Travis Scott’s UTOPIA show was placed on hold but he vows that it will happen. After the cancellation notice went out, Travis issued a follow-up tweet.

“Egypt at the pyramids will happen,” Travis wrote. “But due to demand and detail logistics They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands. I will keep u posted on a date which will be soon.”

Live Nation Middle East released a statement on Wednesday, citing the show is off due to “complex production issues.”

“We regret to inform you that the Utopia show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is cancelled,” Live Nation Middle East’s statement said on Twitter. “Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert.

“We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired. Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders at their point of purchase. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may have caused and appreciate your understanding. We remain committed to bringing exceptional live performances to fans and hope to have the opportunity to do so in the future.”

Previously, Travis Scott was the subject of rumors that his show in front of the pyramids in Egypt had been canceled. According to outlets in Egypt, The Egyptian Syndicate of Musical Professions, who provide permits, nixed the show.

“Since the General Syndicate is part of the fabric of this beloved country it is keen on its stability and refuses to tamper with societal values and Egyptian and Arab customs,” the statement reads.

The Syndicate added, “Based on research and documented information about strange rituals at Travis’s concerts that are inconsistent with our authentic societal values and traditions, the Board of Directors has decided to cancel the license issued to hold this type of concert that contradicts the cultural identity of the Egyptian people.”

Representatives from Live Nation have responded, stating, “There have been no changes to Travis Scott’s show in Egypt; any reports to the contrary are false. We can’t wait to celebrate ‘Utopia’ with you in Egypt!”

Reps for Scott also reached out to Hypebeast, denying the show was canceled.

Travis Scott announced in celebration of his highly anticipated new album, Utopia, he would perform a special show in front of the Pyramids of Egypt on July 28th. The Pyramids, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, will be the awe-inspiring backdrop for this immersive experience.

Travis Scott’s New Album ‘Utopia’ Is Drawing So Many Comparisons To Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’

At long last, Travis Scott’s highly anticipated album Utopia is out. Since its midnight release, fans have been listening and evaluating, and a common conclusion many have come to is that Utopia is super reminiscent of Kanye West’s beloved 2013 album Yeezus. In fact, the Kanye album was actually a trending topic on Twitter this morning (July 28) due to the volume of Utopia comparisons.

One popular tweet reads, “Kanye dropped Yeezus in 2013 and we all praised for sounding futuristic… 10 years later, we’re seeing it’s influence loud and clear [goat emojis].” Another says, “The Yeezus influence on Utopia is insane,” and another user noted, “this lowkey like trav’s Yeezus.” Somebody else tweeted, “This post is starting to make sense ‘Yetopia’ Utopia is literally a sister album to YEEZUS the Kanye influence is ridiculous you would think Kanye produced the whole album Travis is really a Kanye Protégés.”

There are those who see Utopia as essentially Yeezus taken in a different direction. One Twitter user wrote, “Travis Scott took Yeezus and said ‘what if this was maximalist?’” Another said, “Utopia is Travis Scott doing experimental/vibes in the same sonic space as Yeezus.”

As some have noted, West did have some involvement with this album: He’s a producer and writer on “Thank God” and also co-wrote “God’s Country,” for example.

Check out some more reactions below.

Did Drake Diss Pusha T On ‘Utopia?’

Travis Scott‘s new album Utopia has everyone talking. Utopia marks his fourth album, and his first in five years. As Scott is wont to do, he initially withheld the features upon revealing the tracklist, however, upon first listen, fans were quick to identify a frequent collaborator of Scott’s — none other than Drake.

Drake is featured on “Meltdown,” which contains not only a hypnotic beat switch, but perhaps some cryptic bars.

Upon streaming “Meltdown,” fans believed that Drake may have subliminally dissed Pusha T.

“I melt down the chains that I bought from your boss, give a f*ck about all of that heritage sh*t / Since V not around the members done hung up the Louis they not even wearing that sh*t”

It’s not unlikely that Drake is referring to the fact that he purchased a 14K three-tone N.E.R.D pendant chain ($2,184,000), a white gold brain pendant chain ($725,000), and a skateboard pendant chain ($103,750) — which he revealed in the video for the Her Loss cut “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin’, with 21 Savage.

As many of us know, Drake and Pusha T have been beefing since 2018, when the two exchanged a series of diss tracks aimed at each other.

Travis Scott Teams Up With Fellow H-Town Legend Beyoncé On ‘Delresto (Echoes)’

Travis Scott‘s fourth studio album, Utopia, is finally here. Over the course of the past week, the album has caused a lot of mixed emotions for Scott’s fans. While many fans are lauding Utopia‘s five different album artworks, some are devasted that Scott’s Egypt concert — which was set to live stream from the Giza pyramids — has been canceled. We can’t imagine how the fan who sold his house to buy tickets must feel.

But regardless, Utopia is finally here and in the hands of fans. As with any of Scott’s albums, Utopia features a coveted list of guests. But one particular track is already proving buzzy among fans.

On “Delresto (Echoes)” Scott is joined by another Houston legend — the one and only Beyoncé.

Over a thrilling, haunting beat, Bey opens, showing off her rap chops, then delivering immaculate melodies.

“Statues in the next room / billions in Escrow / bulletproof the whole thing / ignore the dress code / Step into the ballroom / So hard to let go / Things that never give life / I can see the echoes,” she raps feverously, before delivering an intoxicating hook.

Travis Scott Insists His Concert At Egypt’s Pyramids Will Still Happen Despite The Show Being Officially Canceled

The status of Travis Scott’s concert at the Pyramids in Egypt was up in the air for some time before yesterday’s (July 26) official announcement that the show was canceled. The announcement explained, “We regret to inform you that the UTOPIA show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is cancelled. Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert. We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired.”

Despite that, though, Scott still intends to go on with the show, but at a different time. After the cancellation news broke, Scott tweeted, “Egypt at the pyramids will happen But due to demand and detail logistics They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands. I will keep u posted on a date which will be soon love you alllll.”

It was previously reported that the Egyptian Musicians’ Syndicate was against Scott’s performance, saying in a statement, “After examining social media opinions and feedback, as well as the news circulating on search engines and social media platforms, which included authenticated images and information about peculiar rituals performed by the star during his performance, contradicting our authentic societal values and traditions, the Syndicate’s president and board of directors have decided to cancel the license issued for hosting this type of concert, which goes against the cultural identity of the Egyptian people.”

The Weeknd Makes Porn Joke in Response to Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia’ Album Cover

Whenever Travis Scott drops new music, the whole world pays attention. Most recently, the Houston, Texas rapper revealed the release date for his forthcoming project, Utopia, releasing on Friday, July 28th.

Sharing to his 50.6 million followers on Instagram, La Flame unveiled two out of the five album covers of the project, featuring photos from some of his favorite photographers.

One of them sees Travis Scott smiling upside down with a blacked-out face, while the other seems to be a mash-up of three different images. On the bottom, four shirtless black males stand behind a white woman with blond hair.

While the photo itself must have some deeper meaning that Travis connected to, The Weeknd didn’t hesitate to show his sense of humor. In the comment section, The Weekend wrote, “#BLACKEDTOPIA,” referring to the porn site Blacked. The comment has since gone viral, accumulating over 31K likes and counting.

The Weeknd and Travis share both a personal and professional relationship. Travis’ lead single for the project, “K-POP,” features The Weeknd and Bad Bunny.

Travis revealed the first cover art earlier this week on Tuesday and said he would unveil the project’s “main cover” on Thursday, July 27th.

In addition, Travis posted the trailer for his accompanying movie, Circus Maximus, which debuts in theaters on Thursday as well. Travis not only directed the film but wrote and stars in it as well.

The Weeknd Makes An NSFW Joke In Travis Scott’s Comments

This week Travis Scott is in full-on Utopia mode. The rapper has been teasing his new album for years but kicked it into high gear earlier this month. Now the album is officially just a few days away and he’s sharing some of the project’s multiple album covers with fans. A picture he shared this morning shows off one of those covers and fans all made a pretty similar association. The second image in the post clearly reminded some fans of promotional material for porn. The Weeknd was among them who left a comment saying “#BLACKEDTOPIA.” The very next comment on the post expresses similar sentiments saying “Second pic looks like the cover of a porno lmao.”

While it’s unclear if The Weeknd will appear on Utopia he did join Travis Scott on a recent song. His single “K-POP” dropped over the weekend as a sort of teaser for the upcoming project, though it won’t actually appear on the album. It saw Abel teaming up with Scott and reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny for a dancehall-flavored track. Some fans didn’t like the track much but since it won’t appear on Utopia that hasn’t seemed to slow the excitement much.

The Weeknd’s Hilarious Top Comment

As a part of the Utopia lead-up Travis Scott was scheduled to perform in Egypt. Some fans made pretty elaborate plans to attend the once-in-a-lifetime show. But from the moment it was announced the performance was straddled with problems. After quite a bit of speculation about the show, this morning Live Nation officially made the announcement canceling it.

All summer The Weeknd has been rolling out new music. He dropped weekly releases of songs to accompany episodes of his TV show The Idol. The drops featured collaborations with some pretty big names like Madonna, Lil Baby, Troye Sivan, Playboi Carti, Moses Sumney, and Future. Even as the show was eaten alive by critics fans enjoyed the accompanying music. What do you think of The Weeknd’s comment on Travis Scott’s new Utopia album cover post?
