Nicki Minaj Announces “Pink Friday 3” After Last-Minute Scrapping Of Deluxe

Some of the Barbz have not been too happy with their queen, Nicki Minaj. Over the weekend, the superstar rapper had to deal with concertgoers demanding refunds. They had been voicing their frustrations over her starting shows late, alleged lip-syncing, and not performing certain songs. Obviously, some of these requests are pretty unbelievable, and Nicki was quick to address by detailing how she’s trying to give each tour stop a unique experience. It’s safe to say they won’t be getting their money back, but they are being compensated in a different way. According to announcement from Nicki Minaj (via AllHipHop), she going to be releasing Pink Friday 3 in the near future.

Yes, you heard us correctly, she is going to be turning this tandem of projects into a trilogy! If you remember, the original plan was that she was going to drop the Gag City Reloaded deluxe of Pink Friday 2 on September 13. It had been teased for a few weeks with new snippets and performances of these unreleased tracks on tour. We even received a cover and the whole shebang. But as you are about to read, Nicki explains why she decided to scrap this pretty last minute.

Nicki Minaj Announces Pink Friday 3

“Instead of doing a DELUXE to Pink Friday 2, I’ve decided to do a brand new album. I’ll still incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The “anxiety” song] for the remainder of the tour tho…and I’ll announce the new date within the next couple weeks. The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album”, Minaj said. “Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you do. I’ll still give you something leading up to the announcement, so no worries.” She also goes onto mention that this era in her career has been extremely fulfilling for her for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, for the Barbz, they will have to wait even longer. However, based on reactions across the internet they seem more than happy.

What are your thoughts on Nicki Minaj dropping her initial plans to instead release Pink Friday 3? Do you think she complete this now trilogy by the end of the year? Based on her tweet how many songs do you see landing on this new album? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Nicki Minaj. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Tinashe Delivers Part Two Of Her Trilogy & Her Seventh Album “Quantum Baby”

Tinashe has once again been having a stellar stretch in her career. In 2023, the Lexington, Kentucky native put out a handful of addicting singles, those being sexually charged “Needs” and the pulsing “Talk To Me Nice”. Both went onto be promotional release for her eventual sixth album, BB/ANG3L. Easily one of her most consistent and concise records to date, it’s laid the groundwork for what she’s set out to do in 2024. Sure, the project was just seven cuts and 20 minutes, but sometimes, less is more. Fast forward to April 12 and Tinashe would go onto to drop her most viral single since 2014’s “2 On” with “Nasty”. The track has received some backlash, as most popular songs do.

But here, the R&B/pop balladeer seemed to blend those two genres to perfection like never before. The track hooks you right away with her trippy repetition of “I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty / I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty“. Then, when the simple but addicting drum pattern kicks in and you start dancing to it, it’s got you for good and it’s not letting go. Quite ironically, Tinashe’s new album, Quantum Baby, is quite the opposite of this single. More times than, you are getting more airy and experimental sound palettes. Examples of this include “Cross That Line”, “Red Flags”, and “Getting No Sleep”. Its hard to chose which is better, but Tinashe has another high-quality effort with Quantum Baby. This is now project number two in this ongoing trilogy and it’s her seventh album to date. Give it a try with the links below.

The Weeknd’s “Out Of Time”: Refreshing Our Memory Amid The Conclusion Of This Final Trilogy

These last two weeks have been an exciting stretch for The Weeknd’s fans. After leaving off with Dawn FM back in January of 2022, Abel would tweet out “I wonder. Did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?”. He shared that message shortly after his fifth studio album was released to the public and we can remember the hype levels rising. Right now, though, they are shooting up again after three cryptic teaser trailers revealing what’s in store for this final third. The most recent one titled “Unprepared certainty…” has numerous unreleased tracks playing throughout, giving us still a pretty blurry look into the future. Because of this, we are going back to The Weeknd’s last project and one track we are replaying quite a bit is “Out of Time”.

We will tell you this is for science, but it’s mostly because this track is so damn good. The production on this song is arguably the best on the entire album. Abel, Max Martin, Oscar Holter, and Oneohtrix Point Never, all did an amazing magic job incorporating the dreamy sample from the 1980’s a Japanese pop classic “Midnight Pretenders”. The Weeknd glides over this instrumental, as he gets real about the mistakes he’s made in the past and how his willingness to change is too late to save his relationship. It’s beautiful heartbreaking anthem and one that still captures our ears to this day. We hope he’s able to work some more of these types of sonics into a supposed melding of his ideas from Dawn FM and After Hours.

The Weeknd Teases The Conclusion To His “After Hours” Trilogy With New Trailer

It’s fittingly poetic that one of the most monumental music careers of the past 15 years will seemingly begin with a trilogy and also end with a trilogy. Of course, we’re talking about The Weeknd’s highly anticipated follow-up to Dawn FM and After Hours, which will conclude not just this era of his journey, but also possibly his stage name. Moreover, the hype for this project just caught a fresh new wind thanks to his most recent social media post, which is a cinematic trailer showcasing the aesthetics and a sonic mashup of the aforementioned 2020s albums. The final part of the clip shows what seems to be a young version of Abel Tesfaye amid grass, with the message: “There are three chapters to this tale.”

Furthermore, fans think that The Weeknd will kick off his next album’s rollout into full gear now, especially thanks to a one-off show in São Paulo, Brazil on September 7. This also follows previous teases, such as a possible Apple collab, that have given vague but exciting hints about what’s to come. From what this new trailer indicates, perhaps this new version of the Canadian superstar will be his rebirth or reincarnation following the death (or purgatory) narrated on After Hours and Dawn FM. That’s just speculative, though, so we’ll have to see what the LP actually indicates.

The Weeknd Is Ready To Close His 2020s Trilogy

Elsewhere, though, The Weeknd has had a pretty notable 2024 without having to do much, as he’s a player in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. His features on Future and Metro Boomin’s We (Still) Don’t Trust You album series this year seemingly contained a couple of 6ix God shots, and his appearance at Kendrick’s “Pop Out” also furthered this narrative. Still, Abel didn’t really become part of the whole narrative. It’s just wild that he was still a huge name this year despite not doing much to warrant this, but then again, that’s his massive artistry at work.

Meanwhile, speaking of Metro Boomin, we know that he will at least provide some production to The Weeknd’s next project. Given the conceptual and musical directions of After Hours and Dawn FM, this will likely be another highly ambitious affair. We don’t know whether it will be a sonic evolution or more of the same in this trilogy, but either way, we should be in for a treat. Let’s hope that he follows up this trailer with some more concrete news.

YG Announces “Just Re’d Up 3” & All The Important Details

Compton, California rapper YG has kept fairly quiet in terms of his solo material over the last two years or so. However, him and fellow West coaster Tyga did come through with their collaborative “playlist,” Hit Me When U Leave The Klub. It featured a solid hit in “Brand New” thanks to the incredible Lil Wayne verse. But back to the My Krazy Life MC; the last time that he dropped a new solo single was back in early December of 2022 with “Miss My Dawgs” featuring Weezy. He would end the drought late last month with “KNOCKA,” which apparently is the second promo track for the upcoming YG tape Just Re’d Up 3.

The April 26 release was certainly “a knocker a bopper a knocker like choppers” in our eyes. Unfortunately, Bricc Baby did not share the same opinion. He called out YG, essentially telling him to step up his game, as he feels that the young bucks are dropping better material. Well, good thing the G-funk hitmaker announced Just Re’d Up 3. This is a great chance to shut up Bricc Baby, and any other possible hater out there.

YG Continues The Re’d Up Series Over 10 Years Later

YG fans will know that he started this mixtape series back in 2011 and put out the sequel in 2013. Now, just over a decade later, the 34-year-old, is completing the trilogy. According to HipHopNMore, he revealed the release date (July 3), as well as the possibly unfinished album cover on X. That is the big surprise here; apparently this will be classified as a studio album, not a mixtape like the previous entries.

What are your thoughts on YG announcing Just Re’d Up 3 as an album instead of a mixtape? Do you think this the best entry in the series, why or why not? Could this be his best release as of late? Who do you want to see on the project and why? Is “KNOCKA” still in your rotation? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Flo Milli Further Cements Her Identity On “Fine Ho, Stay”

Southern hip-hop is one of the main pillars of hip-hop and it has given us some of the best artists and tracks in its history. Of course, with every new face that decides to embody this style, things are not going to be how they once were. For Flo Milli on Fine Ho, Stay, she is showing that it does not always have be to super grimy. While she does like to portray a lot of sexual themes in her music, she makes it a little more lighthearted.

“Never Lose Me,” the album’s one and only single, is the perfect example of that. It has that pop rap appeal with the softer kick drums and delivery from Flo. After hearing this record, it becomes clearer and clearer that she is a master of catchy melodies and sticky cadences. “New Me,” “Neva,” “Toast,” and “Edible,” are some that show this ability.

Listen To Fine Ho, Stay By Flo Milli

Flo Milli’s love for the southern-fried sound is also apparent from the producers that hopped on Fine Ho, Stay. Honorable C.N.O.T.E, Lex Luger, Bangladesh, ATL Jacob, Cardo, Mike WiLL Made-It, are just some of the legends involved. Juicy J is also in the mix as a writer and you can hear that Memphis influence on tracks like “Got The Juice” and “Neva.” Flo’s Ho-themed trilogy is now complete, and this might be the best one of the bunch.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, Fine Ho, Stay, by Flo Milli? What songs are you gravitating toward right now and why? Who had the strongest guest performance? Is this the best record in the trilogy, why or why not? Does Flo have the most potential out of any new female MC? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Flo Milli. Killer Mike Discloses That “MICHAEL” Is Part One Of An Album Trilogy

While there is a large crowd of people who are happy for Killer Mike cleaning up at the 66th GRAMMY Awards last weekend, a lot are still upset. Streaming sensation Kai Cenat is one of those younger music fans in that camp. But, at the end of the day, Mike did submit a great album to the Recording Academy and it was deserving of the praise. He brought the brooms out, taking all three categories he was in. While the Atlanta legend is surely still celebrating to some degree, the Run The Jewels member is hungry for a trilogy.

Yes, you heard that correctly, Killer Mike is turning MICHAEL from a stand-alone record to a three-part series. This news was revealed to Apple Music 1’s panel at their Super Bowl LVIII setup in Las Vegas. According to HipHopDX, causally mentioned this trilogy plan to the hosts and they were noticeably stunned. For now, this all the information we have but it is exciting, to say the least.

He starts by saying, “The first album we got to kinda take the nine-year-old to where I’ve grown into as an adult, but I wanna cut deeper. There’s deeper levels to go, you know.” Mike continues, “We already plotting out what the next one’s gonna be, me and Cuz Lightyear were in the studio with Mike WiLL [Made-It] the next night. And we working. I just wanna work and produce works of art that’s gonna live long after I’m gone. So I can’t do that celebrating this too long. The celebration is fun, but after this, when I get back to Atlanta, I’ll be working.” While Killer Mike was vague about the trilogy we know he will deliver.

What are your thoughts on Killer Mike revealing MICHAEL is now going to be the first album in a trilogy? Is this Mike’s best album to date and is it still in your rotation? What do you want to see him try on this next LP and when should it drop? Who would you want to see featured and why? Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign To Host “Vultures” Volume 1 Listening Party In Chicago

Kanye West’s Vultures is just three days away from dropping. His collaborative tape with Ty Dolla $ign has been mercilessly pushed back, tracklists have changed, and volumes have been added. It would not be a Ye release if things were not somewhat chaotic. Fans can finally expect this thing to finally release on Friday, February 9. The volume point is important because there are three of them. They will be dispersed throughout the next two months.

There are tons of exciting features on Kanye West’s Vultures such as Freddie Gibbs, Quavo, Lil Durk, Future, and more. The fact that we are receiving three separate albums is exciting and also familiar. Ye did this back in 2018 when he went on one of his most memorable trio runs. Kids See Ghosts, ye, and contributions to Pusha T’s DAYTONA presented some of his best work. Hopefully, these Vulture volumes will replicate that excellence to some degree.

A post shared by Ty Dolla $ign (@tydollasign)

We have some more riveting news about the rollout from HipHopDX. According to them, Ty Dolla $ign and Mr. West have announced the listening party details. They did so on their Instagram accounts with two simple posters. One says “Vultures United Center Chicago 02 08 24.” The next slide shows the number “1.” This indicates it will exclusively be for the first entry of the album, so there could be two more for the subsequent volumes. If this goes through on Thursday, this could be one of the biggest music events in the last few years.

What are your thoughts on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign hosting a listening party for Vultures and its first volume in Chicago this Thursday? Will they finally follow through with this, why or why not? Will this first installment be the best out of the three? Will this be as iconic as The Life of Pablo listening party? The Weeknd Vaguely Teases New Album

The Weeknd needs no introduction at this point in his storied career. Canada’s own has done it all and he is a true global icon. A lot of music die-hards saw the potential in him after he came through with his debut project House of Balloons, in 2011. He then turned it into a trilogy with Thursday and Echoes Of Silence. Nine years later, The Weeknd would begin his second series with After Hours. The dark R&B tracks paired with the 80s pop hits, saw him hint at the direction he would eventually take a full dive into with Dawn FM.

While it did not feature global hits, it was The Weeknd’s most consistent project to date. There are just solid tracks throughout like “Gasoline,” “Sacrifice,” “Take My Breath,” “Out of Time,” and so many others. That 2022 release just turned two yesterday, January 7. That would also be the day that Abel decided to announce the third album in this series.

He did so on his social media accounts with the caption, “3️⃣.” The Weeknd shared the After Hours and Dawn FM covers, with the third image showing only a question mark. Of course, this got his world-wide fanbase juiced. One person says, “I’m sobbing.” Another goes, “Crying and screaming!! Drop it babyyy XO.” So far, this is all we know about the tape, but let us just say we are just as excited as everyone else.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new announcement from The Weeknd about his new album? When do you think he will complete this trilogy? Do you think he will continue to stay within the 80’s pop lane? Or, will he revert to his contemporary R&B sound? What direction do you want to see him go? Nas And Hit-Boy Complete Another Trilogy With “Magic 3”

Fans of Nas can breathe a sigh of relief, for now. Back on September 9, New York’s finest shared a teaser trailer of sorts to his Instagram account. It showed static from a television, then went to black with words being typed out to reveal, “THE FINALE.” Many people were freaking out thinking Nas was about to retire from rap, but those qualms are subsiding because that message hinted at something different. The cryptic note was referring to him dropping the final project in the Magic series with the third installment.

To celebrate this accomplishment in the best way possible, Nas decided to release this album on his birthday, September 14. Furthermore, this is now the sixth collaboration album between him and legendary producer, Hit-Boy. The duo’s work relationship is one that will go down in the history books as one of the greatest to ever do it, collectively. Since 2020, Nas and Hit-Boy have completed two trilogies with the King’s Disease series completed earlier this year. Now, the same can ring true for Magic as it goes out with a bang.

Listen To Magic 3 From Nas And Hit-Boy

Hopefully, Nas and Hit-Boy continue their camaraderie because the two have accomplished so much for each other. But, for now, we have this chance to relish Magic 3. This contains the largest tracklist of the three with 15 songs and clocking in at nearly 46 minutes. Additionally, this project contains the least amount of features with just one, but that is okay because Lil Wayne trades bars with him on “Never Die.” Nas’ and Hit-Boy’s legacies will “Never Die” after this incredible run of great beats and amazing lyricism.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new album, Magic 3, from Nas and Hit-Boy? Which set of trilogies is better, this or King’s Disease? Is this the best project from the Magic series? Which songs are you enjoying the most right now? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts in the comments section below.
