Lil Uzi Vert Reveals The First Person To Visit Them After Rehab

Lil Uzi Vert has a LOT of allies in hip-hop. The rapper has been dating JT of City Girls for years and spoke about their strong relationship with Young Thug in a recent interview. Frequent collaborators like Nicki Minaj have also repeatedly come to Uzi’s defense. In a new interview with GQ, Uzi explained another meaningful relationship they’ve developed in hip-hop. Before Uzi released their massively successful new album Pink Tape they did a stint in rehab. Now they’ve revealed who they talked to every single day while in rehab, Yeat.

The up-and-coming rapper can be a bit mysterious even to fans and his music has certainly divided people. But he cites Lil Uzi Vert as a major influence and after reaching out to them, a friendship was sparked. Uzi talks about becoming a mentor to Yeat while in rehab as the pair reportedly talked almost every day. And when Uzi came home, Yeat was the first person there to greet them. The section of the article ends claiming that the pair got to recording music quickly. The pair have already released three of those collaborations. The first two popped up on the deluxe edition of Yeat’s 2022 album 2 Alive. The third is called “Flawless” and it serves as the opening track of Yeat’s album Lyfe.

Lil Uzi Vert And Yeat’s Friendship

Fans in the comment section had a lot to say about Yeat’s character. “Love him or hate him, Yeat seems like a really nice dude,” reads one of the top comments. “yeat always been a real ass dude, finna text bro rn,” agrees another. It’s yet to be seen if Yeat will appear on Lil Uzi Vert’s upcoming new album Barter 16. The project will pay tribute to Young Thug and sees Uzi working with Thugger collaborators like Birdman and London On Da Track. They even went as far as dressing up like Young Thug during a public appearance last month.

What do you think of Yeat being the first person to visit Lil Uzi when they were released from rehab? Let us know in the comment section below.

Young Thug’s Attorneys File Motion to Toss Out Video Featuring Alleged Goat Sacrifice

Young Thug’s legal representation attempts to stop prosecutors from displaying a video of a co-defendant’s arrest during the trial. According to WSB-TV, attorneys are attempting to suppress the arrest video of Shannon Stillwell.

Stillwell was arrested for murder on March 17, 2022. The arrest occurred during a religious ceremony involving the alleged sacrifice of goats. The legal team states showing that the video will only provide prejudice against Stillwell and Young Thug.

Young Thug, born Jeffrey Williams, and Stillwell are two of eight on a RICO indictment of the YOung SLime Life gang. The trial has been in jury selection since January.

According to several reports, a court hearing occurred today (July 21) in which Young Thug and his lawyers requested a bond but was once again denied. This means the 31-year-old trap rapper will remain in custody throughout the YSL RICO trial.

Thug’s lawyers argued that the alleged YSL leader’s health was suffering, stating, “This lifestyle has caused physical harm to Mr. Williams.” They also said that his prior kidney problems and food with little nutrition in jail had caused their client to gain excessive weight. The judge denied their bond motion because he stated he was concerned about Thug’s influence.

Yak Gotti’s bond motion was also denied, with the court citing that Gotti was a flight risk and mentioned an alleged physical confrontation with another inmate. His attorneys argued that Fulton County Jail staff members assaulted Gotti, but their claims were unfounded.

Rolling Loud's RAP Act Rally Draws Thousands in Support of Young Thug and 500 Unjustly Incarcerated Black Men, Joined by Black Music Action Coalition

Rolling Loud Miami kicked off its eighth annual event with a powerful panel discussion and in-festival rally in collaboration with the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) as part of Rolling Loud Week. The panel featured Rolling Loud Co-Founder Tariq Cherif, BMAC Co-Founder/Chair Willie “Prophet” Stiggers, Congressman Hank Johnson, and Congressman Jamaal Bowman, discussing the RAP Act—a vital step towards protecting artists’ free speech and creative expression in the face of legal challenges.

“This is the most powerful generation we have ever seen, and this is the biggest Hip-Hop festival in the world,” said Willie “Prophet” Stiggers, Co-Founder/Chair of BMAC. “To be able to bring messages of social and racial justice straight to the young people that will lead this nation is a very powerful tool. BMAC appreciates Rolling Loud for this partnership and support around The RAP Act. I thank Congressmen Johnson and Bowman for coming to Miami to spread this message of democracy, equity and fairness. As we celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop, we must make sure to celebrate and support those fighting to protect the culture.”

Following the panel, a RAP Act rally took place on the Rolling Loud GoPuff Stage, drawing thousands of fans in support of Young Thug and over 500 black men currently facing unjust incarceration. The event also included the presence of five TSU students who won tickets and all-expenses-paid trips through BMAC’s Music Business Accelerator Program at Tennessee State University.

Cherif, who taught a class on touring and talent buying at TSU, saw the winning students create a hypothetical “Rolling Loud Nashville” festival. Their hard work was recognized with VIP tickets and travel expenses covered by the BMAC Board/ELC. To learn more about the RAP Act or take action, you can visit the BMAC website or send an automated letter to your Congressman at RAPACT.ORG. The Rolling Loud Miami festival continues to use its platform to advocate for important social issues within the music industry.

Young Thug Was Denied Bond For A Fifth Time, Despite Numerous Delays To His Racketeering Trial

Young Thug has been awaiting trial on racketeering charges for over a year, but was once again denied bail today, making it the fifth time he was denied bond since being taken into custody on May 9, 2022. According to Rolling Stone, both Thug and his YSL signee Yak Gotti were denied bond at a hearing today despite numerous delays to the start of the trial, which was supposed to begin in January. However, jury selection has taken well over six months, during which time, Thug’s lawyers say the rapper has faced a torturous state of existence.

“Sleeping with bright lights all the time, if he can get to sleep, that is a form of torture which is not compatible with necessary restoration,” said his attorney, Brian Steel. “This lifestyle for the last 14-plus months has caused physical harm to Mr. Williams.” However, Judge Ural Glanville did not see it that way, siding with prosecutors who said Thug presents a danger to potential witnesses, citing one who claimed Thug threatened them in a prior case with a text reading, “Snitch hoes get murked. Them and their kids.”

Thug was one of 28 people indicted on 56 counts of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Since then, several defendants have accepted plea deals, pleading guilty to violating the RICO Act in exchange for their freedom, including Gunna, who has been branded a snitch by former collaborators like Lil Durk.

While the trial proper has yet to start, there have been numerous disruptions to the pretrial court proceedings YSL attorneys being arrested for bringing contraband to the courthouse to co-defendants making wild political claims. Young Thug recently released an album titled Business Is Business, but it looks like justice remains slow.

Young Thug Makes His Presence Felt In The ‘Oh U Went’ Video With Drake Despite His Ongoing Incarceration

Early this month, Young Thug and Drake reunited — on digital wax if not in real life — on Thug’s new album, Business Is Business for a pair of tracks, “Parade On Cleveland” and “Oh You Went,” continuing their longstanding chemistry. Today, they shared the video for the latter track, which makes up for the lack of Young Thug’s physical presence with a few reminders of his impact on music fans in his native Atlanta.

Of course, while Young Thug’s presence is still felt in having young fans clamor all over Drake to recite Thug’s lyrics, the Atlanta rapper remains incarcerated. He’s (still) awaiting trial on charges of racketeering and other crimes, accused by the State of being the ringleader of a criminal organization responsible for wreaking havoc throughout Atlanta.

Being locked up didn’t stop Thug from releasing new music, though — even if the music was actually kind of old. Business Is Business is largely made up of material Thug had previously recorded before being arrested last year. Some fans still couldn’t help but conjecture about whether or not he’d commented on his present standing with YSL artist Gunna, who was released after accepting a plea deal in which he admitted to being in a gang.

Business Is Business is out now via Young Stoner Life Records/300 Entertainment/Atlantic Records. Get it here.
