Safaree & Amara La Negra Bump & Grind For Instagram

Safaree and Amara La Negra just put on an intimate dance show for Instagram, bumping and grinding with each other. Moreover, the classic Marc Anthony hit “Pa’lla Voy” played in the background, and the Jamaican-American artist captioned the post with “Trying to teach me wth” and some laughing emojis. Of course, given Amara’s Dominican descent, she has those salsa moves on point. On that note, it actually wasn’t all that intimate, as they danced more traditionally before getting closer. With this, the “Love & Hip Hop” alumni gave yet another instance of PDA– and we’ll see how this one goes over with Safaree’s ex-wife Erica Mena.

Furthermore, she recently blasted him for his lousy gifts to their daughter on her birthday, while he gave new boo Amara’s twin babies matching Rolex watches for their small wrists. After Mena and Safaree finalized their divorce in September of last year, it seems like things are still pretty rocky between the two. After all, Erica alleged that the 41-year-old only got their daughter a birthday cake and some balloons for her third birthday. With that discrepancy in mind, it’s not hard to see why she would lash out.

Amara La Negra & Safaree Get Up Close & Personal Dancing

“Awe so cute,” Erica Mena began her takedown of Safaree and Amara La Negra under a post covering his Rolex gifts. “It’s just very interesting how my kids have NEVER received gifts like this by this waste man. My daughter just turned three. All she got was a birthday cake and a few balloons in his living room.” Apparently that isn’t even the worst of it. She said he didn’t celebrate their son’s first birthday “until two weeks after the fact,” and he only brought balloons. “Happy [everybody] enjoyed this circus-themed birthday party with a deadbeat clown as the special guest.”

“Before I go someone @ him,” Erica continued in another comment. “He blocked me since I won’t take his crying begging a** back ([hence] why [he’s] now desperately shooting in Miami). Let him know he has medical bills that’s only $8K for last year he owes along with… Never mind just tell him he got it. Pay it.” For the latest on Safaree and Amara La Negra, check back in with HNHH.

Drake Celebrates Historic Toronto Hockey Win

On April 29, the Toronto Maple Leafs edged the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in overtime to win their first-round NHL playoff series 4-2. It was a monumental achievement for the Leafs, who had not progressed past the first round of the playoffs since 2004. While the Leafs had made the playoffs every year since 2017, they were eliminated in the opening round every time. The post-2004 drought also included 7 consecutive seasons where the Leafs missed the playoffs entirely.

The city of Toronto was awash with jubilant hockey fans, celebrating the team’s win. The win was especially sweet given the Lightning eliminated the Leafs in the first round last season. Among the celebrating fans was Drake, the Toronto-born rapper and die-hard Leafs fan. Drake has never been shy about his hockey fandom. Furthermore, his OVO clothing brand has previously collabed with the Leafs.

Drake Shares Emotional Post On Instagram

A year ago, Drake posted a “goodnight Tampa” message on Instagram right before the Leafs choked a game-seven loss. Now he had reason to celebrate. Taking to his Instagram story, Drake posted a picture of a video of raucous celebrations in Toronto. He included an emoji whose eyes are welling up with tears. The rapper was not in attendance, instead performing in Chile. Drake, born October 1986, has never seen his Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup Finals. The closest they have come in his lifetime is a 4-3 loss in the 1993 Conference Finals. The Maple Leafs will face the winner of the Bruins-Panthers series, which concludes on Sunday.

Drake recently took flak in another Toronto sports matter. When the Toronto Raptors were downed by the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Play-In. Some people blamed Drake. “That’s on Drake, really. If you don’t have Drake and if that doesn’t work the niceties of offering her things to make her stop shrieking, you get physical. You get her out,” radio host Pat Boyle said of DeMar DeRozan’s daughter. Boyle would go on to tweet “Explain yourself @Drake why weren’t you there last night? The Raptors loss is on you for not incentivizing Diar DeRozan to be quiet during free throws.”

Miguel’s New Single Lands At The Top Of This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist: Stream

While many people prefer to listen to slow jams to get them through the colder months, we’re still bringing plenty of heat to our R&B Season playlist updates this spring. One of our recent favourites comes from Miguel, who shared his first new solo single in some time earlier this week. Called “Give It To Me,” the fully-expected sultry song boasts hypnotic production that only compliments the 37-year-old’s silky smooth voice. It remains unclear if he has plans to share more with fans later this year, though we’ll certainly remain hopeful.

Another noteworthy release comes from Halle Bailey’s work on The Little Mermaid soundtrack. Disney and the Atlanta native are both gearing up for the film’s release next month. Despite the backlash they’ve received for casting Ariel as a Black woman, the vocalist seems to be completely unbothered and is instead leaning into excitement. “Part of Your World,” one of the movie’s most recognizable tracks arrived on DSPs (and our R&B Season playlist) within the past few days, showcasing Bailey’s beautiful vocals. She’s obviously best known for singing alongside her sister, Chlöe, but this proves that Halle is more than capable of holding her own.

R&B legend Smokey Robinson came through with a sultry new album on Friday (April 28), called Gasms. The nine-track effort is featureless and finds the 83-year-old doing what he does best – setting a sensual mood for listeners with his iconic voice and musical sensibilities. We’ve picked the titular track as our favourite, though he previously shared “If We Don’t Have Each Other” and “How You Make Me Feel” as singles.

Our final pick is another solo effort, this one from Baby Rose’s Through and Through album. It’s called “Water,” and appears on the tracklist alongside efforts like “I Won’t Tell” with Smino” and “Go.” Stream this weekend’s round-up, exclusively on Spotify below. Afterward, tell us which artist had your favourite new arrival in the comments. Chris Brown Praised By Pharrell During Something In The Water Guest Performance

Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival in Virginia Beach has an insane lineup over three days, so it’s no surprise that it’s given us some standout performance moments so far. However, among its many surprise guests and memorable sets was none other than Virginia native Chris Brown. Moreover, the R&B star appeared to perform some hits for the crowd, showing off his dance moves and vocal range. What’s more is that the Neptunes icon came out on stage to give Brown his flowers. During his remarks, he noted the many talents and artistic areas in which he’s thrived for almost two decades.

“Nah, nah, nah,” Pharrell began. “Make some noise for our brother. Came all the way over here to make this happen. Make some noise for Virginia’s own, Chris Brown! Lil bro, listen, there’s only one you. There’s only one you. Give this man his flowers again, make some noise for Virginia’s own! The dancing-est, singing-est, craziest video-making singing dude in R&B and pop music until now. Make some noise for our brother Chris Brown!”

Something In The Water Gets A Breezy Surprise

Furthermore, as the In My Mind star went on, Brown continuously thanked Pharrell and the crowd for their love. When he left the stage, he asked the crowd to turn up and be safe, adding that he loves them. Despite what this guest appearance might have you believe, the “Yeah 3x” singer actually isn’t a fan of performing in the States anymore. When a fan asked him when he’d perform at the Super Bowl, he said that he doesn’t want to perform for a crowd he doesn’t feel appreciates him. “Never shawty,” he responded to the fan. “American media AINT FA me. Rather be where I’m welcomed.”

Of course, that is likely due to his many public controversies which, although years-old, continue to be brought up by him or by fans. As such, discussion surrounding Chris Brown these days seems to be at least equally divided between his music and his actions, if not slanted towards the latter. While that is a righteous discussion to have as he continues to avoid accountability and give a sincere reflection, maybe Something In The Water proved him wrong about his ability to connect with audiences in the U.S. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chris Brown and check out Pharrell’s words of admiration below.

50 Cent Loved Roy Wood Jr.’s Monologue

April 29 marked the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is, it’s when an annual event that serves a roast of the President, popular culture, and the world as it is. It’s become famous for both its host monologues as well as the remarks made by the President himself.

Obama was especially noted for this WHCDs, once bringing out Keegan Michael-Key to play his “anger translator” while he made his speech. Many famous faces were in attendance last night, ranging from sports stars to the cast of Vanderpump Rules. While not in attendance, 50 Cent shared his feelings on part of the monologue delivered by The Daily Show host Roy Wood Jr.

50 Cent Declares “BMF” and “Power” Joke “Some Funny Shit”

A large portion of both Wood Jr. and Biden’s remarks revolved around the recent firing of long-time Fox host, Tucker Carlson. “Scandals have been devouring careers this year,” Wood Jr. begins in the clip shared by 50 Cent, “The untouchable Tucker Carlson is out of the job. [cheers and applause from the audience] Well, some people celebratin’. But to Tucker’s staff, I want you to know that I know what you’re feeling. I work at The Daily Show, so I too know what it’s like to be blindsided by the sudden departure of the host of the fake news program.”

“Tucker got caught up! He got caught up like that dude from Vanderpump Rules,” Wood Jr. continued, “Text message stuff. I don’t know what Vanderpump Rules is about, only watched it a couple times. My friends tell me it’s like BMF but for white people. Or is that Succession? No, Succession is Power but for white people. No! Tucker Carlson is power for white people. No, that’s white power, ya know never mind, don’t worry about that one. We gotta Tucker back on the air, Mister President. Right now there’s millions of Americans who don’t know why they hate you.” 50 Cent, who created BMF and Power declared it “some funny shit”. He also poked fun at the unflattering shot of President Biden the clip ends with. What did you think of the WHCD monologue?

Chance The Rapper Reflects On How Drug-Fueled Lifestyle Could’ve Killed Him

Chance The Rapper’s seminal mixtape Acid Rap is one of the most beloved mixtapes of the 2010s decade, whether you ask Chance fans or hip-hop heads at large. However, that era also represented a dark time for the Chicago star. Moreover, he recently spoke to Complex and reflected on his heavy drug use at the time, which he believes would’ve killed him if he continued down that path. As the project celebrates its tenth anniversary, this context sheds a dark light on an otherwise bright start to his mainstream success. As a treat to fans, he will perform an anniversary concert at Chicago’s United Center on August 19.

Still, such celebration is underscored by the 30-year-old’s reflections on his personal struggles. “I probably would have died,” Chance The Rapper remarked to the publication. “Definitely, the way that I was living at that time. I had everything in excess. Right after I dropped the project, I went on a few tours where I really didn’t make any money. Then I went on my first tour, my headlining tour, where I made some money.”

Chance The Rapper Reflects On His Heavy Drug Use

After that monetary boost, the “Same Drugs” artist said that he went through a lot of changes in his personal life. Despite his burgeoning success, he said that drugs followed him along the way. “I went and rented a crib,” he explained. “This is my first time living outside of my parents’ house in another city and having money and doing a lot of drugs.” From his perspective, substance dependency made him a “different” and also “lesser” person than he is today. Later on in the interview, he theorized what his place in hip-hop would be if he hadn’t had an awakening.

“If I hadn’t had my spirit tugged on- literally- and a calling to become a better version of myself, then I would have died for sure,” Chance expressed. “Then I would just be the representative of acid and I’m so much more.” If you want to read Complex‘s full interview with the Coloring Book star, check it out here. Rihanna Serves Serious Mother Goose Vibes Wearing Vintage Chanel In New York Ahead Of The Met Gala

The final weekend of April is upon us which means that tomorrow (May 1), marks not only the start of a new month but also the annual Met Gala. This year’s event is honouring the late Karl Lagerfeld, who spent decades at the helm of brands like Chanel, Fendi, and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as his own label. For months now there’s been speculation about which celebrities will be included on the prestigious guest list. It was previously reported that the Kardashian-Jenners wouldn’t be in attendance after almost the entire family walked the carpet last year, however, Kim has since hinted that she’ll be in New York. Others who may show up include Beyoncé, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna.

The Barbadian-born songstress all but confirmed that she’ll be at the Met Gala on Saturday (April 29) night. Paparazzi cameras caught her back in the Big Apple after her long trip to Paris with A$AP Rocky and their son. She stepped out sans her family to grab dinner in New York with friends, wearing a vintage Chanel outfit designed by Lagerfeld for the French fashion house’s F/W 1994 collection. Rihanna’s fur-clad white mini dress is serving serious mother goose vibes. Ever the expert accessorizer, she topped things off with a matching black and white hat, sparkly heels, and double C sunglasses to make it clear who was responsible for designing her look.

Rihanna Dons Vintage Chanel for Dinner

The Chanel style has been earning Rihanna plenty of praise all across social media so far. However, as TMZ notes, PETA may take issue with it if the fur is real. Just a few weeks ago, the activist organization sent a letter to the 35-year-old regarding a coat she wore which was made from animals. At the time, they asked her to consider exchanging her garment for a faux one, giving the authentic one instead to those suffering in war-torn countries after losing their own clothing. It remains unclear how, or if, Rih responded, though she’s never been one to shy away from pushing fashion boundaries.

Should the ANTI hitmaker appear tomorrow, it will surely be just another success in her long-running streak of stunning the world with her maternity style. Are you excited to potentially see Rihanna at tomorrow’s Met Gala? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in later for more pop culture and hip-hop news updates.
