Yo Gotti Teams with DJ Drama to Release New Gangsta Grillz Tape ‘I Showed U So’

Yo Gotti, the Memphis native and CEO of CMG, has just dropped his latest Gangsta Grillz mixtape, I Showed U So, featuring collaborations with Moneybagg Yo and Rich Homie Quan. The 10-song mixtape with DJ Drama displays Gotti’s versatility, transitioning from gritty tracks like “Pop My Shit” to more romantic rhymes in “The One,” where he vulnerably raps about love and butterflies in his stomach.

The mixtape also reunites Gotti with Rich Homie Quan on their new collab, “Mandarin,” after their hit single “I Know” from Gotti’s acclaimed album “I Am” ten years ago.

I Showed U So is a long-awaited follow-up to Gotti’s breakthrough Gangsta Grillz project, I Told U So, released in 2006, which marked a turning point in his career. Now, 17 years later, Gotti celebrates the manifestation of his dreams and accomplishments.

The mixtape’s release follows Gotti’s “No Fake Love” single and video drop featuring Angela Simmons.

Additionally, I Showed U So marks Gotti‘s first solo release since his 11th studio album CM10: Free Game in February 2022, which achieved the highest-charting album of his career, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Notably, Gotti recently joined First Lady Dr. Jill Biden at The White House to host a Major League Soccer Youth Clinic, showcasing his involvement as co-owner of DC United, a prestigious franchise in the MLS. He also participated in various festivities around the MLS All-Star Game in Washington D.C.

Earlier this year the shoe designer confirmed that she’s happily in love with her rapper beau, dubbing him the “best man in the world.” Seeing as he’s frequently had her on his arm at red carpet events, or posed beside her for stunning couple photos in the tropics, it’s safe to say that Simmons is living the dream in love.

Their most recent baecation destination is Mykonos, Greece, where the black-haired beauty shared an Instagram post from on Friday (June 9). In the caption Simmons braggadociously wrote, “We don’t vacation, we just wake up and go places .” The carousel begins wins a beautifully captured image of her and Gotti posing on a platform at one end of a cave, her curves markedly standing out along with the beautiful view. In the next snap, we see the couple more close-up, Angela’s curves looking radiant in a bright orange bikini.

Gotti wore a matching printed set which perfectly complimented the sunset view behind them. All Yo Gotti Wants For His Birthday Is 42 Dugg Free And He’s Willing To Pay $2 Million To Get It

Collective Music Group rapper 42 Dugg was sentenced to a year in prison for failing to report for a previous sentence for carjacking and firearms possession. This situation isn’t working for CMG founder Yo Gotti. The Memphis rap mainstay was willing to pay big money to secure his artist’s release, posting a call to action on his Instagram Story. According to XXL, he wrote, “I got $2 million for any lawyer that can get Dugg out early.[That’s] what I want for my birthday #FreeDoggy”

Dugg appeared to be having a miserable time in prison as well, sharing an Instagram post of his own (perhaps through an intermediary) in which he claimed that he wasn’t being given hot water in the commissary to heat up food. “Man, I’m in this b*tch heating my food up with water from the nasty ass shower — they don’t even give us hot water to heat food up,” he asserted. “Ain’t no microwave, I can’t get no visits from my family, nothing. I’m sure they gone do some more illegal sh*t but what I ’pose to die in this b*tch for probation violation?”

Even before Dugg’s troubles, though, Gotti was working hard on prison reform. Last year, he allied with Jay-Z and Meek Mill to throw support behind a bill to prohibit the use of rap lyrics in criminal trials, and before that, he and Jay sued the Mississippi Department of Corrections over inmate rights violations, prompting the prisons’ healthcare provider to end its contract. Hopefully, their efforts will yield greater results in the future, because the prison system as it stands is pretty awful.
