Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Credits Include Frank Ocean, DJ Screw, BNYX & Many More

For All The Dogs is finally out, and people have been sinking their teeth into it pretty deeply for the past couple of hours. As such, we now have a pretty good idea of the album’s key players: who Drake tapped behind the scenes, who’s on production, who had a hand in the writing, and so on. Interestingly enough, perhaps the most curious inclusion on the BTS FATD team is Kevin Durant as the project’s A&R. Of course, most people are more concerned with the actual song credits and the like. With that in mind, here’s a brief rundown of some notable inclusions and surprises on these tracks.

For starters, the opening track “Virginia Beach” contains a sample of Frank Ocean’s “Wiseman,” a song from around 2011-2012 that never saw an official release, so he appears as a writer on this song. “Amen” has background vocals from Monique Avant in addition to the Teezo Touchdown feature, and “Calling For You” with 21 S*vage was produced by Lil Yachty, 40, Cash Cobain, and a few others. “Fear of Heights” is one of many BNYX productions on this Drake album, which also include “IDGAF” with Yeat, “7969 Santa,” “All The Parties” with Chief Keef, and more.

Furthermore, Southside produced “Daylight” and features Drake’s son Adonis rapping. The J. Cole collab “First Person Shooter” contains production from a super-team: Tay Keith, OZ, Vinylz, Coleman, Boi-1da, and FNZ. “7969 Santa” has a wonderful and fitting Snoop Dogg outro, and “Tried Our Best” has Ty Dolla $ign assisting on vocals. Also, the “Screw The World” interlude is an homage to the legendary DJ Screw, and is actually a cover of Nas’ “If I Ruled The World.” Yachty also produced “What Would Pluto Do,” and the “BBL Love” interlude features guest vocals from soul icon Sade, as well.

Meanwhile, the Bad Bunny collab “Gently” features Gordo (formerly known as Carnage) on production, who helped with Honestly Nevermind. “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sexyy Red and SZA interpolates “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine, and SADPONY assisted with production on “Away From Home.” Finally, JeRonelle has uncredited (as a feature) vocals on a couple of tracks on For All The Dogs, including its closer “Polar Opposites.” We’re sure we missed a lot, so let us know what your favorite tracks and credit placements were in the comments. Cardi B Clears Up Her Comments On Hip-Hop’s Origin & On Needing Writers

Cardi B’s gotten her fair share of flack for her place within hip-hop, whether those conversations are legitimate or purely speculative. For example, many take issue with her requesting assistance in writing her material, which doesn’t fit the authentic and personal rap formula. Another big point of contention came up at the 2023 MTV VMAs, where she stood by the Bronx as the genre’s origin and people thought she was personally appropriating that accolade. These topics stir up a lot of conversation online, and the 30-year-old often jumps in to address them. This time around, it was on The Neighborhood Talk‘s Instagram page’s comments section, and she came to set the record straight.

“Ya just be wanting to disagree with everything I say but facts are facts like google it,” Cardi B wrote. “Where did hip-hop start at.. THE BRONX!!! Where I’m from? Not the Caribbean island hip-hop came from talking about the struggle and thats something I def lived so how that’s not my culture??? How can you tell me what I do or what I lived.. culture is literally the environment of what you came up in.”

Cardi B Clarifies Her Comments On The Bronx Birthing Hip-Hop

Elsewhere in another post, the proud Bronx native tied these comments into the perception that she’s less valid as an MC because of other writers being on her tracks. “I started music before LHH and wrote about MY struggles and life as a dancer,” Cardi B expressed. “Go listen to them mixtapes. Also, I went to school for musical theatre and technology.. just because somebody might help me with a hook means nothing. Look at all ya fav artists credits they all do receive some type of help.”

The Bronx Native Speaks On Rappers Having Writers

Meanwhile, that’s not the only criticisms that she responded to this week. The “Bongos” hitmaker thinks that Joe Budden has a personal problem with her, as shown by his critique of her latest single with Megan Thee Stallion. Although the rapper and media personality said that people took his words too far when reporting on them, he stood by his thoughts. Hollywood Writer Says AI Can’t Write Hit Movies

Over the past few weeks, the Writer’s Guild Of America (WGA) has been on strike. They’ve been battling with the powers that be over their futures regarding the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Established screenwriter, Jim Herzfeld, famous for “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers” had some choice words on whether or not AI can take his job in Hollywood. TMZ caught up with Herzfeld in the picket line and asked about his thoughts on AI infiltrating Hollywood and the rest of the writing industry. When asked on if there should be a hard stance within writer’s contracts Jim Herzfeld had this to say.

“No one has a crystal ball,” the writer began. “No one knows, so that’s why we have to have it in our contracts.” Jim Herzfeld mentioned that in ’07-’08 the WGA had to fight about their futures concerning the emergence of the internet. Later Herzfeld was asked on what the stance should be concerning AI and writers. However, he kept it brief saying that the terms were already laid out to the networks. “Anything that started with a writer that was then run through AI to be fleshed out or whatever, then we have to get credit for that.”

Jim Herzfeld Sounds Off On AI’s In Hollywood

The Hollywood writers’ strike broke out this week over pay, but the refusal of studios like Netflix and Disney to rule out artificial intelligence replacing human scribes in the future has only fueled anger and fear on the picket lines. With their rapidly advancing ability to eerily mimic human conversation, AI programs like ChatGPT have spooked many industries recently. While Jim was sharing his thoughts with the gossip blog, he sounded pretty confident about the safety of his job. Not only that he made note that simply prompting new writing AI ChatGPT could get the job done. However, he quickly said that it was never going to work. “You need a human to come up with the idea,” Jim Herzfeld told TMZ. He told the publication that AI isn’t developed enough to do what the thousands of writers that help produce our favorite movies and shows do.

Hopefully, the strike can come to an end soon and writers can come to a suitable agreement with the networks. Do you think AI will take over Hollywood? What will the future for writers look like down the road in all industries? Let the HNHH staff know what you think below!

“Ant-Man 3” Writer Reacts To Film’s Bad Reviews, Said They Left Him “Really Sad”

Whether you’re a Marvel fan or not, you have to admit that the films draw in plenty of intrigue at the box office. Most recently, the third flick in the Ant-Man franchise, Quantumania, made its theatre debut, and so far, reactions have been mixed. The Paul Rudd-led project scored just 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, putting it just ahead of Eternals as one of the MCU’s lowest-rated releases of all time.

The outlet spoke with screenwriter Jeff Loveness, who had the responsibility of crafting Ant-Man’s most ambitious storyline to date. Apparently, he wasn’t at all expecting to see a 69% drop at the box office during Quantumania‘s second weekend, or so many unfavourable reactions. “To be honest, those reviews took me by surprise,” he told The Daily Beast.

Ant-Man 3 Misses the Mark for Some

“I was in a pretty low spot… Those were not good reviews, and I was like, ‘What the..?’ Loveness confessed. “I’m really proud of what I wrote for Jonathan [Majors] and Michelle Pfeiffer [scientist Janet Pym]. I thought that was good stuff, you know? And so I was just despondent, and I was really sad about it.” While he was sad over the internet discourse, attending an in-person screening of Ant-Man 3 helped turn the writer’s mood around.

For him, hearing other audience members laughing at the jokes he crafted felt amazing. “I’m like, ‘Goddamn! No, [the reviews] are wrong! I’m right! MODOK is great!” he gushed earlier this month. “I’m pretty happy with it overall,” Loveness said of his Marvel debut. “I think I learned how to take a punch this week. And now that I learned that it’s not too bad, I can just get on with making things.”

What’s Next for the MCU?

Prior to Ant-Man 3, the MCU took us back to Wakanda in Black Panther 2. Next up, we’ll be getting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 this May, and The Marvels in November. 2024 is also set to be a big year, with Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, and Blade all arriving from the months of May to September to complete phase five. Which of Marvel’s upcoming movies are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
