Drake Joins Tristan Thompson & The Kardashians In Toronto For NBA Star’s Mom’s Funeral

2023 is beginning on a sombre note for Tristan Thompson. Just a few days into January, the Canadian athlete’s mother, Andrea, went into cardiac arrest in Toronto. She was rushed to the hospital, but doctors ultimately failed to revive her.

Her son flew back to his hometown as soon as possible with co-parent Khloé Kardashian joining him. Their second child together recently came via surrogate, though TMZ notes that they’re not romantic with each other at this time. Rather, the reality starlet has been acting as a support system for her ex.

Photos of Thompson and his baby mama heading to the 6ix made rounds on January 6, but since then, it’s been relatively quiet on their front. Likely due to mourning, as well as planning this weekend’s star-studded funeral.

On Saturday (January 14), several celebrity friends flocked to Toronto to support the NBA player in his time of need. Paparazzi photos show Tristan in his all-black funeral attire outside, many of his loved ones – including Drake – surrounding him.

The two Canadians have developed a special bond over the years, with Thompson appearing in one of Drizzy’s Honestly, Nevermind music videos last summer.

For his part, Champagne Papi also donned a black outfit, seemingly layering up to beat the cool winter weather. Kim Kardashian was also in attendance, alongside her little sister Khloé, and a figure who’s believed to be Kylie Jenner.

TMZ notes that family matriarch Kris Jenner came to the funeral as well, though she wasn’t seen in the snapshots. In the wake of Andrea’s passing, the KUWTK alum posted a sincere tribute to her fellow grandparent on Instagram.

“You were the most amazing, dedicated, devoted, and selfless mom and such a loving, kind, and fabulous grandmother,” the famous momager wrote in her caption.

“What a blessing you were to your family!!! I will miss you Andrea. I will miss your bright spirit and amazing light. Thank you for always praying for us and lifting us up and encouraging us along the way. Rest in peace beautiful angel.”

Drake and a handful of other celebs joined Tristan Thompson over the weekend for his mother’s funeral in Toronto. The former NBA star’s late mother, whose name was Andrea, died suddenly over a week ago after suffering a heart attack earlier this month, on January 6. Along with the Canadian hitmaker, Khloe Kardashian and her mother, Kris, and sister Kim, were in attendance for the funeral service, TMZ reports.

Thompson’s mother was rushed to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest on January 5. Doctors tried reviving her, but she unfortunately passed away. The basketball player immediately made his way back home to Toronto with Khloe alongside him. The former couple shares two children, True and a new baby boy.

In addition to the star-studded attendees, Thompson’s family and friends joined him as he celebrated his mother’s life.

In other Drake news, the “Rich Flex” rapper recently teamed up with Dancehall artist Popcaan for a new track titled “We Caa Done.”

This new track would mark the fourth collaboration between the two. In 2020, Drake was featured on Popcaan’s project, FIXTAPE, on the songs “All I Need” and “Twist & Turn.” Popcaan is also credited with Drake’s 2016 smash hit “Controlla” from his album Views.

Tristan Thompson’s mother, Andrea Thompson, died suddenly due to a heart attack.

According to TMZ, Andrea had a heart attack in her Toronto home and was transferred to a local hospital but could not be resuscitated.

Thompson and Khloe Kardashian, the mother of two of Tristan’s children, traveled to Toronto together to be with his family. Khloe and Andrea were believed to have a relationship.

ET details Khloe will be joined by Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner for the private funeral. “A private funeral for his mother is scheduled that Khloe, Kim, and Kris are expected to attend,” the source says.

Thompson has not made a public statement.

Once again, Khloé Kardashian is showing how much compassion she carries in her heart. After learning of the death of her co-parent’s mother, the reality starlet joined Tristan Thompson on a private jet to his homeland of Toronto, Canada where he can properly mourn and make arrangements for Andrea Thompson’s funeral.

TMZ broke the story on Thursday (January 5), revealing that the athlete’s parent was in the hospital. She apparently suffered a heart attack while at home. Upon arrival at the medical centre, experts made attempts to resuscitate the woman but ultimately failed.

Thompson left Los Angeles as soon as possible, sources tell the outlet. In an update on Friday (January 6) afternoon, Kardashian’s appearance became public knowledge. It’s been said that she’s joining her ex to comfort him in his time of need.

The mother of two was reportedly close to Andrea, and the NBA player shared no shortage of photos of his family matriarch with his children over the years. He shares two with Khloé, as well as a son with his ex, and another from an affair he had with Maralee Nichols.

Despite not being a couple for some time now, Kardashian and Thompson still spend holidays together for co-parenting purposes. Their united front during this difficult time proved his dedicated she is to supporting him through thick and thin, whether romance is involved or not.

At this time, further details regarding Andrea’s sudden death remain unknown. The Canadian baller hasn’t yet spoken out, though his previous posts dedicated to the late woman speak volumes.

On Mother’s Day a few years ago, he wrote, “One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high. Every day is your day. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m so lucky to have been chosen as your son. Not all superheroes wear capes.”

Khloe Kardashian Gives Glimpse Of Her Baby Boy In New Photos

Khloe Kardashian blessed fans with a glimpse of her budding family in new Christmas photos. The youngest Kardashian sister took to Instagram to share photos from the family’s annual holiday party with her 225 million followers. Khloe shared a solo photo of herself donning a bright red gown, followed by a flick of herself alongside daughter true and her five-month old son. 

The images mark the first time Khloe shared an image of her baby boy, who was born via surrogate in July 2022. The photos come on the heels of Tristan’s other baby mama Maralee Nichols showing of their son Theo’s kids-sized Bugatti. Maralee captioned the photo, “Spotted Santa Claus.” Little Theo’s Christmas gift comes weeks after Maralee scored a huge custody win in court. The 31-year old was ordered to pay Maralee $9,500 a month in child support.

No word on whether or not Tristan attended the Kardashian’s annual party. However, he did join the Kardashian clan in giving back during the holiday season. The NBA star gave out blankets and presents to homeless women at the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles. “Thank you to the @dwcweb Downtown Women’s Center for having me help give out presents and blankets today,” he wrote. “A reminder my mom always told me, “when you’re blessed, bless others”. Thankful to all the staff and volunteers for what they do all year round to help these amazing women.”

Both Khloe and Tristan have kept mum about the status of their relationship. But the Good American founder did dish out some relationship advice earlier this month, just one year after Thompson’s cheating scandal. She took to Instagram with a cryptic quote. “Advice of the day: You can’t make someone love you by giving them more of what they don’t already appreciate.”

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are welcoming their second baby into the world.  A representative for the Kardashian family announced it was a healthy baby boy and that the family is “incredibly grateful.”  

It was revealed in July that the Reality TV star and her ex Tristan Thompson were having another child together via surrogate.  

Khloe has always voiced a desire to give her daughter, True a sibling with Thompson who was born in 2018. The timeline of the pregnancy confirms the two were still together when they made the decision to have another baby in November.  

Thompson also recently welcomed a son, Theo, with Houston based fitness influencer Maralee Nichols while he was still coupled up with the Good American owner.

The revelation of Thompson’s infidelities were revealed on episodes of Hulu’s The Kardashians. Which led to the final nail in the coffin of their split. Khloe and Tristan began dating in 2016.

The family has asked for kindness and privacy while Khloe focuses on her growing  family.

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are expecting their second child together via surrogate — TMZ reports. The news arrives days before the birth, which marks Khloe and Tristan’s second child together, but the Chicago Bulls basketball player’s fourth child. The timeline reveals that the two planned and arranged for a second child together prior to the break-up following news of Tristan cheating on the Kardashian, which resulted in the birth of his third child with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols in December 2021.
