Young M.A. Details Sobriety, Her Health, And New Music

Little more than a month ago, New York rapper Young M.A. admitted to her fans that she recently spent some time in the hospital following a health scare. Though she’s mostly kept details under wraps, the 31-year-old confirmed that she’s been feeling better than ever lately, and recent photos reflect that her appearance is matching her energy. On Easter Sunday (April 7), M.A. took to her Instagram Story to offer more information to followers, offering an explanation as to why she’s “been low-key” as of late.

“Long story short, basically, it’s a small setback,” the “Tip The Surgeon” hitmaker optimistically noted. “Unfortunately, I made. a lot of wrong decisions in my life. You know, [they’re] starting to catch up with [me]. So, I just want y’all to know, besides all that I’m actually doing much better,” she explained, alleviating the concern of many nervous fans. “I’ve been getting well. I’ve been very much sober. I don’t want to specifically go into detail. Because I really want to bring y’all on my journey.”

Young M.A. Updates Fans on Her Life

While focusing on her health is certainly a number one priority for now, Young M.A. also promised that she’s got more heat on the way. “I’m dropping some new music of course,” the Herstory artist happily revealed. “Imma also have a documentary with my story. Imma keep y’all in tune, catch y’all back up. Because I know y’all been wondering.” She assured those watching that she’s simply mysterious by nature, and is usually the type to “keep [her] personal problems to [herself].”

“But now it’s time to expand that and express that to y’all,” she said near the end of her post. “It’s gon’ be one of those M.A. summers, I promise you,” the recent birthday girl declared in a follow-up Story. Concern for Young M.A. first began circulating online last month, after a video shared by the lyricist’s barber showed her looking rougher than usual after apparently not having her hair cut for some time. Read more about that here, and check back later for any updates on the star’s forthcoming music and documentary releases.

Drake, Lil Yachty, & More Highlight New “Fire Emoji” Update

Drake, Lil Yachty, and Joey Bada$$ kick off the star-studded new update to HotNewHipHop’s Fire Emoji playlist. With Drake, his song, “Search & Rescue,” leads the way while Joey provides “Fallin’” and Yachty contributes “Strike (Holster).” Other artists to land spots on the newest Fire Emoji include NBA YoungBoy, Conway the Machine, and more.

With Drake’s newest song, the cover art notably features a lookalike of Kim Kardashian. He previously sampled Kanye West’s ex-wife during a snippet of a recent song titled “Rescue Me.” “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” she says in an audio clip taken from Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The song comes as Drake prepares to hit the road for his upcoming It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage. The Toronto rapper previously collaborated with 21 Savage on their album, Her Loss, in 2022. They also performed together at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.

As for Yachty, his single, “Strike (Holster),” comes as his first rap song since taking a psychedelic-rock turn on his 2023 album Let’s Start Here. A snippet of the song first emerged last year and it’s been a highly-requested release from his fans in the time since. It arrives despite Yachty recently remarking to Billboard, “Fuck any of the albums I dropped before this one.” He later clarified on Twitter that he meant no disrespect to rap. “It’s not about respecting rap, it’s about being respected as more than a rapper,” he said. “I create music in more than just that lane.”

In recent weeks, several songs from the deluxe version of Tyler, The Creator’s latest album, Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, made the Fire Emoji cut. Juice WRLD’s posthumous single, “The Light,” also was highlighted, as well as multiple songs off of JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown’s recent collaborative album, Scaring The Hoes. Lil Tjay Is In Album Mode, Hints At A Broken Heart

As he previously teased, Lil Tjay is officially in album mode, although it seems things have changed in his life since his last update. Moreover, he recently posted some pictures of him in Denmark, plus a TikTok of a hyped crowd watching him perform in Hamburg, Germany. However, his caption hints at him missing a special someone by his side, which might just motivate him even more to bring fans heat. “I USED 2 WANNA CEE THE WORLD WIT YOU… ALBUM MODEEEE,” he captioned his slideshow. Maybe that’s just to build conversation around his drop, and if so, it’s certainly working.

Amid his European tour, many of his rap peers gassed him up in the comments, like Scorey and PGF Nuk. What’s more is that the hinted heartbreak might even be a reference to some of his earlier material. Furthermore, in the chorus of his track “In My Head,” he raps, “These feelings been stuck in my head, ain’t too big on love, but with you, I’m all for it. See the world, me and you, we can tour it.” As such, whether it’s a direct reference or not, maybe he’ll take a different thematic approach to love on his album’s new cuts.

Lil Tjay Hints At Being Disappointed, But Excites Fans With Latest IG Post

However, that doesn’t mean that the New York MC is completely averse to love at this point- or that he dodged rumors of a romance between him and Ice Spice. For those unaware, these speculations sparked when he gifted his “Gangsta Boo” collaborator a Richard Millie watch around Valentine’s Day. Even though many fans were excited about a new Big Apple couple, sources close to Spice said that it was just a gift to celebrate their collab. Of course, the song saw massive success, so it is worth a $150K time reader, but the timing ironically suggested something deeper.

Meanwhile, that caption could also refer to friends in his inner circle not being around anymore, albeit for very different reasons. Recently, the 21-year-old exposed someone in his camp for snitching on him. Whether it’s for heartbreak or betrayal, at least Tjay seemed to distract himself from those feelings with a great tour around Europe. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Tjay and his next album.
