Tyrese Denied New Judge In Child Support Battle With Ex-Wife

Tyrese

Tyrese’s ongoing court battle with his ex-wife Samantha Gibson took a new turn, as the singer-actor lost his bid to replace the judge presiding over their child support case. Despite Tyrese’s efforts, the judge denied his request for a new judge, leaving the singer-actor in a difficult position.

Motions Denied

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, Tyrese lost in his fight to replace the judge presiding over his divorce battle due to an alleged bias.

The judge ultimately ordered the Baby Boy actor to pay $10,000 per month in child support for their daughter, Soraya. The judge emphasized that the child support was not a punishment but meant to benefit their child.

In September 2022, Tyrese and Samantha Gibson faced off in court, with both sides testifying on the stand. However, Samantha later accused Tyrese of not complying with the court-ordered support, claiming he had been paying significantly less than the required amount.

Tyrese, in turn, argued that he believed the child support order was excessive and accused the judge of bias against him. The judge found Tyrese in contempt of court but did not send him to jail. Instead, he ordered him to pay $237,000 in back child support and $400,000 to cover Samantha’s legal fees.

Tyrese’s Attempt To Change His Outcome

In an attempt to change the course of the case, Tyrese demanded that Judge Farmer be removed from the case. The Fast X star alleged that the judge had canceled a hearing related to his appeal of the back child support order and unfairly imposed a $450,000 bond for the appeal.

However, Samantha responded to Tyrese’s request, stating that his allegations were baseless and without merit. She stated in court filings:

“The Court is quite familiar with the procedural history of this matter and Respondent’s regular, frivolous efforts to delay and avoid the enforcement of any of the Court’s Orders with which he disagrees. The accusations and allegations contained in Tyrese’s Motion are baseless, without merit, and certainly not legally sufficient to support the recusal of Judge Farmer.”

Despite Tyrese’s claims, Judge Farmer denied his motion, citing the lack of factual evidence showing personal bias on the part of the court. Since the ruling, Tyrese has remained silent regarding the court order on social media.

Tyrese Defends Himself In Child Support Battle, Says Ex Lied On Him

Tyrese recorded a live stream to provide an update on his child support battle with ex-wife Samantha Lee Gibson. During the stream, he shared his side of the story.

Tyrese Addresses Child Support Case

In a live stream on April 26th, singer/songwriter Tyrese Gibson discusses the legal battle between him and his now ex-wife, whom he secretly married, Samantha Lee Gibson.

In the live stream, the TGT singer mentions how he harbors no ill feelings towards his ex and that the goal was to always support her rather than leave her.

Tyrese Said Ex-Wife Lied In Court

The “Sweet Lady” singer was visibly upset on the video, saying that his ex-wife has allegedly lied multiple times during the trial.

According to Tyrese, his ex-wife stated that she was kicked out of their home and that he also changed the locks while he was away shooting a film.

Tyrese stated that he never kicked her out of their home. However, he did change the locks out of fear that she would return while he was out of town.

During the live stream, he mentioned that his ex-wife has two law firms working on the case for her and is earning over $150,000 a year. He stated Samantha is using the majority of her funds to pay for cosmetic surgeries. Additionally, he claimed that she had only paid her lawyers $7,500 in legal fees.

Celebrity Child Support Woes

Legal battles involving child support are unfortunately common.

50 Cent had an ongoing dispute with the mother of his firstborn regarding child support. He claimed to have paid over $1 million in support over the years.

Boosie Badazz brags about how much he supports his children.  In an Instagram post, he stated he has never missed a child support payment for his daughter, Lyric Beyonce.

Tyrese Loses Bid to Remove Divorce Judge He Accused Of Being Biased

Tyrese Has to Represent Himself After His Attorney Quit

Last month Tyrese Gibson filed a motion to remove the judge presiding over his divorce, after accusing him of being bias. His ex-wife Samantha accused Tyrese of refusing to pay the court-ordered support. She claimed he had been paying her $2,236 instead of the $10k. Tyrese claimed he believed the child support order was excessive. He accused the judge of being biased against him. Now the motion he filed has been denied…

Radar Online reports:

Tyrese lost in his fight to replace the judge presiding over his divorce battle due to an alleged bias. According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the Honorable Kevin Farmer denied the Fast X star’s demand. Back in September 2022, Tyrese and his ex-wife Samantha Gibson faced off in court. Both sides testified on the stand. At one point, the judge scolded the entertainer telling him, “You don’t ask questions! That’s not how this works!” In the end, the judge ordered Tyrese to pay $10k per month in child support.

Tyrese and Samantha share a daughter named Soraya. Judge Farmer told Tyrese, “This is not a punishment for you. Put that money where it belongs, in the child!” A couple of months later, Samantha accused Tyrese of refusing to pay the court-ordered support. She claimed he had been paying her $2,236 instead of the $10k. Tyrese claimed he believed the child support order was excessive. He accused the judge of being biased against him. The judge found Tyrese in contempt of court but did not throw him in jail. Instead, he ordered him to cough up $237k in back child support and another $400k to cover Samantha’s legal bills.

Last month, Tyrese demanded Judge Farmer be taken off the case. He claimed the judge canceled a hearing related to his appeal of the back child support order. He said the judge decided to order him to cough up a $450k bond for his appeal to proceed. Tyrese said he planned to use the hearing to tell the judge he needed additional time due to the actor’s strike. Tyrese’s ex Samantha responded to his request, in a filing obtained by RadarOnline.com, where she asked that the judge not be taken off the case. She said, “The Court is quite familiar with the procedural history of this matter and Respondent’s regular, frivolous efforts to delay and avoid the enforcement of any of the Court’s Orders with which he disagrees.”

She said, “The accusations and allegations contained in [Tyrese’s] Motion are baseless, without merit, and certainly not legally sufficient to support the recusal of Judge Farmer.” Then, Judge Farmer signed an order that denied Tyrese’s motion.

Tyrese Sued by Airbnb Property Owner for Excessive Alterations

Tyrese Reportedly Bails on Custody Battle Hearing

In a surprising turn of events, Tyrese Gibson, the multi-talented actor and singer, finds himself facing legal action from an Airbnb property owner. The property owner alleges that Tyrese made excessive alterations to the rental property, leading to damages that exceed $25,000. This unexpected clash between a celebrity guest and a property owner sheds light on the challenges that can arise in the realm of short-term rentals.

The Allegations:

According to court documents, Tyrese is being sued for allegedly making substantial alterations to the Airbnb property without the owner’s consent. The property owner claims that the alterations were not only excessive but also caused significant damage to the premises. These alterations reportedly include modifications to the interior structure, unauthorized installations, and changes to the overall aesthetic of the property.

Legal Implications:

Tyrese’s case highlights the legal complexities surrounding short-term rentals and the responsibilities of both guests and property owners. While Airbnb provides a platform for individuals to rent their properties, it also emphasizes the importance of communication and mutual agreement on any alterations made to the rental space. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can lead to legal consequences, as exemplified by this case.

Monetary Damages Sought:

The property owner is seeking over $25,000 in damages, citing the cost of repairs, restoration, and loss of rental income during the period of necessary renovations. The lawsuit underscores the financial strain that property owners may face when guests violate the terms of their rental agreement, potentially deterring future guests and impacting the property’s overall value.

Impact on the Short-Term Rental Industry:

Tyrese’s legal troubles may have broader implications for the short-term rental industry. As more celebrities and high-profile individuals turn to platforms like Airbnb for accommodation, this case serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of respecting property boundaries and contractual agreements. Property owners may become more cautious about renting their homes to public figures, fearing potential damage and alterations that could exceed the standard wear and tear.

Tyrese’s legal battle with an Airbnb property owner highlights the challenges that can arise when celebrities rent short-term accommodations. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of clear communication and adherence to rental agreements to avoid legal disputes. As the short-term rental industry continues to grow, it is crucial for both guests and property owners to understand their responsibilities and obligations to maintain a positive and mutually beneficial relationship.

Tyrese Slapped With $10 Million Defamation Lawsuit Following Breakfast Club Appearance

Tyrese Reportedly Bails on Custody Battle Hearing

R&B singer Tyrese Gibson has been slapped with a $10 million defamation of character lawsuit for comments made on The Breakfast Club. Tyrese Gibson is being sued by a director over negative statements he made about him on ‘The Breakfast Club. The ‘Sweet Lady’ singer is being sued by Bryan Barber for defamation, and libel for $10,000,000.

According to legal documents, Barber is claiming the actor made inaccurate and defamatory statements about him during a September 7th appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”

Barker claimed that the “Baby Boy” actor attacked his “character and reputation” during the episode by stating, “Barber took Gibson’s [interview] footage and refused to give it back; Gibson paid [Barber] $35,000.00 total to film the interview footage; and Barber also stole footage from two other public figures – Big Boi and Dallas Austin.”

The filmmaker recalled he was hired by Gibson back in 2019, to conduct and edit a sitdown interview of him with Charlamagne Tha God. Gibson’s ex-wife, Samantha Lee, would be sitting with the actor during the filming.

Barber, the CEO and founder of Pivot Originals — a video streaming platform — says his company would provide cameras, lights, and editing following the filming for Gibson.

Gibson and Barker agreed that the interview would be filmed over a day and both parties “would split (on a 50/50 basis) the revenue derived from the streaming and/or other distribution.” However, that wasn’t the case as Gibson requested a second day of shooting under the guise of wanting a “‘B-Roll’ footage of Gibson spending time with his wife and their newborn daughter.”

As for Gibson’s claim about Barber refusing to release the interview footage, the music video director claimed the actor’s management specifically instructed him not to release any portion of the interview to protect the reputation of the “Fast 9” star.

“Gibson refused to adhere to the previous 50/50 revenue split that he and Barber previously negotiated for the CTG Interview,” the document reads.

Tyrese proceeded to mention the situation on an appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club’ claiming Barker was holding the footage hostage. In the interview, Gibson claims he spent $35,000 on it, and Barker will not release it.

Now, Barker claims those defamatory statements, and Gibson knew that “the success of Pivot Originals hinges largely on establishing and maintaining trust with original content creators.” Nevertheless, he made those remarks, knowing they weren’t true.

Barber is asking for damages in the amount of no less than $10,000,000, claiming the statements constituted slander per se to injuring his profession as a director (and editor/producer) and his business.

Teddy Pendergrass’ Widow Sued By Tyrese Over Biopic Rights

Tyrese is suing the widow of singer Teddy Pendergrass for the rights to his life story. Tyrese, through his production company Voltron Entertainment, claims to have been working on a Pendergrass biopic since 2013 with the permission of Pendergrass’ widow, Joan. However, Tyrese has now alleged that Joan has refused to extend the option to the story’s rights. “Sadly things had to come to this….Another Philadelphia legend Lee Daniels is attached direct me as Teddy. This has been 13 years+ years in the makin this man embraced me when he was on this earth and shared to me “No one can play me in my biopic but you Tyrese I’m sure of it”…. -TP,” Tyrese said in a rambling Instagram post. While the post did not mention a lawsuit, the legal avenue was confirmed to TMZ.

Pendergrass, an R&B icon, passed away in 2010. That’s around the same time that Tyrese claims to have begun work on the biopic. The primary reason for the lawsuit appears to be to prevent “undue financial harm” to Voltron Entertainment. According to Tyrese and other sources, the company has spent around $450,000 on the production of the film over the last decade. However, there is very little information about just where in production the film is beyond the fact that Tyrese intends to play Teddy. As mentioned, director Lee Daniels (The Butler, Empire, The United States vs. Billie Holiday) is reportedly set to direct.

However, suing Joan Pendergrass is not the only legal matter Tyrese finds himself in. The actor and musician is currently embroiled in a legal battle against Home Depot over alleged racial discrimination. Tyrese alleges that a cashier at one of the hardware store’s locations racially profiled two of his associates. He claims that the cashier refused to let them make a purchase using his credit card.

However, Home Depot refuted the claim. The chain states that Gibson had brought several items to a register and then left them unattended to continue shopping. The cashier in question cleared his transaction to continue serving other customers, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. In response to this, he took to Instagram to call out Home Depot’s Trump-supporting founder, Bernard Marcus.

Why Are DJ Envy & Tyrese Beefing?

Tyrese and DJ Envy have been at odds for a while, but their feud reached a new level of intensity after the singer’s recent appearance on The Breakfast Club. The two men exchanged heated words on air and social media, leaving fans wondering what caused their fallout and if they could ever reconcile. Here’s a breakdown of the beef and its origins.

The Breakfast Club Interview

On September 7, 2023, Tyrese joined The Breakfast Club for an interview, where he claimed he was on an “apology tour” and wanted to clear the air with DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God. However, things got heated when DJ Envy confronted Tyrese about some disrespectful comments he allegedly made to his wife in the past. Tyrese denied the accusations and said he was only trying to help their marriage by sending them positive messages.

DJ Envy also expressed his disappointment in Tyrese for not reaching out to him during his divorce from ex-wife Samantha Lee and his public mental health issues. Tyrese said he felt that Envy did not support him during his dark times and accused him of being fake. DJ Envy stated he wanted to remember Tyrese as a brother who helped his relationship, not as someone going through it. He also said that some of Tyrese’s words deserved him to “box his mouth.”

He also said he was ready for “all the smoke” with DJ Envy and challenged him to a fight. Tyrese also accused Envy of being jealous of him and his success. He said that Envy was insecure about his own marriage and that he was projecting his issues onto him. He also mentioned that the radio host was just trying to go viral by creating drama with him.

On September 17, 2023, Tyrese changed his tone and posted an Instagram Live video, where he waved a white flag and said he wanted peace with DJ Envy. He said he was taking the higher road and did not want any problems. He also said he respected Charlamagne tha God more than DJ Envy, but he was willing to bury the hatchet with both of them. Further, Tyrese said he was going through a lot of things when he was having his mental health issues and that he was trying to navigate through them. He said he wanted to clear his name and did not mean any harm. He also hoped that DJ Envy would accept his apology and move on.

As of now, it is unclear if DJ Envy has responded to Tyrese’s peace offer or if they have resolved their beef. The two men have a history of friendship and collaboration, but they also have a history of conflict and misunderstanding. Hopefully, they can find a way to mend their relationship and move forward with respect and love.

Tyrese put his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, on blast with a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday. In doing so, he accused her of “gaslighting” him and labeled her with several insults. He says she’s “demanding $20,000 a month” in child support for their daughter and doesn’t believe it to be a fair figure.

“I have NO CLUE who this person is…… #Gaslighting is the most vile form of manipulation she’s out trying to sell people on shit that nobody is sold on,” Tyrese wrote. From there, he labeled her a “Gold digger, Gaslighter, narcissist, manipulator.”

It’s far from the first time that Tyrese has called out his ex-wife publically. Earlier this year, he dropped a song titled, “Love Transaction,” in which he calls out Lee for allegedly using their child for $20,000 in monthly child support. “Dragging me in and out of court / Trying to take all that I’ve been working for / Can you justify what you say the baby needs? / Don’t I make sure she has everything? / 20,000 isn’t child support / We both know just who that money’s for,” he sings on the track. In other posts in recent months, Tyrese has gone so far as to compare Lee to former President Donald Trump. The two married in 2017 and announced their divorce three years later.

Tyrese Struggles With His Lawsuit Against Home Depot: ‘It’s Like My Disneyland’

Tyrese Gibson Confirms Beef With Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is Over

Tyrese is suing Home Depot, but he is not happy about it. Speaking with TMZ, Tyrese revealed that it is one of his favorite places in the world. Last week, Tyrese filed a $1 million lawsuit with the home improvement store.

“I really struggled with even filing the lawsuit because Home Depot literally been my favorite place,” Tyrese said. “It’s like my Disneyland.”

With the current lawsuit, Tyrese revealed that he is considering going to rival company Lowe’s.

The singer and actor, along with two of his associates who “regularly provide construction services to Gibson,” are suing the home improvement giant for discrimination and racial profiling.

According to PEOPLE, Gibson, Eric Mora, and Manuel Hernandez are seeking over $1 million in damages, additional punitive damages, and “a declaratory judgment declaring that” Home Depot acted in violation of California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act. The $1 million total reflects the amount of time Gibson has spent with Home Depot in his lifetime.

The event date at the center of the suit was Feb. 11. Tyrese allowed the two men to use his car as he waited outside to avoid fanfare. Before exiting the store, Tyrese was said to give verbal permission to use the card, but the cashier refused, leading to Tyrese returning inside, and the cashier still refused.

The lawsuit reads:

“The cashier gave no reasonable explanation other than repeating ‘store policy’ and demanded to see a form of identification. The manager refused to speak with Gibson in person. It was only after significant heated discussion with the cashier that Gibson was finally able to complete the transaction.”

It also states the employees hindered the transaction due to their skin color and national origin. Tyrese captured part of the event on YouTube.

In a statement, Home Depot wrote: “Diversity and respect for all people are core to who we are, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any form. We value Mr. Gibson as a customer, and in the months since this happened, we’ve reached out to him and his attorneys several times to try to resolve his concerns. We will continue to do so.
