[WATCH] ‘Waffle House Wendy’ Fired A Year After Fight Video Goes Viral

In case you missed it, social media has been entertained all week by the fight between customers and employees at Waffle House.

While the fight actually occurred in 2021, the video resurfaced online in late December 2022 resulting in one of the employees getting fired.

In the video, a customer is seen attacking employees while they defend themselves. One customer climbed on top of the counter while others threw items including even a chair. She was then in for a surprise when one employee caught a chair that was thrown at her.

After the video went viral many joked about the training at Waffle House. Even the legendary Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, was impressed enough to share a video of herself making firewood out of a chair.

Although the employee who caught the chair was defending herself, Wendy was terminated when the video went viral – more than a year after the fight.

According to Wendy, she was quietly terminated and told to turn in her smock and name badge after the video went viral. She started out as a short order cook before being promoted to shift manager 8 months ago. Now she is on the unemployment line. Wendy was also “blacklisted” by Waffle House to prevent her from working at another Waffle House in America. Wendy, a.k.a. @witchdragon5, popped up on Twitter on Dec. 30 to inform her growing fan club that she was terminated for defending herself.

Do you think the punishment was fair?

Co-Defendant In XXXTentacion Murder Says Drake, DJ Akademiks Must Be Subpoenaed To Trial

Screen Shot 2023 01 02 at 6.15.04 AM

XXXTentacion’s 2018 murder in South Florida will soon see justice with a January 9, 2023 trial date, however, the request by one of the co-defendants accused of the killing to subpoena Drake has intensified, with his lawyer filing a formal request to have Drake and DJ Akademiks testify in court claiming their alleged involvement.

Mauricio Padilla, the attorney for Dedrick Williams, one of the four men accused of fatally shooting XXXTentacion, submitted a request to Broward County Circuit Judge Michael Usan to have Drake and DJ Akademiks subpoenaed to court. The submitted document says, “The testimony of the said Aubrey Drake Graham is material to the case, and it is necessary to take the deposition of the said Aubrey Drake Graham to prevent the failure of justice.”

It was well known that Drake and XXXTencion had beef before his death, with X accusing Drizzy of stealing his style and now Williams’ attorney alleges that Drake spoke on X’s murder in the song “On BS”. Padilla added Akademiks to his subpoena list because he says that Ak speaks on the case regularly on his platform. “Mr. Allen, who goes by the stage name ‘DJ Akademiks,’ posted his podcast on December 21, where he openly discusses the case, acknowledges being served, and states, ‘I am not showing up to court to talk to y’all n****s.’ It is clear that nothing short of a court order will ensure Mr. Allen’s participation in a deposition,” read the request.

The trial begins a week from today. TheSource.com will update this story as details develop.

Mike Pompeo Calls To Ban Chinese Travelers Over COVID-19 Variant

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the United States should ban Chinese travelers from entering the country. Pompeo theorized that Chinese President Xi Jinping has a plot to infect the world with a new COVID-19 variant. Pompeo explained his theory to John Catsimatidis on Cats Roundtable.

“It sounds like we might have as many as 1 million Chinese people infected. Fifty percent of their population traveling,” Pompeo said on the program, Sunday.

He continued: “There is no reason we should allow the Chinese to do this again, to send Chinese-infected persons around the world, knowingly infecting people all across the globe.”

“Xi got away with this once,” Pompeo said, before admitting that he feels regretful over 2020. “We should still do that for the 6 million people who died between the spring of 2020 and today.”

“But he’s doing it again,” he added. “Just as in the spring of 2020 [when] he sent people around the world he knew were infected.”

“He’s going to infect millions more,” Pompeo concluded. “We shouldn’t let that happen.”

Pompeo served as Secretary of State under President Donald Trump from April 2018 until the end of his presidency.

The U.S., Australia, Canada, and the U.K. have all mandated regulations for travelers from China. They will have to submit a negative coronavirus test before entering the respective counties.

The Weeknd Celebrates As “Blinding Lights” Becomes Spotify’s Most Streamed Song

The Weeknd’s hit song, “Blinding Lights,” has reportedly become the most-streamed song on Spotify of all time. The Toronto singer celebrated the news on Twitter on New Year’s Eve.

“FOR NEW YEARS ???,” The Weeknd wrote, before following up, “happy new years to blinding lights. the most streamed song of all time tonight.”

The Weeknd first shared “Blinding Lights” back on November 29, 2019, as the second single from his fourth studio album, After Hours. The track debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 but went on to spend four weeks at the top spot. It eventually became the first song to hold a spot in the top 10 on the chart for an entire year.

According to Spotify’s Daily Global chart, the song has passed Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” by 918K filtered streams. Sheeran discussed the possibility of “Blinding Lights” passing his song on The Breakfast Club, earlier this year.

“‘Blinding Lights’ is about to take over ‘Shape of You’ as the most-streamed song of all time. And I don’t think that that debuted at #1. I think it debuted at like 11 or 12. And then it grew, and now it’s the biggest song of all time,” Sheeran said at the time.

In addition to “Blinding Lights,” The Weeknd also ended 2022 as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year. He dropped his latest album, Dawn FM, back in January. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with 148,000 album-equivalent units. It was supported by the singles, “Take My Breath”, “Sacrifice”, “Out of Time” and “Less than Zero.”

Angela Bassett’s Son Apologizes For Michael B. Jordan Death Prank

Angela Bassett’s 16-year-old son, Slater Vance, has apologized after playing into a prank about the death of Michael B. Jordan. In a TikTok video, Slater told his parents that the iconic actor passed away.

For the trending prank, someone pretends that a famous celebrity has died and records the reaction of the person they’re telling. In Slater’s clip, Bassett clutches at her chest in response, while his father, Courtney B. Vance, refuses to believe the news.

Slater later shared an apology for the insensitive TikTok.

“I apologize to Michael B. Jordan’s entire family, his extended family, and him directly as he is an idol of mine,” Slater said. “Taking part in a trend like this is completely disrespectful. I don’t wish any bad ramifications upon his family nor my parents as they deserve none of the backlash.”

Slater added: “I own this was a mistake. I hope this can be a teaching lesson to anyone who uses social media as a tool and a source of entertainment to truly understand that your actions can have consequences that extend beyond you.”

Bassett recently starred alongside Jordan in both Black Panther and its sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Finneas, brother of Billie Eilish, called on his young followers to stop the trend.

“I haven’t laughed once at any of your videos of you telling your parents somebody died when they didn’t actually die,” Finneas said in his own video, before adding, “Your parents are showing vulnerability for a brief second and you’re laughing at them.”

As for whether he’d file a lawsuit to get the rights, he responded: “No, ain’t gonna sue nobody.”

Cube has been outspoken about his difficulties in getting a fourth Friday film made for quite some time. Speaking about the idea during a recent appearance on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast, Cube called on the studio to “do the right thing.”

“They need to do the right thing, get it to us, let us turn it into more money, and make the fans happy,” Cube said at the time. “We can do a lot with it.”

Ice Cube has also previously said that Warner Brothers rejected two separate scripts for the potential film.

“I’m trying to get it out of Warner Brothers, they don’t believe in the culture man,” Cube told hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on Drink Champs. “I had two scripts. I wrote one; it was the shit. They was like, ‘Yo, we don’t want Craig and Day-Day in jail, ’cause Craig and Day-Day went to jail for selling weed before it was legal!”

Cube released the first Friday film back in 1995. He later added on two sequels, Next Friday and Friday After Next, in 2000 and 2002 respectively.

Mannie Fresh Responds To Critics Of “Vax That Thang Up” Remix

Mannie Fresh has come to the defense of his recent song, “Vax That Thang Up,” a remix of Juvenile’s song, “Back That Azz Up.” He released the track back in 2021 as an effort to promote the COVID-19 vaccine.

Speaking with AllHipHop for a new interview, Fresh addressed the backlash he received for releasing the song.

“When we did the ‘Vax That Thang Up’ song or whatever, it wasn’t a song. It was just a parody telling people to get vaccinated,” he explained. “But it was something that I believed in and I was saying to folks, ‘If you don’t, it’s OK. You don’t have to go and do this. It’s not that serious.’ But there were people saying, ‘You destroyed the song and this song was the greatest song!’ And I’m like, ‘Do you know the title of the song?’ It’s called ‘Back That Azz Up.’ I’m like, ‘Did you listen to the lyrics of this song?’”

Afterward, Fresh discussed the idea of cyberbullying and how it felt to experience it for the first time.

He added: “I never understood cyberbullying until that came out. It didn’t mess with me because I feel like I’m a strong person. But I know kids got to go through this shit sometimes with people. If you got to go through that, it’s tough because folks was going crazy. They really felt angry. They were saying stuff like, ‘You ruined my childhood by doing this’ and blah, blah, blah. You need therapy if this ruined your life [laughs].”

Fresh also says that he’s currently working on new music with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. He also wants to release more of his own work. For now, he says that he’s working on building confidence. Fresh released his last studio album, Return of the Ballin’, back in 2009.
