Ye and Ty Dolla Sign have been promising Vultures 2 for quite some time now. Unfortunately, the album has yet to be released. Overall, fans aren’t so sure what is happening with the album. After all, it was supposed to drop on March 8th. Now, we are almost a month later, and the project has no signs of being released. Instead, we got a weak Rolling Loud performance that didn’t offer much in terms of new songs. At this point, fans are starting to lose hope. Although the listening parties were holding things together, it seems as though those have now been canceled.
In a new report from Billboard, it was revealed that Ye and Ty Dolla Sign will no longer be performing their already-scheduled listening parties. For now, the listening event in Egypt on April 21st still seems to be on tap. However, numerous arenas around the United States have updated the status of their shows. For instance, Amelie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida has made it clear that the show is no longer happening. As the arena explained, it seems to be a logistical issue.
“We regret to report that due to the time constraints for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign to curate production and meet logistic requirements, the upcoming dates for the VULTURES 1&2 listening experience will need to be revisited at a later date,” Amelie Arena explained. Hopefully, the shows will be rescheduled soon. After all, it would be a shame if fans never got to see these shows as planned. Only time will tell whether or not Vultures 2 is truly on the horizon.

Fans have been impatiently waiting for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign to drop the second installment in the VULTURES trilogy. We got the first entry back on February 10 with tracks like “CARNIVAL,” as well as “BURN” being standout moments. After the duo did a pretty good job at following their release schedule, most were not all that surprised when VULTURES 2 was nowhere to be seen on March 8. With that in mind, most will be not shocked to know that Ye and Ty have just canceled the VULTURES 1 & 2 listening experiences.
Earlier today, the recording duo announced six new venues for VULTURES listening experiences. The cities that were going to play host were Washington DC, Nashville, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, Pittsburgh, and Charlotte. Unfortunately, that excitement has been short lived. According to HipHopDX, all of the shows for the aforementioned locations have been taken off Ye’s Ticketmaster webpage.
Additionally, they also reported that the Florida sites posted on their Instagram accounts, revealing the cancelations. The Amalie Arena and Amerant Bank Arena accounts said, “We regret to report that due to the time constraints for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign to curate production and meet logistic requirements, the upcoming dates for the VULTURES 1&2 listening experience will need to be revisited at a later date.” Ye nor Ty have spoken out about this as of yet.
What are your thoughts on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign canceling all of the recent VULTURES 1 & 2 listening experiences? Does this surprise you at all, why or why not? When do you think VULTURES 2 will drop? Is this first installment still in your rotation? Should they reschedule any of these shows? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign have eyed Egypt for their next Vultures experience. The two have announced an event for April 20 at the Step Pyramid of Djoser in the desert of Saqqara, Egypt. Tickets are currently on sale.
Ye’s friend and frequent collaborator Travis Scott attempted to perform a show in Egypt ahead of the release of UTOPIA. That didn’t go as planned. You can read more about it here.
Earlier this month, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Their collaborative, stadium-sounding anthem, “Carnival,” featuring Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, hit No. 1.
“Carnival” now makes Ye the first rap artist to have a No. 1 in three decades (the 2000s, ‘10s and ‘20s).
According to Luminate, “Carnival” secured the 1,165th No. 1 spot in the 65-year history of the Hot 100. It amassed 33.7 million streams (up 4%), garnered 3.9 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 85%), and sold 3,000 downloads (up 15%) during the tracking week of March 1-7.
With “Carnival,” Ye claims his fifth Hot 100 chart-topper, following hits like Katy Perry’s “E.T.” (featuring Ye), which spent five weeks at No. 1 starting in April 2011, among others. Ty Dolla $ign previously led the Hot 100 for a week in June 2018 as featured on Post Malone’s “Psycho.”
It is the first No. 1 record for Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti.
Additionally, “Carnival” maintains its reign for a second week atop both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts, utilizing a similar multimetric methodology as the Hot 100.
Kanye West has always been a visionary when it comes to his music. Overall, he is also a pioneer in how he delivers his music to the masses. A great contemporary example of this is what he did with the Donda live listening parties. These were streamed on Apple Music and gave listeners a glimpse into his process as he attempted to perfect the album. Subsequently, he is doing the same thing with Vultures, although he is substituting a tour for these unique listening party experiences. He is trying to go all the way around the world, and his next location may take some by surprise.
As Ye revealed in his latest Instagram post, he will be taking his talents to Saqqara, Egypt. This new listening party will take place on April 20th of this year, which is exactly one month from now. Moreover, the show will take place in front of the Pyramid of Djoser which is an infamous step pyramid. This is all extremely cool and it will serve as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some fans. However, these kinds of performances can sometimes draw the anger of locals who see the pyramids as sacred ground. That said, exert caution if you plan on buying tickets to the show.
Vultures 2 has yet to be released, although it is being pegged for May 3rd. With that in mind, this new listening party could very well have some Vultures 2 tracks on the itinerary. No matter what, there is going to be a lot of attention on this event. Only time will tell whether or not Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign will allow it to live up to the hype.
Let us know if this is a listening party that you would want to attend, in the comments section down below. How could Kanye be able to one-up himself next time? Ye’s (the artist formally known as Kanye West) out-of-the-box thinking has been a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it has made the “Carnival” musician a decorated, highly-revered producer in rap. By the same token, it has cost him several relationships with brands and fellow recording artists.
Even still, his latest collaboration album, Vultures 1, with Ty Dolla Sign, has achieved massive feats on the music charts. In a now-deleted interview with Big Boy TV, Ye spoke about the business end of recording the project. While chatting with host Big Boy, he stressed the duo’s decision to take the direct-to-consumer route, influencing the project’s budget.
However, when Ye outlined the line items of Vulture 1’s expenses (which, of course, have a designated affordance for strippers, amongst other things), viewers couldn’t help but find the humor in the creative demands.
“A part of the reason why it’s so much better; obviously, we have super mega talents, but it costs a lot to make this album too,” he said. “We were in Saudi [Arabia] and Italy. Flights, car service, and strippers… you know it was expensive.”
Big Boy sarcastically added without missing a beat: “You gotta have that. It’s the lifestyle.”
Vultures 2 is currently in the works. As of today (March 16), it is unclear when fans should expect it.
After speaking on his relationship with Adin Ross, Ye is entering the circle of another, even more massive streamer: Kai Cenat. But unfortunately for both, it seems like things got off on the wrong foot in a way that might not resolve easily. Moreover, the Chicago artist and his team apparently sent the Bronx native a pack of free VULTURES merchandise, which he was very grateful for and appreciative of. However, he did point out that the sweatpants that they sent him were too large, albeit in quite the animated way. Then, it seems like, the “BURN” MC was not happy at all with this assessment.
“Don’t make no jokes about my clothes,” Ye wrote to Kai Cenat in an Instagram DM that he then shared on his IG Story. “When you ain’t saying nothing about what adidas is doing. When Vultures song came out you ain’t play my verse. You controlled. Don’t play with me.” “wtf I do ?” Kai responded, and the response he got was the clip of him complaining about the size of the pants. “The sweats didn’t fit would you like to hop on a call to explain? I reacted to your verse btw,” the 22-year-old responded. “I ain’t hopping no calls,” the Yeezy mogul clapped back. “You ain’t say nothing about adidas. But you making jokes about my s**t after these people tried to destroy and I’m pulling up out the dirt.”
“I hear you bro but ain’t no jokes was being said when I first opened up that package I showed love instantly,” Kai Cenat replied. “All I did was try on the sweats and it didn’t fit. No jokes made. I immediately asked for a new pair.” “So you ain’t do nothing wrong?” Ye asked him. “So I felt this way for no reason?” “YES,” Cenat responded bluntly. “F**k you n***a,” the VULTURES 2artist remarked. “You was told to diss my s**t. You a pawn.” “Keep it family friendly no cursing,” the Twitch giant responded. “The pants Don’t Fit YE. You think someone told me something ? I’ll prove you wrong. AHHHH FUCK ADIDASS AHHHHH.”
Then, Kai Cenat got a call from Ye’s manager, John Monopoly. They basically got to know each other a little bit, with Monopoly advocating for a peaceful resolution to this where they can understand each other and offering to be in New York ASAP to meet the streamer personally. While the young social media star was hesitant to meet so quickly, he did reciprocate the sentiment and remark that he will reflect the same energy that they give him. If you want to see his full reaction to all of this (and these messages in real time), check it out here. For more on Ye and Kai Cenat, stick around on HNHH.
Kanye West is an artist who’s always been able to see the value of a great performance. His career is full of legendary on-stage moments from his rendition of “Hey Mama” honoring his late mother at the 50th Grammys, to him and Jay-Z unpacking a Watch The Throne classic 12 times in a row in Paris, to his brief rekindling with Drake for a special Larry Hoover Benefit show. In the past 10 years of his career, however, he’s become a fan of the listening party.
But despite assumptions the iconic moments haven’t slowed down a bit since. The unveiling of his Yeezy Season 3 collection alongside the debuting of material from The Life Of Pablo is one of the most recognizable moments of his career. A few years later he captivated fans all over again with a trio of DONDA listening experiences preceding the album’s release. Fans watched early material transform over time and shared in the surprise as artists like DaBaby and Marilyn Manson appeared. All of that is to say that a special VULTURES listening party at Rolling Loud Los Angeles was rife with potential to be his next legendary moment. Despite all of that potential, West delivered a night that won’t exactly enter the textbooks of rap history.
Kanye West’s Underwhelming Evening
To start, many of the fans in attendance were fully expecting a performance instead of just a listening party. Rolling Loud itself didn’t exactly build up expectations for a live performance, but they were also careful about their wording. “Vultures headlining,” and “Vultures live” were used to describe the set. For fans paying attention to West’s recent run of shows it was easy to connect the dots, but it’s clear that many others came in expecting a more conventional concert.
Those disappointed fans got the chance to express themselves in the comments of a Rolling Loud post about the show. Underneath pictures of the duo on-stage attendees shared their thoughts. “I’m grateful to see Kanye Live but this was probably his worst performance ever” one of the top comments on the post reads. “This should’ve just been a Fortnite concert” another agrees.
The bulk of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “VULTURES” show was similar to many of the other recent listening parties. It got underway around 40 minutes after the scheduled start time, which felt early by West’s standards. The pair made the long walk onto a stage in the center of the crowd sporting ski masks and black jackets. The stage itself sat underneath a dome-like pair of crisscrossing beams. They served as overhead lighting throughout the performance while massive smoke machines covered all the artists on stage in a thick mist.
As you’d expect, the listening party was a star-studded affair. Among the least surprising guests was North West, who brought a group of friends along sporting matching Vultures shirts to dance to her now beloved guest verse on “TALKING.” Despite being an expected addition the adorable moment was undeniably one of the highlights of the night. YG was also there which was unsurprising as he’s performing at the festival alongside Tyga at the festival on Friday.
A High-Profile Guest List
Throughout the night numerous guests joined. Freddie Gibbs marked the first surprise appearance of the night and fans erupted when he came on stage to mime his standout verse on “BACK TO ME.” Additionally Quavo, Rich The Kid, and Bump J were all in attendance for their appearances on various VULTURES cuts. Though the crowd was excited as guests emerged on stage, the allure of seeing a surprise collaborative performance didn’t quite transition into a listening party.
As the set went on, more and more attendees appeared to realize that they weren’t there for a performance. Compared to viral videos showing seas of hyped crowds at Rolling Loud the demeanor of the audience felt stuck in a permanent state of anticipation. Throughout the night the DJ pulled a classic live performance move and cut out memorable refrains from various songs to let the audience’s singing take over. But it was impossible not to notice throughout the night that the enthusiasm was fading.
A Series Of Unfortunate Teases
West and Ty left the stage after around 40 minutes with their performance failing to reach the 9:30 time promised despite getting off to a late start. Around 30 minutes into their set, in full view of the crowd, the pair both dramatically removed their masks and headgear on stage. It would have been the absolute perfect time for them to pick up a microphone and surprise the crowd with an actual performance. But it never came to be and the pair departed the stage after playing shortened versions of every song from VULTURES 1 and the previously debuted Backstreet Boys-sampling “EVERYBODY.”
What followed was unfortunately the crystalizing moment of the entire evening. Following a 5 minute interlude where fans waited in bulk for some kind of encore, the crowd erupted in cheers as “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” came on over the speakers. The expectation of the audience was clear, West would come back out and finish his set with a few classics, but that never happened. As one hit after another came on over the speakers, “Flashing Lights,” “Runaway,” “Fade,” and more, fans slowly realized that the show was over.
One of the most fascinating features of Rolling Loud’s main stage is that planes fly shockingly low overhead as they land at LAX. It happened throughout the night and fans repeatedly pointed their cameras at the passing aircraft in bulk as they soared by. Around 10 songs deep into the DJs set following West’s exit the Watch The Throne classic “Otis” came on the speakers. Just as the song shifted into the intense final verse yet another plane passed overhead, shortly followed by West’s lyric “Can’t you see the private jets flying over you.” Had he been performing the track live, the moment could have been yet another instantly timeless entry into Kanye West’s career. Instead fans were left with the perfect lasting image of the VULTURES Rolling Loud set. Watching an accidentally brilliant moment fall short of its potential as more and more of the fans in attendance began shuffling away from the empty stage towards the exit.
In celebrating his new No. 1 single, Kanye West has a run of “fuck you” for his various enemies. Of those are Drake and Adidas.
In the lengthy Instagram caption, Ye wrote: “Rich Ty Carti and the supporters that stood by us through everything This number #1 is for you. It’s for the people who won’t be manipulated by the system and fuck adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at adidas.”
Later on, he shot at Drake for bringing Lil Durk on tour: “And it’s fuck Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out.”
In response, Drake hit Instagram to fire off a response, letting a 50 Cent meme speak for him.
