Drake Issues Apparent Response To “We Still Don’t Trust You” Drama

There’s been plenty of shade thrown Drake’s way as of late, leaving fans and critics alike anxious to hear a response. For the most part, however, Drizzy has kept quiet. It all started when Future and Metro Boomin dropped their collaborative album We Don’t Trust You last month, and teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for “Like That.” Kendrick’s verse quickly went viral, as he took various shots at both Drake and J. Cole.

Yesterday, Future and Metro dropped the second part of the project, We Still Don’t Trust You. As expected, it also seems to feature several jabs at Drake, this time from The Weeknd and ASAP Rocky. In a bizarre turn of events, J. Cole also appears on the album, leading some listeners to accuse him of betraying his “First Person Shooter” collaborator.

Drake Pokes Fun At Drama

Of course, J. Cole had previously released a Kendrick diss track called “7 Minute Drill,” which appeared on his surprise album Might Delete Later. He’s since stayed true to his word, apologizing and deleting the song from all streaming services. The whole debacle has social media users more curious than ever to hear what Drake has to say, and he knows it. In fact, he recently hopped on his Instagram Story to poke fun at the ordeal, sharing a meme about his potential reaction.

While it remains unclear whether or not Drake plans to respond with a track of his own, he’s made it clear that he’s completely tuned in to all the chaos unfolding. ASAP Rocky Credits Drake For Putting Him On In Resurfaced Clip Amid Feud

A clip of ASAP Rocky saying that he’s eternally grateful to Drake for putting him on is resurfacing after he dissed the Toronto rapper on Future and Metro Boomin’s second collaborative studio album, We Still Don’t Trust You. The comments seem to stem from a radio interview early in Rocky’s career. He says: “I forever owe Drake. The only person to put on for me when I ain’t had nobody was Drake. I’m talking like Drake was the first person to put on before anybody. He didn’t want to sign me.” He added that Drake recognized his “raw talent.”

When Complex shared the clip on Instagram, fans took both sides in the feud. One of Drake’s supporters wrote: “Drake really all these rapper’s Dad. Now his kids throwing a tantrum.” A fan of Rocky commented: “Drake throws shots all the time and when these guys throw shots back, OVO and the fanboys start crying.”

Metro Boomin Shared A Visual For ‘All My Life,’ Which Further Proves He Must Never Sleep

Future and Metro Boomin are on a heater. We Don’t Trust You, their collaborative studio album that dropped on March 22, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Future and Metro Boomin followed that up with We Still Don’t Trust You, a “completely separate body of work” that’s all but guaranteed to also debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Between the two, Future and Metro Boomin have released 42 songs in three weeks.

Still, Metro Boomin won’t rest.

On Friday evening, April 12, Metro a 65-second visual for “All My Life” featuring Lil Baby — one of 25 tracks from We Still Don’t Trust You. The behind-the-scenes video hits all the appropriate notes for a behind-the-scenes video.

There are various shots of luxurious cars, including but not limited to a Tesla Cybertruck. While someone is lighting up in the studio, Future can’t stop vibing to his own “All My Life” bars about selling out Madison Square Garden while his peers can only sell out Barclays Center, flying to Japan, taking a Xanax (“I’m so f*ckin’ high, I can’t even see straight”), and “Ballin’ on this sh*t like Johnny Manziel.”

Future & Metro Boomin Sample Charlamagne Tha God’s Praise On “We Still Don’t Trust You”

Today, Future and Metro Boomin dropped their eagerly awaited new album, We Still Don’t Trust You. The LP follows the duo’s first collaborative album We Don’t Trust You, which they unveiled just last month. Kendrick Lamar’s appearance on “Like That” quickly went viral, as the MC dissed Drake and J. Cole. In his verse, he references “the big three,” which is commonly believed to be him, Drizzy, and Cole. “Motherf*ck the big three, n***a, it’s just big me,” he spits. Earlier this week, Charlamagne Tha God shared his own thoughts on the big three, revealing that he thinks Future deserves a spot too.

According to him, he’s one of the most influential rappers of the past decade and surpasses J. Cole easily. “They talking about a Big Three but really there’s a Fantastic Four. If you really wanna get a little spicy, Future could be in the Big Three,” he explained in an episode of Brilliant Idiots. “For better or worse, I can find a million Future clones all around the world. I don’t think there’s any rapper that’s influenced culture and music more than Future over the last decade. I think Future has influence. People wanna be Future, people wanna sound like Future.”

Future & Metro Boomin Unleash We Still Don’t Trust You

“I would have Drake, Future, Kendrick, personally,” he also added. “Statistically, if you’re talking about numbers and all of that, Future’s over Cole.” It looks like he appreciated the praise. He even used a sample of Charlamagne’s compliment for the new album. The Breakfast Club host’s voice appears on the track “#1 (Intro).”

Boosie Badazz Issues Warning About Rap Beef: “The Truth Hurts”

Social media has been flooded with talk about rap beef lately, and according to Boosie Badazz, it needs to stop. Future and Metro Boomin dropped their anxiously awaited new LP We Still Don’t Trust You today, complete with features from The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, and even J. Cole. Of course, it’s speculated that Drake was dissed on the album various times, and fans continue to hope for a response.

Boosie must have caught wind of the shade, or another rap feud, as he recently hopped on Twitter/X to weigh in. In his post, he called out fans for celebrating beef. He argues that someone could get seriously hurt, and if they do, fans will be nowhere in sight. “EVERYBODY GASSING UP RAP BEEF SMH ALL EXCITED SAYING THIS HIP HOP,” he began. “WELL EVERYONE N THE CREW NOT GO SEE IT THAT WAY . N WHEN IT POP OFF ‘IT REALLY GOES DOWN.’ SO WHEN SOMEONE FROM ONE OF THESE CREWS DIE, DONT SAY THEY ST*PID SMH GO SUPPORT THEM N COURT LIKE YALL SUPPORTED THE RAP BEEF.”

According to him, however, it’s important not to judge a book by its cover.

“THE TRUTH HURTS,” he also adds. What do you think of Boosie Badazz’s recent message about rap beef? Do you agree with him or is he overreacting? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

DJ Akademiks, Kai Cenat, And Adin Ross React To Future & Metro Boomin’s New Album

Today, Future and Metro Boomin finally unleashed the eagerly anticipated sequel to their joint album, We Don’t Trust You. The new project, fittingly dubbed We Still Don’t Trust You, has already elicited countless responses from the artists’ fans and peers. One of the most notable talking points of the album is J. Cole’s surprise feature, as he was seemingly dissed on Kendrick Lamar’s viral verse on the first installment.

Many saw this as a major betrayal to Drake, whom Kendrick also went after on his feature. The Weeknd and ASAP Rocky appear on the album too, and are rumored to have even thrown a few jabs at Drizzy. Among the first to share their reactions were DJ Akademiks, Kai Cenat, and Adin Ross, and they didn’t hold back in the slightest.

Adin Ross Reminds ASAP Rocky He Hasn’t Dropped Since 2018

Adin Ross reacted to ASAP Rocky’s apparent Drake diss on “Show Of Hands,” and had some notes for the rapper. According to him, he’s a big fan of ASAP, but doesn’t think his suggestion that For All The Dogs “came and went” was fair. “You haven’t even dropped since 2018,” the streamer explained, defending Drake for consistently releasing music.

As for Kai Cenat, he was blown away by J. Cole’s unexpected feature, dropping to his knees almost immediately. “Oh my god it was their plan all along,” he said, “What the f*ck?” DJ Akademiks had a similar reaction. “I can’t believe it,” he explained. “You don’t know Drake is in a fight for his life?”

Future & J. Cole Give Opposite Perspectives On Relationships On Metro Boomin’s “Red Leather”

Future and Metro Boomin have just fed fans for the next year and then some over the past three weeks. Both artists are showing why they are still some of the best that the genre has to offer. WE DON’T TRUST YOU was an explosive, cavernous and reserved take on trap. Its sequel, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, focuses more on the melodic R&B side of things. If you think about it, these new albums had a similar rollout schedule and style switch like FUTURE and HNDRXX did in 2017. Outside of the sheer number songs in this short period, the collaborations they have brought are contributing to the excitement. One of those is Metro, Future, and J. Cole being on “Red Leather.”

This team-up is enticing for a few reasons. Of course, the idea of Cole, Metro and Future being on a song together was something that no one saw coming. On top that, it adds to all the wild storylines surrounding these two projects. But separating “Red Leather” from the latter, how does this song actually sound? For us this a great track that has a lot of layers when you really dissect it.

Listen To “Red Leather” By Metro Boomin, Future, & J. Cole

It is especially interesting from Cole’s perspective. Sure, he does talk about the apology and “7 Minute Drill” for a brief moment, but the entire verse is sort of a metaphor for almost falling victim to doing things that are deemed as cool, such as dissing Kendrick which he clearly was not comfortable with. However, Cole goes about it from talking about not becoming involved with multiple women like so many rappers do. In fact, Future raps about exactly that, as he is known for dealing with several partners at once. Cole sort of acknowledges how clever this approach is too, “My story’s more clever, my similes was better.” Of course, this is just how we viewed his verse, but it does make sense when you think about it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Red Leather” by Metro Boomin, Future, and J. Cole? Is this the best song from WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Do you enjoy when Future gets into his more melodic and personal bag? Is this Cole’s best performance of 2024, why or why not? How do you feel about Cole readdressing the apology and “7 Minute Drill?” We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. What Did Drake Say To ASAP Rocky Before The ‘Show Of Hands’ Diss?

Drake’s got some “F*ckin’ Problems” lately. His most immediate appears to be that half the rappers who appeared with him on that song in 2013 seem to hate him now — or at least, that’s rap kayfabe these days. Drake’s feud with Kendrick has turned into a full-blown ambush, with ASAP Rocky and The Weeknd joining the festivities on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album We Still Don’t Trust You. Drake’s the Toranaga of hip-hop’s version of Shogun and at this point, it looks like Future is Kazunari, leading the rest of the regents against him.

However, unlike the Japanese feudal lord in that show, it could be argued that Drake’s brought a lot of this on himself. For instance, ASAP Rocky probably wouldn’t have thrown shots in his “Show My Hands” verse had Drake left well enough alone on his most recent album, For All The Dogs. In multiple songs — “Fear Of Heights,” “Virginia Beach,” and “Another Late Night” — he makes subtle references to his prior relationship with Rihanna and drops digs at Rocky for ending up with her in the end. Rihanna and Rocky share two children together and have been rumored to be either engaged or married for the past year. Drake also seemingly alluded to Rihanna during his tour for the album earlier this year.

On “Fear Of Heights,” Drake sings, “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? / That could never be / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better it’s not me / I’m anti, I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average with you / Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you / Okay, I’m auntie like your daddy sister / Auntie like a family picture / And I had way badder b*tches than you, TBH / Yeah, that man, he still with you, he can’t leave you / Y’all go on vacation, I bet it’s Antilles.” Which… come on, man. Do better.

It was all good just a couple of years ago, too. Drake was popping out at ASAP Rocky’s shows in 2019 and gifting him $150k chains in 2020. However, after Rihanna and Rocky went public with their relationship in 2022, Drake unfollowed the pair on Instagram, passive-aggressive millennials’ official signal that “we can’t be friends.” And Drake is nothing if not passive-aggressive.

Rocky appeared to hit back at Drake earlier this year as well, with fans interpreting lines from his verse on Kid Cudi’s album as shots at the Canadian certified lover boy. If 2 Chainz comes out of the woodwork to smoke his “No Lie” collaborator too, Drake’s going to need an intervention. Maybe Post Malone or somebody can be his John Blackthorne.

J. Cole Being On “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU” Is Viewed As Him Double-Crossing Drake By Fans

Once again, Metro Boomin and Future have stirred the pot. They have been the ones who helped kick off piling on Drake and now they are adding more fuel to the fire. Kendrick Lamar sent some serious warning shots on “Like That,” but that was all the hating on Drizzy from WE DON’T TRUST YOU. The project’s sequel on the other hand, has turned things up notch. The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky took the time to get some things off their chest on “All to Myself” and “Show of Hands.” But some fans feel that J. Cole is also hopping on the Drake hate train with his out-of-nowhere feature on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU.

He appears on the the last track from the first disc called “Red Leather.” On it, Cole further addresses the creation of “7 Minute Drill,” as well as his apology. “My energy was never on some toughest n**** s*** / I was just a conscious rapper that would f*** a n**** b****.” So, there were no shots fired at Drake on this cut. But the mere fact that he would go onto Drake supposed enemies’ record is why the community sees this as a form of betrayal rather than an exciting opportunity for Cole.

Fans’ Hilarious Memes For J. Cole Appearing On WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU

Twitter users have become comedians since this all animosity toward Drizzy started about three weeks ago and today has been no different. HipHopDX found some incredibly funny memes and tweets surrounding Cole changing up on The Boy. Things have also seemingly been awkward for the “First Person Shooter” collaborators ever since the apology. There were some rumblings that Drake was going to perform at Dreamville Fest earlier this month. But according to a recent episode of Rory & Mal, the latter of the co-hosts asked Drake if he would be going, and the response was anything but confident. “‘I don’t know, should I? ‘Cause it’s weird right now. Are we performing the record? Can we ever perform ‘First Person Shooter’?’”

What are your thoughts on J. Cole “switching up on Drake” for being a feature on Metro Boomin and Future’s WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU? Do you think Drake will respond negatively or indifferently to this, why or why not? Outside of the “controversy” are you enjoying “Red Leather?” We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. What Did ASAP Rocky Say About Drake On Future And Metro Boomin’s New Album?

Over the past few weeks, Drake has essentially become hip-hop’s punching bag. It started when Kendrick Lamar dissed him on “Like That,” from Future and Metro Boomin’s album We Don’t Trust You. Future and Metro have another new album, We Still Don’t Trust You, and it looks he’s taking more shots there, too. The Weeknd seemingly dissed him on the album, and it appears ASAP Rocky did the same.

On “Show Of Hands,” Rocky says (via Genius):

“N****s swear they b*tch the baddest, I just bagged the worst one
N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’?
I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son
Still don’ trust you, it’s always us, never them
Heard you dropped your latest sh*t
Funny how it just came and went (Ha-ha-ha).”

The verse appears to reference Rocky having a sexual encounter with Sophie Brussaux, the mother of Drake’s son Adonis. The last two lines also seem to be taking a dig at Drake’s album For All The Dogs.

Drake has so far not explicitly responded to any of the recent disses he’s faced, except perhaps via cryptic messages.

Listen to “Show Of Hands” above.
