Trippie Redd has revealed that he isn’t actually the father of the child he thought he was following a DNA test. Speaking with DDG about being a parent, he explained that he got the test and doesn’t have any kids after all. Trippie had announced that he welcomed a son back in November.
“How’s fatherhood?” DDG asked in a vlog on YouTube. “I feel like we had a kid around the same time.” From there, Trippie remarked: “Bruh, I got a DNA test. I don’t even got a kid.” He explained: “I swear, bro. I thought I did, and then I told the world that. Like, ahead of time, I never got no DNA test. And I ended up getting a DNA test and it wasn’t my kid.”

From there, DDG asked “Did it kind of mess with you a little bit?” to which Trippie admitted it did. He also revealed his mother was the one to pressure him into getting the DNA test. “I feel like all the things I was going through during that time was like, really f**king with me,” he said. “That’s why I couldn’t go on tour, or like, couldn’t do shows and s**t. I couldn’t really get in my spunk, and feel good and s**t. It was a lot of s**t going on. Just a lot of confusion. I mean, it’s life. A lot of s**t just happens. J Cole recently teased his upcoming album The Fall Off with a vlog titled Might Delete Later Vol. 2. The video follows a similar format to Vol. 1, and offers fans a glimpse into Cole’s day-to-day studio sessions, collaborative partners, and even provides a brief snippet of unreleased music. These breadcrumbs have kept fans hyped for his upcoming long-awaited seventh studio album. Let’s take a moment to dive into the content presented in the latest volume of J Cole’s vlog series, and highlight some of the most interesting and important moments shown in the brief outing.
J Cole’s Might Delete Later Vol. 2 features a series of retro-style video editing choices, with grainy footage reminiscent of early MTV documentaries, and old-school video game graphic menus serving as interstitials to the clips shown. The whole piece is very similar in feel to JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown’s visual release of the Scaring The Hoes: DLC pack last July. For now, it remains unclear whether these editing choices are thematically relevant to J Cole’s upcoming body of work or if they simply serve as artistic flourishes to give the “Might Delete Later” series a bold and unique identity.
Elsewhere in the vlog, J Cole shoots hoops in his prototype pair of Dreamer Indie 5000’s. The sneakers appear to be a new fully independent venture from Cole, without collaboration or oversight from any major clothing retailers. While little information is available about the sneakers currently, they offer an old-school aesthetic that complements the retro video style of “Might Delete Later Vol. 2.” Fans speculate that the shoes will release around the same time as The Fall Off, as Cole has been wearing the Indie 5000’s on stage during recent performances and courtside at various NBA games.

Luckily, the 39-year-old rapper has plenty of talented peers to parse through the drafts with him, as “Might Delete Later Vol. 2” showcases a wide array of popular rappers and producers popping into the studio. While it’s never made clear if any of the other big names in the video are laying guest verses on J Cole’s upcoming music, or just stopping by to hang out, Might Delete Later Vol. 2 sees appearances from the likes of Drake, Lil Yachty, Central Cee, Bas, and Benny The Butcher, as well as a first-time meeting between Cole and Sexyy Red.
J Cole can also be seen nodding his head to a vibrant Conductor Williams beat, which fans would surely be hyped to hear the Dreamville head rapping over. Rumors suggest that The Fall Off may feature production from Metro Boomin. However, this collaboration could be in jeopardy since Metro has teamed up with Kendrick Lamar on the diss track “Like That,” aimed at Drake and J Cole.
Several New Previews Can Be Heard Throughout The Vlog
Like the first edition of Might Delete Later, J Cole previewed some new music in the latest outing that has fans buzzing online. The second volume in the series offers a much wider array of sounds than the first, with Cole dropping several beats and freestyles which may or may not find their way to seeing a full proper release. Most notably, Cole teased a roughly 90-second long track which sees him taking his bicycle for a spin through the neighborhood while waxing poetic about his blessings and his elite pen game.
J Cole concludes Might Delete Later Vol. 2 with yet another brief snippet, and an “as seen on TV” style screen saver offering a phone number that fans can call or text. Reaching out to the number provides listeners with another snippet, and offers the opportunity to receive text updates on Cole’s upcoming work. For now, The Fall Off still has no official release date, though the latest teasers from Might Delete Later Vol. 2 indicate the project is just around the corner.
The Fall Off is almost here, and J. Cole is hyping fans up for it yet again with another Might Delete Later vlog. Moreover, Vol. 2 contains a couple of different song teases and snippets, fun and introspective moments while on his Big As The What? tour with Drake, and some other creative visuals and music video set-ups, paired with great editing and a vintage aesthetic, to bring us into the creative process behind this album. It’s similar to other promotional rollouts and initiatives such as for Tyler, The Creator’s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST back in 2021. But what makes The Fall Off different is how it’s bringing together a lot of different rollout elements to make a pretty complete picture.
After all, fans were already going nuts off of the track that the North Carolina MC previewed on Might Delete Later, Vol. 1. Combined with some funny moments, interesting peeps behind the curtain, and an aesthetically engaging and grounded presentation, The Fall Off couldn’t come soon enough. But J. Cole will also have a lot to prove and live up to on this new album, a space that he still feels hungry enough to chase but wise enough to treat respectfully and in a fulfilling way. Some, such as Royce Da 5’9″, think he’s the last competitive rapper in the game.
“I haven’t taken a real deep look out into the landscape,” he said on The Joe Budden Podcast. “But from where I’m sitting it looks like J. Cole the only one being competitive. He’s the only one who’s rapping with the kind of conviction that says, ‘I still value the number one spot as a lyricist.’ I see a lot of the younger generations not really hanging their hat on just the lyrical part of creativity at all. In fact, many fans wondered how this would manifest amid rumors of a team-up with Metro Boomin for future material. The producer’s old tweets about J. On the first day of March, Schoolboy Q will release his first new album in five years since 2019’s critically panned Crash Talk. The album is called Blue Lips and he announced it earlier this month. It’s the first release in what many are expecting to be a big year for his label Top Dawg Entertainment. Earlier this year a document leaked from the label claiming that nearly every single artist currently on their label and even a few new ones have music coming this year.
Schoolboy Q has taken primarily to YouTube to promote the album so far. It began earlier this week when he dropped two new tracks from the project each with their own videos. The songs are called “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” and present two very different sounds from Q. In addition to those tracks he’s also shared part one in a Vlog series. The series is called wHy not? and the first episode takes fans behind the scenes of some of the recording and promotion for Blue Lips. Check out the first episode of his new Vlog series below.
Schoolboy Q hasn’t just been working on his own music though. Late last year he popped up on Hell & Nash 2. The album was a long awaited second collaboration between The Alchemist, Conway The Machine, and Westside Gunn. He contributed a guest verse to the track “Fork In The Pot.” The track instantly became a fan favorite and currently sits as the most streamed song on the album on Spotify with nearly 900k plays.
That came a few days after Schoolboy Q found himself in hot water for standing by Kanye West. Dranke has added to the growing collection of “tripod bro” videos, giving fans a vlog in which he shows off his nighttime routine. Drizzy mixes himself a drink, takes in some art, hits the hookah, and goes swimming. The entire thing is weirdly neon giving much of the apparent lighting in his home. Furthermore, he soundtracked the entire thing with “Virginia Beach”, a track from 2023’s For All The Dogs. The tripod bro trend has gone viral in recent weeks, with male lifestyle vloggers doing “a day in the life” style content.
However, there were also layers to Drake’s vlog. He tagged Drew Walls, a lifestyle influencer who is often seen going to Target in his videos. This is seemingly another shot at Yasiim Bey, who recently said that Drake’s music is the sort of music that’s perfect for a Target run. That is what made the inclusion of the more ambient “Virginia Beach” so notable, given the recent criticism aimed at that sort of Drake track. However, as a result, fans are now clamoring for Drake to do another video, this time showing him going to Target.
Meanwhile, Drake is also dropping some big bets on major sporting events. He recently showed off a Stake betting ticket showing he had put $700,000 on Sean Strickland to beat Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297. With Stake giving 1.97 odds on Strickland, Drake will come away with $1.4M if Strickland can take down his South African rival.
It appears that Drake has learned the error of his ways. Previously, he lost $500,000 when Strickland stunned Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. Drizzy would have walked away with a cool $920K if Adesanya had won. However, Strickland pulled off what many are calling the greatest upset in UFC middleweight history. While there wasn’t a KO in Sydney, Strickland edged out a close fight to win by unanimous decision and take the middleweight belt.
When pregnancy rumors swirl on the Internet, and the subject in question doesn’t say a word about them, they’re practically impossible to dismiss. Moreover, that’s what’s been happening to Halle Bailey as of late, and her boo DDG’s Christmas vlog is something fans think provides more evidence that she might’ve given birth already. In the clip below, fans think that the cries heard at one point before someone asks for the camera to “Cut!” is their child together. It’s a bit of a stretch, but considering the quick move to cut the clip– and the fact that the video does cut right there– it’s a bit too suspicious while taking into account these rumors.
Of course, DDG and Halle Bailey haven’t really said much about these rumors other than vaguely clapping back at trolls who think they know everything. Also, Halle in particular recently thanked her “real supporters” amid this speculation, so it’s possible that she just doesn’t want to entertain people hyper-obsessed with this narrative. While there have been plenty of possible hints and valid theories, it ultimately won’t matter until they make things official– if they ever will. Maybe this is all a big misunderstanding and the couple just doesn’t know how to tell fans that their hopes won’t come to fruition.
Regardless, whether this is actually true or not, we just hope that fans eventually cool down and leave them be. Halle Bailey and DDG both unfortunately have plenty of experience responding to fans making fun of (or assumptions about) their dynamic for one reason or another. For example, the latter comically addressed jokes that his boo bought her own Christmas gifts due to their supposed wealth gap that they love to tease him over. At least they’re much better at taking things lightly and focusing on themselves than they used to be.
Meanwhile, their public outings also fueled a lot of this gossip, and people will always draw those connections even if they’re not there. Still, perhaps they are simply waiting on something big to pair this announcement with or would rather not make their family public. In his ongoing series on the platform, he’s been known to feature other rappers and give a peek behind the curtain. However, not all interactions end up being the calmest or most innocent, as NLE Choppa recently proved. While on the social media star’s series, the Memphis MC was looking quite hungrily at his chain, rubbing his hands together like some sort of movie villain. Of course, the awkward silence was quite noticeable, and the Michigan native had to try to clear the air.
“You straight?” DDG asked NLE Choppa. “Yeah I’m good, man. That chain just hard, bro,” he responded. “You got more chains than me n***a!” the former remarked. “S**t, I could have some more,” Choppa revealed. “It’s just, like, when you see somebody’s s**t you get motivated. You look at a n***a’s s**t and just want it,” he expressed, specifying that he needs something round, which is exactly like the chain in question. Then, he snatches it off of him, and the camera cuts to another scene. Given that we don’t see DDG with the chain for the rest of the video, it’s unclear if the Cottonwood 2 MC ran away with it or not.
Regardless, the “I’m Geekin” rapper is probably showing us this interaction in jest, or at least with no hard feelings. After all, if you’re not going to call someone out directly, why included that in your vlog series without further hostility? Still, it’s been kind of crazy to see him stick to his YouTube roots while also developing his rap career and other ventures. For example, Kai Cenat and Lil Yachty recently reacted to the old diss track that DDG sent out at the latter. Yachty actually gave him his flowers as a businessman, artist, and hustler, as that song ended up blowing him up online.
