A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & Vory Connect On “No 808s”

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is only a few months removed from his last body of work, Me  Vs. Myself. The highly-anticipated project arrived towards the end fo 2022 following a bit of a delay. Though he announced the project months before its release, the initial October release date was pushed back. Boogie explained that he didn’t want to compete with Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss, which undoubtedly had a grip on the final weeks of 2022.

However, Me Vs. Myself continues to ring off. The rapper’s project boasts appearances from Roddy Ricch, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, G Herbo, and others, as well as singles like “Ballin.” He later shared the deluxe edition which boasted “Needed That” with the late PNB Rock. Even with the release of a 23-song project, A Boogie still has more heat in the stash. Of course, with it being Valentine’s Day, he’s back with a timely record in collaboration with Vory.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie – “No 808s” Ft. Vory

It’s that time of year when Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreaks truly feels fitting, and it appears the groundbreaking album left Boogie with some inspiration. This week, the rapper unveiled his latest single, “No 808s” ft. Vory, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Tyler James, Chuck Taylor, and JoeFromYo hold down the moody production as A Boogie and Vory’s melodic talents deliver an emotionally potent banger.

Beyond the title itself, the effects of Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreaks seep through the record. While it’s hard to deny that the project opened the gates for an artist like A Boogie’s mellifluous delivery, the spacey, minimalist production feels like it was taken out of a page from Ye’s book. Still, A Boogie and Vory turn the production into something of their own and create a memorable anthem for this Valentine’s Day. Peep A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s new collab with Vory above.

Quotable Lyrics
Runnin’ out of things to say whenever the calls collective
Ooh, what a mood, she pull up with no bra under
I buy her Jimmy Choo, she do that shit without her effort

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Adds An Ode To The Late PnB Rock To The Deluxe Edition Of ‘Me Vs. Myself’

Although A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie‘s new album, My Vs. Myself, was only released this past Friday (December 9), he’s already followed up with a deluxe edition. However, whereas many artists’ deluxe albums lately have featured full playlists worth of material, A Boogie only added one new song to the tracklist: “Needed That,” an ode to his late friend PnB Rock.

The fact that “Needed That” is the only new song is a testament to how close it and PnB Rock both are to A Boogie’s heart. PnB Rock appears on the song as well, trading verses about heartbreak with A Boogie over a moody, piano-driven beat. A Boogie and PnB Rock previously collaborated on “Beast Mode” and “IDK” in 2017; the two East Coast rappers were formerly labelmates on Atlantic Records. PnB Rock died earlier this year when he was shot during a robbery at a restaurant in Los Angeles.

Me Vs. Myself is the follow-up to A Boogie’s 2020 album Artist 2.0, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. A Boogie is set to go on tour to promote the album, which was led by the single “B.R.O.” featuring Roddy Ricch, next spring. He’s also planning a “one night only” show at New York’s Apollo Theater later this week.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s ‘Me Vs. Myself’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date, Tracklist, And More

The wait is nearly over for fans of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. After postponing his fourth studio album, the Bronx rapper took to social media to confirm Me Vs. Myself will drop this Friday. With a total of 19 songs, the album marks Boogie’s first full-length release in two years.

New York’s music scene has undergone major changes since Boogie first made his mark. However, based on the reception singles “B.R.O. (Better Ride Out)” featuring Roddy Ricch and “Playa” featuring H.E.R. have received, Boogie’s signature melodic sound is still a hit amongst hip hop fans. Boogie’s signature sound isn’t the only thing he’s remained true to. The album’s cover image follows in the same thread of animated artwork splashed across his entire discography.

Other popular acts making an appearance on the album include Lil Durk and Tory Lanez.

In addition to making his musical comeback, the rapper will return to the stage. Next Friday, December 16, Boogie will play to a sold-out crowd at The Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. While his supporting 15-city tour will kick off in Denver next February, ending with three shows in the United Kingdom.
