Michael Jackson Biopic From Antoine Fuqua Has Found His Joe Jackson With Oscar Nominated Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo will star as Joe Jackson in the forthcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael.

Colman Domingo is buzzing in Hollywood after being nominated for the highest award as an actor for his Oscar-worthy performance in the civil rights drama Rustin. Now he’s setting his sights on another big role-playing the controversial patriarch Joe Jackson in the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic.

The Antoine Fuqua-directed feature jump-starts production this week. Domingo has been turning heads as of late and joins Jaafar, Michael Jackson’s nephew, who will play his late uncle on the big screen. Juliano Krue Valdi will play a younger MJ. Domingo is the newest major cast announcement but easily the biggest name thus far.

Here’s the official description from Lionsgate:

Michael will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop. The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances. As never before, audiences will experience an inside look into one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.

The film is being produced by Graham King (Bohemian Rhapsody), alongside John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate. Expect Michael to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.

King said “I’m so honored to tell Michael’s story. It’s been a long journey and I’m excited for the film to show audiences around the world a perspective of Michael that they’ve never seen,”

“Michael Jackson was inarguably one of the greatest entertainers of all time,” was the quote from Adam Fogelson, Chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “His impact on music, video, art, fashion, culture – and so much more – was extraordinary and is still profoundly relevant. I can’t wait for audiences to be able to see this film in theaters worldwide next year.”

Halle Berry Film ‘The Mothership’ Scrapped at Netflix Due to Delays With Post-Production

Halle Berry Thinks Her Monthly $16K Child Support Payments is 'Extortion'

The Mothership has been taken off the release schedule at Netflix. The Halle Berry sci-fi starrer has run into problems, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

“Berry and the Mothership team already completed much of the filming on the project, but it was in need of extensive reshoots to get it over the finish line. Netflix opted not to move forward with those reshoots and shelved the film instead.” Then Variety reported, “The movie finished filming in 2021, but it couldn’t be completed after multiple delays in post-production.”

The story was set as Berry playing a “woman who discovers an extraterrestrial object beneath her home a year after her husband’s disappearance.” The film was written and directed by Matthew Charman and had an ensemble cast that included Molly Parker, John Ortiz, and Omari Hardwick.

With the state of the industry, it is not a huge shock when a project shows this degree of chaos. Just take Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2022 canning Batgirl, a DC superhero film that had wrapped production and was due out under the HBO Max streaming banner.

MRC was producing the film, and Berry, along with Danny Stillman, served as executive producers. Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones from Automatik were producers on board.

Berry has a deal with Netflix and will star in the upcoming film The Union along with Mark Wahlberg. She’s still running strong, and that matters!

Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj Exchange Shots After Release of “HISS”

Megan Thee Stallion Says Watch 'Spooky Season' for New Music

The “Hot Girl Summer” days are long gone. Megan Thee Stallion took the gloves off and fired a shot at Nicki Minaj on her new single “Hiss,” fulling igniting a long-simmering beef.

These hoes don’t be mad at Megan
these hoes mad at Megan’s Law
I don’t really know what the problem is
but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start
Bitch, you a pussy, never finna check me
Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me

– Megan Thee Stallion on “Hiss”

For context, Megan’s Law is the requirement for sex offenders to make their information available to the public. Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has to register as a sex offender in the state of California.

Hearing the diss, Minaj hit Instagram Live, laughing over a recorded clip:

Bad bitch she like six foot, I call her Big Foot
The bitch fell off, I said get up on your good foot

In a bold display of her lyrical prowess, Megan Thee Stallion has unleashed her latest single, “HISS,” via Hot Girl Productions. The track, produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett, solidifies Megan’s position as one of hip-hop’s most talented and dominant lyricists.

“HISS” doesn’t mince words as Megan sets the record straight, delivering fiery bars and showcasing her trademark confidence. The track kicks off with a lyrical flourish, with Megan proclaiming, “I feel like Mariah Carey, got these n****s so obsessed, my pussy so famous might get managed by Kris Jenner next.”

The serpent-themed narrative continues from Megan’s previous solo release, “Cobra,” which dropped in November 2023. “Cobra” delved into mental health themes, emphasizing the importance of shedding the past for a fresh start.

Notably, Megan played a crucial role in the production of “Cobra,” collaborating closely with guitarist Diggy Lessard to craft the beat. “HISS” now adds another fierce chapter to Megan Thee Stallion’s impressive catalog.

What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’

The girls are fighting: Megan Thee Stallion’s appearance on the Mean Girls soundtrack has reignited the fiery side of the rapper. On her latest single, “Hiss,” she’s officially taken the gloves off. While Megan has attempted to stay far away from conflict, her detractors don’t have that same sense of peace; thus, a music beef has been brought to the forefront.

On the record, co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett, Megan is done playing nice with former friend Nicki Minaj.

What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’

Well, nearly the end of the song’s first verse, Megan takes an apparent jab at Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s legal matters. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” raps Megan, referring to Petty’s past sexual assault allegations and failure to register as a sex offender in the state of California. “I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me / B*tches swear they G, but the G must stand for goofy.”

Shortly after the record was released, Nicki took to Instagram Live to preview a snippet of her response diss track.

But apparently, Nicki isn’t the only person Megan turns her pen on. Fans believe the record contains a slew of sharp jabs aimed at her ex-boyfriend Pardi, Drake, and even DaBaby.

Nicki Minaj And Megan Thee Stallion Have Big-Time Beef After Minaj Responded To Meg’s Apparent Diss On ‘Hiss’

Today (January 26), Megan Thee Stallion released a new single, “Hiss.” Nicki Minaj did not like that.

On the new track, Meg raps, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me.”

Per Cornell Law School, Megan’s Law is “the federal law that ‘require(s) the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders.’” This has been interpreted as a reference to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who in 2022 was sentenced to a year of house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.

Minaj caught wind of the new song and didn’t waste time with her retort.

After the song dropped, Minaj hopped on Instagram Live for a broadcast, during which repeatedly played a snippet of an unreleased song featuring lyrics apparently aimed at Meg. Minaj raps, “Bad b*tch, she like six foot, I call her Big Foot / The b*tch fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot.’” The foot lyrics are an apparent reference to Megan getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.

During the broadcast, Minaj also made fun of Meg’s rapping skills, saying, “You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music,” then doing a mocking impression of Meg’s flow.

On top of that, Minaj also liked posts about Megan getting shot, and posted a photo of her feet on X (formerly Twitter).

In what has been interpreted as Megan’s response to this, she took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself laughing.
