Young Thug Offers A Rare Smile In Court

Young Thug has been in court for quite some time at this point. As many of you know, he is currently on trial in the YSL RICO case. Overall, Thugger is being accused of a plethora of accused crimes. In fact, the prosecution has painted the artist as some sort of criminal mastermind and mafia don. Although the artist has some of the best lawyers in the world, there is no telling what could end up happening in this case. After all, RICO cases can come with extremely long prison sentences.

If you have been following along with the case, you would know that the court proceedings have not been without antics. Consequently, there have been numerous delays and recesses. People have been making a scene in the court, and it always leads to confusion. Additionally, the trial is being filmed, which then leads to some of these moments going viral. This is bad for both the defense and the prosecution, who just want to get on with the trial. Needless to say, this could all take a while.

Young Thug Perseveres

However, Young Thug seems to be keeping a very positive attitude while in court. In the video above posted by OurGenerationMusic, Thugger could be seen smiling while talking to his lawyer. Overall, it is a very small gesture. However, it does show that Thug still has some positivity despite everything that is happening. Although, it should be noted that court didn’t go that smoothly yesterday. According to TheNeighborhoodTalk, calamity took place in the court as Lil Rod was taken away in handcuffs. Furthermore, there were other defendants who experienced the same fate. All sorts of chaos took place, and eventually, cameras had to be turned off.

It was yet another example of how this hasn’t exactly been the smoothest trial. Either way, we’re sure both sides of the equation would rather this just go on as normal. There is a lot at stake here, and there are a lot of people’s lives who are at stake. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments below. Calamity In The Court

YSL Codefendant Facing Mental Evaluation For Claiming Trump Gave Him Legal Advice

The RICO trial of YSL and Young Thug just encountered yet another roadblock after Fulton County Chief Judge Ural Glanville ordered a mental evaluation of a codefendant. Moreover, YSL affiliate Jayden Myrick claimed to receive legal advice from former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden, and U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff. This followed various delays in the jury selection process, which is expected to take months to complete. Since January, the court has searched for jurors to evaluate the crimes and fates of Young Thug and 13 other codefendants. With this new development, the trial might take longer to get underway.

Furthermore, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Judge Glanville expressed concern for Myrick’s statements. Last month, his attorneys made a request for a hearing to establish the 22-year-old’s competency to represent himself in court. Said request came directly as a result of his wishes. “I’m not the regular inmate,” he reportedly stated during the hearing. “I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me. Donald Trump is going to get me out.” Afterwards, he struggled to make himself clear in the court’s eyes. “I have some serious concerns about his present competency,” the judge remarked after asking if he took medication.

Judge Orders Mental Evaluation Of Codefendant In YSL Case

However, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Myrick did receive medical prescriptions, which included an antipsychotic. Still, the codefendant maintained that he doesn’t need treatment via said medication. “I don’t need the medication,” he allegedly told the court. Not only that, but he expressed dissatisfaction with his legal team, alleging that his defense wasn’t on his side.

Given these statements, Judge Glanville ordered a mental evaluation of Myrick within 48 hours. Moreover, this evaluation would determine whether the alleged YSL coconspirator is competent to stand trial among his cohorts. If the evaluation rules otherwise, his case could face separate trial so as to not cause further delays for his 13 codefendants. As such, perhaps this won’t affect the case’s timeline as the situation suggests. Despite those hopes, given how many twists and turns this case underwent, it’s not out of the question. YSL Case: Potential Juror Sentenced To Jail Time For Filming Jury Selection Process

More headaches surround the jury selection process in the YSL case have emerged. Over the past few months, the defense and prosecutors struggled to identify their jurors for the RICO trial. However, the judge has also found himself scolding many of the potential candidates. This time, a judge issued jail time for one individual accused of recording the jury selection process. The judge explained that there were potential punishments: a $1000 fine or 20 days in jail. Ultimately, he sentenced the juror to 3 days behind bars for contempt.

“Madam, I think given that the amount of time and energy and effort and care we spent in making that particular pronouncement, and I even – I tell it multiple times for multiple reasons and you decide that you want to do what you wanted to do,” the judge said before the individual tried to provide an explanation. “Well, you pulled out your phone and you recorded this court’s proceedings which is a direct violation of the court’s orders so I’m going to sentence you to three days in jail.”

YSL Juror Jailed For Contempt

The judge explained that he didn’t want to issue a fine to the individual because of his repeated warnings during the jury selection process. “Unfortunately, I have told several people and made several iterations of this particular notice. And you video taped our proceedings. It’s a brazen violation of these particular proceedings,” he said. While the juror tried to explain that “so much was going on,” the judge shut her “excuse for behavior” down.”

Unfortunately, this is just among the many issues that have occurred during the jury selection process. In the past few months, the judge has scolded and punished a number of individuals. One juror, in particular, found themselves having to write a paper on the importance of jury selection after reportedly skipping town for vacation.  Another was found in contempt for allegedly trying to contact a reporter. Due to the number of mishaps throughout the Young Thug trial, there will be roughly 1,200 potential jurors called. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates surrounding the YSL RICO case including the progress with jury selection.

Young Thug Flexes Gains In New Prison Pic

Young Thug remains behind bars as he awaits the YSL RICO trial to begin. The rapper was arrested last May along with 27 other associates, including Gunna, who has since been released after taking an Alford Plea. In the past two months, jury selection has been underway and the process has been from furthest thing to smooth. Many have been excused after sharing their hardships with the judge. By the time February rolled around, the jury selection process appeared to be stagnant and they expected it to take several months.

Jury selection aside, many of the co-defendants have found themselves in hot water. There was that infamous moment where a co-defendant tried to hand Young Thug a pill that he immediately handed over to the bailiff. However, the leak of YSL Woody’s interrogation video became the biggest controversy to emerge thus far. Though a judge rejected a motion for a mistrial, the incident is being further investigated. Meanwhile, the prosecutors have expressed fear that their potential star witness might be in danger.

Young Thug Shows Gains

Since his arrest, we haven’t heard many updates from Young Thug but his family members and friends passed along messages on his behalf. A few months ago, she assured fans that the rapper was in good spirits during this trying time. However, over the weekend, she blessed fans with a new picture of Thug via video call. The rapper has clearly been working out heavily these days. Dolly White shared a photo of Thug flexing his gains, writing, “My Heart.”

Prior to Dolly White’s update, Metro Boomin revealed that he also got the opportunity to chop it up with Thug. He also expressed optimism that Thug would be back sooner rather than later. “Talked to [spider emoji] today and just know when he touchdown the whole [earth emoji] gon feel it [bicep flex emoji],” he wrote. Metro was one of the few artists to release music with Thug since his arrest. Thugger appeared on Heroes & Villains singles, “Trance” alongside Travis Scott and “Metro Spider.” Perhaps, Metro might unload some more unreleased Thug sometime soon. Check out Dolly White’s post above.

Young Thug Trial’s Judge Orders Probe Of Leaked Evidence

Judge Ural Glanville ordered a probe of leaked evidence in the RICO trial of Young Thug and YSL. Moreover, the evidence in question is a surfaced video of a state’s witness offering information in the case in exchange for leniency. Now, the judge ordered an investigation into how that video spread across social media like wildfire. “It affects everyone’s right to a fair trial,” Glanville told attorneys. “I don’t know who did this but if this pertains to you, please amend your ways. You’re playing a very dangerous game with your six-digit bar number.”

Furthermore, jury selection in the developing case is still ongoing, and will reportedly last several months. Following multiple delays and a host of other courtroom and prison incidents, this trial seems no closer to getting started. In fact, the process began over two months ago, and it seems like every week there’s more time added to the estimate. Still, Judge Glanville urged prosecutors and defense attorneys on Wednesday (March 1) to keep evidence secret until the trial. Not only that, but the trial process itself is expected to take anywhere from six to nine months to complete.

Meanwhile, the leaked interrogation video in question surfaced about two weeks ago and was tied to YSL affiliate Lil Woody. Gina Bernard, attorney of codefendant Jayden Myrick, filed a motion seeking a mistrial which Glanville ultimately denied. Moreover, she claimed that publicity and previous altercations make a fair trial impossible for her client. However, the prosecution alleges that the defense leaked the video, as it surfaced less than a month after they gained access.

“The state has absolutely no interest in leaking this video to members of the public,” prosecutors wrote. “Its dissemination serves only to intimidate and harass witnesses called upon by the state to testify in a very serious and high-profile case.” Furthermore, they said that the video put their witness in danger, as many threw out accusations of snitching and rat behavior. Still, defense attorneys maintained that, since prosecutors shared the clip with an unsecured link, anyone could’ve leaked it. Also, Glanville warned that if further leaks occur, he will restrict discovery evidence for viewing in his chambers. Regardless of your take, come back to HNHH for the latest on the YSL case and Young Thug.

Young Scooter Shades YSL Members for Snitching in Preview of New Song

Young Scooter Shades YSL Members for Snitching in Preview of New Song

Young Scooter is not with that snitching! After suggesting a rat tour, Scooter is back to the music, dropping off a new diss to YSL. The song’s title has not been revealed or a release date has not been dropped but the message is clear.

“I can’t talked to Spider, I can’t call him Slime
Half the Slimes told, yeah they dropping dimes
Had to drop something for the hood cus the streets crying
Shit I’m already rich I ain’t gotta die trying”

In case you missed the reference, Spider is Young Thug.

Hip-Hop has been pointing out informants, culturally known as rats, in light of various court cases. Without naming names Young Scooter wants to create a “rat tour” and Boosie Badazz seems to think it’s a good idea.

@youngscooter I AGREE PUT ALL THE RATS ON TOUR N LET ALL THE RATS FANS GO TO THEY CONCERTS,” Boosie typed on Twitter. “FEED EVERYBODY DIFFERENT KINDS OF CHEESE AT THE CONCESSION! ALSO POST THE NAMES OF EVERYBODY THEY SNITCHED ON BEHIND THEM ON THE SCREEN! WHO GO BOOK THE RAT TOUR?”

Lil Woody Interrogation Leak Leads To Mistrial Request: Report

An attorney for defendant Jayden Myrick, aka SetTrip, in the YSL RICO case, has reportedly filed for a mistrial. The report stems from court documents published by Law&Crime Network executive producer Cathy Russon. In them, Myrick’s legal team cites the recent leak of Lil Woody’s three-hour interrogation video. The leak has been spreading all over social media in recent days. The motion says that a court order previously mandated that discovery material not be shared on social media.

New York Times music reporter Joe Coscarelli posted the motion on Twitter as well. He writes, “The leak of this 3+ hour interrogation video regarding Young Thug and YSL — which is now excerpted on every rap gossip blog in existence (with lots wrong/out of context) — has led to a motion for mistrial today by one of the defendants.” During the video, Lil Woody can be seen appearing incredibly nervous as he speaks with police investigators. He didn’t have his lawyer with him at the time.

The Court Motion

The motion cites an order that states parties involved in the case should not disseminate discovery material on social media. The request explains, “On or about Friday, February 17, 2023, discovery material was disseminated on social media in clear violation of said Order. While said evidence may not directly implicate my client, it along with all of the publicity and courtroom incidents since the start of this trial that have not been the result of any conduct of my client, Jayden Myrick, make it impossible for him to receive a fair trial, as well as a jury that is honestly and truly fair and impartial. WHEREFORE, Defendant respectfully requests a hearing in this matter instanter, and, that the case against him specifically, be dismissed with prejudice.”

Young Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, who is not currently seeking a mistrial, says that he’s still “shocked and disappointed”. “The release of this video harms Mr. Williams a great deal. These are just stories,” he told Coscarelli before adding, “We need a trial by a fair and impartial jury.” Cathy Russon says that the parties are at least two months away from finalizing a jury.

Young Scooter Says Half Of YSL Snitched On Young Thug In New Song Snippet

The trial of Young Thug has taken many different twists and turns, even before jury selection began. It looks like there will be a few months until the trial begins. However, Thugger has the odds stacked against him. The District Attorney’s made it clear that they’re after Young Thug in this case. At the same time, it seems that more and more co-defendants are copping deals, while some are starting to single out Young Thug as the leader of YSL.

Many of those who copped plea deals stated that they didn’t bend or fold but that isn’t entirely true. Interrogation room footage of YSL Woody emerged over the weekend where he detailed alleged crimes committed by YSL. He pointed the finger at Thug, brought up 21 Savage, and even stated that he could get people to corroborate his confession via FaceTime. However, even with Gunna, his Alford Plea, which his attorney reiterated wouldn’t be used against any of the defendants, has left his reputation in shambles.

Young Scooter Says He Talked To Young Thug

Though many of Young Thug’s immediate associates appear to be folding under pressure, many of the rapper’s friends in the music industry are standing tall by him. Young Scooter, for example, recently shared a song snippet following a conversation with Young Thug. Scooter suggested that the PUNK rapper is aware that many of his co-defendants copped plea deals and have been “dropping dimes.” In fact, he suggested that roughly half of those who were arrested with Thug are beginning to fold.

“I just talked to Spider, I can’t call him Slime/ Half the slimes told, yeah, they droppin’ dimes/ Had to drop some for the hood ‘cause the streets cryin’/ Shit I’m already rich so I can’t die tryin’,” he raps on the record. Thug nor his attorneys have responded to any of the allegations surrounding YSL Woody or any of the other individuals who are reportedly cooperating. However, it’s clear that people like Scooter are concerned about the outcome in Young Thug’s trial. Check out the snippet above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Young Thug Trial Faces Bump As Lawyers Of Two YSL Codefendants Are Pregnant

The Young Thug and YSL trial recently took a turn as two lawyers of codefendants are now pregnant. Now, both YSL members potentially face separate trials at a later date that could keep them incarcerated for longer. Moreover, prosecutors filed a motion this week to eliminate Tenquarius Mender and Kahlieff Adams from Thug’s trial. Furthermore, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that prosecutors referred to “impending and imminent personal leave of absence.” However, the pregnant lawyers in question dismissed these notions and maintained they can fully represent their clients.

“I don’t think pregnancy should be treated as a disease or a disability,” Nicole Fegan, who represents Mender, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “If Rihanna can do it, I’m sure that we can both adequately represent our clients.” While Thugger’s trial could last from six to nine months, it’s unclear how far along each lawyer is in their pregnancy. Interestingly, Fegan requested the judge to sever her client from the RICO case, and the court denied said motion. Following that, now she objected to the state creating a separate trial. From her statement, she seemed to specifically highlight that jury selection is already underway. As such, any initial plans she had for severance would now hurt the process too much.

“I think at this point, trying them separately would be expensive and potentially prejudicial because the jury selection process has already started,” Fegan remarked. “We’ve been on this case since May, and in May I wasn’t pregnant.” On the other hand, neither Mender nor Adams expressed desires for new lawyers after this revelation, at least as of writing this article. Moreover, the court will hear this motion on Tuesday (February 21) at the earliest.

Meanwhile, jury selection for YSL’s case already faced several delays and could take a while to complete. Considering that, these developments only mean more time and money for the court, and months behind bars for defendants. For example, after excusing many jurors for varied health and circumstance reasons, the court sought out an additional 300 potential jurors. Whether these pregnancies pose an obstacle for the collective remains to be seen. However, prosecutors seem keen on focusing in on the meat of the case and setting precedent for later convictions. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest on Young Thug and the YSL trial.

YSL Judge Holds Potential Juror In Contempt For Contacting Reporter In Young Thug Trial

Judge Glanvile of the YSL RICO case found a potential juror in contempt (in other words, disobeyed court orders) for reaching out to a reporter concerning the Young Thug trial. Moreover, the juror will now pay the price. Furthermore, Glanville ordered the juror to ten hours of community service concerning “behavior, choices, and consequences.” Also, the juror must attend the first five days of trial regardless of jury selection. In a clip shared to social media of the judge’s ruling, the juror said they take full responsibility for their actions.

Furthermore, Glanville could’ve sentenced the juror to 20 days in jail for willful contempt. Instead, he opted for community service hours and trial sit-ins, which he believes will satisfy contempt. During the exchange, the judge reminded the potential jurors of the consequences their actions could bring. “This is how we have hiccups in trials and we have to sometimes start over,” he shared. “Because people don’t do what they’re supposed to do.” Overall, perhaps this juror’s actions will result in information leaks, another reversal of jury selection, or more dire consequences. After all, Jeffrey Williams and his YSL codefendants are on dangerously thin ice, and one small detail could mean disaster.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Judge Glanville took issue with a juror’s irresponsibility. Some time ago, he ordered a juror to write a 30-page essay on the importance of jury duty. Moreover, it seems they handed in their report and the judge expressed satisfaction with it. Whereas he excused many jurors for various reasons, the court brought in yet another batch of potential jurors. With the trial expected to take a year or maybe more, these jury delays certainly don’t bode well.

Still, Thugger’s trial took shape in other ways this week. For example, he listed music industry executives Kevin Liles and Lyor Cohen as potential witnesses to the stand. Both share a close relationship with the “Check” MC, with Liles in particular penning a message of support recently. “The man I know is a loving father, great business partner and an inspiration to so many people around the world,” he wrote. “Stay strong my brother and you know where I stand…” Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on the YSL case and Young Thug.
