other songs and projects. Another aspect to consider is their narrative contrast. How would someone like the St. Louis native handle an infamously “toxic” personality like the Atlanta lyricist’s?

Regardless, there are also plenty of opportunities for this to come out promptly. For one, Hendrix has a highly anticipated album with Metro Boomin coming out, and the TDE singer is still working hard on her career. As such, hopefully we get a dynamic collaboration sooner rather than later, but we’ll happily wait for as long as we need to. Cam’ron Goes Off On Jermell Charlo For “Trash” Canelo Alvarez Fight

Cam’ron and Ma$e have reunited as best friends, which means they have been hanging out a lot together as of late. Overall, many of their nights out together or at sporting events. Of course, this makes sense when you consider how the two have a very successful sports show together. It Is What It Is has been making major waves as of late, and we don’t foresee that coming to a close, anytime soon. Fans love the show, and Cam’s commentary has proven to be must-see television.

Over the weekend, Cam and Ma$e went to the Jermell Charlo and Canelo Alvarez fight. This match was certainly a risk for Charlo seeing as though he had to go up a few weight classes. Unfortunately, he was not good in the fight with Alvarez dominating throughout. Consequently, Canelo won the match, and now, Charlo has to reconvene and figure out what to do next. However, in Cam’ron’s eyes, Charlo’s performance was a joke and it ultimately turned he and Ma$e’s night out into a colossal waste of time.

Cam’ron Is Not Impressed

Cam’ron felt like Charlo had poor conditioning and poor form, and overall, he did not seem ready to fight. Moreover, he would like to see Charlo fight someone like Errol Spence Jr. That way, he can figure out whether or not he is washed, or can still contend for some titles. Ma$e felt the exact same way, although Cam’ron did seem to be especially offended by Charlo and his performance. It is almost as if the legendary New York artist felt like it was a personal slight.

Overall, Canelo is an amazing fighter, so it should come as absolutely no surprise that things went down this way. What’s Next For Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance World Tour?’

Beyoncé recently wrapped up the North American leg of her massive Renaissance World Tour, as she closed it last night (October 1) in Kansas City. While she previously finished the European run earlier this year, many fans are wondering if there will be any other global stops.

Some Beyhive fans spotted a cryptic post from Ticketmaster Chile’s social media account — as it is just a photo of a folder on a laptop titled “Eventos Ticketmaster 2024_Final.” Many suspect that she’s heading to South America next year. In the photo, it has 12 items listed, which could also correspond to the number of dates.

While the comments are mostly flooded with Beyoncé fans hoping it’s tied to her, others have also speculated that the folder is of 12 artists coming to South America instead. Either way, she is rumored to be one of them.

For those who also won’t or haven’t been able to make it to the Renaissance Tour, Beyoncé recently announced that she’s bringing it as a concert film to theaters on December 1. Right now, only North American showtimes have been announced, but Parkwood Entertainment has said that there will be global screenings announced at a later date.
