The 2024 Class of the Hollywood Walk of Fame has some heavy hitters throughout the entire entertainment world. Dr. Dre and Angie Martinez are two from the rap corner looking to solidify their legacy as all-time greats. On Monday, the selection committee announced those being honored, with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Board ratifying the selections that same day. Other honorees include Otis Redding, Toni Braxton, Chadwick Boseman (posthumous), Gwen Stefani, and Carl Weathers.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a celebrity honor, but it’s definitely for the fans. Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame ceremony producer, said in a Billboard interview, “This [award] is on the sidewalk. [Fans] can sit next to it. They can pose with it. It’s an interactive award.” For some, it’s as close as they can get to touching superstardom. Luckily, fans of Dr. Dre and Angie Martinez will be able to flash smiles and rock-on hand signs next to their stars soon.

Andre “Dr. Dre” Young is a mainstay in the rap game. Previous co-founder and president of Death Row Records, Dre is responsible for discovering the musical talents of Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige. Truthfully, he has too many hit singles to count. He began with the rap group NWA in the ’80s and ’90s. His most recent big-time performance was the SuperBowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show, which brought out all of the above artists in a tribute to L.A.-based hip-hop over the decades. Even without the Walk of Fame star, we’d never forget about Dre (just like the song says).

As for Angie Martinez, her radio presence and brief rap career got her the nickname “The Voice of New York.” For two decades, she was the main host of HOT 97’s Afternoon Drive with DJ Enuff in NY. In 2014, she joined cross-town rival Power 105.1. Born in Brooklyn, she was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2020. Musically, she signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation back in 2014. However, she doesn’t make much music these days. Instead, she opts for radio interviewing the stars of hip-hop today. Honestly, both Dr. Dre and Angie Martinez are rap icons well deserving of this prestigious honor.

Beyonce Drops Exclusive New Tour Merch With Amazon

Beyonce’s Renaissance Would Tour has fittingly take the world by storm. Every time she performs fans flood to social media to see what new outfits she’s debuted and which celebs were spotted in the crowd. Just last night she performed in Warsaw with Lizzo, Zendaya, and Tom Holland in attendance. Though Queen B has been touring in Europe for a while she gave her U.S. fans a treat this morning in the form of new merch.

In a tweet this morning Amazon Music announced the surprise drop of new Beyonce merch. The Amazon Music x Beyonce Collection Drop 1.0 appears to be the first in a series of new merch drops. The collection includes, two shirts, a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a poster. It can be purchased exclusively from Amazon. While they are currently still available the expectation is that they will sell out quickly. Much of the original Renaissance merch flew off the shelves last year. That material was sold through Beyonce’s own website and included pieces that were completely unavailable after just a few hours.

Almost everything that has happened on the Renaissance Tour has been news worthy. Last week Beyonce narrowly avoided a major wardrobe malfunction during one of the stops. The quick thinking of one of her frequent collaborators on stage saved the moment. She’s also been donating money to various businesses along the way. The most recent donation helped save a North London restaurant from closing due to rising energy costs.

Queen B and husband Jay-Z also recently stopped by Paris for Fashion Week. They made an appearance in support of Pharrell at the Louis Vuitton fashion show. It was Pharrell’s debut collection as the Head of Menswear at the company and celebrities showed out in bulk. Also in attendance were Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Pusha T, and Offset. Jay-Z, Tyler, and even Pharrell himself took the stage to perform after the show. Moriah Mills Claims She’s Pregnant Amid Zion Williamson Drama

Moriah Mills has been a menace over these past few weeks. For those who don’t know who she is, well, she is the alleged mistress of Zion Williamson. Overall, she would tell you she was the main chick. However, she has ultimately taken on the role of his stalker ever since he announced he was having a child with another woman. This has subsequently led to numerous social media freakouts in which she has tweeted up a storm about the NBA star. In fact, she even got her Twitter account suspended for her efforts.

At this point, it feels like there is nothing Moriah Mills won’t do for attention. She recently got “Zion” tattooed on her face, which was some of the wildest clout chasing we have seen in a minute. Now, however, her latest move could actually be quite damaging to Williamson, if it turns out to be false. In the Instagram post below from Neighborhood Talk, you can see that Mills posted what appears to be a positive pregnancy test.

Moriah Mills Can’t Help Herself

If she actually is pregnant, then that means Zion has two children on the way. However, if she isn’t pregnant, then this is one of the saddest attempts at attention we have ever seen. Overall, this is the type of stuff you don’t play with. Although, no one is giving Mills the benefit of the doubt due to her previous actions. It is the sad reality of the situation, although it is completely Mills’ fault here. Only time will tell whether or not she is really telling the truth about her pregnancy.

Throughout all of this, Zion Williamson has yet to actually give Mills attention. Instead, he has simply sat back and watched from a distance. Hopefully, everything works out for him in the end. Houston Rockets Linked With Massive Contract For Fred VanVleet

The Houston Rockets have become the frontrunners to sign Fred VanVleet when free agency opens on June 30. The 29-year-old guard is coming off a down season for the Raptors, where he shot 39.3% and scored 19.3 points per game. It’s the second time in the past three seasons that VanVleet has played at least 50 games and shot below 40%. Subsequently, the Raptors went 41-41 and did not progress past the Play-In Tournament. This led to the firing of head coach Nick Nurse and a rumored rebuild in Toronto.

However, that has not stopped the Rockets from pursuing their chase for the guard. Having picked up one of the Thompson Brothers in the draft, their third top-five pick in the last three years, the Rockets are looking to bring some veteran talent to help lead the team. They have been heavily linked with a reunion with James Harden, but are also eyeing a massive contract for the career Raptor too.

Rockets’ Offer For VanVleet Rumored At $83.6M Over 2 Years

Per Marc Stein, the Rockets reportedly want to snag VanVleet with a 2-year, $83.6 million contract. By comparison, VanVleet made $85 million over four years in his most recent contract with the Raptors. Evidently, the Rockets are hoping that VanVleet’s 2022-23 campaign was merely a blip and that the guard can return to his All-Star form from the season prior. Furthermore, Stein indicates that the Rockets may turn their attention to Boston’s Jaylen Brown if they can’t acquire Harden or VanVleet.

The VanVleet pursuit comes as the Rockets look to turn the corner on their reboot under new head coach Ime Udoka. With the addition of 2023 first-rounder Armen Thompson, the Rockets have a young, strong Big Three. However, the team is very much lacking in the way of meaningful depth and impact veterans. Despite this, the rumored offer is a lock of money to throw at a guy coming off one of the worst years of this career. In the clip, she exposes the reality of dating 50 Cent, revealing that it’s not always all it’s cracked up to be. She showcases images of herself looking less than thrilled as the rapper appears to smush her in his sleep.

“Some nights I can’t breathe but I’m alive!,” she captioned the clip. Fans rushed to Cuban Link’s comments section to weigh in on the funny Instagram vs. Reality comparison. “It’s the choke hold for me,” writes one social media user, alongside a series of laughing emojis. “That mean you are his peace and I love it!!!,” another commenter adds.

The pair have been together since 2019, even sparking some engagement rumors earlier this year. In April, Cuban Link posted a sweet clip to Instagram where she’s seen hyping up her man at one of his shows. A rep for 50 Cent later shut down the rumors, revealing that the happy couple has yet to take that step in their relationship.

In March of this year, 50 Cent told Mary J. Blige on The Wine Down that he just loves to make Cuban Link happy. “I’m in a friendship with a woman, and I’m finding gratification out of seeing her happy,” he explained. The rapper continued, describing his love for Cuban Link. “At that point, I think I’m in love with her,” he revealed, “‘Cause even if her friends or her people are there, and they’re doing their thing, I’m happy because I know she’s really happy at that point. However, his latest snippets were more in line with what we usually hear from him. Now though, it seems like he is about to collaborate with one of the biggest artists in the world. 50 Cent Receives 1 Billion Stream Plaque From Spotify

One of the biggest ways to prove a song is popular these days is by checking its streaming numbers. Some of the biggest hits of the past few years have racked up billions and billions of streams. Post Malone’s “Rockstar” and “Sunflower” have both generated more than 2.7 Billion streams. The Weeknd’s mega-hit “Blinding Lights” leads the way with over 3.6 billion streams. What’s even more impressive is when songs that predate streaming altogether manage to hit streaming milestones. Artists like Queen, Eminem, Coldplay, Nirvana and The Killers have all found success on the platform. Each artist has at least one song with a billion streams that came out before Spotify was founded.

Recently, 50 Cent joined that group with a milestone of his own. His 2003 smash-hit “In Da Club” recently became the newest song to join the billion streams club. The song now has over 400 million more streams that his second biggest hit on the platform, “Candy Shop.” The track joins The White Stripes hit song “Seven Nation Army” among tracks from 2003 to hit 1 billion streams. To celebrate, Spotify sent 50 Cent a plaque sporting a silver plated version of their logo to celebrate.

Recently 50 Cent was hailed as a good luck charm for an appearance at an NHL game. The rapper sounded the siren to kick off Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals a few weeks ago in Las Vegas. The game ultimately became the clinching win for the Las Vegas Golden Knights to take home the Stanley Cup.

50 Cent also started some controversy earlier this month when he spoke out against the WGA strike. In his assessment, the strike would make things worse for writers rather than better. His comments were widely condemned by many pro-union artists. The scenario got even worse when one of his producers threatened to hit striking writers with his SUV. Netflix’s Squid Game was undoubtedly a monumental success. It was only a matter of time before the streaming titan capitalized on the show’s popularity. While a sequel series is in the works, a reality television competition show is underway. Titled Squid Game: The Challenge, the show was greenlit and announced in mid-2022. Above all, responses to the creation of the upcoming competition show have been mixed.

However, the anticipation of Squid Game: The Challenge is due to more than just mixed reviews. The reality show has garnered significant controversy as a result of allegedly maltreating its contestants. There have been varying accounts of how players have been treated during filming. Now, there’s a heavy buzz surrounding the show as viewers gear up for its release. Nonetheless, Netflix has announced the show will hit the platform in November, 2023, with a heavy cash prize attached.

What is Squid Game: The Challenge?

With scenarios, outfits, and challenges reminiscent of the original series, Squid Game: The Challenge lives up to its name. The first look of the upcoming competition has been released by Netflix. Fans can expect to see a set that’s nearly identical to the popular South Korean series. 456 players will be dressed in similar green and white tracksuits, with only numbers to identify who’s who. The infamous Red Light, Green Light game, as seen in the original series will also be making a comeback. 

The major difference between the original series and the competition is that there will be no real-life deaths. Netflix has also released a synopsis of what viewers should expect from Squid Game: The Challenge. It reads: “Though the reality version of Squid Game isn’t a matter of life or death, there’s still a lot on the line: 456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in reality television history. Through a series of games, each player will be pushed to their limits and forced to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to win, with opportunistic alliances, cutthroat strategies, and timely betrayals to follow.”

While elimination by death is expectedly not included in Squid Game: The Challenge, the show is not without controversy. Earlier in January, reports began to swirl that contestants were put under harsh conditions. Importantly enough, some contestants allegedly passed out during filming, mostly due to the harrowing weather. Squid Game: The Challenge was filmed in the United Kingdom. Some contestants reported that the game continued filming even in the midst of a cold snap.

With a large sum as the prize, many contestants understandably decided to toughen it out. However, others were not so lucky and were reportedly hauled out in stretchers. In addition to this, medics were called in ever so often to attend to ailing contestants’ physical issues.

Response From The Series’ Creators

Hwang Dong-hyuk, creator of the original Squid Game series, has expressed his concerns about the upcoming competition. He likened the reality show to the original series, in relation to the seriousness of contestants, especially with such a grand prize in view. Nevertheless, in February, Netflix, Studio Lambert, and The Garden released a joint statement on the matter. They denied any claims of any contestants facing severe physical harm. 

The statement read: “We care deeply about the health of our cast and crew, and the quality of this show. Any suggestion that the competition is rigged or claims of serious harm to players are simply untrue. We’ve taken all the appropriate safety precautions, including after care for contestants – and an independent adjudicator is overseeing each game to ensure it’s fair to everyone.”

Auditions are currently ongoing for potential future seasons. In addition to this, an American remake of the series is in the works.

Ice-T Speaks On Trying Ecstasy With Coco: Watch

Deemed “the greatest Drink Champs story ever,” Ice-T came onto the show to chat it up with NORE about the first time he got high with his wife, Coco. The episode, which launches Thursday on Revolt TV, features the Law & Order alum going back to his roots when he actually rapped. This specific story details Ice-T and Coco hitting the club, with his then-girlfriend asking him to find some ecstasy. And while he succeeded in his search, it didn’t happen the way he expected it to.

Ice-T walked around the club, asking people if they had some E. When he finally found “the man,” the guy yelled out, “Yo, Ice-T’s trying to get high!” The L.A. rapper told this person that he heard he was “the man.” In response, the guy pulled out roughly 20 tablets of MDMA, put them into Ice-T’s hand, and said, “You heard I’m the man? Now YOU’RE the man!” What he and Coco did with that much molly is anyone’s guess. (Perhaps he tells the Drink Champs crew in the full podcast episode. We’ll have to wait and see.)

Ice-T’s Funny Streak

The rapper-turned-actor was once known for his prolific 90s music career. But for over two decades, he has played a pivotal role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has an incredible 515+ episodes under his belt. His character provides comic relief on the show while also remaining a strong presence for TV-based justice. Nowadays, his character on SVU would arrest early-2000 Ice-T, complete with an off-hand quip about the dangers of unwittingly dealing ecstasy.

He has his jokes for sure, and he doesn’t save them for podcasts. (In fact, he’s on record warning music artists about the dangers of podcasts.) Ice-T uses Twitter and twiddling thumbs to offer hilarious commentary on the state of pop culture today. He’s mentioned he can’t get out of a parking ticket in L.A. like his SVU costars can because “I’m Black.” Then there was that one day he learned how fans “shipped” certain TV characters, leading to some fun Tweets about this odd cultural trend. In any case, Ice-T is great for a laugh or two, and he has plenty of stories from his 30-year career as a rapper and actor.
