A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s ‘Me Vs. Myself’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date, Tracklist, And More

The wait is nearly over for fans of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. After postponing his fourth studio album, the Bronx rapper took to social media to confirm Me Vs. Myself will drop this Friday. With a total of 19 songs, the album marks Boogie’s first full-length release in two years.

New York’s music scene has undergone major changes since Boogie first made his mark. However, based on the reception singles “B.R.O. (Better Ride Out)” featuring Roddy Ricch and “Playa” featuring H.E.R. have received, Boogie’s signature melodic sound is still a hit amongst hip hop fans. Boogie’s signature sound isn’t the only thing he’s remained true to. The album’s cover image follows in the same thread of animated artwork splashed across his entire discography.

Other popular acts making an appearance on the album include Lil Durk and Tory Lanez.

In addition to making his musical comeback, the rapper will return to the stage. Next Friday, December 16, Boogie will play to a sold-out crowd at The Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. While his supporting 15-city tour will kick off in Denver next February, ending with three shows in the United Kingdom.

Fat Joe Claims His Unreleased Jay-Z Collab Will Never See The Light Of Day Because Of Some Issue With The NFL

Fat Joe knows a thing or two about letting beef get in the way of making money. The “Lean Back” rapper, who has been making the interview rounds to promote the release of his new memoir, The Book Of Jose, explained last week to GQ how a beef with 50 Cent cost him “about $20 million” from a deal with Jordan brand and other appearance fees. In that same GQ interview, he spoke about having an unreleased guest verse that Hay-Z recorded for one of his tracks in 2019, and how it’ll likely never see the light of day because it could have compromised a deal Jay-Z made with the NFL.

You see, around the same time in 2019, Jay-Z inked a deal with the NFL which gave him a heavy hand in booking the Super Bowl Halftime Show and in the league’s social justice initiatives. Fat Joe seemed to indicate that Hov was rapping about the lead-up to the deal, or the deal itself and that once the deal was signed, the verse became a no-go.

“He was talking about the NFL stuff,” Fat Joe told GQ. “He had just signed that big deal with that NFL, so he wanted to let it go. He gave it to me… But I guess his people were like, ‘Yo bro, you just did a deal with them. How are you going to go in like that?’”

He then heaped praise on Jay-Z’shalftime show efforts. “They’ve been doing the biggest Super Bowl. That was legendary with Dre last year. And I know Rihanna’s going to be legendary this year. So, we don’t like to stop no money or burn no bridges.”

As to the whereabouts of the tape of Jay-Z’s verse where he apparently goes in on the NFL, Joe said he had it, but then walked that back. “I got a copy here. I don’t listen to it but I got it — Dre got it. Let me put it clear. Dre of Cool & Dre got it. I don’t have it.”

SZA’s ‘S.O.S.’ Tracklist Features Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, And Ol’ Dirty Bastard

It’s all happening, y’all: SZA’s sophomore album S.O.S. is right around the corner. The “Broken Clocks” singer revealed the release date during her Saturday Night Live performance this past weekend and S.O.S. is dropping this Friday, December 9th. It’s been a long-time coming since the brilliant Ctrl established SZA as a bona fide force back in 2017 and SZA has had her share of delays for the new album in the years since. Now that we’re finally, officially on the home stretch, SZA has now shared the S.O.S. tracklist and it has its share of surprises (Phoebe Bridgers!) and familiar faces.

For starters, both the previously released first single, “Shirt” and the SNL-debuted “Blind” are among the album’s 23 tracks. Yes, that’s right, 23 tracks! Travis Scott is set to appear on another collaboration with SZA on a track called “Open Arms.” There’s a posthumous appearance from Ol’ Dirty Bastard on the album-closing “Forgiveness,” Don Toliver will appear on “Used,” and then perhaps the most unexpected featured guest, Phoebe Bridgers, is on the album’s 12th track, “Ghost In The Machine.”

SZA also reached out to fans to ask which of two back cover designs they liked. The more minimal layout of the tracklist which better showcases a photo of SZA won out.

Hoodrich Pablo Juan Sentenced To 15 Years After Plea Deal In RICO Case

Hoodrich Pablo Juan is presently looking down the barrel of 15 years in prison.

The 33-year-old rapper was becoming well known – especially in his Atlanta, Georgia area – for his innovative beats and aggressive flows. With collaborations alongside Playboi Carti, Migos, Gucci Mane, and more, the up-and-coming rapper was finally beginning to break into the mainstream.

A prior 1017 Eskimo member, Juan was one of the most promising standouts of Gucci Mane’s lineup. However, like many other talented artists, legal issues frequently complicated his career.

The New Jersey-born musician was previously taken into custody back in 2020 on account of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations charges. As you may know, these are some of the most serious allegations one can receive.

The state of Georgia had been investigating over 40 suspects including him. The final indictment was massive, including 59 counts of violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, 24 counts of aggravated assault, and four counts of kidnapping.

Additionally, four counts of murder, 92 counts of RICO, three counts of trafficking methamphetamine, and three counts of trafficking heroin were a part of the same indictment.

Since then Pablo Juan has reportedly reached a plea deal. According to court documents, he was given a 15-year sentence. That said, due to his plea, his final time is now down to at least five years in prison. Afterward, he can serve the remaining 10 years on probation.

A couple of trials and a bit of jail time aren’t enough to kill HPJ’s passion for music. His most recent mixtape was aptly titled Free Hood which he dropped in late 2021.

Check out the whole project here and let us know what you think of the RICO charges in the comments. Does Pablo Juan deserve what he got? Or are you team #FREEHOOD?

Shania Twain Says She Had To “Flatten” Her Chest To Avoid Stepfather’s Abuse As A Teenager

Shania Twain opened up about the abuse she suffered as a teenager at the hands of her stepfather in a new interview with The Sunday Times. Speaking with the outlet, Twain explained that the trauma had a lasting effect on her body image.

Detailing the sexual and physical abuse her stepfather, Jerry Twain, subjected her to growing up, Shania explained that she would attempt to flatten her chest for safety.

“I hid myself and I would flatten my boobs,” the singer said. “I would wear bras that were too small for me, and I’d wear two, play it down until there was nothing girl about me. Make it easier to go unnoticed. Because, oh my gosh, it was terrible — you didn’t want to be a girl in my house.”

She continued: “Then you go into society and you’re a girl and you’re getting the normal other unpleasant stuff too, and that reinforces it. So then you think, ‘Oh, I guess it’s just s—ty to be a girl. Oh, it’s so s—ty to have boobs.’ I was ashamed of being a girl.”

All-in-all, the abuse had a lasting effect on her comfortability expressing her femininity as she became a global superstar.

“All of a sudden it was like, well, what’s your problem?” she explained. “You know, you’re a woman and you have this beautiful body? What was so natural for other people was so scary for me. I felt exploited, but I didn’t have a choice now. I had to play the glamorous singer, had to wear my femininity more openly or more freely. And work out how I’m not gonna get groped, or raped by someone’s eyes, you know, and feel so degraded.”

The interview with The Sunday Times comes a month after the 25th anniversary of her classic album, Come On Over.

50 Cent & G-Unit’s Reebok Collab Almost Outsold Jordan’s, Claims Reebok CEO

50 Cent and G-Unit were running the game back in the early 2000s. They were driving culture forward, and it had numerous brands wanting to work for them. Eventually, Fif signed a massive deal with Reebok which made him one of the faces of the brand.

Additionally, he got his very own G-Unit sneaker with the brand. These were huge back in the day, and every single G-Unit member was wearing them. This had numerous people buying into the hype, and it was impossible to escape these kicks.

50 Cent & Reebok Vs. Jordan Brand

During the early 2000s, Reebok wanted to defeat Jordan Brand in the marketplace. This was always going to be next to impossible, however, they tried. In an interview, with Complex, Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky revealed just how close the brand came to toppling Jordan’s empire.

“We were selling like, you know, 40-50,000 per color at a time. I remember that back-to-school, we sold on one color, like 75,000 pairs,” Krinsky said. “I’m not saying, by the way, that G-Unit was ever close to Jordan in any way. I’m saying that one moment in time, that one colorway, I think we sold in almost as many pairs as the Jordan launch for that period.” He added, “[50 Cent] was always saying how many Jordans sell this week. I’m telling you, he was literally asking that every week or every time we had a meeting.”

Even though they weren’t able to surpass Jordan Brand, it was a valiant effort. The G-Unit shoes will forever be remembered for their impact on culture, and you can never take that away from Reebok.

Akademiks Slams Ashanti For Not Naming Predatory Producer

Shortly after Ashanti revealed that a music producer asked her to shower with him in exchange for records he worked on for her, Akademiks entered the chat with his own opinion.

Saying that the singer is doing a disservice to other women by not name-dropping the unknown producer, the hip-hop commentator also brought up rapper Latto to validate his point.

“Here’s my problem with her saying this, I wish she revealed the name. It’s like when Latto said this…And then everybody thought it was Kodak.”

Prior to the release of her 777 album, Latto shared that a man she collaborated with refused to clear the record after she rejected his advances. Though some fans suspected Kodak Black, she never confirmed who the artist was.

“It’s like, yo Ashanti. You’ve been in the industry for 20 years now. Just say the name,” Akademiks fired at the New Yorker on his live stream. “Just say the f**king name. You know what I mean? Because I don’t think you do any service to any other woman who might work with this n***a later.”

“If some sh*t like that happened and you’re trying to speak about it on an interview for awareness, why not just say the n***a name?” the podcaster added.

As HotNewHipHop previously reported, the “Foolish” singer recently stated on The Breakfast Club that an unnamed music producer requested a shower or a date with her in exchange for a musical working relationship.

“We did two records together. He was like, ‘Okay, I’m not gonna charge you, you know you my homie.’” But when she was assembling her album content, he then switched up and asked her to shower with him.

“I thought he was joking,” she then shared.  “And then he was like, ‘Nah, I’m dead serious. Let’s go out, or let’s take a shower together, and I’ll give you the records. If not, I need 40 racks per record.’”

What are your thoughts on Ashanti’s account? Do you agree with Akademiks that she should drop the name of her past producer?

Dave East Drops Off New EastMix “Gangstarr”

Dave East is keeping his foot on the gas, even as the end of fhe year approaches. The Harlem rapper is fresh off of the release of Book Of David with Buda and DJ Drama but he’s keeping things pushing with a brand new EastMix.

The latest entry in the fan-favorite series finds Dave East paying homage to DJ Premier and Guru. East takes on Gang Starr’s 1998 record “Royalty” and brings the listener on a trip through New York. The Harlem rapper recalls his upbringing before reflecting on his rise from the bottom.

The rapper shared an accompanying video for the song. Directed by Director Donjai, East slides through New York City’s subway system, lighting spliffs, drinking and hanging out with his people.

It’s been a rather productive year for Dave East in both music and movie. Along with the release of Book Of David, he dropped off HDIGH in March, as well as a deluxe edition. However, in an interview with Vibe in February, he did hint at plans to drop off his official follow-up to his 2019 debut, Survival. Additionally, he revealed that he’s working with Styles P on a sequel to 2018’s Beloved. Though it seems unlikely that either projects will drop before the end of 2022, it looks like East has a lot in store for the new year.

Check out the latest offering from Harlem’s own Dave East below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts on his new freestyle over GangStarr’s “Royalty.” Did he do justice to the song?

Drake’s All-Gold OVO x Air Jordan 8 Sample Surfaces Online

Drake is someone who is known for having an impressive and extensive sneaker closet. Over the years, Drake has even partnered with the likes of Nike. Additionally, he has made shoes with Jordan Brand. For instance, the Air Jordan 8, 10, and 12 are all silhouettes that he has worked on.

Of course, Drake had some special sneakers made for himself, that never hit the market. Although these shoes are highly sought after, they are for Drake only. This is disappointing for a lot of sneakerheads, however, it keeps an air of mystique around the kicks.

Drake OVO x Air Jordan 8

As we previously mentioned, Drake has his very own version of the Air Jordan 8. These OVO models took black and white bases and merged them with gold aesthetics. The legendary artist has always displayed opulence in his shoes, and that was no different here.

Now, however, it appears as though a special sample has surfaced online. Thanks to the Instagram account @EnglishSole, we now have a look at these all-gold Air Jordan 8s. Simply put, they are spectacular. The shoe begins with an all-gold upper, with very little room to breathe. There is some white on the midsole and inner lining, however, gold reigns supreme here.

Overall, these are incredibly gorgeous. If you are a sneakerhead who loves Jordans and Drake, then these are going to impress you. Unfortunately, you are never going to actually be able to buy them. They are simply too rare, and not for sale. You could always ask the artist for a pair, however, he’ll probably say no.

Let us know what you think of these, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the sneaker world.

Tory Lanez & Prince From “Love & Hip-Hop” Settle Alleged Assault Cases

Tory Lanez and Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star Prince are reaching a settlement over a number of past assault allegations, reports reveal.

The rapper’s new attorney, Kadisha Phelps has specifically shared that the Brampton native agreed to the financial deal. This comes as part of the lawyer’s plea to further remove the trial date completely.

Phelps says she has “information to believe that a settlement has already been reached between the parties and [Lanez] has tendered funds to [Prince] in consummation of their agreement.”

The alleged assaults stem from two separate incidents between the reality star and rapper at two different Miami nightclubs.

The first allegedly took place in November of 2019 at LIV Nightclub. Prince says that Lanez swung his fists and punched him in the face after a verbal confrontation.

The 32-year-old also alleges that the “Say It” singer’s security assaulted him. Ultimately, this caused blunt-force trauma to his back, neck and chest.

The second incident took place when the two got into it at Vendome Nightclub in Miami a year later. Prince claims that the R&B vocalist later let his anger get the best of him again, punching the Love & Hip-Hop star in the face.

A trial date of December 5 was previously set, but Phelps believes it’s no longer necessary. Her client has been busy putting together a defense for the criminal trial involving his alleged shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. That trial will begin next week, on December 12.

Lanez is also allegedly responsible for an assault on fellow artist August Alsina that took place in September. The D.A. is currently looking into this case.

After his last lawyer dropped him for “irreconcilable differences” earlier this year, Phelps began representing the Canadian rapper. She has put in a request for that trial date to move four months.

The 30-year-old is arguing that his actions were self-defense.

Read more about the latest updates in Tory Lanez’s ongoing legal battles and stay tuned for updates.
