Ekkstacy And Trippie Redd Realize The Downside Of Fame On The Emotional New ‘Problems’ Collaboration

Ekkstacy returned today to share his new song, “Problems,” which features Trippie Redd. Opening with an inviting guitar line, the two have chill and emotional vocals that perfectly complement each other. Despite the somber nature, they had a really great time making the track.

“This song was fun to make,” Ekkstacy shared in a statement about the collab. “It happened between like 3 and 6 [a.m.] in Miami right before I had to head to the airport. Trippie and I wrote and recorded the lyrics over the music that my main collaborator Mangetsu made back in Germany.”

“We both came up listening to Trip, so I’m happy we both get to say we have a song with him now,” he added about his team’s shared love for the rapper.

The release also came complete with a video directed by Gilbert Trejo, where he stated that they wanted to “play with the idea of success and happiness.”

The result finds Ekkstacy and Trippie Redd surrounded by people having fun at a mansion, but they’re having a rough time and are visually out of place. They might have reached a peak when it comes to wealth, women, and fancy cars, but are still missing a piece that might make them happy.

Trippie Redd Roasted After Old Clip Of Him Mocking Rappers’ Low Album Sales Resurfaces

An old video of Trippie Redd has resurfaced online, in which he mocks other rappers for low album sales. Little did he know he would join them. The clip specifically targets artists who debuted with 30,000 album sales or less. “C list rappers, n*gga we bout to create an avengers of trash n*ggas,” he said. “If we all put our 30,000 first week together, n*gga we gone make a million.”

Trippie’s latest album, A Love Letter To You 5, first-week sales were less than stellar. Similarly to those he once laughed at, the rapper’s project sold only around 30,000 copies in its first week. After a series of pushbacks, the mixtape was finally released last week. It served as the fifth and final installment of his A Love Letter to You series. It featured guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, Bryson Tiller, and more.

New Trippie Redd Mixtape Only Sold 30k In Its First Week

Earlier this year, the rapper dropped off his fifth studio album, Mansion Musik. The project didn’t achieve massive commercial success and received mixed reviews from fans. It debuted on the Billboard 200 at No.3, selling 56,000 album-equivalent units. Chief KeefFutureLil Baby, and the late Juice Wrld were among those featured.

It’s not just his music career that Trippie Redd is struggling with, it’s his love life as well. Recently, he shared an emotional apology to Skye Morales on Instagram for cheating on her. The two had been together since 2021, although they’ve seemed to call it quits amid Redd’s infidelity.“Just wanted to publicly apologize to Skye do not be mad at her I cheated she not have had the best attitude with me, but she was the most loyal partner I ever had and I lost her,” Trippie Redd wrote, as noted by The Shade Room. “I just want u guys to be better than me. So if u find someone that makes u feel special think before u do [when] [you’re] mad I will never forgive myself for this s**t ever.” Stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.

Trippie Redd & Roddy Ricch’s ‘Closed Doors’ Video Is A Sweet Bite-Sized Look Into Their More Romantic Sides

Trippie Redd is among the biggest rap ragers, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a soft spot. On his new single, “Closed Doors,” off his new album, A Love Letter To You 5, Trippie teams with Roddy Ricch to show off their more romantic sides. The official video for the track, which was directed by Cole Bennett, is a sweet bite-sized look at the lengths the pair will go to for their special ladies.

In the video, Trippie and Roddy visually shrink themselves down as a metaphor for how they are willing to step out of their superstar personas for their gals. Although Trippie is known for his signature grunge sound, he has no problems throwing himself into the song’s R&B sounds.

Trippee even pays homage to singer Lloyd’s 2004 song “Southside” as Trippie melodically raps, “I done popped a Perky, waitin’ on an Addy / Got us doin’ things we ain’t done before / F*ckin’ you in mansions, crib came with expansions / Doing dirty things behind closed doors / I got you Dior sight / Got you catchin’ feelings, we was so tight / That p*ssy good, I co-sign / We both end up doin’ dirty things behind closed doors.”

This small tribute was a stellar touch on the part of the producers of “Closed Doors,” Igor Mamet, Puku, Niketaz, and OneintheForest.

Roddy Ricch’s verse perfectly aligns with “Closed Doors”‘ theme, with him dedicating his stanza to his better half: “I love the way you deal with a nigga, that’s so anti / Knew it was real when you got my name tatted on your backside / You love my highs and my lows in the worst way / And you make every day I wake up feel like my birthday.”

Trippie Redd & Lil Wayne Chop Up Some Soul On New Song “I’m Mad At Me”

Trippie Redd’s A Love Letter To You 5 is finally here, and it contains no shortage of varied tracks and highlights. While many might know the Ohio singer and rapper for his more emotive, rage-heavy, or melancholy cuts, he’s got a lot of different tools at his disposal. Moreover, when you also have the help of a legend and strong influence like Lil Wayne, you can make any great song you want. Furthermore, that’s exactly what the duo brought fans on “I’m Mad At Me,” which is a soul-chopping classic cut with a lot of clean sheen and crispness. It’s a welcome change of pace for Trippie who, with every new project, seems to add another skillset to his repertoire.

Of course, the beat is what will catch you attention on first impact, sounding like some of your favorite 2000s productions. With a powerful and dramatic vocal chop, the song’s sense of immediacy and importance is heightened to another level. Sure, the crisp and vibrant drum fills don’t always pop up across the track, but it makes their hits that much more ear-grabbing on the song. Melodically, Trippie Redd allows for subtle pianos, a slinky bassline, and faint guitar strums to lead the way. Lyrically, both MCs seem to focus on a relationship that they’re trying to balance with both their hardened backstory and their current fame.

Meanwhile, both verses contain steady and expertly handled flows, especially from Weezy who sounds calmer and more focused than usual. Considering that this was one of the tracks that Trippie teased right before this album’s release, it’s great to hear that it lived up to the hype. Here’s hoping that the 24-year-old plays with this sound more in the future while he picks up a few others on the way. If you haven’t heard ALLTY5 yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service. Trippie Redd Releases “A Love Letter To You 5”

After a few pushbacks on the release date, we finally have A Love Letter To You 5. This is Trippie Redd’s fifth mixtape, as well as being the fifth installment of the A Love Letter To You series. The Canton, Ohio native also put out MANSION MUSIK at the beginning of the year in January. The project received a fair amount of negative reviews, however, that did not deter him one bit. From November through December 2021, the hitmaker dropped quite a few Instagram posts that included a variety of snippets for A Love Letter To You 5.

Furthermore, Redd and DJ Akademiks sat down to talk about the mixtape. The “Love Scars” rapper proclaims that this is his best body of work and final entry of the series after a grueling three to four years spent working on this. “A Love Letter To You 5 is gonna be, if not the best body of music I’ve ever did, one of them. For sure. This is the last one. This the last A Love Letter to You so…I done put my all into it.”

Trippie Redd Previews New Songs With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

Despite multiple delays, it seems like Trippie Redd’s A Love Letter To You 5 is finally arriving soon, as it’s scheduled to drop tomorrow (Friday, August 11). Moreover, there have been a slew of singles for the project as well, whether it was to hold fans over for the delay or as part of the rollout process. Regardless, we’ve gotten a lot of heat from the Ohio native as of late, and it looks like this new album will bring us that much more. Furthermore, Trippie recently teased two new tracks on his Instagram, one featuring Lil Wayne and one featuring The Kid LAROI. He seems quite excited to finally share this with fans, as he often is with them on social media.

First up is “I’m Mad At Me” with Weezy, which takes things back to a more old-school hip-hop sound with a beautiful sample chop and crisp boom-bap drums. With the iconic lighter flick and all, Tunechi comes through with a steady and charismatic flow after Trippie Redd opened the snippet up with some bars of his own. It’s clean, soulful, and an exciting shift for Trippie considering his most prominent and popular output. All in all, it’s exactly what longtime fans want from such a versatile figure in the rap game.

Trippie Redd’s New Material With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

On the other hand, “Wind” with The Kid LAROI features impassioned vocals from him and a slinky bassline. From the melody and instrumental aesthetics, this is more up the MANSION MUSIK MC’s traditional alley. It’s moodier, more languid, and the lyrics are more heartbroken. In fact, it seems like this track is going to show off a lot of vocal chemistry between LAROI and Trippie Redd. For example, their singing tones and inflections are quite similar in this snippet, especially with Trippie’s dramatic and climactic chorus.

Meanwhile, previous singles like “Left 4 Dead” already gave fans a taste of the sounds the 24-year-old will play with on ALLTY5. He’s nothing if not a musical chameleon, which makes any project all the more exciting to listen to. We’ll see if “I’m Mad At Me” and “Wind” are album highlights, or if there’s even better cuts on there. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Trippie Redd.

Trippie Redd Feels Betrayed On “Left 4 Dead”

It is no secret that Trippie Redd is one of the most popular artists in the emo-rap space. He has given fans some classic hits throughout his career. “Taking A Walk,” “Love Scars,” “Topanga,” and many more. He has an unmistakable sound, which is not easy to do in a time in hip-hop where there are quite a few artists trying to replicate bigger names, like Trippie.

This new song “Left 4 Dead,” sees the Canton, Ohio native staying in his familiar lane. It is a lead single to his forthcoming record, A Love Letter To You 5. A series that began all the way back in 2017. The first installment put Trippie on the map, with the aforementioned “Love Scars,” being the opening track. It is a moody trap banger, with emotion and pain woven all throughout the song. That, along with many other songs in his discography, is why his fans will enjoy that same energy on “Left 4 Dead.”

Love Is Tearing Him Apart

Broken relationships and other forms of heartbreak are a consistent theme in Trippie Redd’s music. Here, he has a guitar that begins the track, giving you an idea of where the song is headed. It hangs in the background behind a thumping trap beat. He is singing about signs of betrayal in this relationship and that his significant other left him when times were getting tough. He comes to the realization that his love cannot be taken for granted even though he really loved this person.

Are you pumped for Trippie Redd’s upcoming album A Love Letter To You 5? What is your favorite installment in the A Love Letter To You series? What are your opinions on the song? I’m gettin’ weaker every breath I take without you (Ooh)

I miss the tricks she used to do in my bed
You switched so quick I couldn’t even comprehend
You showed me why I can’t be f***in’ ’round with love, uh

Did Trippie Redd’s ‘A Love Letter To You 5’ Get Delayed?

Trippie Redd began 2023 with Mansion Musik, an album billed as “an ode to Chief Keef’s Mansion Musick mixtape.” Shortly after its January release, Redd told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe why he rushed the album, saying, “I was held for ransom on my project. They wanted me to pay them a million dollars because they had all my records. Every single last one, all the features.”

Now Redd is expected to drop A Love Letter To You 5 on Friday, August 4, although he might wind up taking more time.

According to the Twitter accounts @OnThinIce and @SaintBraggs, the Apple Music pre-release listing for A Love Letter To You 5 is no longer available. “Quavo postponed his album to August 18th out of nowhere. What are the OVO boys cooking up?” the latter tweeted.

Meanwhile, On Thin Ice speculated that Quavo’s confirmed delay and Redd’s suspected delay could be to make way for Drake’s forthcoming album, For All The Dogs, which he’s been teasing during his ongoing It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage.

This doesn’t mean that the album has been delayed, but it does raise eyebrows. It should be noted that Redd hasn’t said anything to suggest A Love Letter To You 5 won’t be delivered as scheduled on August 4.

Last week, Trippie Redd announced A Love Letter To You 5, set for release on August 4.

The new album is the first in the Love Letter series to release since 2019 and the second full release from the rapper in this calendar year. The first taste of the new album is “Took My Breath Away,” which premiered last month.

Trippie Redd has also announced his highly anticipated Take Me Away Tour, set to take place across North America this fall. The 24-date tour will kick off on August 31 at the Somerset Amphitheater near Minneapolis, MN, and will make stops in cities like Toronto, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and more before concluding on October 9 in Seattle, WA. Joining Trippie Redd as special guests on the tour will be LUCKI, D.Savage, Ekkstacy, K Sauve, and Jean Dawson on select dates.

The Take Me Away Tour announcement follows Trippie Redd’s recent release of the single “Took My Breath Away” featuring Skye Morales. Trippie Redd has consistently achieved Top 5 debuts on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, with the mixtape marking his seventh consecutive entry in the Top 5.

LUCKI, who will join Trippie Redd on the tour, continues to enjoy the success of his album FLAWLESS LIKE ME, featuring collaborations with Future and Babyface Ray. The album’s release was accompanied by a sold-out 25-date tour in early 2023, which included shows in London and Canada.
