Summer Walker Teases Her New Album With The Help Of Ex Lil Meech

Summer Walker has been one of the steadiest voices in R&B for the last five years. She has dropped multiple stellar projects since her 2018 debut, and her latest, Finally Over It, appears to be the third in a series that started with Over It. It can be tough to find clever ways to market new singles and generate buzz, especially for a veteran artist, but Summer Walker found a way. The singer posted a mock video with a voicemail from her ex, Lil Meech. The rapper recreated an infamous social media exchange from 2023, and it worked like a charm.

Some context for the aforementioned exchange. Summer Walker and Lil Meech split up in 2023 after it was alleged that the latter was unfaithful. Ring footage of Lil Meech walking into a woman’s apartment went viral, and the rapper tried to play it off via social media. “Damn,” he wrote. “I can’t help my cousin bring the bags in the house? We went to the grocery store, man.” The explanation was clowned by the fans, who noted that nobody on the Ring camera appeared to be carrying anything. The voicemail that Meech leaves in the Summer Walker promo is a direct reference to the groceries comment. “You gon do me like that,” he asks over the phone. “I was just helping my cousin with the groceries.”

Summer Walker And Lil Meech Remain On Good Terms

Summer Walker and Lil Meech may have split, but the two artists have seemingly kept a good sense of humor about each other since. In December 2023, Meech announced that his first child was on the way. Summer Walker left a hilarious response in the Neighborhood Talk comment section reading: “different cousin.” Lil Meech has reciprocated the positive energy in interviews. During a sit down chat with The Morning Hustle, the rapper assured fans that he still has love for Summer Walker.

“Me and Summer,” he asserted. “We still have love for each other but we both went our separate ways.” The rapper also complimented Walker’s music and the quality of her character. “We can stay cool and be good,” Meech added. “We don’t go no problems with each other. She’s an amazing singer. She’s a good person so we good.” Walker’s new album doesn’t have a release date yet, but the lead single, “Heart of a Woman,” is currently available to pre-save.

Drake’s Daughter Allegations Seemingly Debunked By Leaked DMs

Drake vs Kendrick Lamar will go down as the rap story of 2024. They are two of the biggest stars the genre has ever seen, and they dropped some scathing disses. None were more scathing that Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams,” however. Over a menacing Alchemist beat, the Compton spitter claimed that his opponent was hiding a second child from the world. A daughter, to be exact, and the internet seemed to track down the alleged daughter in question. Nobody had proof, but Drake had also been caught hiding a child from the public before. Was it true?

Well, according to DM screenshots, the answer is seemingly no. DJ Akademiks posted a screenshot that dates back to July 15, 2018. The DM appears to be sent to Drake from the woman that Lamar’s camp has suggested is the mother of his daughter. The alleged daughter is even mentioned by name. “My baby Eternity is five and she really adores you,” the woman wrote. “Eternity and I have tixs to your your [sic] Los Angeles show and she really just wants to meet you. I will pay anything to make this happen for my five year old please.”

Drake’s 2018 DM Was Posted By DJ Akademiks

DJ Akademiks neatly summarized the takeaways from this alleged screenshot in his caption. He told followers that there is no way Drake is the father of this woman’s daughter if they had never met prior to 2018. Furthermore, the DM exchange implies that Drake and the woman in question do not know each other at all. “Apparently the woman as of early as 2018 was hitting up Drake to meet him,” Ak explained. “Which makes it impossible he fathered her child.” The hip hop personality also made sure to highlight the fact that Kendrick Lamar and his camp said otherwise.

The legitimacy of Lamar’s claim on “Meet the Grahams” has been a talking point since it dropped. Elliott Wilson of Rap Radar released a version of the song with the verse about the alleged daughter removed. He felt it damaged an otherwise great song, which led to social media tension between Wilson and the TDE camp. DJ Hed, another Lamar affiliate, has gone on record to claim that everything said on “Meet the Grahams” is true. lf. “I mean, he told me everything was facts,” Hed said during his appearance on the Effective Immediately podcast. Somebody’s lying, and this alleged screenshot doesn’t help K. Dot’s case.

Dr. Dre’s Former Counselor Files Restraining Order Against Him

Dr. Dre is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Dr. Charles Sophy. The latter served as Dre’s divorce counselor when the legendary producer was splitting from his wife. The divorce was finalized years ago, but Dr. Sophy has come forth with a number of harrowing allegations against Dre. He alleges that he was subjected to threats via text message, and that Dre used “homophobic rhetoric” against him. Due to these claims, Dr. Sophy filed a restraining order against him.

TMZ confirmed the order on October 11. Dr. Sophy filed a temporary restraining order against Dr. Dre on the basis of the allegations made against him. For the time being, the producer can not get within a 100 yard distance of Dr. Sophy or his son. The divorce counselor also requested that Dre stop reaching out to him, whether it be via text, phone call, or email. These requests make sense, given the allegations that he has leveled at Dre. Sophy alleged that Dr. Dre reached out to him years after the aforementioned split was finalized, and began taunting him on a regular basis.

Dr. Sophy is seeking $10 million in damages. It’s worth noting, however, that Dr. Dre has responded to the counselor’s allegations. He accused Dr. Sophy of malicious intent in his handling of the divorce, and for malpractice, as he went from being Dre’s divorce counselor to primary therapist. Furthermore, the legendary producer claimed that Sophy drove a wedge between him and his son. In a statement sent to TMZ, Dr. Dre alleged that Sophy tried to manipulate his son into spreading “false allegations” about the domestic abuse allegations leveled at him by his ex-wife.

Dr. Sophy may have filed a lawsuit, but Dr. Dre has filed a complaint with the Osteopathic Medical Board of California. The latter wants to see Sophy’s medical license get revoked. The counselor maintains that he was the victim of civil harassment and threat of violence based on sexual orientation. He also wants a trial, according to Rolling Stone. The artist, in the meantime, is gearing up for the release of Missionary, his long-anticipated collab album with Snoop Dogg. The legal battle is obviously ongoing, and is set to take some important turns over the next few months.

Obama Let’s Trump Have During Emotional Campaign Speech in Pittsburgh

IMG 7684

Former President Barack Obama took the stage in Pittsburgh on Thursday to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in the upcoming 2024 election. This marked Obama’s first campaign event for Harris since President Joe Biden endorsed her after withdrawing from the race in July.

Expressing strong backing for Harris, Obama stated, “Kamala would make an excellent president,” and pledged that he and Michelle Obama would “do everything we can to make sure she wins in November.”

The rally took place in Pittsburgh, a key city in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, where polls indicate a tight race between Harris and former President Donald Trump. A recent Quinnipiac poll showed Harris leading by three points, but within the margin of error. Political analyst Craig Agranoff described the event as one focused on “momentum,” emphasizing Obama’s role in energizing younger voters who see him as a figure of “hope and change.” Agranoff noted that Obama’s ability to increase voter turnout in crucial states like Pennsylvania could be pivotal in the election.

Throughout the rally, Obama drew sharp contrasts between Harris and Trump, aiming to motivate swing-state voters. He praised the efforts of first responders and FEMA workers dealing with recent natural disasters, before underscoring the importance of “honest and competent leadership” during crises. He urged voters to support Harris and other Democratic candidates in Pennsylvania, including Governor Josh Shapiro and U.S. Senator Bob Casey, stating, “It’s times like this when you realize that having honest, competent leadership in government really matters.”

Obama also highlighted the significance of a strong Senate to support Harris’s presidency, singling out Senator Bob Casey as an example of integrity and public service, adding, “That’s the kind of person we need to send back to Washington.”

The rally underscored Obama’s commitment to ensuring Harris’s success and emphasized the critical importance of Pennsylvania as a swing state in the 2024 election.
