Earlier this week, it was announced that a new documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, will hit Prime Video soon, on October 31. Now, we have our first trailer, and it’s an emotional one.

Meg finds herself shedding tears on numerous occasions, whether she’s discussing the passing of her mother or getting shot by Tory Lanez. Of the latter, Meg says in the trailer, “I want people to understand how this is affecting me. I want people to see how I feel.”

Megan has also had plenty of highlights in her life and career, though, and those are featured here, too.

A press release previously said of the doc:

“The documentary will provide viewers with an intimate perspective into Megan’s life and career. From delving into Megan’s upbringing in Texas to chronicling key milestones in her career, the project will shed light on the many facets of Houston native’s multilayered personality. […]

With a mix of rare archival footage and fresh verité video, the documentary will highlight Megan’s rise from viral freestyling phenom to iconic cultural powerhouse. Beyond amplifying the Houston native’s journey to success, the project will also touch on how Megan overcame various personal hurdles to thrive in her professional career.”

His daughter Mego YSL even recently dropped off a new song, which just goes to show how much she’s taken after her father. In it, she spits menacing bars directed at her opps, and more. At the end of 2020, she also unveiled two singles on YouTube, “They Listen a Lot” and “Do What I Can.” The tracks sparked similarly mixed reactions from fans at the time. While some argue that some of the subject matter in Mego’s music isn’t age-appropriate, others aren’t bothered by it, and point out how much potential she has. Either way, it looks like Mego is committed to honing her craft. This is far from the only rapper’s child to try out rapping for themselves. Lil Wayne’s son, Diddy’s sons, and more have also made headlines for their musical endeavors in the past.

Earlier this year, for example, Lil Wayne’s 14-year-old son Neal previewed a new song on Triller. His experimental style prompted comparisons to Playboi Carti and Yeat, though again, not everyone was comfortable with the subject matter. Aoki Lee Simmons has come to the defense of Diddy’s children, whom she labeled her “little cousins.” When asked about the allegations surrounding their father during a recent stream on Instagram Live, she emphasized that the kids are “wonderful people.” The comments come in the wake of mounting legal woes for the Bad Boy mogul, regarding tons of allegations of which he’s already denied.

“I think his daughters and children are such wonderful people,” she said. “I really hope you guys treat them with love and respect, ’cuz they’re nice kids.” She added: “It’s not their fault. Anything adults, that’s adult business and they are not adults… They are in school. They are not adults so please treat them like children. That’s all I ask.”

Recently, it was falsely reported that DJ Clark Kent passed away due to an unspecified illness. Despite these reports, the veteran DJ is fortunately very much alive and well, according to Angie Martinez, Questlove, and more. “The article that The Source Mag & others have posted about the passing of Dj Clark Kent is false,” Martinez wrote on X earlier today. “Clark is home with his family. Please refrain from sharing any other false information. It is hurtful, deeply irresponsible and untrue.”

The Source, which falsely reported on the artist’s death, issued an explanation for the error in response to Martinez’s post. “The Source was contacted by a family member who brought that information to us as it was reported on other outlets,” the outlet explained. “We are pleased to hear of the well-being of DJ Clark Kent and apologize to the family for reporting the false information.”

Angie Martinez Shuts Down False Death Reports, Calls Them “Deeply Irresponsible”

Questlove also responded to the false reports with an Instagram post, making it clear that the producer had not passed away. “DJ Clark Kent is STILL with us. I know a lot of you are rushing to be ‘FIRST!’” he wrote. “But until word or statement comes from his wife or family, can y’all please quit with the misinformation? It’s stressful as it is.” Pete Rock even joined in to encourage social media users to stop sharing fake information, as it could be harmful to the living DJ’s loved ones.

According to her, however, her WNBA salary is simply not enough to cover her living expenses. During a recent chat with fans, she revealed that she pays a whopping $8K for rent. She said her salary is roughly $74K, meaning that she’s spending $22K more than she earns from the WNBA on rent alone.

“I’m living above my means,” Reese joked. “Hating pays them bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at [in Chicago]. I’m gonna do the math real quick. It’s been three years since Tyler The Creator‘s most recent album, Call Me If You Get Lost. But, he appears to be teasing a new project.

In the video for a new song “St. Chroma,” a man wearing a mask walks through desert followed by others directly behind him. There’s whispered rapping over a marching beat and a choir, and a container with the word “Chromakopia” on it. The footage ends with the container bursting into flames following an explosion. Could Chromakopia be the title of his next album? We’ll have to wait and see, although the timing is, let’s say, interesting with Tyler’s Camp Flog Gnaw (the best festival in America) coming up next month.

Tyler The Creator recently had Steve Lacy’s back when he was being harassed by fans for new music. “album this album that what happen to hello? the “Bad Habit” singer wrote on Instagram. Tyler commented, “i feel you. sh*t is annoying especially when i never said out my mouth an album was coming. i wanna be an actress lmfao.” He’ll have to settle for starring in an A24 movie alongside Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow.
