Killer Mike And Offset Pay Homage To Late Dungeon Family Producer Rico Wade With Their ‘Exit 9’ Remix

Killer Mike pays homage to his late friend and fellow Dungeon Family member Rico Wade with a remix of his Michael standout “Exit 9,” now featuring Offset in addition to Blxst.

While much of the song remains unchanged, Mike reworks a line in his first verse to salute the fallen producer, rapping, “It hurts like hell to say but rest in peace to Rico Wade / He soundtracked the day when me and Slee were serving J.”

Offset also taps into his own recent loss, channeling grief for late Migos bandmate Takeoff along with other family members gone too soon: “Oh, my brother, look in the air, I see an angel done fly,” he intones. “15 years, brother gone, every day momma cry / Grandma died, I wish I could go back and get time.”

Wade was reported dead at the age of 52 earlier this month, with the New York Times printing a statement from the producer’s family. “We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of our son, father, husband, and brother Rico Wade. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a talented individual who touched the lives of so many.”

He touched those lives in large part due to his role as the focal point of the Dungeon Family, the Atlanta-based collective that included such pioneering acts as Mike, Future, Goodie Mob, and Outkast. The group’s name was taken from its recording headquarters in Wade’s mother’s basement, where the crew coalesced around a love of hip-hop and soulful, out-of-this-world beats created by Wade’s production trio, Organized Noize.

Just a couple weeks after dropping the video for his unabashed Atlanta anthem “EXIT 9 (feat. Blxst)”, Killer Mike has shared a new version of the track with yet another esteemed ATLien, Offset. The track was premiered by Killer Mike on HOT 107.9 in Atlanta on Thursday, ahead of today’s streaming release. “Exit 9 in Atlanta is the Adamsville Martin Luther King Jr Blvd so when we started talking about doing a remix I knew I wanted to keep it on some Atlanta shit,” states Mike. “Offset and I have been running into each over the years showing one another love and respect & talking about working on something. Finally the time was right and the Nawf’West Remix was Born!” The song’s unabashed tribute to the city was brought into crystalline focus in the music video, which depicts Blxst and Mike breaking bread with the mayor and making the rounds to notable ATL landmarks from the Cascade roller rink to the Blue Flame

Killer Mike & Blxst Recruit Offset For Extended Version Of “MICHAEL” Cut “EXIT 9”

Killer Mike really put on for the city of Atlanta and the rap genre at the 2024 GRAMMYs. Somewhat controversially, his sophomore solo LP MICHAEL took home three categories at the iconic award show earlier this year. It won over massive mainstream records UTOPIA, HEROES & VILLAINS, Her Loss, and King’s Disease III. One of the consistent arguments against him winning came from fans who are not hip to the rap legend saying things like, “Who is Killer Mike?” But he definitely deserved all the success and now, Killer Mike is taking another victory lap by adding Offset to “EXIT 9.”

Track 10 on the original version of the album, “EXIT 9” only featured California singer Blxst. Additionally, the song was just over two minutes and 40 seconds. But with Offset entering the mix, the record now clocks in at 3:30. As most know, adding another artist to an already great track can achieve mixed results.

But to the former Migos member’s credit, he seamlessly slides into what Mike and Blxst were doing on the reflective song about making it from the bottom. Offset rocks a monotone and lowkey flow as he talks about Takeoff, his late grandmother, and working hard for his respect in the game. All in all, this one of the stronger bonus cuts from MICHAEL. Be sure to check out the new version of “EXIT 9” with the link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “EXIT 9” by Killer Mike, Offset, and Blxst? Which version of this track do you prefer more now and why? Is this the best song from MICHAEL, why or why not? Is this one of Offset’s stronger performances of 2024? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Streets start huggin’ me, not lovin’ me, but it wasn’t on my mind (No-no-no, but it wasn’t on my mind)

I had did this for my gang, I don’t see nothin’, go blind (Gang)

How Many Kids Does Offset Have?

Offset may be one of the biggest rappers in the music industry but beyond that, he’s a dedicated dad to his five awesome kids. Although he and Cardi B are currently separated, it’s evident that keeping a tight family is very important to the ex-Migos member. Despite the success of his latest album Set it Off keeping him busy and on the road, it’s refreshing to see that being a present father is still a top priority to him. Here’s some info on hip-hop’s hottest siblings.

Jordan, 14

Offset’s oldest son Jordan Cephus, 15, was born on Dec. 21, 2009, from a previous relationship the rapper had with Justine Watson. Offset has addressed his son Jordan in some of his music, apologizing for not being the best father and not always being there for him in the past. However, he’s making up for the time lost, providing his firstborn plenty of love and quality time. The teen is a talented beatmaker and has joined in on numerous photoshoots with his siblings, usually in matching outfits. Hanging with the Cephus squad now seems to be a huge part of Jordan’s life.

Kalea Marie Cephus, 9

Offset shares an older daughter Kalea Marie with rapper Shya L’amour. Kalea was born on March 23, 2015. Though his relationship with his daughter was strained at first, it has since improved, and L’amour has admitted that Cardi B was a big help in doing so. The young lady has naturally grown very close to her half-sister Kulture. The two kids have posed with Cardi in numerous shoots, usually wearing coordinating hairstyles and gorgeous gowns.

Kody Cephus, 9

Kody Cephus was born on March 2, 2015, to Offset and his ex Oriel Jamie. He has expressed an interest in music like his famous father. In 2021, at 6 years old, he debuted a song called “Lamb Truck” in a video posted on Offset’s Instagram. The young heir danced and sang along to his track with his sister Kalea. He has also taken a liking to football, participating in little league.

Kulture Kiari, 5

Kulture Kiari Cephus was born on July 10, 2018. At 6 years old, Kulture has taken after her parents’ trendsetting ways. The toddler, who has over 2 million Instagram followers is constantly posing for photoshoots and selfies with mom Cardi B in matching outfits, expensive jewelry and mini Birkin bags. In one trending post, Offset gifted his youngest baby girl with $50,000 in cash for her 4th birthday.

Wave Set, 3

Cardi B and Offset’s youngest son Wave Set Cephus was born Sept. 4, 2021. His middle name derives from his father’s stage name, Offset, of course. It’s quite evident that Offset and Cardi’s youngest has an uncanny resemblance to his sister Kulture. You can catch this little kid any day on Instagram rocking the latest kicks with an iced-out chain, and maybe even a fur jacket. Wave doesn’t quite have an active Instagram account, but he does have numerous fan pages that post adorable pics and fashion reviews.

How Many Kids Does Cardi B Have?

Cardi B officially announced her split with Migos rapper Offset back in December. Even though they ended their marriage, they continue co-parenting a pair of young children, born in 2018 and 2021 respectively. While the children aren’t exactly old enough to be making their own waves in the world of pop culture, the former Hollywood power couple have not shied away from sharing their kids with the world. Both Cardi B and Offset’s shared kids have even appeared in the 2023 music video for Cardi’s song “Jealousy,” which also prominently featured Offset’s three elder children from previous relationships. Let’s dive into the identities of Cardi B’s two kids and see what the public knows about them.

Kulture Kiari Cephus

Kulture is Cardi B’s very first child. She was born in Atlanta in July of 2018 and has been a mainstay on both Cardi and Offset’s Instagram pages ever since. Kulture’s first name is a play on the famous Culture album trilogy by the Migos, as well as Cardi B and Offset’s continued inclusion in the culture of hip hop. Her middle name, Kiari, is the first name of Cardi B’s father, proving that the “I Like It” femcee has a penchant for being sentimental with her kids.

As a member of Cardi B’s famous family, Kulture has appeared at numerous red-carpet events and Hollywood premieres, including the May 2023 opening of The Little Mermaid. She also graces the cover of Offset’s aptly titled solo album Father of 4. As of Summer 2023, Kulture is a pre-kindergarten graduate and has stated that she intends to be a doctor when she grows up. Of course, her career path will be subject to change dozens of times before she reaches adulthood.

Wave Set Cephus

Continuing the sentimental naming tradition, Cardi B named her second child Wave Set Cephus. The middle name is a clear reference to his father, Offset. At the same time, “Wave” is a common hip-hop term signifying a prolific moment in time, good fortune, and success or a trend that revolutionizes everything. Wave was born in September of 2021 and is Cardi B’s only biological son as of this writing. Cardi B and Offset first announced their second pregnancy during the 2021 BET Awards, though they didn’t publicize their son’s image until he was at least seven months of age.

Obviously, not much is known about the young boy at this time, as he is only two and a half years old. If we were to guess, we’d say he’s currently really into sugary treats, stumbling his way through the room to a chorus of “aww’s” and mischievously opening and shutting cabinets.

Cardi B Is Also A Stepmom To 3

Despite Cardi B and Offset’s breakup, Cardi has a loving and long-lasting relationship with his three kids from previous relationships. Jordan was born in 2009 to Offset’s ex, Justine Watson, while Kody and Kalea were both born in 2015 to Oriel Jamie and Shya L’amour, respectively. Offset has rapped about each of his kids and his journey of fatherhood many times, even referencing Kalea by name on the track “Father of 4.”

Offset Certainly Didn’t Seem To Have Beef With Quavo As He Shared A Message For His Fellow Migos Member

A couple days ago, on April 2, Quavo celebrated his 33rd birthday. There have been rumors that he’s currently beefing with fellow Migos member Offset, but Offset appeared to put that to rest.

In a birthday message shared on his Instagram Story (as HipHopDX notes), Offset wrote, “Happy gday my brother @quavohuncho love you 4L,” with “4L” meaning “for life.”

At the Grammys in February 2023, it was rumored that the two got into a fight backstage, but Offset later denied it, tweeting, “What the f*ck look like fighting my brother y’all n****s is crazy.” Not long after that, on his song “Greatness,” Quavo addressed the future of Migos, rapping, “Came in, swept the game like a storm with the motherf*cking flow, n****, Take did that / So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n**** it can’t come back, damn!” Then, days later, Offset and Quavo were at the same NBA game but seated separately.

So, while it’s possible there was tension, it appears that as it stands now, there’s still love at the core of the relationship.

Meanwhile, Quavo recently popped up during Post Malone’s Rolling Loud California set to perform “Congratulations.” As for Offset, he recently launched his Set It Off Tour.

Offset Brings Out Chloe Bailey At LA Show, Sparks Rumors

If you’ve ever been to an Offset show, you know it’s about to be lit.

On Friday, March 29th, the Migos rapper took the stage at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles during his Set It Off Tour, which was announced in January. This tour supported his most recent solo album, Set It Off, released in October of last year. The project featured standout appearances from Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, Cardi B, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy, and Chlöe.

Of course, when you’re in the city of Angels, you know the special guest appearances are about to be stacked. First up was Chicago rapper Polo G, before bringing out Ty Dolla $ign, Rich The Kid, Lil Tecca, and Gunna. Offset and Gunna performed their standout collaboration on “Prada Dem,” who’s official music video has hit over four million views in just two weeks.

The highlight of the evening arrived as Chloe Bailey took the stage, performing their song “Princess Cut.” As always, Chloe slayed in all black with her diamonds shining bright. However, this specific moment has generated a lot of chatter among fans, as Chloe is seen getting up close and personal with Offset. As you can see in the video, she touches his leg and proceeds to park herself right next to him, at one point asking him to sing (hilarious).

Of course, we all know she and Gunna are an item, so it doesn’t seem the romance rumors hold any weight. The two were seen hand in hand after the show.

Looks like we’ll have to sit tight and see what happens!

The staple hip-hop festival will be held on June 2 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. This year’s official headliners include Doja Cat, Offset, Sexyy Red, and Davido. When asked about the possibility of bringing out special guests, he played coy. “I might do my Summer Jam set with just me,” he said. “‘Cause I deserve that.”

But he did reveal that his set will include several elements from his debut solo headline tour’s production and possibly even a moon walk tribute to the late Michael Jackson.
