Charlamagne Tha God Announces Black Effect Podcast Festival
Radio host Charlamagne Tha God is bringing podcasts to life this summer in collaboration with iHeartMedia. His podcast network, Black Effect, is noted as the first organization of its nature to cater to Black listeners. The Black Effect Podcast Festival will take place on April 22nd in Atlanta, Georgia. Charlamagne will host the live podcasting event alongside comedian Jess Hilarious. Several of the network’s most popular shows will be featured at the festival, including The 85 South Show, Whoreible Decisions, and Big Facts. Additionally, Reasonably Shady and Checking In will also be hosted in front of a live audience.
In a statement released on Black Effect’s website, the network’s mission remains to bring “together the most talented and trusted voices in Black culture for critical conversations on social justice, pop culture, and more.” The network currently supports 30 shows, ranging in categories including crime, health, and business. Charlamagne expressed the news about the festival in a press statement, saying, “in 2023, Black creators are at the forefront of a movement reverberating across today’s cultural landscape, and we’re excited to bring this to life for the community at The Black Effect Podcast Festival in Atlanta this spring.” He added, “with this festival we want to inspire and uplift new and aspiring podcasters while also showcasing the incredible voices on The Black Effect Podcast Network.”
Charlamagne Will Present Live Podcasts From The Black Effect Network This April
The Breakfast Club co-host continues to make history as a radio host with the Black Effect Podcast Festival. In 2020, the same year that his network emerged, he became inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Since then, Charlamagne has also hosted his Comedy Central show, Hell of A Week with Charlamagne tha God since 2021. The 44-year-old has interviewed a vast range of famous names over the years, from Kamala Harris to Kanye West.
The Black Effect Podcast Festival, which initiates the network’s first major event, will not only feature live broadcasts of shows but will also boast food and a Black Effect Marketplace that will showcase local businesses. The festival’s line-up will also feature music by Dj Loui Vee. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 1) at noon EST, and are officially available through the Black Effect website. Firstly, the shoe begins with a white leather toe box, which is a color that extends to the Nike swoosh, tongue, and laces. From there, the rest of the shoe is covered in different colors. The toe box panel is pink, the side panel is yellow, the back is covered in blue, purple, and green, while light pink is found going up the laces. Overall, these colors come together to create something truly special.

Now that he’s had an undeniably successful run in the music industry, Abel Tesfaye is turning his talents to acting. He’s been in plenty of his own creative visuals to accompany his songs over the years. However, it wasn’t until 2019 that he captured the world’s attention while playing himself in A24’s Uncut Gems alongside Julia Fox and Adam Sandler.

According to Variety, the “Blinding Lights” singer has co-written a movie script with Reza Fahim, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss. At this time, the story’s premise remains unknown, but so far, we know that a buzzworthy cast will be assisting The Weeknd. Tesfaye will take on his first leading role in the forthcoming film, with Oscar-nominated The Banshees of Inisherin star Barry Keoghan appearing beside him.
Additionally, 20-year-old Jenna Ortega, who most recently found success as the lead in Netflix’s Wednesday, is on board. Trey Edward Shults will be sitting in the director’s chair, following his work on Waves and It Comes at Night. He also played a role in writing the unnamed project’s script and will be executive producing alongside The Weeknd. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles, with more updates likely to pour in over the coming months.

RHOA Star Peter Thomas Faces Charges After Choking A Woman At His Restaurant
Entrepreneur Peter Thomas apparently doesn’t live by the customer’s always right motto. Today (February 28), the 62-year-old found himself in an unfavorable situation, which accordingly brought upon criminal charges to his name. While at his Baltimore restaurant Bar One, Thomas allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and proceeded to choke her. According to The Neighborhood Talk, the victim, although unnamed, has been identified as the niece of reality star Tammy Rivera.
The victim, who was dining at the establishment, claimed to have noticed Thomas inebriated and in a bad mood. Correspondingly, she shared her observations with her friends. Thomas, who was sitting in the same section as her group, supposedly overheard the remarks and proceeded to act out of anger. According to the woman, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta alum had aggressively grabbed her throat and maintained pressure as staff members tried to intervene.
Thomas Allegedly Grabbed Tammy Rivera’s Niece By The Throat
Thomas, whose resume also includes P.R. work at an artist management company and a hip-hop firm, has yet to comment on the ordeal. But, his attack on Rivera’s niece has landed him criminal charges. During the course of his time on the show, Thomas appeared alongside his ex-wife Cynthia Bailey. The show followed the trials and tribulations he would run into while managing his businesses, including Bar One. Fans of the Real Housewives took to Twitter to share their opinions, with one user tweeting, “Peter Thomas choking a woman at bar one in Baltimore was not on my bingo card.” Others noted similarities between his current actions with other stars from the show, with one user writing, “him and Mia have also violence in common I guess.”
Unsurprisingly, this has not been the first time that Thomas has faced trouble with the law. In 2019, the television personality was arrested for allegedly writing fraudulent checks. After spending six days in the Miami-Dade County jail, Thomas was ultimately released, addressing the ordeal as a mistake in an Instagram post. Tom Brady is officially retired from the NFL, which means he is free to pursue whatever he wants. Although, it seems like Brady is more focused on spending time with his family right now. For instance, the NFL legend has told Fox Sports that he will only begin his broadcasting deal in 2024. Simply put, Brady just wants to do his own thing right now. Overall, it is easy to see why he would feel this way. He has dedicated 23 years of his life to NFL football, and at this point, his kids just want to spend some time with him at home.
However, there has been some chatter about what Brady’s next move will be. In fact, there have been some very interesting rumors about Brady wanting to become a stand-up comedian. Brady has always tried to portray his humorous side, although becoming a comedian seems to be a bit of a stretch. Thankfully, according to TMZ, these rumors are anything but true. That said, he does have something else comedy related in the works.

As the outlet reports, Brady wants to be the subject of a Roast special. Although Comedy Central has been the face of Roasts in the past, Brady would be looking to do this special on Netflix. After all, Netflix is the streaming service that drops the biggest bag on these kinds of projects. Essentially, Tom Brady would be looking for his friends and comedians to roast him in what would prove to be a hilarious evening of comedy. For now, however, very little is known about this potential deal.

Philadelphia artists are being debated, and one of the city’s icons, DJ Jazzy Jeff, is weighing in. The Rap legend began his career alongside his best friend Will Smith, and soon, the pair were a staple in the mainstream. They were teased about their propensity to avoid violent or sexually explicit lyrics. Instead, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince—their full stage name—gave us classics like “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” “Girls Ain’t Nothin’ But Trouble,” and “Summertime.”
Recently, fellow Philly artists Meek Mill and Lil Uzi Vert’s names have been entangled in a debate. Fans have discussed whether Uzi’s “Just Wanna Rock” or Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares” is the anthem for the City of Brotherly Love. DJ Drama Lights The Fire
It was DJ Drama who first ignited this conversation. He was stopped by a TMZ cameraperson and offered the hot take. “I think it’s fair to say that ‘Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced — with all due respect — ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia,” he said. Of course, Uzi was one of Drama’s artists so there may be a bias. “The new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year. I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times Super Bowl weekend.”
The comments prompted Meek and Uzi to react. The latter honored his peer, calling Meek “the big homie.” Uzi also acknowledged that it was far too early to compare his new track to Meek’s classic. “That song like been around for a very long time,” said Uzi. “And that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.” Only time will tell.
DJ Jazzy Jeff Picks His Choice
“I don’t think you could ever go against Meek Mill’s ‘Dreams and Nightmares,’” said the music and television great. “Lil Uzi’s ‘Just Wanna Rock’ is a dope song. Everybody loves it, but ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ took the city by storm. It took every sports team by storm. So, it’s going to be ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ for me.”
