Ja Morant was on one Monday night. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar dunked all over Jakob Poltl for two of his game-high 52 points. If that wasn’t enough, he pulled up from the logo like he was Lillard and somehow caught a full-court inbounds pass and shot it without touching the floor.

For the night, Morant dropped 52, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists on a very efficient 22-30 shooting. “I’m thankful for my teammates, my coaches. They believe in me and have all the confidence in the world that I’ll make the right plays,” Morant said after the buzzer.

Now the Grizzlies are closing in on the Warriors for No. 2 in the West. You can see Morant’s highlight reel below.

The mayor’s comments came a day after he released a statement saying the city is looking at March 7th to lift vaccination requirements for indoor dining, fitness centers and entertainment venues.

“I can’t wait to get it done,” Adams said. “I take my hat off to New Yorkers — through masks, vaccines, through social distancing, we were hit with the uncertainty, the fear of COVID. I’m really proud of how we responded as New Yorkers. And every morning I meet with my health professionals. Because I always stated I’m going to follow the science. I’m not going to get ahead of the science, because I’m ready to get ahead of all of this and get back to a level of normalcy.”

“But they’re giving us clear instructions, they’ve given us benchmarks, we’re going to follow those benchmarks. But I look forward in the next few weeks of going through a real transformation — that I don’t have to wonder what you look like … We’re going to get the city back up and operating. And we’re going to be rolling out some things in the next day or so on how we’re going to carry that out.”

Converse’s latest collaboration with Golf Wang sees the Chuck 70 “shedding its skin.”

Tyler, the Creator’s Golf Wang Chuck 70 Python replaces the silhouette’s distinctive canvas with snakeskin leather. Tyler is reinventing a Chuck 70 Low for the first time in his latest rendition of Converse’s classic shoe. Tyler’s courage to explore newness and innovation is personified by his investigation of a new silhouette and the ensuing, distinct flare that could only come from Tyler, the Creator, as the Converse and Golf Wang connection unfolds.

Tyler uses his penchant for exotic designs and patterns to bring a resurrected vision of the Chuck 70 Low to life with the Golf Wang Chuck 70 Python. The Chuck’s usual white foxing and outsole are replaced with a transparent version, which is adorned with luxury flourishes. The shoe also has an embossed snakeskin print and a cobranded sockliner, resulting in an elevated sneaker that continues Converse x Golf Wang’s irreverent tradition.

The Python’s two hues – a brilliant pink and blue – pop thanks to the distinct tonal design, allowing for an embodiment of Tyler’s aggressiveness.

Converse x Golf Wang Chuck 70 Python will be available on Converse.com and Golf Wang starting March 4th.

Playboi Carti Shows Off Dramatic New Look

Playboi Carti has seemingly completed his transformation into a full-blown goth satanist, revealing his latest look on social media this week.

The 25-year-old Atlanta-raised artist has been making noise for years, revitalizing the game with his latest studio album, Whole Lotta Red. With his fans amped up about the possibility of receiving another new full-length project this year, the rapper has started his output with a feature on Ye’s Donda 2 album, which is exclusively available on Stem Player. Appearing during Ye’s sold-out event in Miami last week, Carti wore a face full of make-up and let out passionate screams throughout the performance. His multicolor arm accessories helped him stand out from the rest of the crowd, who wore all-black, and it looks like Carti is sticking with this look for the next little while.

Wiping his entire Instagram feed, Carti kicked off this new era five days ago by sharing a close-up picture of himself wearing dramatic face paint at his show with Ye. On Monday (February 28), the rapper fired off another look, wearing dark makeup around his eyes, on his nose, and over his mouth. He paired his style with a shaggy black jacket, vinyl gloves, baggy jeans, and black boots.

While some music fans are clowning Carti’s new look, others are praising him for pushing back against gender norms. This follows a long line of rappers experimenting with makeup and face paint, including NBA YoungBoy, who recently started wearing makeup a few months ago.

What do you think about Playboi Carti’s new era? Let us know in the comments.

Estée Lauder Executive Fired After Sharing Racist Chingy COVID-19 Meme On Instagram

chingy

You would think someone would think twice before posting something on social media that could get them into trouble.

Estée Lauder, senior executive John Demsey, was fired from his position on Monday, February 28, after posting a racist COVID-19 meme mentioning Chingy on his Instagram.

“My n***a Snuffy done got the’ rona at a Chingy concert,” read the meme which featured a masked Big Bird and sick Snuffy.

After being fired, Demsey posted an apology where he claimed he did not read the meme before posting it.

Estée Lauder has since released a statement about Demsey’s firing, saying the meme does not “reflect the values of The Estée Lauder Companies.”

“This decision is the result of his recent Instagram posts, which do not reflect the values of The Estée Lauder Companies, have caused widespread offense, are damaging to our efforts to drive inclusivity both inside and outside our walls, and do not reflect the judgment we expect of our leaders,” the statement said. “Our employees, and especially our senior leaders, are accountable to continue driving our progress and to respect the values of this company for the long term.”

Social media had a field day with the news story. While nobody seemed mad at Demsey posting the meme, many made jokes about Chingy trending and the sheer stupidity of losing a nearly $10 million a year job over a Chingy meme.
