Eric Andre is no stranger to torturing his guests though surprisingly plenty of people still agree to be on his show. His most frequent category of guests are musicians who often get the chance to perform. However, those performances usually come with some kind of terrible gimmick played for laughs. In season six of The Eric Andre Show alone he’s had Lil Nas X, Denzel Curry, Waka Flocka Flame, Donald Glover, and Lil Yachty on the show.

The newest victim is Rico Nasty, who likely knew she was getting into something crazy. Eric Andre opts for a gross-out play on the rapper’s stage name as a bit. She gives consecutive performances as Rico Nastier and Rico Nastierer in the trailer below. The episode also features an interview with rapper turned psychedelic rock act Lil Yachty. It was released last night alongside the season 6 finale. That companion episode featured a performance from rap legends Cypress Hill.

Rico Nasty On The Eric Andre Show

Rico Nasty set the tone for this summer when she dropped a new EP last month. Nasty Summer collected some remixes, sped up versions, and soundtrack cuts into a short compilation. It presents a short run of her most hard-hitting track back to back. The project follows two new singles she’s released this year. “Beat My Face” came out back in March and she followed it up with “Turn It Up” a month later. The latter featured production from Hyperpop duo 100 Gecs and serves as the opening song on Nasty Summer.

Last year, Rico Nasty dropped her second studio album Las Ruinas. The tracklist features guest verses from Teezo Touchdown, Marshmellow, Fred Again, and more. The album saw Rico journeying through various genre experiments with interpolations of metal and dance music. She also made an appearance on one of the biggest debut projects in rap last year. Uzi has always expressed fondness for the support they’ve received from the LGBT community. But according to HipHopDX, early on Pink Tape Uzi puts questions about their sexuality permanently to rest.

The album starts off with “Flooded The Face” which features lyrics about Uzi’s orientation. “First of all, I f*ck eight b*tches a day, How could you ever say Lil Uzi gay?, F*ck four of ’em raw, f*ck four of ’em safe, Think I’m splittin’ the odds before you to debate.” While Uzi is no stranger to spitting bars about the sex they’re having, this is the first time where they’ve taken on his gay allegations directly. Later on in the album on the track “Spin Again” they return to the idea with new lyrics. “they thought I was gay, but I don’t know how though,” the song reads. That song also features a lyric comparing the girl Uzi is with to Ice Spice. Those lyrics in particular sparked some controversy when Uzi performed the song at the BET Awards.

Lil Uzi Vert and their partner, JT from City Girls, got in a viral fight during the BET show. While many thought initially that the Ice Spice lyric might have had something to do with the fight, both sides quickly denied that and supplied their own explanations.

redveil Recalls His Feelings After Tyler, The Creator Cosign

redveil is just 19 years old and is already becoming one of the most acclaimed rappers out there. Like many around his age, his music is heavily influenced by various members of the Odd Future collective. In a recent chat with HipHopDX, redveil looked back on what it felt like to receive a cosign from Odd Future leader Tyler, The Creator. “I still kind of reflect on that now. “It happened like really, really early … that was the first year when people even started to listen to my music, like at all,” redveil explains.

Back in 2020, Tyler, The Creator shared redveil’s song “drown” on his Instagram page. At the time the Maryland rapper was just 16 years old. “To be able to like catch the attention of somebody that’s that high up in terms of inspiration … it still feels like it didn’t happen,”redveil explains. He goes on to call the experience one of the biggest signs that he should keep making music. Later on in the interview he called Tyler’s 2017 album Flower Boy his favorite of all the rappers works.

Tyler is far from the only rapper to give redveil his flowers. Earlier this year he served as the lone feature on a collaborative album from two of the underground’s most acclaimed artists Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA. Yesterday, Machine Gun Kelly dropped the newest video in his freestyle series and there are some familiar names involved. For this cypher, MGK is joined by Atlanta rapper Doe Boy. The pair deliver 4 minutes of bars over the beat to Cam’Ron’s classic hit “Killa Cam.” The video immediately began trending on YouTube and racked up over 400k views in less than 24 hours.

In his freestyle, Machine Gun Kelly doesn’t start any new beef, but he does deliver some mind-bending bars. “Y’all won’t give me my flowers, but y’all hypin’ this?, Ears must be damaged, someone Mike Tyson’d it, The flow’s tight like Ice Spice’s fit, But my ricks loose like my 4X white tee in 2006!” he says during the performance. His freestyle series has made waves in the past for a few different reasons. The previous episode featured an appearance from Cordae and has been viewed over 4.5 million times since it dropped last month. In a follow-up freestyle the “My Ex’s Best Friend” rapper took some shots at Jack Harlow following his claim that he’s the best white rapper since Eminem.

Machine Gun Kelly’s Backyard Cypher

Machine Gun Kelly is no stranger to having beefs. He famously has beef with Eminem which all stems from a decade-old tweet MGK made about Em’s daughter. The beef erupted in 2018 and resulted in some memorable viral diss tracks like “Killshot” and “Rap Devil.” In addition to Jack Harlow and Eminem, MGK has picked fights with the lead singers of The All-American Rejects and Slipknot in the past. His only new song in 2023 so far was the single “PRESSURE.” It dropped in late May and already has more than 5 million Spotify streams.

Doe Boy on the other hand has been very prolific this year. He just dropped his new album BEEZY which serves as a super quick follow-up to a pair of new projects he released last year. NLE Choppa Snatches DDG’s Chain In New Vlog

DDG may be a successful and popular rapper, but many out there know that he got his start on YouTube as a vlogger. In his ongoing series on the platform, he’s been known to feature other rappers and give a peek behind the curtain. However, not all interactions end up being the calmest or most innocent, as NLE Choppa recently proved. While on the social media star’s series, the Memphis MC was looking quite hungrily at his chain, rubbing his hands together like some sort of movie villain. Of course, the awkward silence was quite noticeable, and the Michigan native had to try to clear the air.

“You straight?” DDG asked NLE Choppa. “Yeah I’m good, man. That chain just hard, bro,” he responded. “You got more chains than me n***a!” the former remarked. “S**t, I could have some more,” Choppa revealed. “It’s just, like, when you see somebody’s s**t you get motivated. You look at a n***a’s s**t and just want it,” he expressed, specifying that he needs something round, which is exactly like the chain in question. Then, he snatches it off of him, and the camera cuts to another scene. Given that we don’t see DDG with the chain for the rest of the video, it’s unclear if the Cottonwood 2 MC ran away with it or not.

Regardless, the “I’m Geekin” rapper is probably showing us this interaction in jest, or at least with no hard feelings. After all, if you’re not going to call someone out directly, why included that in your vlog series without further hostility? Still, it’s been kind of crazy to see him stick to his YouTube roots while also developing his rap career and other ventures. For example, Kai Cenat and Lil Yachty recently reacted to the old diss track that DDG sent out at the latter. Yachty actually gave him his flowers as a businessman, artist, and hustler, as that song ended up blowing him up online.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old recently reacted to someone calling him an “E-list” MC. “‘E-list rapper’ kinda funny ngl lol,” he tweeted. “Number 2 E-List rapper going crazy,” he added with a laughing emoji, which is in reference to his aforementioned track being the second-most added song on U.S. Urban Radio.
