It was recently reported that Atlanta rapper YFB Lucci turned down a plea deal from prosecutors in which he would have to serve 20 years behind bars. With that sort of legal assertion, either Lucci, whose real name is Rashawn Bennett, is expecting a better deal to be offered or he plans on going to trial.

Deapite his circumstances, Lucci still shows off his shiny diamond encrusted smile in a new photo from behind bars, where the rapper is sporting noticeably longer hair and a signature prison striped uniform.

YFN Lucci Rejects Deal That Would Recommend 20-Year Sentence

YFN Lucci will not accept a plea deal from Georgia prosecutors and will instead go to trial. TMZ notes Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis recommended a 20-year sentence for Lucci, 17 of which to be served in prison.

In the plea deal, Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis requested that Lucci plead guilty to charges including felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

Lucci, born Rayshawn Bennett, is represented by Drew Findling and Gabe Banks who believe the charges are “absurd” and are in custody for 2.5 years.

Additionally, YFN Lucci has chosen not to appear in the YSL case as a witness.

DJ Akademiks posted court documents showing Lucci, born Rayshawn Bennett, refused to sign a subpoena to appear in court against YSL defendants.

Lucci and Young Thug have a long-standing beef. Lucci’s attorney Drew Findling spoke to TMZ in December and stated he would not be a part of the YSL RICO case. Findling says Lucci has not been in contact with law enforcement that has any involvement in the current YSL case.

“Any party can announce, for example, that Abraham Lincoln is on their witness list, but those words alone are meaningless. So, to be 100% clear, Rayshawn Bennett (Lucci) will not be a witness in the YSL case,” Findling said.

Like Young Thug, Lucci is currently sitting in jail for a trial involving murder charges. His focus is presently on the Fulton County case.

Boosie Badazz Reacts To YFN Lucci’s Plea Deal Offer

Boosie Badazz recently shared his opinion on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis offering YFN Lucci a plea deal. Earlier today, it was revealed that the rapper has chosen to turn down the deal. This means that he’s now headed to trial to fight the RICO charges. The deal would see Lucci serve 17 years behind bars if he had accepted. He would have had to plead guilty to felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

On Instagram Live, Boosie claims that he knows Lucci doesn’t deserve the charges he’s been hit with. He explains that Lucci “goes home every night to his family,” saying that he’s “doing none of that sh*t [that he’s accused of].” Boosie also says, “it’s a bad RICO, dog.” He goes on to question statements made by a witness, claiming that they sound as though they’ve been paid.

Boosie Says Witness Sounds “Paid”

Lucci’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, told TMZ that they believe the plea deal offered was “absurd.” They also claimed the DA is prioritizing “newer, high-profile cases that have completely monopolized the Court’s resources” over Lucci’s case. The attorneys noted the DA’s “utter inability to prosecute complex cases.” Lucci has denied his charges, and now he plans to fight them. His attorneys say, “Despite the obstacles consistently placed in the way of Mr. Bennett’s constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial, we continue to be ready and prepared to defend these false allegations.”

Despite speculation that he may choose to do so, Lucci refused to testify against Young Thug amid his own RICO charges in March. Earlier this week, it was reported that Young Thug, Gunna, and Lil Baby were added to the witness list in the YFN RICO trial. Gunna has faced a massive amount of public backlash following his decision to accept a plea deal in the YSL RICO trial. Since his release from prison, he’s been dealing with rampant accusations that he “snitched” on Young Thug.

YFN Lucci Rejects 20-Year Plea Deal In Favour Of RICO Trial

It seems YFN Lucci has no interest in enduring the same taunting that Gunna’s facing since accepting a plea deal. Earlier this week, reports surfaced claiming that the accused killer was offered a 20-year agreement (17 of those in jail). As TMZ reports, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will only sign off on the deal if Lucci agrees to plead guilty to felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

Attorneys Drew Findling and Gabe Banks spoke with the outlet about Willis’ terms this weekend, calling them “absurd.” While representing their client – born
Rayshawn Bennett – the lawyers have apparently noticed the DA “intentionally dragging her feet.” Specifically, they noted that Lucci is still awaiting his trial after over two and a half years in police custody. Instead of putting her attention toward YSL and YFN, Fani is focusing her efforts on “newer, high-profile cases that have completely monopolized the Court’s resources.”

YFN Lucci is Headed to Trial

Elsewhere, Findling and Banks accused the Fulton County DA of having an “utter inability to prosecute complex cases.” While it sounds like they’ve got the odds stacked against them, Lucci’s lawyers sound confident in seeking justice for him. “Despite the obstacles consistently placed in the way of Mr. Bennett’s constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial, we continue to be ready and prepared to defend these false allegations,” they declared to TMZ.

In another report from earlier this week, it was alleged that several huge names in hip-hop will be called to the witness stand as Bennett’s case unfolds. Among them are Gunna, Lil Baby, and Young Thug, though the latter is highly unlikely to appear as his own legal proceedings are still playing out at this time. Do you think YFN Lucci will be able to make a clean break from his RICO trial? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for any updates from the ongoing case.

YFN Lucci Appears To Pour Lean In Jail

A video has surfaced that appears to show YFN Lucci pouring up lean in jail. Lucci is currently locked up at the Fulton County Jail facing RICO charges. The charges stem from a drive-by shooting that happened in January 2021. The initial shooting led to an exchange of gunfire, As a result, James Adams, who was a passenger in the car with Lucci, was shot and killed. Authorities do not believe Lucci shot Adams. However, in Georgia, if one person dies while committing a crime, that person’s accomplices are responsible for their death.

Subsequently, Lucci was charged with murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Now, the Atlanta rapper may be in trouble again. On Sunday, the Say Cheese! Twitter account posted a video that appears to show Lucci pouring up lean in his jail cell. During the brief clip, Lucci can be seen pouring liquid into two bottles. If the substance is in fact lean, this would be a major breach of jail rules. However, some Twitter users were perplexed as to how Lucci was able to get his hands on lean, to begin with. “How did he get lean?” one user asked.

YFN Lucci Could Face Additional Charges

Meanwhile, others pointed out that it may be difficult for jail staff to prove the substance was lean. “Can’t prove it’s an illegal substance just from a video,” one user said. Although It may be difficult for authorities to prove that the substance was lean Lucci will still have to explain having a cell phone. Phones are considered contraband in most jails. Therefore, anyone who brings in a phone for an inmate can face stiff punishment or even jail time. Moreover, any inmate caught with a phone runs the risk of being sent to solitary confinement and possibly additional charges.

However, any new charges would likely be a drop in the bucket for Lucci. The 32-year-old is facing the possibility of spending the rest of his life behind bars. Lucci and his associates had been under investigation for some time for their arrests. Subsequently, Lucci and 12 other men were named in a more than 100-count indictment. The men are accused of belonging to one of Atlanta’s most ruthless gangs. Ironically, Lucci is facing a similar fate as his longtime enemy Young Thug. Thugger is also facing RICO charges and the possibility of decades behind bars. Lucci’s fans will be hoping the rapper can stay out of trouble and one day see freedom again.

It looks like YFN Lucci is living his best life behind bars.

A video recently surfaced online of the Atlanta rapper pouring up lean in his jail cell, seeing Lucci recording himself pouring purple liquid into another bottle that’s labeled ginger ale. He’s then seen mixing the bottle up and grabbing a stack of styrofoam cups before the camera cuts off.

YFN Lucci is currently detained at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, awaiting trial for murder and RICO charges. Dating back to the top of 2021, a warrant was issued for Lucci’s arrest due to his connection to the shooting of James Adams, who passed away at 28 years old.

Lucci, real name Rayshawn Lamar Bennett turned himself in, consequently charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm. After posting bail, Lucci was one of the names in a sprawling, 105-count racketeering indictment focused on factions of the Bloods gang. He turned himself in in May of 2021 and attempted to post bail again, but the judge denied it.

Last year in February, Lucci was stabbed by a fellow inmate while behind bars. Allegedly, two YSL associates were behind the attack. Even so, Lucci posted to his Instagram last month that he would not testify against Young Thug. He wrote, “Even in a earthquake we wouldn’t break n-gga know we solid #Free650.”

Lucci’s lawyer continues to claim his innocence. He tells WSB-TV, “He’s not a gang member. What he is is an internationally recognized musical artist that is a triple platinum winner, that has performed all over the United States and all over the world.”

Lucci is best known for hit singles “Wet,” “At My Best,” “Everyday We Lit” with PnB Rock, and more.
