Drake Links Up With Black Coffee In Ibiza To Jam Out To “Honestly, Nevermind”

When the full production credits for Drake’s seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, were shared upon its release, many fans were delighted to see that Black Coffee served as one of the record’s executive producers.

As previously reported, the Grammy-winning South African DJ and producer previously worked with Drake back in 2017 for the More Life standout track “Get It Together,” and most recently, Black Coffee contributed to the production for three Honestly, Nevermind songs, including “Texts Go Green,” “Currents,” and “Overdrive.” Roughly one month after the album’s release, Black Coffee showed some major love to his Canadian collaborator during his recent DJ set in Ibiza, and it turns out that Drizzy was actually in attendance and able to take it all in.

According to HipHopDX, Drake pulled up to Black Coffee’s set at the Hï Ibiza nightclub on Saturday (July 16) night, and after watching from the crowd for a bit, the OVO head honcho hit the stage to celebrate the moment alongside the Subconsciously artist.

At first, the crowd was barely moving at all due to the sheer shock of seeing Drake in the building, but after the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper moved to the stage, the vibe appeared to return to normal as the crowd started dancing along as Black Coffee played “Massive.”

MoneyBagg Yo Brings NYT Reporter To Walker Homes In Memphis: Watch

Before he was the rap sensation that we know and love him as today, MoneyBagg Yo was a young man in the Walker Holmes neighbourhood of South Memphis, Tennessee with a dream. The 30-year-old began issuing mixtapes like From Da Block 2 Da Booth and October 20th as early as 2012, and now, he looks to be taking the New York Times back to where it all began.

Over the weekend, Big Bagg shared a video on his Instagram Story with reporter Jon Caramanica revealing that he brought the famed publication to his hometown, where plenty of patrons could be seen hanging out by them, grabbing snacks and smoking outside a building.

New York Times in the hood,” the rapper told the camera, panning up from the journalist to show off more of Memphis. “We got New York Times in the hood,” he added again.

In another clip, Bagg tagged @officialrapsnacks as a store employee was filmed loading up some plastic bags with a variety of goodies. “Let Me Get All Dem,” he captioned it.

Without much context, it seems as though the CMG artist is working on some pretty big collaborations that he’s only just beginning to tease to his 8.3M followers.

In other news, MoneyBagg Yo was sure to go all out for his girlfriend Ari Fletcher’s 27th birthday last week, chartering a private jet (custom branded as Ari Air, of course) and loading her up with plenty of beautiful flowers and expensive jewelry – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.

Just months after Chicago rap mainstay King Lil Jay was released from prison after being convicted of murder years prior. Now, according to a report from SayCheeseTV, King Lil Jay is back in jail on firearm charges.

Lil Jay, whose real name is Mario Austin, was arrested in 2015, held on a $400K bond and charged with irresponsible firearm discharge. For that charge he was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2019.

Austin was previously on parole, which means that he will remain behind bars until his bond hearing.

Gunna Grins Through A Video Call With His Godson From Jail Despite Being Denied Bail

It looks like Gunna‘s incarceration isn’t keeping him down too much; a video on social media revealed that he was able to grin through a video call with his family recently, despite being denied bond again in the ongoing racketeering case against him and other members of YSL. The short clip focuses on his reaction to a baby that some outlets identify as his godson, who chuckles when Gunna calls him “real playa.”

Gunna was indicted in May as one of 28 members of YSL (Young Slime Life), which the Fulton County D.A. called a “hybrid street gang” thanks to its alleged association with YSL (Young Stoner Life) Records. The group’s members were charged with a litany of offenses including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and more. Gunna, who was specifically charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, surrendered a few days later.

Gunna’s trial date was set for January 9, 2023, but he and Young Thug were both denied bond in May, while Gunna was more recently denied bond again earlier this month. In spite of it all, he called 2022 “one of the best years of my life” in an open letter from jail, perhaps owing to the success of his song “Pushin P” and album DS4EVER.

Gunna is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
