J Cole & Tee Grizzley Go “Blow For Blow” On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Our latest Fire Emoji playlist update this week may not be the most stacked in our catalog, but this week in rap music held some truly standout collaborations that we’d be remiss not to highlight. First up is the new single from Tee Grizzley and J. Cole, “Blow For Blow.” It’s a pretty chilled-out but still hard-hitting team-up thanks to some icy and mellow keys plus a rattling and bouncy Detroit drum pattern. As far as verses, both MCs switch between multiple flows to deliver charismatic bars in engaging fashion. It’s an unexpected link-u[, but nonetheless a fulfilling and skillful display.

Another blockbuster drop on our Fire Emoji playlist update is the long-awaited and latest collaboration between The Weeknd and Playboi Carti, “Timeless.” Despite its title, the track sounds deeply rooted in today’s moody trap and R&B fusions, bolstered by rubbery and futuristic synths and bass tones, a simple percussive treatment, and some sharp, quick, and confident deliveries from both artists. Carti kicks us off with a dynamic delivery that sounds like he’s featuring an alternate version of himself on the song, whereas Abel Tesfaye comes through with some expectedly angelic vocals.

Next up is a trunk-knocking 2000s-era Pharrell-style throwback from Maxo Kream and Tyler, The Creator, “Cracc Era.” A lot of folks online have compared it to how the Neptunes producer meshed so well with rappers like Slim Thug and Clipse. It’s not hard to see why: the deep and bass-heavy beat only need some buzzing shots of synth to keep both lyricists focused while the rough drums give the cut a funky and stankface-inducing flow. In fact, some die-hards out there (including Maxo himself) think that this is a perfect recipe for a collab album.

Meanwhile, Young Thug and Nigo joined forces for the jittery, high-speed, and boisterous “Dope Boy.” Finally, we wanted to shout out Meek Mill for the slightly reflective and passionate new single “ROBBIE SON.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Tommy Richman Builds Album Hype On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Summer’s officially over, and we have some new jams on our latest R&B Season playlist update to round up the best new releases to usher in the fall. Starting things off is the newest single from Tommy Richman ahead of his debut album COYOTE, “WHITNEY.” As usual with his catalog, it’s a pretty funky, mid-fi, buzzy, but nonetheless charming mix of gritty percussion patterns, striking synths, an overall throwback feel, and passionate lead vocals. Some echo effects and heavy reverb slightly muddy the appeal of the DMV native’s performance here, but it’s nonetheless a compelling and exciting new approach compared to past records.

Also on our R&B Season update is the latest collaboration under 4batz’s belt, his new single “roll da dice” with Lil Baby. This is actually one of his most fleshed-out and dynamic tracks so far when it comes to the drums, which feel much more present here than on previous material. Still, the track maintains the woozy, minimally icy, and very simply atmospheric tones that you’ve probably come to expect here. Baby does his thing here, but the dreamy vibe of the song means that his contribution is more of a fitting and vibe-building background addition than a true stand-out.

Next up from the R&B-adjacent world is a distinct, acoustic, and meditative track from Chiiild, “Don’t Fade On Me.” It’s a Tom Petty cover from an Apple TV+ original series Bad Monkey celebrating his music, and takes the original cut in a much more hazy and low-key direction. Gorgeous vocal harmonies propel the track forward alongside gently strummed guitars, and some additional synth pads in the background build out the world for you to lose yourself in.

Finally, we wanted to shout out the new Chase Shakur single, “LIMERENCE.” This is probably the most classically R&B-sounding release on our playlist this week, with charismatic lead vocals, punchy drums, sultry lyricism, some soulful bass, and electronic embellishments. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Ty Dolla Sign Confirms Kanye West Collaboration “Vultures 3” Is Still Coming And Will “Rip Heads Off”

Ty Dolla Sign says that he and Kanye West are still at work on Vultures 3 and that the project will “rip heads off.” He shared the update in the comments of a livestream on social media, writing: “V3 bouta rip heads off.” While he didn’t share an exact date for the project, the two have previously said they plan on dropping it at some point this year.

When the NFR Podcast shared the remark on X (formerly Twitter), fans in the replies had mixed responses to the news. “They should wrap it up the ones they dropped flopped,” one user wrote. Another fan added: “I am a Yeezy stan but please let it be better than Vultures 2….. In Jesus name. Keep winning.”

The two dropped the first installment in the series back in February. Ty previously defended collaborating with Ye during an interview with Billboard, earlier this year. “Ye is the best artist of this generation, besides me, and I don’t give a f–k about what people were talking about. I know my n****. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met,” he said at the time. He also argued that West’s controversial comments won’t impact the popularity of their music. “Just with my analysis of how it goes with him, he goes all the way to the top. And something may happen and he’ll say [something people find offensive] — and then people [get] right back, you know. Because this shit is undeniable,” he said.

Future Goes 3-For-3 On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

This was a pretty massive release week for hip-hop albums and singles, and our latest Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round the best of the best up for your convenience. Leading the way is Future’s MIXTAPE PLUTO, a hotly anticipated project that marks his third of the year. “TOO FAST,” “LIL DEMON,” and “READY TO COOK UP” are easy highlights to shout out for their woozy energy. In addition, we also got a new LP from Lil Tecca, PLAN A. While the record has a solid amount of variety and dynamism to it, we think that “I CAN’T LET GO” is a particularly electrifying note to start your journey with.

Also on Fire Emoji is the continuation of another wild 2024 run: The Alchemist’s new album The Genuine Articulate. It’s a short but very sweet effort, and we’d recommend “Details” with Larry June to hear one of the smoothest sample flips of the month so far. As far as other albums to look forward to, GloRilla recently released a single for her upcoming project Glorious, “Hollon.” It’s her trademark Memphis formula, but with more eerie synths and a more cavernous bass tone to spice things up from her work’s usual (but still enjoyable) muddiness.

But let’s keep it moving on Fire Emoji with some quick single shout-outs. Nardo Wick and BossMan Dlow have some pretty menacing but chilled-out chemistry on “Oh S**t,” whose piano keys contrast the more dark chords quite well. As part of his new comic book/single series, Kid Cudi released “DONT WORRY” with Chip Tha Ripper, a compelling mix of dreamy soundscapes and buzzing bass. On a slightly similar psychedelic tip, we have the latest auto-croon jam from TiaCorine, “Different Color Stones” and its playful attitude.

Meanwhile, Meek Mill pulled up in a “CYBER TRUCK” on his new single, which is exactly his style of sharp snares and confident flows. Ray Vaughn and SiR rep Top Dawg on the former’s new song “Everybody Dies,” which might be the most well-rounded release of the week. Finally, we wanted to pay tribute to Rich Homie Quan’s memory by pointing you to his posthumous “Song Cry” single, notable for its emotional vulnerability and the dark context it now falls under. But through his catalog, his loved ones and fans can continue to celebrate his life and preserve his legacy. Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.
Rest In Peace Rich Homie Quan.

The Weeknd Makes His Grand Return On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

R&B Season is upon us once again, and our new playlist update is here to round up the best of the best new music releases this week. Of course, we have a massive comeback to talk about to kick things off: The Weeknd’s new single “Dancing In The Flames.” It’s the lead single to his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow, which will wrap up his After Hours trilogy and his moniker as a whole. The song still has the ’80s-inspired synth-pop leanings of previous installments, but with a little more brightness when it comes to the lyrical content and the melodic and harmonic structure. Needless to say, it’s a jam.

On a more traditional R&B tip, we also wanted to shout out Leon Thomas and Ty Dolla $ign’s new single, “FAR FETCHED.” The atmospheric pads and samples, plus an earthy and groovy drum pattern, highlights their vocal chemistry even more. Eventually, piano chords come in to introduce Ty’s feature and turn the track into more of a regal and dreamy experience for a moment. While it isn’t the most game-changing thing you’ll hear this week, the songwriting makes this cut reach its potential.

As far as new albums to talk about, we finally have the next excellent release from Foushée, Pointy Heights. Even though some great highlights here like “feel like home” don’t necessarily fit completely into typical R&B aesthetics, the vocal harmonies and runs fit right at home, ironically enough. Nevertheless, there are some great indie and alt-rock fusions here that show off her creativity even more than what we’ve already heard. So if you’re looking for something more breezy and warm to extend the summer as much as you can, look no further.

In addition, we’d be remiss not to mention N3WYRKLA’s “mind now” with Skilla Baby for its peppy and charismatic fusions between catchy melodies and charismatic verses. Finally, we recommend you check out Yoko Gold’s “Nothing Like Your Lips” for a sultry slow-burner whose gentle guitars entrance its listeners. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, stick around on HNHH for the best new music around the clock.

Playboi Carti Turns It “ALL RED” On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

We watched the party die this week, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the new releases hip-hop had for us. Moreover, our latest Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round up the best of the best that the genre offered. Leading the way is a self-birthday gift from Playboi Carti, “ALL RED.” It’s presumably the lead single to his highly anticipated upcoming album I AM MUSIC (or just MUSIC, apparently). Over a rage-ready F1LTHY beat, the Atlanta creative does his best Future impression according to many fans online, which may or may not be a deal-breaker for you. Still, it goes too hard to not shout it out for a try.

Elsewhere, we also got The Pre-Party on this Fire Emoji update, a two-pack of posthumous Juice WRLD singles ahead of a rumored album release. “Lightyears” with Young Thug is a mellow, emotive, and guitar-backed trap ballad that shows off their vocal chemistry and has a characteristically catchy chorus. On the other hand, “World Tour (Aquafina)” is a more lively cut that plays with the late Chicago icon’s earliest sonic explorations. Seeing this duality pop up again was a welcome treat.

In addition, Fire Emoji also features Eminem’s deluxe version of The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), the Expanded Mourner’s Edition. The new addition on here (excluding previous digital exclusives) is the “Fuel” remix with Shady Records signees WESTSIDE BOOGIE and GRIP, plus a revamped Em verse. Another hot release this week was The Alchemist’s “Ferraris In The Rain” featuring ScHoolboy Q, which came with an album announcement. The legendary producer boasts his lyrical skills over a triumphant instrumental, bolstered by a short but sweet Q appearance.

Speaking of collaborations, Joey Bada$$ and Chlöe mellowed out on “TELL ME,” a sultry and woozy combination of rap and R&B. Finally, we wanted to highlight Ferg’s new single “Off White Rozay” for its peppy beat, charismatic performance, and frenetic energy. Check out our Fire Emoji playlist above and let us know in the comments section down below what your favorite release in this latest update was – as well as what else we missed this week. Cardi B Delivers Exciting Album Update After Daughter’s Birth

Cardi B has a lot on her plate at the moment, as she just gave birth to her third child with Offset. The baby arrived just over a month after it was revealed that the two rappers were getting a divorce. They appear to be on good terms despite the split, and it doesn’t look like Cardi is letting any of this slow her down. Earlier this week, the “Enough” rapper took to Twitter/X to deliver an update on her upcoming album.

The project doesn’t have an official title yet, or a release date, but fans are hoping it will arrive sometime this year. While it’s unconfirmed whether or not this will happen, Cardi says she’s hard at work on it. “Now is crunch time [album emoji] on my kids,” she wrote simply.

Cardi B Says It’s “Crunch Time”

Of course, fans have been waiting for Cardi’s sophomore album for years now, ever since the 2018 release of her debut Invasion Of Privacy. It looks like it’ll arrive sooner rather than later, based on the number of hints she’s been dropping about it lately. Last week, for example, she posted the number 11 on her Instagram broadcast channel. The cryptic message left fans to speculate. It also reminded them of Cardi’s BET Experience performance in June. For the show, she rocked a bedazzled jersey featuring the number 11. Similarly, it had viewers suspicious, and many believed it was a hint at the release date of her next project.

For now, supporters will just have to wait to hear more about the upcoming album, and about these latest developments in Cardi’s personal life. What do you think of Cardi B claiming it’s crunch time for her upcoming album? Are you looking forward to hearing it when it finally drops? What about her giving birth to her third child with Offset? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Laila! & Queen Naija Take The Reins On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Welcome to autumn, where the influx of new R&B-related tracks isn’t slowing down. Moreover, we’ve got our latest R&B Season playlist update here to round up the best of the best around the genre that came out this week. This time around, we wanted to first shout out the new Laila! album, Gap Year! It’s a 17-track of some really funky and lush bedroom pop mixed with R&B-style vocal melodies, infectious basslines, airy deliveries, and a lot of fun-loving charisma. As one of the rising stars within the game this year, she’s displaying her versatile talents even more here thanks to excellent cuts such as “Want 2.”

On a more classic R&B tip, we have the new Queen Naija single “Good Girls Finish Last.” It’s another example of acoustic guitar balladry, but the earthy percussion pattern does a lot to separate it from the more sad and down-trodden style associated with that archetype. Some harmonious backing vocals and a tight lovelorn narrative also help to center this track into more of its own identity. If you’re looking for some tender jams this week to soothe you, then this should be right up your alley.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

Another project we wanted to highlight on this R&B Season update is RINI’s new seven-tracker, Lucky 7. Its sonic character is mostly built around dreamy guitar tones, softly buzzing bass, crips drums, and an overall atmospheric approach to indie and R&B fusions. One particular standout is “Far Away,” whose chime embellishments and measured vocal approach closes the project out quite well. But don’t let that fool you: the rest is just as worth it.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention the genre-fusing full-length from Fred again.., ten days. While not all of it takes influence from R&B, as it’s mostly an electronic experience, “fear less” with Sampha is among its most interesting and well-developed experiments. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. As always, stick around on HNHH for the latest music drops around the clock.

Lil Troy Reveals His Mother Had A Stroke Amid His Heart Attack Recovery

Earlier this month, Willie D took to social media with some concerning news, announcing that Lil Troy had suffered a heart attack. “The bad news is, he’s not out of the woods,” he explained. “I spoke to Troy this morning. He is alert, but he’s still in the hospital, where he’s been since Tuesday of last week.” Shortly after, Lil Troy spoke with AllHipHop, providing fans with an update on his health.

“I’m good now. Feeling blessed. I’m going to start speaking about taking our meds and going to the doctor and heart attacks,” he told the outlet. Now, during a recent interview with Fox 26 News, he opened up about the poor lifestyle choices that he thinks led to the heart attack. He also revealed that his mother suffered a health emergency the very same weekend, while he was in the process of recovering.

“I ate all this fried chicken, up all night drinking—that’s what I did,” he described, “I was a rapper, so I was up all night drinking and everything else, not taking care of my body… I thought I was Superman, I wasn’t taking my medicine, thinking I could keep going without eating right.”

Troy continued, “I was in the hospital that Saturday and I called my mom on the phone, just talking to her in general, and she had a stroke while I was on the phone with her. I had to call the ambulance and everything. They brought her to the same hospital I was at on the same floor.” He went on to stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle, sharing that he no longer smokes or drinks. ASAP Rocky & LL COOL J Skate On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Autumn is upon us, and with it falls a slew of hot new hip-hop releases to go through. For that, we’ve got our latest Fire Emoji playlist update ready, rounding up the best of the best rap of the week. Starting us off is a new album that perhaps you might not want to call a comeback, but it certainly feels like that more than ever before. LL COOL J finally graced fans with his new LP THE FORCE, his first studio project in 11 years. It’s got a lot of Q-Tip-produced highlights, but we’d recommend you start by checking out “Murdergram Deux” featuring Eminem.

Also on Fire Emoji is the brand-new single from ASAP Rocky and J. Cole, The Alchemist-produced “Ruby Rosary.” This track builds around cold, somber, eerie, but nonetheless dreamy piano samples, intoxicating and entrancing flows and vocal effects, and a lot of despondent but determined affirmations from both MCs. It’s an amazing teaser ahead of Pretty Flacko’s Don’t Be Dumb later this year. It’s also got some supposed Drake disses here and there, but you already knew that and probably don’t care at this point.

Elsewhere, we also wanted to shout out this new star-studded collaborative team featured on the track “Can’t Hold Me Down.” Pharrell, Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, and Kyle Richh joined forces for the multi-media music division Doodles, which released this single as part of an EP for an animated special. Another welcome collaboration on Fire Emoji is the multi-lingual UK garage-inspired cut “Moi” from Central Cee and RAYE. Even though these combinations with drill might not sound fitting on paper, the atmosphere, tender melodies, and modular instrumentation here ends up fitting it all together successfully.

Meanwhile, Toosii and Gunna work together like bread and butter on “Champs Élysées,” a woozy and vibe-heavy trap cut. Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention Boldy James and Antt Beatz’s new single “Super Mario.” It puts the Detroit MC over his city’s traditional bounce – a rare combination these days for the Concreature. Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoj pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments below.
