Summer Walker Poses With Naomi Campbell Leading Fans To Claim They Look Alike

Fans of Summer Walker are no strangers to scintillating Instagram shots. The R&B darling loves showing off her looks and her fits on social media. But in her newest post, the focus was more about who she was with than what she was looking like. “She’s iconic” Walker captioned an Instagram post featuring a picture of her alongside supermodel Naomi Campbell. But fans rushed to the comments to compare Walker’s own looks to the legendary runway star.

In the comments of a repost of the picture of them together, everyone shared a similar sentiment. “It’s giving mother and daughter 😍 beautiful BYE” one of the top comments reads and it’s far from the only one. “Lol They Look Alike. It’s Giving Mother & Daughter” and “I’m tryna decide is that Face App made them look alike or do they legit look alike” two other comments read. Some of the top comments comparing the two have racked up thousands of likes. Check out the picture that has fans comparing the two cultural figures below.

Summer Walker And Naomi Campbell

Summer Walker recently attracted the ire of the Barbz for a picture of her with an entirely different celeb. That was unsurprisingly Megan Thee Stallion who posed with Walker for a pair of pictures shared to Instagram. That didn’t sit right with fans of Nicki Minaj, who is currently embroiled in a pretty heated beef with Megan. Though Summer didn’t make any real acknowledgement of their rivalry the picture with Megan seems like a subtle embrace of her side.

After a teaser she shared back in December, fans suspect Summer Walker could be working on a remix. The track they’ve honed in on is SZA and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Hit Different.” The song ultimately didn’t make the cut for SZA’s album SOS. But she’s been teasing a deluxe edition called LANA for months that could serve as the perfect place to reintroduce fans to the track. Do you think Summer Walker and Naomi Campbell look alike in the newly shared photo? Let us know if you agree with the fans in the comment section below.

Why Did Kai Cenat & Adin Ross Diss Joe Budden?

Joe Budden has long been better known for his controversial opinions about pop culture than for his music, but his latest targets have equally large platforms and are fighting back against his latest rant. In the wake of the 2024 Grammy Awards, the newest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast found the New Jersey curmudgeon loudly venting against both the show itself — specifically, Travis Scott’s performance — and against streamers like Kai Cenat and Adin Ross, who were upset that Killer Mike won in three rap categories over their generation’s favorite artists like Drake, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott.

“Shut your ass up,” he said, addressing the angry streamers. “Yo, y’all lil streaming n****s don’t always run sh*t. Shut the f*ck up! We don’t care about none of that little streaming, moshpit, marked car whatever you n****s is doing over there… I’m just so happy that the streaming — that the little f*ckity f*cks finally, finally have a look-in-the-mirror moment and say, ‘Oh, it’s not about us.’ No, adults are out, n***a. N****s got pocket handkerchiefs in. N****s got fly sh*t on. Yeah, real execs, business people, you little f*ckity f*cks.”

However, on their own respective streams, Cenat and Ross struck back. During his stream on Twitch, Cenat said, “What we have here is a case of old n**** syndrome… Stop talking about streaming n****s like we some lil’ n****s. I could buy you.” He also pointed out Budden’s habit of hating on younger entertainers, saying, “I could pull up like 20 clips of you doubting every 2016 [XXL] Freshman, and look at them boys right now,” before administering the coup de grace: “You got one hit, Joe! ‘Pump it up!’”

Meanwhile, on Kick, Ross was even nastier, saying, “Joe Budden, every time I see you or a clip of you, it’s just on some hating sh*t. I’ma be honest, bro, I don’t know what you do. I can’t even name one Joe Budden song, respectfully… You’re one of these old asses who hates. Why can’t you be more like Rick Ross or Snoop Dogg, the OGs that are cool as f*ck and show flowers to the young motherf*ckers? You have no room to talk, no room to speak.”

Unfortunately, both sides have good points. As per usual, the generational divide in hip-hop is the culprit, but neither side is taking the appropriate steps to bridge that gap (to paraphrase Dave Chappelle: Where’s J. Cole??). In the midst of Budden’s rant is a nugget of truth: maybe 22-year-olds aren’t in the best position to present themselves as authorities on rap music — especially if they refuse to engage with it past the obvious streaming favorites and hip-hop that barely counts as hip-hop.

But the streamers, jive turkeys that they are (I’m looking at white supremacist/misogynist apologist Ross here), have a point of their own: Joe Budden is a huge hater. Seriously, every time he goes viral it’s for another clip of him that sounds very much like he never got over being dropped by Def Jam, then torching his second chance at Shady Records. If anyone needs a “look in the mirror” moment, it’s Joe.

Grammys Criticism Arises As Harry Belafonte’s Family Speaks Out

In 2023 we said goodbye to several music icons, including 96-year-old Harry Belafonte. The late recording artist was best known for “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song),” though he also contributed significantly to activist movements around the globe. His work was sampled on several occasions in popular hip-hop releases, and he continues to be recognized as one of the few Black creatives to achieve EGOT status. When it came time for the annual Grammy Awards this month, many expected to see the show pay tribute to Belafonte for all his contributions. Unfortunately for them, Belafonte only briefly came up during the “In Memoriam” segment but failed to give any further acknowledgment as we saw other artists receive.

“Love @itstonybennett Love @tinaturner Love @sinadeocconor. Why the @recordingacademy [chose] not to do a special tribute to you I will #never understand!” the legend’s daughter, Gina Belafonte wrote on Facebook earlier this week. “Here is my Grammy tribute to you dad! So many winners you’ve mentored! So many winners you shared your stage with. You are the winner @theharrybelafonte and we are better because of your contribution!” she continued, giving her late father his well-deserved flowers.

Harry Belafonte’s Daughter Honours Him

“Belafonte’s career breakthrough album Calypso (1956) was the first million-selling LP by a single artist,” Gina reminded readers online. As AllHipHop notes, another of Harry’s daughters, Shari Belafonte, aired her grievances with the Grammys too. “While no doubt, Tony Bennett and Tina Turner were special indeed, Harry contributed far more to society and the music industry than those two put together, in my humble opinion. The Grammys missed a major moment.”

Harry Belafonte isn’t the only celebrity who seemingly got snubbed by the Grammy Awards. SZA’s fanbase was outraged after the TDE signee missed out on taking home Album of the Year, but for her part, she’s taking the loss with grace. “Only way from up is higher,” she declared following the ceremony. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Shaq Narrates Tribute To Kobe Ahead Of Lakers Statue Unveiling

TNT has released a tribute to Kobe narrated by his former teammate Shaq. The brief lead-in to a day of remembrance and celebration for the Hall of Famer sees Shaq lead the viewer from Kobe’s storied career. However, the line that will stand out to most is that Shaq calls Kobe the “best teammate I ever had”. While the pair found massive success together in Los Angeles, their relationship was often strained. In the end, the culture clash between the two men would lead to Shaq getting traded away from the Lakers.

Elsewhere, the Lakers have announced that they will wear their “Black Mamba” uniform variant for their February 8 game against Denver as part of a special night honoring the late Kobe Bryant. The team is due to unveil a statue of the career Laker outside Crypto.com Arena before they face the reigning NBA champions. That game will then be played with the team wearing the special uniforms that Bryant himself designed. It will be the first time that the team has worn the uniform variant since doing so during the 2020 season following Kobe’s death.

Footage Of Kobe Bryant Taking Brandy To His Prom Emerges On Twitter

Meanwhile, An X account that shares archival footage recently shared a video of a news report about Kobe Bryant taking Brandy to his high school prom. The event happened in 1996, just months before Bryant would be drafted into the NBA. However, at the time, many of his classmates weren’t overly thrilled with the amount of attention Kobe was receiving. “It’s not Kobe Bryant’s prom, it’s Lower Merion’s prom,” one attendee noted. “Yes, this is Kobe Bryant’s prom. But it’s also everyone’s prom. This is not the Kobe Bryant prom. It’s the prom of the class of 1996,” added another.

Kobe, who was dating Brandy at the time, would arrive three hours after the prom began and was flanked by security. Despite this, a reporter was still able to ask Brandy how she felt about Kobe. As a result, the singer called the future NBA Hall of Famer “very cute”. However, the pair would quickly break up. Brandy would go on to date her “first love”, Boyz II Men lead singer Wayne Morris.

TiaCorine “Almost There” Review

TiaCorine’s highly anticipated major label debut EP, Almost There, is her first project under Interscope Records. After a forceful breakthrough, the colorful rapper evolves far beyond her previous projects. Infusing equal parts brightness and toughness in her new material, Almost There is a step in the right direction. However, as ironic as it may seem, the title fully encapsulates the rapper’s evolution. She’s finding her footing but still has a ways to go.

Upon diving into this release, listeners might notice a shift in dynamics compared to I Can’t Wait. Nonetheless, both projects greatly indicate her exploratory tendencies. On Almost There, TiaCorine transports you to a nightclub, the streets, the bedroom, and most importantly, the innermost parts of her mind. Altogether, the EP, much like her previous work, encompasses various styles and infectious flows. While this may put off some listeners who prefer artists with a trademark sound, it attracts another group of listeners: the curious and adventurous sort. Almost There is vastly different from anything TiaCorine has put out before. The XXL Freshman alum is more confident, consciously attempting to hone in on a more focused sonic landscape.

TiaCorine Electrifies On Almost There

The album kicks off with an electrifying start on “Yung Joc,” a collaboration with fellow XXL Freshman alum, Luh Tyler. On the bold track, TiaCorine is brash, effortlessly intertwining her cutthroat flow with Tyler’s distinct drawl. Despite the seemingly simple beat, a hazy, hypnotic backdrop seals the deal, making it a worthwhile choice for a single. Overall, TiaCorine strikes a balance between speed and vocal lethargy, which becomes a recurring theme on Almost There

“Blick,” featuring Key Glock, maintains the album’s momentum with its hard-hitting beat. As a trap virtuoso, TiaCorine is comfortable, but not to the point of complacency. Her stylistic delivery might give room for Glock’s abilities, though she retains her artistic identity. In the same vein, she bounces back and forth between her dark and bright delivery, keeping a laser-focus on her words.

“Bonnet” is an infectious banger that instantly captivates the mind. With a frantic beat, and TiaCorine’s playful delivery, the track leaves a lasting impression on its audience and is easily a standout on Almost There. Subsequent tracks like “Give No F*ck” and “Shamone” do not match up to the rapper’s capabilities, however. Nonetheless, they exude the raw, unapologetic energy fans of TiaCorine have come to expect in bursts.

Hidden Vocal Gems

The EP’s third track, “Olive,” is another noteworthy moment on Almost There. Specifically, it features a stellar beat crafted by the skilled hands of BNYX. Moreover, Zelooperz lends the most infectious hook, injecting a dose of vivacity into the EP. While both TiaCorine and Zelooperz deliver exceptional verses, it’s hard to ignore the latter’s magnetic presence. Interestingly, while TiaCorine matches the flows of her contemporaries on the first two tracks, Zeeloperz successfully steals the spotlight on “Olive.”

Nonetheless, TiaCorine shines, and the track should be a prime contender for Almost There’s next single. “Olive” boasts such an infectious energy, and offering a visual narrative could further elevate the track’s impact. TiaCorine’s voice is deep, yet satiny and breathy smooth, which is yet another layer of artistry that she has mastered. Almost There, although lacking in a bulk of vocal moments, has just enough to earn TiaCorine a new wave of trap fans.

TiaCorine Sets The Scene For The Almost There Tour.

It also just happens that this EP is coming in the wake of TiaCorine’s Almost There tour announcement. Therefore, it’s easier to speculate that this project is more of a tour teaser, than a pointer to her new artistic trajectory. This introspection also raises intriguing questions about the evolution of TiaCorine’s sound and the potential direction she may be headed in.

Almost There is a compelling snapshot of TiaCorine’s current artistic state. Backed by a major label, and with an advanced production, the music is proof of her capabilities. However, as aforementioned, TiaCorine is still on a journey, and Almost There, although a worthy project, is just a teaser. Deep in the nooks of her music, there’s a much stronger rapper. Hopefully, we’ll get a greater taste of that soon.

Ice Spice Debuts Starry Super Bowl Ad

The full Starry’s Super Bowl ad featuring Ice Spice has finally dropped. In the ad, Spice is being rizzed up the soda brand’s two animated mascots when her “ex-boyfriend” shows up to try and win back the rapper. When she rejects him, the man’s head horrifyingly explodes in a fountain of soda. Titled “It’s Time To See Other Sodas”, the ad dropped on February 2. However, contrary to the belief of some gossip sites, the ad did not reveal any details of the rapper’s actual love life.

However, it’s not Spice’s first food and drink advertising collab. Before she was doing Super Bowl ads, she was appearing in Dunkin commercials. Last year, Spice teamed up with Ben Affleck to promote her limited-time signature drink at the coffee chain. The first ad for the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink dropped during the VMAs on September 12. In something of a meta advertisement, Spice and certified Boston Boy Ben Affleck tried to come up with names for her signature drink. It’s a fun little spot with Affleck turning his Southie accent up to 11 while an unimpressed Spice serves as his straight woman.

Ice Spice Fires Off At Latto

However, exploding the heads of inferior soda-loving exes is not the only thing that Spice has been up to lately. Spice renewed her beef with Latto with some scathing remarks during a recent Spaces AMA. While answering fan questions, Spice went off about Latto playing the music video for “Pretty Girl” in the background of a recent video. “Why am I in the back of your weak a– snippet? I thought it was fake, I thought it had to be AI but no. Like be bold, but if you’re going to talk about me, then talk about me. Why am I in the back of your weak a– snippet?” Spice off to the collection of shocked listeners.

This latest barrage from the Bronx rapper comes after she dropped “Think U The Shit (Fart)” in which she took direct shots at Latto. It’s still unclear what caused the beef to initially kick off. However, fans immediately drew battle lines. Latto is yet to directly respond to both Spice’s new single and the latest comments about the surprise cameo in her latest snippet. Whose side are you on? Let us know in the comments.
